The main item with which I have a concern is the softness of the bath towels. They seemed clean, but much used.

I love this hotel. The restaurant isn’t as good as it used to be, which is kind of sad but everything else is great. My room was clean daily by very kind of people. I stay there for a week because I actually had a facelift down in Dallas and it was super embarrassing, and the staff was so nice to me. I got a fractional laser which made me look like an alien for a few days and they still made me feel welcome —thank you for making an embarrassing few days feel comfortable for me.

Really nice location and the facilities were very nicey laid out. As a frequent traveller this will definatley be one of my chosen stays All great, nothing to note. Excellent

Hobby bathroom was nasty. It is outdated. Room was small. You can bring water or pay 8 dollars for theirs.

Valet and front desk were not very friendly at check in. I did not realize the hotel didn’t offer room service so I called when I got to the room and was told they don’t do that but I could order take out from the restaurant. Then she said they close at 4:30 and it was 4:05 and they were already closed. No coffee in room either. Check out staff and valet were nice the next morning.

The valet was terrible. They were not there half the time and seemed disgruntled. The front desk staff are not very professional and informal. The restaurant had a ridiculous wait and there was one waitress for all tables at the restaurant. The AC was not working in my room and had to sleep with the window open. The hotel is right off the highway. I could go on and on about this hotel. Do not stay here.

From beginning to end this stay was wonderful. Etienne at the front desk was so helpful with all of my questions and needs. Our server, Avery, was wonderful at the on-site restaurant, food was pleasant and the bloody Mary was fantastic. Ryan at the bar was the most helpful with not only our wine selection but also made me the best coffee based tini on the planet!! Even in a moment of need, this entire staff came together to make sure we had a bottle opener ready and waiting for us in our room when we arrived back at the hotel long after the bar had closed. We could not be happier with our stay.

Enjoyed the comfort of the room. Though the option of the available drinks for purchase was nice, I really just needed the refrigerator space.

The hotel was nice. But they charged a bunch of mini bar items to my room incorrectly, which was a waste of my time to straighten out.

I got the property was great. He was easy because it was close to SMU as I was visiting my daughter there I was just highly disappointed. They would not honor my Hilton honor points. There’s no reason they couldn’t have out of them on.

Hotel gym was really nice compared to others I’ve visited. Hotel in great proximity to lots of food and activities. Most drives were 15-20min, centrally located to other towns. Overall a really good choice for a relaxing hotel stay.

Front desk and valet could not be bothered. I reserved a king bed room and got a room with two queen beds - not what I requested and reserved. I arrived very late but I did call the hotel to inform them of my late arrival. Will not be staying here again.

We were meeting family and decided to meet for drinks. The bar that was supposed to be open did not open for several hour late. Now we just tried to have breakfast but was told at least a twenty minute wait just to be seated. Not ever coming back.

The rooms are very nice! If you're looking for comfort and updated spaces, this is the place. Sits on the corner of an busy street. And the main parking option is to do valet parking for an additional fee. Important to note. But staff was extremely nice and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others.

Hotel was great! The thing that got me was they don't have any free self-parking. They only have valet parking and it's $55 a night. I complained and the Manager waived it, but I don't think it's right to not put that info on the description of the hotel.

I’m so disappointed as I was expecting so much better. The girls that checked me in had no idea how far the airport was from the hotel and said I can google it as well as what time to leave if there’s traffic. My card had a swiping issue and the other girl said she didn’t know how to manually enter it. When i went to my room floor there was a cart in the hall with old food and dirty items for hours. In the room there was stains on the rug and bed sheets. On one bed the sheets had holes and a burn mark that caused the sheet to have a sharp burnt edge. I took photos of it all. I’m traveling for work and there was an iron but no ironing board or robe in the closet. Very very disappointing especially for the price.

The hotel is darling! We had the opportunity to sit by the pool, it was loud due to traffic, but still wonder as the pool is fantastic and the chairs were comfortable. We didn’t have dinner at the Knife, but were able to walk across the street and shop and dine. Overall it’s a 10 out of 10!

