I don’t understand the name!!! How can you call this place Royalty? It is a S..t hole. I was staying at Othon Palace (amazing hotel) but wanted to stay a week more in Rio but their wouldn’t have the first two nights available so I went there. The bed was dirt with blood stains on it, the sink and the mirror was broken, the toilet was broken you couldn’t use it, their had to sent a guy that made it worse. The place was a nightmare. I couldn’t stay over there so I went back to the Windsor in that I was staying before moving to Othon Palace in Copacabana. I left my luggage over there as I was coming back to Othon, I spoke to a gentleman at the reception regarding the check out and he sid not to worry as I could do the check out until noon. I arrived there just before noon and their wanted to charge me R$400( the cash deposit that their take from you at the check in). I explained to them that I had spoken with the receptionist and he guarantee me that was no problem whatsoever, but was no negotiation, I had to write a complaint letter for them to give the money back.

Did not meet my expectations. disappointing and disgusting. Bathroom poor condition. Taps leaking, toilet system unstable needed to be repaired hair dryer broken replaced, air conditioner faulty - cannot be repaired...was replaced . Handyman was very supportive and helpful, very polite and pleasant Unlike the guy at the reception. We requested another room. He refused we put up the inconvenience..we were not in a comfort zone The sound from the neighbors especially from the rest room was very disturbing No public bar and restaurant...had to go out for supper. Same breakfast every day..not up to my expectations. Room was only cleaned after 3pm. Inconvenienced us. No ice cubes available in the hotel. We bought from the supermarket. We had to request for an invoice. Very inefficient. We paid on arrival. No receipt. On departure told that we owe them a balance. Most gratifying were the 2 female receptionists. They understood our plight, were apologetic, helpful, caring and humbly polite. My gratitude ? to them. The accommodation didn't mean my expectations . Not worth the money I paid. Very unfair. The pictures on internet are not the true reflection of what we experienced. Will not recommend it to anyone. Will send pictures when I get back home

The lobby was beautiful but as soon as you stepped off the elevator you could tell the rest of the property was very dated.

Staff was friendly The hotel is so outdated and expensive. It’s a total ripoff. The outdoor noise is so loud that we thought the windows were open, but they were closed. The bathroom was dirty, even after told the front office - it hasn’t been cleaned the week except towels changed. Toilet was dirty when we checked in. There was mold In the shower. The ceiling was and door was old and rotten as well the frame of the mirror. Such simple things to change and maintenance. This says there is totally no soul and hospitality mind in this entire property. We never be back.

Nothing If you like cockroaches in your toilet, shower, bed, on the walls, in your open bags, and in the halls, this is the right place for you. I have stayed in 1 dollar hostels in India that are cleaner than this place. Absolutely filthy. We have argued with staff about the upkeep of the room and agreed to an extermination team to come in and get rid of the cockroaches. After a day out, it looked like it was in an okay condition, but appearances are tricky. Before going to bed on the second day, we found multiple cockroaches (again) in the bathroom as well in our bed. These animals are so intertwined with ,seemingly, the whole building that it is a miracle no one has contacted a disease so far. The staff couldn't care less. I spoke to Frederique (the French nightmanager on sunday) and had a very short and very rude answer. Can't do anything now. Basically, suck it up buttercup. I've been trying to talk to him with my brazilian girlfriend around but he kept on refusing to speak english to me and would only talk with her in portugués even tho he speaks perfect English. We paid more than 150 euros per night (during carnaval) for a subpar filthy hotel with absolutely no service. The bathroom was mouldy, open electrical sockets in the room (don't take your kids here, they will get electrocuted), and cockroaches in every place emaginable. The hotel provided nothing but an almost empty pest spray. Wouldn't recommend anyone coming here.

Staff: The staff is very inconsistent. Gentleman checked me in was great professional. Other staff was pretty rude anytime I came to the desk.. arrogant people. Breakfast: the breakfast has been changed at this hotel. Plates went to kids plates and every items are cut into such a small pieces.. it's a miniature breakfast. Room: Bed was dirty, everything in this room is just filthy.. if you ask them about it they are in denial. Wifi: no wifi in rooms ever work. Only on hallways.. Bathroom: ceiling falling apart and mold everywhere . Room: rooms on the 1st floor balconies open up to a wall instead of a view and makes the room being in dark all day.

Good price for the city and time of year. Check in and check out proces was slow and painful. Not enough staff working and you have to wait for someone to go to your room and make sure everything is there before you can leave.

The property is very well located. The view of the forest is gorgeous. AC works well. The room is comfortable and the shower is good The breakfast has low quality items. Artificial juices. No pao de queijo which is a must in Brazil. No toaster.
