This was a quick trip for 2 nights. The value of what I received felt better than other properties. My room had a city view, a microwave, and a refrigerator. It also included a nice full breakfast minus the tip and tax. I would definitely stay again. It is also located within four to 6 blocks of all of the best broadway shows.

The desk staff and management were absolutely wonderful and pleasant. The property is located in a great area and central to everything. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were updated and nice.

Great room. Helpful staff. Don’t valet park. Called for car, was told 20-30 minutes. 50 minutes later they brought wrong car. Right car arrived 15 minutes after that.
- 3/5
Just average. The rooms are small, no sheer curtains (so no privacy with the curtains open), no ice machines on floors. Restaurant closes early. The safe in my room malfunctioned, took a day to resolve. Overall not terrible, but there are better options close by.
- 3/5
The room was clean but small (I guess typical NYC room size). Staff were polite and pleasant; however, what bothers me and my group was the “complimentary” wine. We were not informed by staff that it’s not actually free as you are charged an extra $50 per night whether or not you drink the wine. Nice breakfast (although expensive) at the next door restaurant. You get a voucher for one free breakfast, but still expensive. Good location in proximity to subway.

The room was extremely spacious. The upgrades (late check out and larger room) were fantastic!

I stayed here previously and chose to return, but this visit was disappointing. My room had a smashed TV, and the hotel had no water for a full day. On Sunday morning, a housekeeper was loudly on FaceTime outside the rooms while waiting to clean, which was disruptive. Overall, the property feels run down and in need of renovation. Basic amenities were missing—no slippers or robe—and the WiFi was unreliable; I had to repeatedly call for resets before being given access to the staff network.

Central location, the room was pretty and towels and bathroom feel luxurious. The treadmill space was comfortable, liked wine in the lounge area. There was no hot water one morning but the manager compensated for it. The furniture needs an update or refresh. The breakfast policy. We never made breakfast a priority and missed it each day

Despite some mixed reviews, we chose this Midtown Manhattan hotel and were not disappointed. It offers good value for its prime location. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was spotty WiFi in our room, but since we stayed over the weekend and weren’t working, it wasn’t an issue. Overall, we recommend it.

Rachel is very warm-hearted, Attentive and approachable. She made checking in go very smoothly. She graciously upgraded our room as well, and we were grateful. I am sure all their rooms are just as beautiful as the one we had. Everything was spotless, clean and comfortable. Room temperature was set perfectly. Bathrooms we stocked well with toiletries. Honestly no complaints. We had the best sleep in years (as parents to 4 children) we couldnt have picked a better hotel to stay in overnight. We will be returning again! We had a wonderful stay!
- 3/5
Good location but zero security at the front desk and entrance. Rooms not kept clean each day . Floors not cleaned every day. Free breakfast for my wife and I only included “ one plate” .
- 4/5
The staff here are what make the property. Rooms are somewhat jaded, bathrooms are great. Good location. 'Resort tax' just feels like a backdoor way to hike the room rate.

Great staff, great hotel and close to Grand Central
- 3/5
The room was clean but very dark with few lamps and no introductory booklet about how tv etc. worked and no info about nearby places to eat etc. The staff was sometimes indifferent and sometimes helpful. It was not the services that I have always received in hotels. Also no door man and no lobby. One of the desk people was very hard to understand what he was saying.

I love the location in proximity to the conference I attended. I loved the lounge area and overall, the staff and their customer service was top tier. I didn't like the selection of food at breakfast. Had it not been for the voucher that I added to my stay, I would have eaten out for breakfast everyday. The staff during breakfast were incredibly kind, but I felt that the breakfast titles and descriptions were elaborate but what came on the plate was something quite basic including the taste. Luckily, Ole and Steen was right in front of the hotel so if I didn't want to use my voucher I could just eat there for breakfast as well.

