However, the pricing on nearly everything is bit insane. Getting charged a “destination fee” every night per person is ridiculous. Additionally, upgrade your AC. It wasn’t even that hot while we were there and the AC could not keep up with the weather. I couldn’t imagine staying there during 80+ degree weather. My biggest complaint is about the first room we stayed in. It was on the third floor terrace which means the door to the room is exposed to the environment. This only worsened the already poor AC. The door was terribly warped so all the humidity from outside made its way into the room. We could not sleep at all. You should decommission all those rooms until fixed. They are not fit for guests. This situation, while very disappointing, did allow the staff to shine. They were responsive to our complaint and found an alternative room within 12 hours which was much better. Overall the location was great and we didn’t spend a ton of time in the hotel because we could walk everywhere. This hotel in a different area would be fantastic because the pricing was just ridiculous. 25 dollar cocktails meant a minimum 100 dollar meal every time. 2 entrees and 1 cocktail each. We knew it’d be pricey going in but the hotel should lower prices on site to make the visit more enjoyable. Or offer discounts based on how long you are staying. Probably wouldn’t return to Santa Monica period.

Wonderful stay at the Sandbourne! Room was beautiful, great location. Short walk to the beach, towels provided. Quiet and didn't hear noise from hallway or other rooms. Coffee in lobby every morning. Self serve market with essentials. Lovely pool area with plenty of seating. Staff was welcoming and professional. Will return!

Great location. Staff incredibly attentive. Our room was dark and the one lamp was inadequate to read a book. Otherwise all good and would return.

Terrific location right on Pacific and Santa Monica pier. Staying in balcony room and the balcony was incredibly large with ocean view! Restaurant was great for breakfast.

Great hotel! So cute, rooms were great and as pictured. Pool area was nice but a little small/needed more lounge chairs. Also the hotel bar in the lobby closed too early. But overall great experience and good location.

Loved the whole vibe. The staff is so easy going and polite and just amazing. So fun to have beach chairs to use and bikes… loved the pool too. Definitely recommend! Room was clean, spacious and airy. For the beach you do have to cross a little street but it’s as close as it gets in California for a hotel that also has a pool!

The breakfast a the restaurant there was great! Never heard of blueberry butter before! And the room was absolutely beautiful, better than the pictures. The partial ocean view is literal, hardly can see it but regardless it was a great room and close to the beach! Incredible

Our room had a stingy smell to it & they didn’t do a great job in explaining the offers of the hotel. We had to ask for our complimentary drink after going to our room & reading it on the info papers they handed to us

Check in was very disorganized. The bellman appeared to be very nervous or on some sort of drugs. Check in took forever and when we first lined up no one was even at the desk to check anyone in. It took roughly 30-45 minutes to actually check in. Our room was very small for an udgrade, it was loud, dirty and not stocked with enough towels for our family and no coffee machine. I requested 3 times for more towels and had to request a coffee maker which arrived dirty. The carpets were dirty and overall cleanliness of our room was not amazing at all. the bathrrom faucet was extremely loose a wobbly. Our patio was quite dirty. The staff at the bar in the lobby had their backs turned to us almost the entire time. For breakfast we wanted to order room service, I tried to use the QR code provided but it didn't work. I had to call the front desk only to be transfered to room service who didn't answer. I called back ot the front desk and finally got our order placed. When it arrived the quality was extremely poor and it was $97 USD for a very mediocre breakfast. I had ordered 2 poached eggs for my kids and it was mixed with what looked to be chillys. The potatoes were burned. The beach access hallway was extremely dirty, loading bay door was just left open all the time for everyone to view the garbage and the smell. The pool was SO cold. The pool bar service was terrible. the person wore a mask and barely sadi 2 words to us while we ordered.
