    I am very sad to write this review as it is not my nature ... but I did discuss this matter with threw people and was assured that a manager would call. They have not. This hotel is dangerous to ones health as it is contaminated with MOLD ... black mold at that. It has the appearance of trying to be wiped down but that is not a proper remediation approach for BLACK MOLD. This mold was in the air vents, the doorways, hallways, the smell was in our room and hallways. This was on floor 12. We do have pictures to support this grave comment. I believe this to be Health hazard for humans and I am qualified to make that statement.

    The next morning I tried to talk to manager but not by in till noon. We did switch rooms and the second room. Was better. I did leave message for manager to contact me he never did. I also left voicemail for assistant manager to contact and she never did. Guessing they do. It care. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were very clean. The only issue they use the worse toilet paper ever.

    The only issue I had was that the phone in the room was not working, I discovered this when I tried calling the front desk because my thermostat it the room had stopped working, because it needed new batteries. They came and fixed the thermostat...and attempted to repair the phone, but I didn't need it anyway...but overall great hotel...thank you

    Let's start from the lobby: very clean, very welcoming. The room seemed clean, but it was not. The restroom was dirty, very dusty, and the shower had poor maintenance with a rusted tub and shower head. The door was missing pieces, as if something had chewed on it. The bed mattress was the worst part for me; you could feel all the coils. It was very bad; you could see it just by looking at the bed—it was all bumpy. It definitely needs a new mattress. And one thing I left wondering was if they had some type of bug because we left with bumps on our legs and arms. Do not recommend.

    The front desk clerk lady was very rude when we got there and as we checked out, she didn't have any clear confirmation on whether I was getting a deposit back or not, and they charge me also for the parking. She definitely needs training on customer service.

    So every odd floor has a working ice machine, not every floor… my room 1214 was okay for the rate I paid for. The bathroom door on the interior bottom looked like it had some scratches since this a pet friendly hotel could be someone animal was bitting away at the door. Other than that breakfast was okay, pretty similar to what other continental breakfast offered at other budget friendly hotels. They have private parking on site and valet but not free but they do allow in and out just ask the front desk for some extra passes. Pretty close walk to the river walk center & Alamo. The last thing to mention the water pressure is not the best could use some upgrade to that comes out good enough just not strong enough.

    Last two times we’ve stayed there the rooms were not clean properly. The furniture is very worn out. Fridge and microwave don’t work. Breakfast was good and the hotel overall was ok. We just got a crappy room.

    Due to the hotel being one of the host hotels for the 76th International Women’s Convention, the property was really crowded. The staff was excellent, just had to wait on the 3 elevators a lot. We love our king room setup even though the bathtub was old and the hot water wasn’t hot

    My wife and I had a great experience staying here. We recently got married and mentioned that in our booking details that we are on our honeymoon, and they made sure to make our stay with them extra special by providing some bubbly and petals and upgrading our room. The amenities and location are excellent. Definitely will be staying here again if we are in town and will be recommending to others. Everything was great.

    The hotel was clean, and the staff were professional, courteous, and helpful throughout my stay. The breakfast was satisfactory, and the location was excellent, within walking distance of both the Convention Center and the Riverwalk. However, the parking fees and hotel taxes were excessively expensive and significantly increased the overall cost of the stay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but the additional charges were disappointing.

    There were some slight issues when we checked in for the women’s convention. But they were fixed fairly quickly. The Breakfast was good for free breakfast. Just wish they could’ve changed up some of the meats (other than sausage) and breads and muffins. Mr. Matt was amazing and I really appreciated him and his Customer Service at the front desk.

    I made this reservation for my mom, the day of her checking in she called me do I could give her a confirmation number, I told her that it wasn’t necessary all she needed was her name at the front desk, I could hear her getting flustered because front desk girl did not speak a word of Spanish, my mom used her best broken English and was able to check in but I’m disappointed that a hotel in San Antonio of all places wouldn’t have a bilingual front desk person :(

    I didn't like the they only cleaned every 3 days and I was there for 5 days. I had to ask for cleaning crew to come in to clean the bathroom again my first night. I was not informed that there was a resort fee at the end of my check out and I also paid taxes and other fees. The breakfast layout was excellent. A few of the staff personality and character was excellent. I will recommend this place again as a stay now that I know that they do charge you a result fee. They say that they have a shuttle which they did not have available.

