Wonderful place to stay. The AC had a hard time cooling. We kept it maxed and it was comfortable but we like it cold at night. The AV struggled to make the room cold.

How clean and respectful everyone was. The staff when I arrived from my travels they were very welcoming at 11PM. I was late checking in due to my flight. The beds were so comfy and the pillows I would love to have what they were. I NEED THEM!! Only thing I wish I would have known about breakfast. The staff was very helpful. In particular they have a shuttle service that makes reaching entertainment in the area very much a part of the reason to stay. Wish we could have stayed longer but we plan to be back.

I had an issue with some of the lights in my room, and I could not get the shower door to stay closed. I raised the issues with the front desk; they were addressed straightaway. I was not happy with the parking arrangement. Long story short, the hotel wants $46 for overnight valet parking. I do not need or want valet parking; I prefer to park my car.

the shower door did not close and they did send someone to fix it, it was better but not completely fixed. Also, because the hotel was next to the highway, in the evening the noises were very loud. I think the glass windows must be made sound proof since they have remodeled the hotel. the staff were friendly, I did not take a look at the gym but I am sure it was nice. and the hotel remodeling and furnishing was very nice and pretty and luxe. did not eat at the restaurant so I cannot comment on that.

The newly renovated restaurant/bar area is really nice. Elizabeth at the bar is so nice. Front desk staff was also very nice. Room was pretty big (2 queen beds). Pillows were soft (which I like but just an FYI). Only thing I didn't care for was the sliding bathroom door. It didn't allow for privacy because it had open space on either side when closed. The bathroom didn't seem to have a fan either so mirror gets foggy post shower. Beds were comfortable and hotel itself was clean and welcoming. I will stay there again.

The hotel a/c unit rattled in which one could not sleep. I left at 5 AM due to the rattling. Then I was placed near the highway which you could hear. The hotel was not full and why could you not be placed opposite of the hotel. The clerk asked - did you complain. What is the point? You are attempting to sleep. Who wants to get up in the middle of the night to change rooms have someone come in to take a look in the middle of the night. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone.

. The Hotel staff is great however the bar manager was pretty rude about getting us to leave for some mock event they were doing for select people . No sign saying so . Just her singling a person out to leave . Also hotel had no thing going on in or around the area but yet felt like it was a little expensive for that room . If it were not for the rest of the staff I would not go back .

Room was clean. There are no spare pillows or blankets kept in the room. Bathroom has a sliding barn tour type closure that does not close all the way. Not especially private. Too few replacement towels/washcloths when room was being serviced. Waited 10 minutes when seated at the bar/restaurant area and was not spoken to or acknowledged by any of the waitstaff or apologized for not being able to take my order. I sense this hotel is understaffed or not especially trained to prioritize for details like the above.

The original presentation shown of this hotel was not what we arrived to. On our first day the lobby area, elevators, dining area, and floor tiles were under construction and continued throughout our entire stay. Room lighting can use improvement as well. If the property gave any type of notice of reconstruction, we could've found a better fitting stay. On a positive note the location of this hotel makes it easy to disperse into downtown. This place has great potential in the future.

Property is fine. Nothing special. Under construction right now. We’re only here for a night. Valet is nice but does suck to not have the option to self park to save $40 for valet. He said text the number when ready and wait five mins or so. We did and he hadn’t checked the texts after we wait almost ten mins before even coming down. He quickly went and got our car though. If you have to pay $40 for valet and not have the option to self park, you’d think the valet would be decent at least. If there is no option for self park, the price for valet should already be part of the price for the room. Fine for one stay, but wouldn’t stay any longer.

The hotel overall felt overrated. More like a deluxe Super 8 or something. The room was clean, the "city view" was a parking garage. Paper coffee cups. Cheap throw away water cups. 1 towel per person. And minimal bedding. When I requested an extra blanket front desk staff acted as if it was an inconvenience. Valet parking $43 per day acted reluctant to be genuinely helpful when we needed a ride on the shuttle to a nearby venue.

Staff was great and everything was very clean. Location is under renovation though so no onsite restaurant and the pool was closed for half of the stay, even when it was open there was construction going on in the pool area so that was awkward. No mention of either prior to our stay. Would have appreciated knowing this ahead of time, we intended to use both at times during our stay and not really anything within walking distance for dining/beverage alternatives. Woke up prior to our alarm each morning to sounds of construction or housekeeping as well. Once renovations are done this will be a great location! Honestly, the staff made up for these small short comings as well. They were amazing!!

This was a good stay for an unfortunate reason (funeral). This property has a great looking restaurant/bar area. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and solidly quiet. They are pretty standard rooms with not much fan fare. Nice, clean, good AC. The location is right across the bridge from SMU, which is very pretty. If you are looking for a good hotel for business or personal travel that is convenient, great bar area, friendly staff, and more basic, if not great, rooms, I think this is a very good choice.

The lobby is beautiful, the elevator doors close like alligator jaws, the room overall clean but smelled like someone was living in there prior to my visit. There was mold on the top of the air conditioning unit which activated my allergies and I left early, 3:15 is this am instead of regular check out time. I may have just not had a good room but I won’t stay there again, wasn’t worth the money.

I have stayed at this property for many years. I was extremely disappointed to learn that they changed the self park that they have had for many years to valet only. Wow this hotel literally has no parking - you can pay valet 42$ to park your car in a dedicated valet only lot - you pay 15$ to park in a business parking garage a block away or you can park for free 2 blocks away at the DART bus parking lot - utterly ridiculous - we will never stay here again

However the a/c in the room went from cold to warm without us changing the thermostat. Then there was no closet but a clothes bar you have bought in IKEA. The water pressure is good but it shoots out so hard it could peel your skin off. There was no place to put a suitcase on. There was one low chair and a tiny ottoman there was plenty of room for better seating and a foldable suitcase holder. There was supposed to be a restaurant called steely mill. Well it was a large room with some tables and a bar. You had to order your breakfast at the bar, then we sat down and it was brought to us. In fairness breakfast was good. WYN was about server for dinner and she was great. Once again the food was good. We were the on;y ones sitting in that large room. This is an Marriott envoy elite class hotel. The embassy suites we stayed in night before was fabulous, I would not stay here again.

