Mengo Palace Hotel

Excellent location It was a nice breakfast, but it was almost the same every day.

The bed was good and the location too. - The shower was terrible, water came out of it in every direction but not downwards, taking a shower was very hard. - Breakfast was very disappointing, not many things and quality was a 5/10. - Wi-Fi was TERRIBLE everywhere in the hotel, like really terrible, nothing loaded. - Staff during the day was not very receptive and nice, although the guys working at night were very friendly and helpful - It is not worth as better hotels in the region for the same price offer better services and accommodation.

I really like the stuff, location, and size of the rooms. The rooms are more like a small apartment with a lot of space. I don’t have any dislike that could affect the hotel scores.

Stuff is very nice and helpful. Location and breakfast is ok. Room is too small that you can’t open the door fully, it’s hits the bed. In general they need to renovate the hotel.

I was put in a room with milky glass windows and an airconditioner that made a lot of noise. The hotel was full so they could not give me another room. Decided this was the last time for me to stay here as I did not sleep well.

Conveniently located in a vibrant neighborhood with plenty of shops, groceries, restaurants all within a 3 min. walk. Rio metro is also 3 min. away providing easy and quick access to Copacabana, Botafogo and the city center. Additionally, close to Rio's famous sights like Sugarloaf and Corcovado mountains and all the beaches. Plenty of choices for breakfast. Not enough toiletries, bathroom came with a couple of cheap soaps and no shampoo. Apart from that no complaints.

Good location and the staff are helpful. Relatively clean and tidy, good value for the price. Had an issue with the room 503 which had a window, that leads into an internal cavity where other rooms windows opened out to. The room above had a person smoking out the window, and coughing which sounded like they were in the next room to us. I did complain to the reception but they either didn’t believe me or chose to ignore it. I also have video evidence to back up my claim. I still think the hotel is decent if you can get another room without a window, but this soured the experience for the first night. They should get the windows boarded up and painted, this would likely resolve the issue.

it was a great location, it has gym option which is a great gym. facilities a little outdated but is a good value for money

The staff and the location are definitely the best from the hotel. Special thanks to Diego at the reception desk. Great conversation. Staff from the breakfast as well, very polite people. Bed linen wasn’t proper cleaned, you could easily see some dark spots and the mattress is old which clearly can been seen by its color and shape. Bathroom is way too dark, where you can see at the shower some unclean spots. Television must be upgraded asap. The image is worst unfortunately. Breakfast is located in a tiny room, although the food is good, which everything very well made.

Breakfast, friendly staff, clean, location., I like 90% . I recommend Old mattress and mattress stuff.
