Location was good for different places to visit. I was within walking distance to all major attractions and advice on where to eat was provided - although it felt a little more catered towards places that were beneficial to the hotel and possible commission earned rather than the guest. My recent stay was nothing short of disappointing and fell well below the standards I would expect from a hotel that I have previously stayed at. From the outset, communication was extremely poor. Requests were either ignored or met with significant delays, particularly from the concierge team. When I requested a room change due to concerns with the newly refurbished room, I was assured I would receive a return call. That call never came. The complete lack of follow-up demonstrated a disregard for guest concerns and left me feeling entirely overlooked. The newly refurbished rooms especially the bathrooms are poorly designed. While the refurbishment may look modern on the surface, the layout is impractical, uncomfortable, and clearly prioritises aesthetics over functionality. It was one of the worst layout I have experienced. To make matters worse, black bin bags were left just inside my bedroom before the bathroom for an extended period, creating an unsightly and unhygienic impression. This is not something any guest should have to encounter, particularly at a hotel charging premium rates. The contents were not from me At no point was I informed that roads around the hotel would be closed due to a local event. As a result, my travel plans were severely disrupted, causing me to arrive late for a pre-booked Broadway show and miss the entire first half of the performance. This was a significant financial and personal disappointment that could have been easily avoided had the hotel taken the simple step of informing guests in advance. Overall, this stay was characterised by poor communication, inadequate customer service, disappointing room design, and a lack of attention to basic guest needs although they did try to make amends with a comp late check out and breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel with the current issues I experienced.

Really happy we chose the Waldorf..... definitely the place to stay for a luxurious break in New York, we visited a few other iconic hotels and the Waldorf is a cut above...... in general a excellent service level as you would expect and I would like to highlight Sarah who looked after us several evenings in Peacock Alley... great job!!! One or two very minor cleaning issues in the room.... mainly the in room tea / coffee making facilities .... we expect high end prices in Manhattan of course but coffee at breakfast was stretching things a little .... and the 1 small extra sausage even more...... and we are used to Zurich prices :)

Excellent location in Midtown Manhattan with easy access to attractions, shopping, and dining. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive throughout my stay. The facilities were of a high standard and contributed to an enjoyable experience. There was very little to dislike. As expected for a luxury property in Manhattan, rates are on the higher side, but the overall experience, service, and location were consistent with expectations.

Service was inconsistent and lacked the attentiveness and sophistication you would expect from a world-class New York hotel. Much of the atmosphere seemed geared toward influencers and TikTok content creation rather than discerning travelers looking for comfort, elegance, and a meaningful enhancement to their NYC visit. At these rates, I expected timeless luxury, seamless service, and a sense of hospitality that elevated the experience. Instead, it often felt performative and transactional. There are many hotels in New York that deliver far better value, stronger service, and a more authentic luxury experience.

The room was quality and the room service staff where great. Upon arriving at hotel, when I was in reception queue a man who seemed more like a security guard told me to come to another desk away from other guests. With the check in process, I used my preferred name which I always do which has one letter different to my passport and they had an "issue" they asked to see my booking on the app which I showed and they needed me to wait. They didnt hand back my passport or credit card and I had 2 security guards "not watching me". After about 15 mins I asked for my bags as the bell boy had them and I was separated from my bags. They then said they will be in the room. So I was sitting there for atleast 20 mins without my passport, credit card or luggage with security around me. They told me that it was a security issue due to high profile guests staying there. I travel alot for work and stay in alot of high end hotels and to be "made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome" like this for the rate I was paying is shocking. And never had an issue with one letter of my id being different to the booking name. Imagine arriving at a hotel after a intercontinental flight and not given your passport, credit cards back and being separated from bags and when requesting them back that they dont give them to you? Where they searching my bags without my consent? Even when I left the door man didnt even open the door for me when there was noone around and had my bags. Then once outside I had to come inside to ask him to help me put my bags in the Uber whilst he simply watched me from inside instead of helping. This was clearly calculated making a guest have a negative experience as I am not their clientele. I felt super uncomfortable at the hotel my whole stay and didnt enjoy the facilities. And I strongly suggest any guests that dont fit the normal profile of the hotel to not go there. I have contacted the hotel directly as this is quite serious for which I have heard nothing.

The iconic Waldorf Astoria exceeded every expectation my wife and I had going into our visit. We were treated like royalty the moment we arrived. Everything about the hotel was simply perfect. Drinks in Peacock Alley were superb and breakfast in the new Lex Yard was outstanding. I truly believe this is a hotel that everyone needs to experience at least once in their lifetime. Absolutely worth every penny!