The room was in a great location. We really liked our balcony, it was the best part of the room. We didn’t book a balcony room so that upgrade was great! The kitchen area is useless. Dishwasher but no dishes. Coffee carafe but no coffee pot. Everything was half broken and could use a replacement. Bathroom was spacious but 1 washcloth for 3 people for 2 nights? Also, only 2 towels each night. There’s no lobby just a little desk for check in. We didn’t try the restaurant. They give a $25 voucher for breakfast but each breakfast is $32 plus full price for other guests. It’s not a buffet so I’m not sure what you get for $32. In summary, it’s an excellent location and the balcony was great but for the price, we’ll try somewhere else next time. Kitchen, not enough towels and overall cleanliness

2nd year in a row staying at 48 lex. The location of the hotel is amazing, you’re in walking distance of many things. The price of the rooms for the location is more than reasonable. We booked a queen room but got upgraded to a king for no extra cost. They have a very nice lounge area and the rooms are clean, maybe a little worn in some spots, but acceptable. The best part is the staff, they are all very friendly and help you with anything you need.

I have eaten at the bar/restaurant on several occasions and was in again when I decided to stay another night in NYC because of the blizzard, so this was my first stay at the hotel. It was a nice large room that was well appointed. The staff in the restaurant are amazing and the front desk person was professional and charming. I don't know why I had never stayed at the hotel before as I go to NYC often as CT is a pretty quick train ride. I will def be adding this hotel to my little list of acceptable hotels to stay at while in the city. I definitely reccommend this property.

This hotel is not a 4.5 star hotel by any means. The mattress was very old and springy. Shower pressure was weak. Coffee cups were dirty and stained. Didn’t have spoons or mixing sticks. Chair had a lot of debris and crumbs on it. Closet door handles were sticky and dirty. The room door had a pretty large gap between it and the floor. You could hear everything in the hallway, especially the rattling or the pipes and elevator doors. Constantly woke up by it and the large clank and hiss when the heat would turn off. You’re better off staying a Hilton garden inn or similar.

The hotel was clean and the staff was attentive. The negative was the valet parking which was very expensive and there was an additional charge to take the car in and out. We also were not able to take advantage of the breakfast every more because the restaurant did not honor hotel guests unless you sat at the counter. Tables were reserved for the restaurant guests!! I mentioned this to the hotel and they said that the manager would get in touch with me. We were there for four days and heard nothing. We were expecting a credit because we had to eat off premises.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. For the price we paid I had much higher expectations. I arranged through the hotel to be picked up from the airport. They forgot about us and didn’t show up for an hour yet we were still charged full price by the cab company. I’m not sure if the hotel or the cab company was at fault because neither took ownership. The hotel attendant did give us a room upgrade and that is the only reason I’m giving this hotel two stars. The staff was very nice. As far as the hotel goes, it’s outdated the room was not that clean. The full wall of windows made it very drafty. I guess the windows need to be sealed. The walls have scratches and scuffs on it and the carpet was really gross and dingy. They give you a $25 breakfast voucher for one person per day and the food at the restaurant below the hotel was not that great and super expensive. You have to pay the extra taxes and tip so the meal is not exactly free. Again I’m only giving this hotel two stars because the hotel staff was very nice and friendly. I would not recommend this hotel or stay there again.

The rooms were very small. I booked the executive studio and it was tiny. It was very clean but the internet was sporadic and in one of the rooms I stayed in the HVAC was fairly noisy. Once I lowered the room temperature that seemed to improve. The entrance is only from the side and the doors are very heavy. The reception desk is open 24 hrs which is nice. Not sure why they charge a resort fee because it's not a resort at all. They give you a breakfast voucher for $25 but the breakfast costs $32 plus a tip and tax which is ridiculous. The rooms on their website are called Salons which is very confusing what someone is getting. There's no hot tub or a pool. There's no view to speak of, and as with many other hotels, the pictures on their website look significantly better. It's not a bad hotel by any means but it resembles more apartment building than a hotel proper. The room sizes, the resort fees and one of the staff members was a little rude.

The hotel adds an additional $50 per night to the total room cost to be paid on checkout. It’s in the small print. They clearly do this to make the room more competitively priced when you search. WiFi barely worked in the room. Breakfast is expensive and very average.