    My stay at La Quinta in San Antonio was disappointing overall. The room felt quite outdated, with scratched and worn furniture, an old stained carpet, and a mattress that seemed heavily used. The sheets also did not appear very clean, with visible stains and yellowing. The bathroom sink and shower showed significant wear and staining from age as well. Although the hotel is advertised as being near the Riverwalk and convention center, it was still a longer walk than I expected. Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay here again.

    The room was a different room from what i booked originally. They put me in a room that had wet carpet, probably by the AC leak, where the unit was installed under the window. Due to the wet carpet and closed room, the whole room stinks like you entered a public toilet. This was complained to the hotel and they did nothing about it except saying that they will let the management know. Parking is definitely a chaos. They have a daily extra fee of $17 that seemed totally unnecessary with the kind of experience I got. Parking per day is an additional $36. Overall, the experience was horrible and this hotel does not deserve the price that they charge for their rooms. Also, the call center gave me different information and the front desk had a different information. Not staying here next time and definitely dont recommend. Stay away from here, find a better place for the amount you pay.

    La peor experiencia que he tenido en un hotel, donde me sentí discriminada junto a mi familia por ser latina. Al hacer check out de la habitación de no fumadores, solicité el recibo, ya que no me lo entregaron. Al recibirlo me percaté que hicieron un cargo de $500.00 y al indagar sobre el mismo me indica el manager que en la habitación se había fumado, cuando claramente no fue así. Se le explica que nadie fuma y que había un infante en la habitación, pero dijo que no podía hacer nada al respecto por lo que no borraría el cargo. Además, hicieron otros cargos que no explicaron y el precio de la habitación fue mucho más de lo que reservé a través de la aplicación Expedia.

    The price you see is the price you pay they say. That is a lie. I was charged the price I was told I was to pay plus a franklin for "incidentals" to include a high dollar per night parking fee (no free parking) plus an additional fee. So the budget motel turned into a non-budget bill. What a joke. I should have stayed at a more expensive motel at least I would have had free parking and better amenities. False advertisement. Don't stay here unless you want to pay twice what you were told you would have to pay.

    The parking system is hell, the room doors don't open properly and the breakfasts are a terrible experience. Besides the monotonous menu the amount of people trying to get a bit of something reminds me the images of refugee camps! After many years this my last stay in a La Quinta hotel.

    We have stayed at this location before. We love the fact that there is a very nice outdoor pool area. We also like the complimentary breakfast which is full of many choices. The location to the RiverCenter mall & the Alamo is great The lobby area and pool area can become quite crowded and busy in late afternoon. If you don't like crowds, plan accordingly.

    I've stayed at all of the hotels in the vicinity of the convention center so I thought I'd give the La Quinta a try. Not the newest and shiniest, but for the location and service I would stay here again. Good value for your dollar. There was a leak in our bathroom and they upgraded our room to a suite.

    The air conditioners are old and emit a heavy smell of mold. I have traveled for a living and never had the type of allergies that I did at this hotel. Two sleepless nights, I had to leave early, couldn't handle more. That said the staff was extremely professional and thoughtful. My poor review is based on the property having mold not the staff.

    We got there and paid and AFTER we paid we were told about the paid parking requirement which was extremely complicated for no reason. And anyone can park there even if they’re not a guest so we had to walk across 2 parking lots just to get in/out. But it’s $36+ tax each night that it showed nowhere on the booking. It’s not even by the riverwalk , it’s a 20+ min walk. Theres not much breakfast options. Our room smelled sour and also AFTER our booking we were told they don’t even do room service unless you’re there for 3 plus days. Both toilet paper holders broke when getting tissue , the toilet didn’t even flush we had to toy with it , and the shower faucet was ghetto it sprayed water everywhere making a big mess. This was our anniversary weekend and having a crappy ghetto hotel ruined it. This was my first and last time staying here. Nobody in the front had any interest in fixing anything complaint wise either. Do yourself a favor and don’t do it.

    Unfortunately, the rooms needed attention with more thorough cleaning between guests. Although the rooms were neat in appearance, they really needed additional cleaning - especially the bathrooms where there was obvious grime and odors in the toilet and tubs/showers. The carpets were very soiled and had a persistent wet odor. The air conditioner was very loud and could not be adjusted on the lower floors. And then there was the problem with pests (a nymph and a roach). Management was apologetic for the inconvenience and compensated me (us) a percentage for half a day and temporarily moved me (us) to a higher floor. They then moved me (us) again to a lower floor the night before I (we) left. Although I have always enjoyed previous stays at numerous La Quinta facilities, I cannot say in good conscience that this is a facility I can give a good review nor recommend anyone to stay there.

