San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk

Horrible check in. The room we paid for was never made available and the staff seemed completely uncaring. The rooms are small and not very nicely furnished, the pool area is not clean and the smell of chemicals is overpowering, and the noise in the area makes it very difficult to sleep.

Clean room & good staff. Valet parking ONLY was outrageously expensive! Little to no benefits for frequent traveler program members.

Second Staff if wonderful and prompt.Third is Location could've ask for a better location really loved the access to the Riverwalk and safe security doors And lastly the Elevators are extremely fast and plenty of them didn't have to wait long abt total of 12(Elevators) We had an issue with the rooms AC had to call twice and issue was still not fixed stayed at 72 degrees the entire time considering the humidity. Also our room was not user friend had sleep away sofa in front of the bay window didn't have easy access to open up curtain. And not enough space in room .Also didn't have mini fridge to keeps drinks cold . Also the main entrance needs to be swept or blown off regularly to have that extra curb appeal and the Valet or the traffic needs some better guidance was a Caos trying to keep traffic moving smoothly and it was extremely confusing

Pros: This proprty has high volume but is clean and well-maintained. The elevators operate a little diffeerently. but once you figure it out, you'll appreciate the efficiency.

AC didn’t work well. The room wasn’t fully painted. There was a hole in the ceiling with a sprinkler hanging in the bathroom. The pictures to their online platform didn’t match what we got. (We were supposed to have 2 queen beds and got a king) and were told we could upgrade. Hence we were paying $500 for one night. It was also on the very end of riverwalk. Overall okay and had bare minimum but won’t be booking here again.

Management is very quick to take action. They charge for parking. We are a Marriott family and we vacation all the time all around the world in Marriott hotels and I've never had to pay for parking.

Not a good restaurant for dinner. Ended up eating at the bar watching the NBA games. Laundry facilities were clean and well maintained. Washer and dryer are free but bring 4 quarters for the soap. Good location for the Riverwalk.

The room had a dirty diaper when we first checked into our new room and the door was open went downstairs and told the front desk then the whole reason we booked that hotel was because they had an indoor pool and the one night out of two nights that we stayed there the pool was not accessible to us because it was closed. That was the whole point I booked that room which was very, very disappointing. Then the second day we didn’t get any housekeeping come to the room at all and the day we checked out housekeeping came in at 9:45 when checkout wasn’t until 11 o’clock, which I don’t understand why they would even come in, but they walked in on me naked coming out of the shower. I would love to get some type of compensation back for booking this room and paying how much I paid for this to be the experience I got. !!!

Excellent location in downtown San Antonio with a shopping mall and restaurants in the same complex. Could see River Walk and the Alamo from our room. Extremely clean, super friendly staff, good food in the hotel bar and restaurant, coffee shop, and massive conference areas. Excellent hotel in one of our favorite cities. Only cons were the parking rates, the pillows, and non-complimentary wi-fi but we would definitely stay here again.

Wi-Fi service was hard to access and would go out. Staff wasn’t sure how to resolve issue. They locked us out of our room because payment method was not updated however there was no mentioning of this upon checking in and they sent a Secruity guard to check what the situation was instead of an actual staff member. Picking up our food from the bar and being told it was not ready, when it was packaged on a surface nearby but staff was not paying attention or their attention was else where.

Had breakfast from the hotel cafe and healthy options were very limited. Rooms were clean and minimal items for guests. There was one water bottle in the room for $6 and that’s all. No items by the bathroom sink whatsoever.

Dated. Service was mediocre at best. Had to leave early for personal reasons and they overcharged me due. I paid double for a two night stay. Stay at the Grand Hyatt.

The toilet had a malfunction in the middle of the night. I woke up to the sound of running water, the back of the toilet lid was raised, some water on the floor, and the toilet was continuously flushing. I could not use the toilet that morning in a room that cost over $300. Ridiculous. I called the front office and they said someone would be up right away but no one showed up before I had to check out. I had to hold everything and use the restroom that morning to relieve myself......from the 23rd floor.

Everything from booking online to checking out was extremely easy and everything about the hotel is excellent. Check in was easy and fast. The food at the restaurant is great and I love the amenity of having $15 credit each day. The location is so great and we came down and went out to the Riverwalk and mall. We will be staying here in the future.

Safe and secured entrance to room floors and from mall. Only accessible with room keys. Guillermo at valet area was very helpful. Property needs more visible signs in parking garage to indicate exits.

Everything was good except for the food. I ordered breakfast and dinner on three separate occasions and the food was not good.

This hotel is close to the Alamo and shopping. The convention center is walking distance. Plenty of restaurants walking distance. Over all a great place. A little expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

I was there for a work function. The staff was extremely helpful. The bed was not comfortable (for me) and when we arrived the room was pretty warm but it was clean and I was also able to get an early check in. The bar was amazing and so was the food from the restaurant.