This was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at in New York. On checkout day, I left my luggage at the front desk to pick up later. When I returned, one of my suitcases was missing. The staff had no control over stored luggage — they didn’t ask for any claim ticket, were rude, and seemed completely unbothered. After a long wait, an employee told me he had taken some suitcases to other rooms. To find mine, the staff started opening occupied rooms, saying “no one’s here, let’s go in,” and even let me walk in to look through everything myself. It was shocking and unsafe. The way they entered rooms so casually showed that the hotel has zero security — anyone could access guests’ belongings without supervision. The staff refused to take responsibility and even threatened not to return my things when I complained in the lobby about how poorly they handled the situation. The facilities are also disappointing. They charge a $50 “resort fee” that makes no sense: only one elevator works, the gym is very poor, the bar is unpleasant, and the restaurant hostess — where you’re supposed to use a breakfast credit — was rude and refused to honor coupons. On top of that, I noticed the safe in my room had been tampered with. I strongly advise against staying at Lex 48. The service is terrible, the facilities don’t justify the price, and the lack of security is alarming. There are many bett

Location is fantastic, overall fairly quiet hotel, beds and pillows were so comfortable I looked for the labels on them to buy myself (same for toiletries!), wine in the lounge from 5-7 is a very nice touch! Appreciated an upgrade at check-in, restaurant/bar on first floor very nice.

The room was very clean and I had house keeping come and refresh everything daily. The dish washer was a tad bit dirty but it's New York so we ate out a lot and didn't need to was dishes so it didn't interfere with our stay. Overall this hotel hit every box for us! Definitely our new ho to spot!

Overall wonderful stay! My husband and I go to NYC often and this time decided to switch up neighborhoods and stay at 48Lex. Front desk as wonderful. And it didn't hurt we got a nice upgrade. The room was one of the bigger rooms we've had in the city. Super comfortable and wonderful view. We had a voucher for the breakfast which was delicious. Overall wonderful stay and would definitely stay again.

The room was spacious, quiet and pretty clean. The room description is a bit misleading. I had a premium king and the listing stated there was a coffee maker and bathrobes. Neither were present in my room. I actually choose where I book based on a coffee maker so that was a let down. The kettle and steep coffee aren't the same. Overall I was content with my stay.

I was pleased with this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised with the voucher that I used for breakfast at Cognac restaurant. The breakfast was freshly prepared and good portion size. The room/suite was spacious and had a small kitchen that came in handy. The only inconvenience was that only one elevator was working. A long wait for elevators. I would stay here again.

Not as pictured. The room was aged and worn. I had a larger room with a sitting area. The bathroom was not clean at all. Hairs on the toilet seat, and I did not want to take my shoes off to walk on the floors, which were so dirty. I was only there 2 nights and not spending much time in the room...Otherwise, I would have left.

The location and the central suite room view was great, cozy and comfortable, very clean. Wine tasting with snacks in the lounge was a really nice perk. Staff were super friendly, got us checked in early, and housekeeping was so prompt when we needed something. $25 daily credit had very limited usage, could only use it during breakfast hours in the restaurant and dishes were $32.

The hotel is in a great location with a very nice restaurant on the first floor. I wish they had a coffee bar in the morning.
- 4/5
It was a nice room I only wish they had a freezer in the fridge.
- 1/5
The room and building itself was nice. What I didn’t like was how the charges weren’t very known, for example my receipt said $100 was to be paid on the property because it was an $100 resort fee. I ended up paying $300 and about another $57 per person fee as well which I didn’t see stated. Along with that the breakfast was not worth it because both people were not able to use the breakfast voucher since it only account for $25. Another thing was despite the money I paid I still was not given any cleaning service. Normally in previous hotels that I’ve stayed in, there are cleaners who come in daily to restock on anything and make the bed or give new towels. I’m not expecting treatment and to be spoiled with anything extra. I was just assuming that would be given because at cheaper hotels I would be given that service. Along with that I had a picture frame left in the room after checkout. I completely understand that I’m at fault for leaving that, but I called to let the receptionist know exactly where it is. I got word that a note was put down and I would be contacted by the house keeping manager later on in the day. I was infact not contacted by anyone and just sent my final bill. I think this hotel just needs to be more upfront about what charges are going to be made beforehand.