The location of this hotel is excellent and across the highway from SMU. It’s recently been updated to a modern look with clean renovated bathrooms. The hotel parking is limited and therefore only valet parking is available.

This was a trip to visit family in the area. We have been staying at this hotel for years and have always been very happy The rooms and hotel have all been remodeled since our last visit and we were very happy with how beautiful it looked. The staff there is very friendly and welcoming also.

It was just okay. Our room seemed old. It had an old bathtub that you had to stand in to shower. I only booked here because I read that it had been renovated! Also, the view was not great at all.

$55/night parking, $---/night room with stinky bathrobes, no coffee maker, dust under the bathroom vanity, view of a huge Public Storage next door, $30 for 2 personal size bags of chips, staff promising services then not doing them, AND MORE!

Location I had to change my room 7 times. Due to noise- hammering on upper floor bc of renovation; weed smell; bathroom door fell off; dirty; noise; dirty.

I hate the new decor; it’s tacky and inconsistent. The worst thing is no coffee pots in rooms. The valet parking is way too expensive, and staff is blasé. Why take a beautiful classy hotel and make it ugly?

The room was nice but the construction in the lobby and around the elevators made moving around cumbersome. They should have offered discounts, you should not have to ask if their construction infringes on your ability to move around the property

They are updating the hotel so there is tremendous interior construction happening on the floors - my room was completed but I heard drilling on the floor above me. No coffee pots in the room and do not plan to provide them.

We got a rollaway bed which did not fit. They had to come up to move furniture around and take some out so we could fit a rollaway so we were not happy with that situation. But the room was nice. I’m sure when the hotel it’s finished, it will be awesome. Everybody was really nice. We just weren’t happy with how we ended up with the room we got, which was less in size and amenities than what we had booked.

On the positive side, the staff accommodated us when I made it clear we would not be staying there after the first night, and we canceled the remainder of our stay and moved to another hotel. Also the kids did enjoy the pool for a bit.

Under renovation. I was not made aware of this! Way under staffed. Valet only and absent valet. Rude evening desk clerk told me to wait 20 minutes for valet and wouldn't take my keys. Parking is $45. Bed was comfortable, though the fabric on the bed frame was tattered and falling off. Shower worked well after it was fixed and other amenities worked well. Massive construction happening, but we weren't warned until we were checking in, at which point, it was nighttime and too late to change. Construction went from 8am to 5pm. Pull the lever to turn the shower on from tub setting and it came off in my hand. Not a big deal because they fixed it. Though I had to wait until night time to shower because of this. The lamp wasn't working properly on my wife's side of the bed.

There is a mini mall adjacent to this hotel and some of those parking spots are labeled for those business so park there at your own risk. Great stay, great staff, great room, great location. Only thing was that you have to pay for parking and I only knew about this because others left a review like I am doing now. There is a mini mall adjacent to this hotel and some of those parking spots are labeled for those business so park there at your own risk. Great property but the room service and poolside dining have such odd hours. I expected a full service Hilton hotel and felt the food options were a 1out of 5.

It’s a decent & comfortable hotel right in the middle of the commercial area with a lot of amenities and the city train line nearby. Certainly not cheap by any means and you pay for the convenience of location. One thing that was unexpected is the lack of parking spaces. Although they do not require you take the valet at a "double digit amount," there’s just no other viable parking options that don't risk being towed off. Beds and pillows are comfortable and the room was very clean. The shower is awful!! I noticed poor water pressure. The shower heads give you a light stream shower, which takes three times the amount of time to finish your shower to make sure you get the shampoo out of your hair. If you’re a woman with a lot of hair, forget it! It is one of those greenie water conservation minded shower-heads on steroids. Did not visit any of the amenities in the hotel. Again, you pay for the convenience of location and that’s all I could say that stands out about this hotel for the price you will end up paying. If you’re not tied to going to someplace near this location, I would stay somewhere else to save some money.

Great location for an event at the Angelika theater. Enjoyed our stay very much. Great restaurant in the hotel as well.

The pool area was very nice and well designed. Our Television didn't work. Never got to watch TV. When I I'm informed the Front desk they never addressed my issue.

