Kastara Resort

Our room was extremely spacious and clean. Swimming in the pool with the view was a lovely experience. We were treated with special attention every time we arrived and departed. It's very conveniently located and accessible by private vehicle, but you might need to walk a few minutes to access online transportation apps. Still, it's usable. Because the toilet had a glass door, it wasn't soundproof. This wasn't very convenient for us.

This place is incredibly beautiful. The view down into the gorge from the rooms, pool and restaurant is breathtaking. It makes you feel like you are on another planet. Our room was spotless and very large. The steaks in the restaurant are excellent quality. We both enjoyed our meals. Lovely staff and customer service. Something to keep in mind, it’s hard to tell from the photos, but the private pools can be viewed by other guests looking down from their balconies. No app rides allowed. You must take hotel cars or walk. The walk is a pretty 1.4 mile, mostly downhill to town. So we walked TO town and took Grab back (they can drop off) because of uphill & heat. The drive takes at least 10-15 minutes and is NOT 1.4 miles because you have to take the long way around the ridges on very tight and jarring roads. Because of this, we would not stay in this location again.

Excellent staff and hospitality. We stayed in a junior suite, and it had an amazing view and was spacious. Definitely recommend and will book it in the future for sure.

The staffs are incredibly kind, polite and helpful. They are caring and provided exceptional service. The rooms were clean, comfortable, beautiful views of the valley from the infinity pool and room. The stunning valley where we could see sunrise everyday and hear birds in jungle. Grab is not allowed to come there, the hotel is about a 25 minute drive to the centre of Ubud where the bulk of the restaurants and shops are. We have to use their taxi service which is more expensive and it isn’t as good service as grab. We hired driver to go around.

Everything Nothing

The location was exotic and very close to Ubud where we had a wonderful day trip. The infinity pool was relaxing after a long day of travel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean with beautiful views. No comments. It was great.

Great location; beautiful surroundings. All the food was great but I would have appreciated a wider menu. Getting to most major sites requires transportation.

Firstly the resort was beautiful and strategically located in the middle of nature itself. Waking up each morning to hear the birds chirping and seeing all of nature’s green beauty was breathtaking. The hotel is extremely clean with staff making sure everything I needed was provided. The front desk staff was even kind enough to lend me a phone charging cord when mine failed to work. Breakfast was delicious as well nothing to complain about as everything was perfect. Everything was perfect, wish I could have stayed longer

Everything about this stay was excellent. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating throughout our visit. The breakfast was fantastic with a great selection of fresh food including eggs, croissants, juices, and more — everything felt very high quality. We also received a lovely welcome drink on arrival which was a nice touch. The resort facilities were outstanding and our private pool villa was beautiful, very clean, and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the resort so much that we spent most of our time there just relaxing and enjoying the facilities. Nothing at all to complain about. Our stay was excellent overall and the resort exceeded our expectations.

Loved everything!

Adi didn’t just take us from place to place, he shared so much knowledge about Indonesian and Balinese culture, traditions, and daily life, which made the experience incredibly enriching. He is a really nice person: always polite, friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. We felt safe and comfortable with him at all times, and he was always happy to answer questions or adapt the plans to our wishes. Thanks to Adi and the hotel, our holiday was not only relaxing but also truly memorable. We would absolutely recommend this place and the excursions with Adi to anyone visiting Bali.

If you’ve stumbled across Kastara Resort And Spa, you can stop searching! This is a small piece of heaven in Bali. I have nothing bad to say so it’s ALL EXCELLENT! From online reservations, airport pickup to every single staff I met, housekeeping, maintenance, restaurant, waitstaff, chefs, entertainment, poolside bar, security, hospitality trainees, drivers, spa, yoga instructor, scooter drivers, tour guides, it was all impeccable. I stayed 17 days and could easily have stayed longer. EVERY single person was so attentive and accommodating they were always one step ahead of me with answers to my questions and even questions I didn’t know I had (local restaurants, shops for gifts, etc.)! The rooms are heavenly! The outdoor bathtub overlooking the jungle - speechless! All you hear is the whistling of the breeze, rustling of leaves, and the purest sounds of nature! Your bed faces this view…imagine waking up to the photos below… why get out of bed? Somehow, I suspect the staff at Kastara don’t have to try that hard to be a 5-star hotel, because they are just so innately and incredibly welcoming and treat you like family in the best way, as it’s simply second nature for them. From the moment I stepped onto Kastara property, they made me feel at home. They greeted me with smiles and by my name every time I ran into a staff member and they did the same with every guest! They remembered what I did the day before and was always on hand for what I had planned for the day. I went on excursions which left at 3am and they prepared a boxed breakfast for me! I have too many people to thank so i won’t even try…. :). I tried to sneak out and check out early as I knew it was going to be hard to say good-bye, and it was. The staff make it very easy to you to smile and very hard to leave…. Lol! Kastara Resort And Spa is white glove service at its best! Go ahead and give paradise a try….you deserve it!! :) I found absolutely nothing to “not like”. Everything was simply outstanding!
