Basiliani Hotel

Great location for visiting the old Sassi part of the town. Stuff from Basiliani waited for us at the parking where we left our car (since cars are not allowed in Sassi part), and drop us at the hotel. Everything is available by foot and we loved it. Warm and friendly atmosphere with great breakfast. Would recommendnthis place!!

The room didn’t have extra blankets for back up. There were no water bottles included in the room charge.

The location is ideal, in the oldest part of Matera.

It is a very special experience to live in a sassi with modern and comfortable facility. The hotel offered a wide and diverse selection. Onofrio, Matteo and Roberto are extremely friendly and helpful. It was raining when we arrived, they helped to carry our luggages under the pouring rain.

This hotel is amazing. Incredible location, friendly service, and a clean and spacious room. Highly recommend!

Good location and value. Parking is at an offsite area out of the historical area since it is closed to tourist traffic but the hotel shuttle pick up and drop off is easy Nothing

Incredible views, pickup and drop off service to and from the parking lots. Great, friendly staff and communication prior to arrival. The room was very comfortable and spacious. No complaints. Great breakfast spread every morning.

The view was amazing! ? The staff was very helpful. Smart TV in the room❤️ We installed “web cast” app on it and could watch movies “James Bond-No time to die” and “Wonder woman” on that big screen? “Bath” exactly in the room ? very interesting experience? no privacy.☺️

It’s different, in an old city cave type hotel . Very nice atmosphere very clean. The staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Perfect location in the ancient city. Helpful courteous staff. Spotlessly clean. They tell you exactly where to park in the newer part of Matera next to the university and then pick you up. Parking was free and left car for 2 days with no problems. Nothing!

Location, staff, breakfast included. We stayed for 2 nights and had a great time. Giuseppe gave us a very well described map with all the information we needed and more. He also recommended restaurants and explained the traditional culinary of the region (one of the best I ever experienced). I liked their fast responses thru WhatsApp for anything we had questions about. Our room had a little “window view” to a cave under it we thought was very interesting. The temperature of the room we could not figure out and would be hotter than we would normally like it.

We booked a supervisor triple room that has specific pictures and is described as 45 m², got a rooom completely different than the pictures, which was 25 m² at best. We were told that the pictures on the website are "only a reference."
