Location A little pricey

Half the elevators are broken, construction work is underway, and hammering can be heard everywhere. The facility is old, and the service is absurd: you order breakfast, and they bring everything out all at once—including hot dishes that go cold and chilled items that melt.

This is my go-to in Rio. I stayed in the Suite on a previous visit and was nervous that a standard room would be a letdown, but it was amazingly comfortable. The rooftop pool and bar have the best view I've seen in Ipanema — the entire coastline from Arpoador to Leblon with Dois Irmãos in the background. The staff were great, the location is perfect right at the Arpoador end of the beach, and the vibe is more relaxed than the bigger hotels. The rooftop became my home base and I didn't want to leave. I'll be back.

It is a cool property and beautiful views. The bed was comfortable. In dire need of maintenance, stained floors and curtains. Windows not sound proof, I could hear every car, bus and boombox that drove by. To crown my stay, I had no hot water to shower in the morning. I was truly disappointed as this used to be my favorite property in Rio. Had been to the hotel many many times. The gentleman at checkout only asked: did you call anyone?

EVERYTHING! It’s the best location in Rio by far, just between Copacabana & Ipanema. There is NO ROAD between the hotel and beautiful Ipanema beach. I think it may be the only hotel in Rio with this distinction. 10-15 minutes to Corcovado and Pão de Açucar. The hotel and rooms are lovely and well appointed (not fussy or fancy, just right). Intimate. The restaurant practically sits on the beach. Staff is SO nice and attentive without ever being intrusive. They were so good and fun with me speaking Portuguese. The food in the restaurant is quit good. The rooftop has an outrageous view, especially for sunset and very nice pool. Restaurant menu is served there. Can’t imagine staying anywhere else when in Rio. Nada, really!!

Location and decor Nothing

Amazing location. Beach service for drinks and chairs (the only freindly staff is here), balcony views, bikes. Nothing worked, gym closed, only 1 working elevator for guests/staff, steam room was extremely hot and half the staff not friendly. The pool is a joke and dirty, small rooms. The hotel restaurant seems to be popular, the lobby is tinny, it gets really crowded! Def not woth the 350 dlls per night.

I loved the location on the beach with no road in between the hotel and the beach. Breakfast and other meals were excellent quality. Staff was very nice and as efficient as possible for our large group of 35. A little worn out but totally acceptable. Many guests just coming for the restaurant was a little overwhelming.

Great location, the beach is the best spot in Ipanema - quiet , relaxing, not crowded. Hotel is top notch in service and rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is 10/10

Love the location, in Ipanema but no street in front... it has a walking are on the front and is by the beach. The decorations is beautiful, a lot of light, white and wood. Views are fantastic all over, especially at the pool. Loved the Yoga. And the breakfast is top of the line. I liked everything.

the small room is very small

Everything was amazing—the location, the breakfast (absolutely out of this world)! The restaurant menu was exquisite, but above all, the staff was incredible. I’m not exaggerating.

Breakfast, location, the design of the hotel and the staff at both restaurant and reception. We barely slept… we booked a room with city view and there is absolutely zero isolation. We could even smell people smoking on the street. Had to sleep with earplugs and take sleeping pills because it was super noisy. For the price it is very very problematic. Please add double glazing .. it was our last night in brazil ouf of 3 weeks and the worst sleep we had for the most expensive room.

The location is UNBEATABLE , the views, the food, the staff, everything was absolutely perfect. The breakfast was exceptional and the staff are so friendly. The rooftop “pool” was being renovated for our entire stay… the gym is a closet.. but these are minor issues.

We loved the location, beautiful hotel and great service. Exceptional food, clean and simple. The booking experience was very pleasant and easy however, we did make a few requests in advance that were not done. I mentioned to hotel three times about the bed configuration as my sis and mom wanted twin beds but they still had double beds. So just be aware to still call hotel before to remind about that. A small detail though in a great stay.