    The shower was dirty and disgusting, the room smelled, and even after multiple requests they couldn’t bring me a new Kleenex box. I had to wait on hold and at the front desk just to speak to someone. I was there for a conference and stayed for two nights and left before the third. Don’t stay here unless you have no other choice.

    Our stay at this location was great. It is centrally located right in the middle of downtown with lots of things to do within walking distance. Food was on every corner, with a Denny's just across the parking lot from the hotel. The hotel was clean, as was our room. We went with the intention of attending Oyster Bake and the Fiestas, so we just stayed a couple of days. The breakfast options were great, and there was food readily available for everyone, even on the very high-traffic mornings. The pool and hot tub were open and clean, even though the weather did not permit us to use those amenities. The only thing that I would advise people who are considering this location is to be aware of the "paid parking" expectation. As of Jan 2026, this area is considered the "entertainment district," and the city has required all of these areas to charge for parking. It ran us $36 for 24-hour parking. However, we were allowed to "come and go" as many times as we needed. There may have been some other parking options in the area, but they just seemed like an inconvenience for us. Other than the unexpected parking arrangement, this stay was amazing!

    The property and room were well maintained. A lot of the furnishings were a bit outdated including the television and microwave. It felt like there was not enough staff at the front desk to handle the amount of guests coming in to check out/check in. Parking is also not included in your stay- it’s $36/night. They give you vouchers that let you come in and out but they charge parking on your bill at the end of your stay.

    Check in was quick, room was clean. They only do housekeeping every 3 days so be aware of that. We were only staying 2 nights so we weren't too worried. The weather didn't cooperate to allow us to use the pool at all, but it looked nice. The only thing I think they could improve on is breakfast. It's a big area but things are in odd places and they had the exact same things both mornings. Some variety would be nice, but it was sufficient to get something in my belly to start the day.

    The lobby area was fine and the location is good for easy access to the riverwalk. The lobby and common areas were fine. The breakfast service was limited choices but there was plenty of food stations to accommodate the large crowds. The staff was nice enough I guess, not rude, but not super polite. The room was in need of a deep cleaning. The main surfaces (countertops, furniture, floors) weren't visibly dirty but vents, corners, lampshades etc were dusty/dirty. The TV did not work. We ended up finishing our event early and were less than 3 hours from home so we decided to leave rather than spend another night. If the room had been better we would have stayed. I prepaid the room, so didn't ask for a refund. I had to pay more for parking than I should have. The sign clearly says under 24 hours is $36, and we left in under 24 hours, but the hotel said since we stayed over a night we had to pay $36 for overnight and by the hour for the time we stayed the next day. I'm not sure how you can stay 24 hours but not stay overnight, so I felt it should have only been $36. I asked about the extra charge but they weren't willing to refund it.

    The front desk people were very nice and pleasant. Hot Breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausages, and Texas shaped waffles, as well as fruit and cereal. I was surprised there was only white and wheat bread and no bagels or English muffins. Nice heated pool and a smaller 4-6 person hot tub. The room was clean and spacious. Maid service is only every 3 days unless you request more. The only criticism was on our last day, with a Noon late checkout, the housekeeper was knocking on the door at 10:45am and when we told her we had late checkout, knocking again at 11:45am

    The first room was not very good. We were given an upgrade which was nice. However, the hotel is in dire need of remodeling. The real issue is the amount billed versus what Hotels.com said we were to be billed. The hotel refused to supply a receipt nor any explanation as to the discrepancy in the charges. They supposedly charged us a destination fee and a recovery fee. What are those fees? Hotels.com was not at all helpful in resolving the issue. Pretty much said "too bad".

    The first room we got had a bad smell like so we got a different room. We were we paid $36 for parking for 2 night. We only got to park for 1 night. The second night when we got back from dinner the parking lot was full. The FAT lady at the parking area was yelling and saying we cant park there and being rude. She told us lot is full go find a differnt parking lot.

    Roomy and pretty comfortable. It did have issues with the televisions working, we had them come twice to fix. Good location. Nice bar for happy hour.     Well, my service Dog and I were put on the 14th floor, even though I booked weeks in advance. Apparently Travelers‘s on weekends have to wait for breakfast, we didn’t. Maybe rethink that. There are a lot of people leaving that didn’t get what they paid for. And $35 for parking for less than 24 hours. We won’t be back.

