Baymont by Wyndham Odessa University Area

This can not really be a Wyndham supported property. I really should have known what I was getting by the big NO Refunds sign on the wall behind the desk. I booked a single but was given a two bed room that had a kitchenette on the ground floor. The furniture honestly looked like it was found on a curb; it was filthy and broken- the dresser drawer fronts falling off and all the edges of the tables curling up. The shower knob was non-existent and the cloth shower curtain and ceiling were moldy. I wouldnt touch the window curtains that were about 5 years late to be washed. Packaging tape was holding up the backsplash behind the sink and stove. I saw cockroaches near the refrigerator. I didn't dare put my bag down especially after seeing the bug carcasses around the bed. It was more like an abandoned house that had squatters in it. The lady at the front desk who was very nice took me to a different room, and again, since there were no refunds, I thought I would tough it out just to get me to the flight out of Midland the next morning. This 2nd story room wasn't as bad, it was still dirty, the door obviously kicked in at some point with the slide chain inside torn off, the curtains torn, window with smeared and the bubbles on the side tables gave crack cooking vibes, the tv didn't work, the chair color undetermined because of the layer of filth with large unpainted patches on the walls. Then I saw another cockroach outside on the walkway, but that was enough. I left. 80$ lost!

Although we stayed for a single night (luckily), the stay was unexpected and uncomfortable :( Definitely not a place to stay if you have a family with kids and staying longer than a night. Look elsewhere!

Bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. I slept very well. Workers very nice Painted tub had huge paint chips blocking the drain. I had to clean it out to bathe… it was cleaned well inside the old room but stairway and concrete need a power washing. Very nice people though!

They let crackhead stay l, extremely loud and obnoxious all night

The rooms, mattresses, and linens were all old. Plugs didn't work, window unit AC was damaged (loud but functioning), holes in sheets and towels. The saving grace was the one time pet fee.

Property had a smell of cigarette's smokes mostly. They did not have towels which was surprising. Even when asked they told we might get in the morning when house keepers come at 8:30 am only. Breakfast is open only till 8:30 am. Given all this i was surprised Hotels.com charged $85 for the night. But when I was checking in it was only $55 per night or so. And its not worth more than $55 for sure. Not a hotel for families. Bathroom was clean. Breakfast is good.

When you book, listing/rooms are inaccurate. I booked a king suite and it said it had a kitchenette but room did not. I went to front desk showed my receipt as well as what the room said it had. After staff spoke in their language, minutes later I got a Queen suite which was in terrible shape. Torn dirty couch, TV mount full of debris, bedroom tv did not work, wall plug for the microwave did not work, etc. I would not recommend and will definitely not stay again.

I would not recommend this this hotel to anyone to do anything in it. It was horrible and we didn’t even stay the second night. We just left that next morning. We didn’t even call for a refund because there’s a big sign at the front of the building front office this is no refunds we had to go get another room Somewhere else.

They ran out of tissues towels where not clean roaches

This room was in terrible shape. The beds were shot and sagged in the middle. Didn't have a shower curtain or a remote. After we got that taken care of the water would turn on in the shower enough to even shower. Was disappointing. Stayed there last month in another room that was comfortable. The lack of shower and very worn out beds.

We would probably never stay there again there was so much noise outside people yelling, talking lot. Just an overall bad experience!!!!

Hotel was old. Used to be something else. Baymont put their name on it. Security lock did not work. No elevator. No Kleenex. One of the lamps did not work. Breakfast was poor. No hair dryer. Could not figure out the TV. Will not stay there again.

The booking was actually for my son who stayed the last 5 days in room 117 and has been bitten by bed bugs from head to toe. He's stayed on other occasions and its been decent, but this is really bad

it was terrible. There’s a lot of druggies but stay there. They put you on the do not rent list for no reason I’ve done everything. They asked me to do. They say they’re pet friendly but they’re not. I had a dog and that’s why I’m on the do not rent list. I’ve cleaned up after that dog. They’re just a terrible place to go to. I would not recommend going here.

The space was nice, but the place was falling apart. There was water leaking from the floor. The shower didn’t work and there was rust in the bathtub. When you turned on the water for the shower it came out of the wall. We paid for a week and only stayed one night. We my husband went to ask for a refund for the nights we weren’t going to stay they refused until their higher ups got involved.

Most things were in disrepair: tv remote didn’t work well, drawer couldn’t stay shut, tub faucet was coming out of the wall, no water pressure, toilet flusher was loose to the point of sticking while down, there was a visible gap between the room’s door frame and the door allowing outside air to get in/warm air to get out (in cold months)

These hotel owner manager as well as two of the front desk clerk were very unprofessional rude racist and greedy they only want you to pay them cash so it’s tax free if you use the booking portal they add extra deposit. The cancelled my reservation because when I had a room change because the 110 room they put me in the plumbing was poor and stopped up the hot water did not work and it was freezing that night and the heat didn’t work. They failed to check the room after I turned in my keys and told them I packed my stuff so they never mentioned someone in the room the following morning which was unknown to me because they were supposed to check and secure the under maintenance room instead they said nothing and called the police at 11 didn’t even tell me the refused my reservation so I could make preparations to rebook they had no remorse and literally kept the deposit that was enough to cover the cost of the room and accused me of things that were not true it’s a bad area with illegal activity be careful zero stars from me

We were told that we could not rent there again put on the do not list because somebody came into the old room that we had switched to how is it our fault overall stay uncomfortable and probably never been there again even if I wasn't banned

We were told that we could not rent there again put on the do not list because somebody came into the old room that we had switched to how is it our fault overall stay uncomfortable and probably never been there again even if I wasn't banned

This was definitely a get what you pay for. Non Smoking room smelt like cigarettes, stained sheets, and a cockroach in the restroom. When mentioned to front staff they excused with weather conditions. Would not recommend and would not stay again.

Horrible smelly unclean room. AC didn’t work properly. Uncooperative front desk staff.. and sketchy people hanging about the hotel like it was an apartment complex in the projects. Go ahead and splurge an extra 20 dollars to avoid this dump. You deserve it

Room had not been mopped, hair in tub, bed covers wrinkled.

The room was ran down door was broken there were not 2 ways to lock the door the restroom was missing tiles broken pieces the restroom door was broken

I would not stay here again. It was loud and the bed was very uncomfortable. Also, the door would not open like it was supposed to.

For starters the bed was horrible, lumpy mattress sunken in, the pillows super flat, the first night there was no hot water to take a shower overall not a good experience.

Well in addition to the hot water being off for the motel, we had a hole in the wall, dirty tub, the door locked broken into, and the fridge didnt stay cold. The sheets were rinkled and it seems as though someone just left this room. 😳

Filthy, needs renovation, and a staff that cares. Bathtubs made us feel more dirty just looking at them, they may not have been cleaned since the last time The Cowboys won the Superbowl! The breakfast was inedible, the waffle machine made crispy over cooked on the outside and raw still liquid inside, and staff couldn’t care less. Owners need to take a step back and look at what is going on there.