When I checked in on Thursday morning, my room was prepaid through Hotels.com. However, I was told I needed to pay a $100 deposit, which I understood and was okay with. Friday morning wake up to my account and $314 was taken from my account for the Beeman hotel. They charge me twice after my hotel was already paid for in advance. When I spoke to the young lady at the front desk she couldn't explain why a total of $414 was deducted from my bank account. My sister stayed in the same hotel and extra money was taken from her bank account also. Be careful with adding your card to their system because it will be charged with no explanation.

  • Kyle May 2025 · via expedia

The property blocks off all (30-40) parking spots around the hotel and forces you to use valet for $50/day/car. Over half of these valet spots remain unused. This is not advertised anywhere in the booking slots, and resulted in over $200 in charges for valet parking that was unnecessary. The only other option was parking half a block away for $20 each time you entered the garage. This is a money grab, after already charging you more than the room is worth. Recommend using the Highland down the street - better hotel and better parking options.

We arrived to find the property under construction. Entry closed and access via another door. Contractors autos / trucks filled the front parking area. Dirt was tracked in every where as they were re-doing all landscaping. There was no where to take a dog out and no one warned us of the remodel. We checked in and immediately the elevators stopped working. We waited 15 mins or more while the alarms buzzed and the crowd grew and finally they were restored. Other guests were asking for the stairs to be unlocked but no access was given. The room seemed dirty, no place to put luggage, no place to hang a toiletry bag, no extra linens, blanket, nothing that would make this place worth 500 per night. We were charged 100 none refundable fee for two tiny dogs and this was not mentioned on their site either. We were forced to valet park, handed a ticket with a QR code and text number for retrieval but neither worked. Saturday night we arrived back to go to bed and we self parked in an available spot our front as there was no one to check the car with. After we were asleep, the valet gave us a call, after 10 PM waking us up and stating they did not have our key. We tried to call the front desk and house keeping for additional items and no one ever answered the phone. We never got an apology or anything reduced or comped. We were placed in a room right at the elevators so it was noisy. The room was basic with nothing special. We will not stay there again.

The location to SMU is great, but the staff is not friendly or helpful. I felt like I was inconveniencing them upon check-in, wasn’t given the voucher for breakfast, so I had to go request it, and our privacy lock in our room did not work. Upon notifying staff, they said it was all digital and would lock on its own. That was incorrect. There was construction at the entrance, so a different (unmarked) entrance was required and it was dirty and loud. Valet was the only option, and they did not have my vehicle ready when requested. The outlets were coming out of the wall in our room, and service at breakfast was slow, though the server was friendly. Overall, I was not impressed.

The home feel has defiantly changed since it is now owned by the Marriott. Overall room was decent, the sliding bathroom door literally fell off the hinges. Thankfully my husbands was able to help me as I was blocked in the restroom. Beds and towels were clean. The staff AM staff are kind, the PM staff not so much. PM Vallet were great! I had booked the king suite for my wife and I. We were going to the Stars game and arrived at the hotel around 11AM to drop our bags off. They confirmed we were staying in the king suite but it wasn’t ready. We understood that as check-in is at 3 PM. We go to the game and come back to check into our room and we’re informed that our room was no longer available. We advised that we were told earlier that it just wasn’t ready but confirmed we had the King suite. They then offered us a connecting room which we did not agree with as why would I want to stay in a connected room with my wife? The front desk associate stepped away for a bit, came back and ended up com-ping our room, which we appreciated. fast-forward and we get into our new room and we notice it is a little bit stuffy. We turn down the AC and then we went to dinner thinking it might need to cool down for a bit. We get back to the room and it’s only dropped a degree after being gone for about an hour hour and a half I gave it the benefit of the doubt and actually I dropped it all the way down to 60°. I was uncomfortable all night. wake up in the morning and it only dropped 1° from 75°. The restaurant service was great. The food was very good as well. I just wish there was a bit more organization around the bookings, especially when you’re willing to pay $700 for only one night of stay. Again, I do appreciate the comp room but the room there after left me feeling uneasy about the experience.

Cons- Unreliable shuttle transportation (had to walk 3/4 mile back to the hotel after failure to get a hold of the hotel for 45 minutes to request a shuttle back from a restaurant). Chromcast TV did not work in room. Wifi in room was so slow we couldn't do anything. Room service webpage did not load (on site or off site). Lighted mirror in bathroom did not work. Handicapped unit was an acceptable retrofit of an original hotel room; however, the room was in need of maintenance. The air conditioner/wall heater had a loud rattle, and many things did not work.... the bed reading lights, the Keurig, the makeup mirror, and the power outlet under the desk included. The fridge was not turned on. The toilet paper holder was pulling away from its wall supports. Also, the roll-in shower was not sloped enough to keep water from draining out onto the bathroom floor. No extra blankets in the room and only waist high clothes hanger poles assumed the occupant would need only wheelchair access (no full length closet poles). Vomit on the elevator floor upon checkout from the previous night's wedding party event capped off the visit.

We had a nice stay as we were passing through on a drive across country. We had our dog with us and heard that the Beeman was dog friendly and they could stay for free...a huge draw. I do have to say that we found out upon arrival that going forward it will be $100 to have a pet...don't think we would pay that so would probably look elsewhere. Other than that a great place to stay.