Tv don’t work in hotel . I wasn’t able to use the pool on my last day after 12pm check out even tho I wasn’t leaving until 4pm.

The location was great and I appreciated the courtesy of the doorman. The lobby is very pretty with ample places to sit. There is a lot of space to move around and the water features and deco are very soothing. There were no drawers for storage of clothes, several areas needed more maintenance: example: some of the flooring was very worn and should have been replaced. There needed to be an area to purchase toiletries, snacks, and/or a gift shop. The parking was extremely expensive.

The showers were like getting power washed. It was so strong it flooded the bathroom and I had to use all the towels to clean it up. The hotel was fine, just watch out for the shower

I had a terrible check in process with a rude employee at the front desk. I will be contacting the hotel manager regarding the employee. Everything and everyone else was great.

Knife was a great experience due to the great service.

We loved the bar area to gather at night after a long day. Will definitely stay again!

Small details amounting to an overall impression of wear and tear: chipped room decor, cracked paint, nonfunctioning cabinet door. But good where it matters: Great AC. Roomy. Nice sized bathroom. Good coffee. Surprisingly quiet considering where it sits. Comfy bed and pillows. High valet fee.

Such a wonderful hotel. Everyone was great except for Lillie (sp?) at front desk. Our perception of her rudeness was enough that we will never return. Such a shame that behavior of one person could ruin overall experience. Maybe she was just having a bad day.

Convenient to SMU but very noisy (highway traffic) and could not get room temperature comfortable.

It was a perfect place for an overnight stay with the family.

Staff very friendly, hotel and room clean, comfortable and quiet. Valet parking a little expensive.

I really was disappointed and I am a Hilton honors member. My Wi-Fi didn’t work. My television didn’t work I couldn’t turn my light off my room was freezing. Finally I got the heat to work. It really was not that wonderful. They’ve tried to be very nice at the desk, but I have to say my room was really not fabulous. I thought it was going to be much nicer. I have heard good things, but I did not have that experience. Additionally, I had a wonderful experience in the restaurant they have the most wonderful woman who took great care of me. She was really outstanding, and I made a point to let the manager know. I wish I didn’t have to complain. I am not really a complainer, but the room was really not great. I did get a fan as requested and that was nice. I hope they take a look at that room, it really just wasn’t a great one

Very easy checking and really nice staff

Came for sorority parents weekend for my SMU daughter and location was first reason why I chose The Highland. Check-in staff was very friendly and kind. Room was comfortable. One thing I would recommend is not to have plastic shower curtains. Putting a half glass would just add a touch of higher end and higienically cleaner. Other than that, stay was good.

Property was in good condition. Staff were polite but unresponsive to some billing questions which have yet to be resolved.

Would not recommend the restaurant.

The negative points: When I checked in, I was placed in room ending 12, which was on the noisy side of the hotel. The freeway/cars woke me up at 5 am. I asked to change rooms and was placed at the side of the hotel with rooms ending 20-31. It was a better experience without noise and facing the pool. Another downpoint was the cleaning lady waking us up at 8 am on the checkout day. The hotel should have better control of checkouts and instruct the cleaners not to bother guests before checkout time at noon. If guests check out earlier, cleaners will be informed by staff.

There was lots of water damage to the ceiling in the shower area. The water wouldn’t stop running from the tub faucet even though the shower head was going so the water was constantly filling up while showering. The sink also had poor drainage and kept filling up. The actual hotel was nice but the bathroom was not up to par.

The Highland had what we expected, beautiful clean rooms, an amazing restaurant (Knife), wonderful amenities, and best of all world class service from the front door to every member of their team we encountered.

Room was clean, if a little dated, and the service was excellent.

It was a wonderful stay.

Hotel needs a face lift

The restaurant tried to put me off in corners or bar as I was only one person. I walked out and went up SMU boulevard and had a great time. Stuffy manager of hotel restaurant. Otherwise, a nice facility.

Great staff when I checked in. Nice bar atmosphere, clean and quiet room! Would stay here again.

Knife restaurant was amazing as was the Spa. Would definitely stay again!!