    Staff, trash can be pick up from room everyday and towels .. we have to go and ask for toilet paper. The restroom was flushing so slow, and not much water was cominh from the showerhead..     The lobby appears very clean and well-maintained upon entering the hotel however, the rooms do not reflect the same standard. The rooms are very outdated, and the bathroom felt old and poorly maintained. The shower, in particular, was not clean and was unpleasant to use. We stayed for one night, and I was relieved it was only for one night. Additionally, the hotel did not disclose a $100 nightly parking deposit until we arrived, which was disappointing.

    We had a very positive experience at La Quinta in Downtown San Antonio. The location is excellent—within easy walking distance of the Rivercenter Mall and the River Walk. The staff was friendly and responsive, with clear and helpful online communication before our stay. While the hotel is not a luxury property, it is well maintained, and the cleanliness was evident throughout the facility; housekeeping staff were consistently visible keeping common areas clean. Overall, it was a great value for our one-night stay with three adults, and we would definitely stay here again on a future trip.

    I checked in on a Saturday night. When I pulled up I could see the parking lot and lobby was extremely busy and didn’t really feel like dealing with it after a long drive. After I parked the car, I stood in line for about 10 minutes. When I approached the front desk clerk, I commented that I hope they didn’t give my room away. She assured me that they still had a room for me and was very nice with all the check in process.she also provided me with a free drink from the bar. The room was very clean. I don’t like that parking has to be paid for, but I don’t think it’s the fault of the hotel. I’m thinking it’s a city thing.

    Another very nice stay at the La Quinta near the River Walk and Alamo! We were upgraded to a Suite, which was a beautiful, clean, and stylish set of rooms. The lobby is open and welcoming, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool area was also very nice, with a heated spa. We will stay here any time we're back in San Antonio!

    There was no mention of all the extra charges so I'll save you all the trouble... First off, Parking was $37 per day, at the hotel they charge your credit card $100 for claims but website says $35 pending hold, breakfast was alright but it was so busy that we couldn't rush to our room fast enough, elevators were barely working(i only used elevator 2 for both days we stayed and didn't see anyone else using other elevators either) and the room was alright but you could literally hear everything all around you... Save yourself the trouble and the money and stay somewhere else instead.

    I had to switch rooms because of the gross yellow stains in the bathtub that were everywhere. The room I got switched to have black all over the bottom of the tub with more yellow stain.     We were there for 3nights, the front desk staff were great the first 2 days, when I requested by phone a late check out I was told it’d be $50 extra! I also requested a late checkout to noon at the front desk, a young man wrote it down on a paper, but the next morning we were locked out at 11. Then on the last night something in the plumbing broke and we only had scalding hot water! Maintenance came up right away but they couldn’t fix it.

    My problem was no one let me know (text or otherwise) so l left a very nice lunch with my wife get back to the hotel by 2:00 to get into a room that was not ready. A text notification would have been nice. We waited at the hotel for an hour and a half. Again its not the fact that things are not on time. It's the failure to communicate that to me.

    The service and price were amazing. The room was somewhat outdated and had older furniture with obvious signs of wear and tear, but that did not have a significant effect on the quality of my stay. Overall the staff was great, I had no issues, and the stay was enjoyable.

    In my room the shower head was very hard to use. Maintenance used pliers to lift latch to make it work and even then the water was still coming out the bottom faucet. The phone in the room did not work. I reported it to front desk but no one came to check it.

    Service was great. People at the front desk were great, friendly, and very professional. Room wise, not for price we paid: toilet had stains, shower had stains, not a lot of cleaning detailing. Location of the hotel is great, but the bathroom condition was not proper for the price we paid.

    Asked for room away from the elevator, was put in a handicap accessible room which I was not a fan of because if someone needed an accessible room, one should available for them. The front desk had an attitude before I even walked up to the counter. The air conditioning was so loud I couldn’t even hear the TV. The furniture was awkwardly placed in the room, wasn’t even pushed to the wall.

    Very nice hotel for the price, exceeded my expectations. A few noticeable areas needing repair in the room (torn curtain, stained couch), bathroom (stained, worn out tub) and elevators, but otherwise, great. Great location, walking distance to many restaurants, Riverwalk, Alamo, and Alamodome. Great breakfast! Friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.

    The location of this property is excellent. Close to The river walk and other attractions but yet not very close with all the tourists walking around. It is well maintained and the staff were great and very friendly.