Called the front desk for them to check the AC again or for fans because it was uncomfortablely hot. The fanks took a while to come up as we were gettinf ready for bed. Had the AC worked the money spent would've been worth it, but unfortunately that was not that case.

This place was by far the best stays I have ever experienced, it felt like a very luxurious stay that was very affordable for me and my family. Everything was great from checking to our room and a lot of amenities around the hotel. It was very convenient for me and my little family. We enjoyed it very much!

However, I am giving 3 stars due to a few concerns: there was no complimentary parking, with a $50 nightly fee, and no complimentary breakfast—both of which are commonly offered by comparable hotels, not even a complimentary bottle water in the room. Additionally, I had an unsatisfactory experience with the evening front desk staff regarding a lost item. I misplaced my sunglasses in the lobby, and the interaction with staff appeared inconsistent and unhelpful, raising concerns about how lost items are handled. I understand it was my fault for misplacing my belongings, but they were very sketchy.

I had booked a room that slept 4 adults and when I went to check in they gave me a different room that only slept 2 adults and gave me 2 air mattress instead. And it was a hassle to get the air mattress delivered to our room. Also the hall smelled bad like wet carpet they had a dryer plug in front of our outside door to dry the carpet. We will not stay there again.

Great hotel that has all the amenities you would expect in a four star establishment. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Access to shopping, dining and adventure is only minutes away. I would highly recommend!

Just for one night to meet with family. Took us a while to figure out the elevators because they weren't explained, but we eventually figured them out. Hotel was clean. Breakfast buffet was like no hotel buffet ever before-- very fresh, good QUALITY, delicious food. Fruit was beautiful and ripe. I'd love to know the brand of sausage. It was super tender and tasty.

I have ever stayed at! Absolutely no noise from the halls or outside, and there was plenty going on. I was here for a work conference, and it was also fiesta time. The only noise was in the lobby, but the rest of the hotel was so quiet. The room was clean and comfortable.

Receptionist didn’t explain anything to me about putting a large amount of money as a place holder when I checked in. I had a connecting room, but the door lock was a bit unreliable & I can the person talking on the phone in the room next to mine. The pillows were all feather and had no volume, my neck would hurt if I didn’t stack 2-3 pillows together. the elevators were great, little food place/coffee shop was good. No one cleaned the tables outside that though. Despite all that, I had a good stay.

Staff are exceptional! Room was spotless and tons of entertainment and dining within walking distance.

Despite contacting the hotel multiple times days prior to arrival, we did not receive the floor placement we requested and were placed on the opposite end of the building on 27 from the lounge located on 26. we attempted to have this rectified through the online chat system, but nothing was provided by way of relocation or compensation. One in our party had a broken foot and the other was a special needs adult. Being on a different floor and far from the side of the building with the concierge lounge made the day more difficult than necessary. We do not plan to visit the Marriott River center in the future.

The shower and sink water was cold for 25 minutes straight. The front desk replied, "Well, it is a really large property so you cant expect the hot water to get to every room." Enough said. Never staying here again.

Location is great. Only complaint was ice machines were not working on multiple floors, the Super Bowl game was a challenge for all of the guests due to not being able to hear the game due to lobby music( they said they did not know how to fix if nor did they even try) and the $60 per night valet parking was kind of high.

The facility is aging but still very well maintained. What looked like a homeless person was hanging around the sidewalk near the front….not exactly a Chamber of Commerce moment.

All good just needs more parking for large vehicles

The hotel gave the feeling of luxury without breaking the bank. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and properly stocked and the hotel offered many amenities. The beds and pillows were not comfortable however. This hotel has prime Riverwalk spot-connected the shopping mall, walking distance for almost everything downtown and opens up right onto the riverwalk. We were very pleased with our stay.

We had to move rooms twice become i ordered a King and they put us in a queen room twice! Also there mold in the vents in our room. I mentioned this twice and no one came to check despite saying they would. We also ended up with ants in our room....on the 35th floor. Again promises were made to check it and no one did anything. Staff was great overall. But didnt make up for it all. Also thry did comp one night but it was a drop in the bucket when we apent 3500. Stay in the nicer hotels. Theyre worth it. This place was not.

Great location to River Walk! We enjoyed our stay - the only thing we didn’t like was how certain elevators were designated for our floors and no buttons in elevators. It was confusing. But the hotel was over Al great beds and pillows very comfortable!

Great location. It has access to the Riverwalk where there are many restaurants to choose from. The hotel is bright, open, welcoming and clean. The outside looks quite dated whereas the inside looks modern. They must’ve done renovations recently. It looks great. The rooms are in great condition.