I had a wonderful experience at Hotel 48LEX New York. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, with easy access to all. I really enjoyed the food. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would definitely come back!
- 2/5
I stayed at this hotel over the weekend and was completely disappointed. For a place rated four and a half stars, the experience was far from what you would expect. The rooms are overpriced, outdated, and in urgent need of renovation. The check-in service was unprofessional and frustrating, and the overall level of service was practically nonexistent. For the cost, I expected much more value and comfort. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel

We had an issue with our reservation that I dont know if it was expedia or the hotel, but I reserved a room with Queen bed on a weekend we were moving my daughter to student housing next door to hotel. There was a date mix up with her school after we had made our reservation which caused us to need a room with two beds instead of one. I called the hotel, who told me to call expeda since I booked with them. I called Expedia two weeks before our reservation and asked them if I could upgrade our room to a room with two double beds or a room with a pull out couch and I would be willing to pay the upgrade, Customer service then spoke to the hotel, and they assured me that we would have 2 beds to accomidate 3 adults, instead of one bed to accomidate 2 adults. When I checked in the font desk acted like that conversation never happened, even though expedia did have the conversation recoreded with the hotel. We also did not recieve any of the VIP perks offered on the Expedia listing ($30 in credit for food and bev, they only offered $25 after paying 50 resort fee) They did finally find us a roll away bed, which was not ideal, but worked in a pinch, luckily the room accomidated the bed in the kitchen area. The hotel did leave a bottle of champage and macroons in our room with a nice note for our Anniversary, and that was a nice touch. Overall it was an ok stay, but I was very annoyed with the sitation at check in after making sure two weeks prior we would not have that issue.

The restaurant we went for breakfast was amazing and the room was really clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking was great since I stayed on a Saturday to Sunday. Did not want to get out the comfortable bed so we ended up asking for a later check out for 2 hours which wasn’t a problem for them but with a fee. Great hotel will definitely be going back.

I booked a room to celebrate my girlfriend birthday. Entrance has small modern look the service was nice nothing that really stood out, the view was nice the place was clean the setup was really nice. My girlfriend was impressed and she loved the whole setup. The bathroom was really nice and enjoyed that the hotel is connected to the restaurant so it was convenient. All and all I enjoyed my stayed and will come back

Beautiful room and building. Overall, an amazing experience.
- 5/5
The location is unbeatable everything is within walking distance, which makes exploring the city so easy and stress-free. The hotel is right next to a beautifully designed restaurant with incredible food, which is perfect for those nights when you just want to enjoy a great dinner without going far. The cleanliness of the room was truly next level everything felt fresh, tidy, and cared for in a way that goes beyond expectations. One small but deeply appreciated touch: they provide bottled water daily, which is a rare and thoughtful detail nowadays when most places charge for everything. The front desk staff were kind, helpful, and always had a warm smile ready. It’s not a huge hotel, but it definitely offers a cozy, elevated experience. I’ll absolutely be coming back. Highly recommended

It was in a convenient location to access Manhattan’s districts and Grand Central Station. We had a $25 a day coupon for the restaurant at the hotel. However we found out that they offer a different price menu for customers that have this promotion then if you didn’t have the coupon.

Couldn’t have picked a better place in the city. Hotel is very clean, views incredible, and check in/valet were easy thanks to Rachel at the front desk who was so welcoming and helpful!! She’s the BEST!

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It is close to shopping and very walkable as my husband and I walk everywhere. Our check in was fast and they upgraded our room and we could get into our room immediately. Beautiful room with robes, mini bar, microwave. We had a room credit for breakfast at their amazing restaurant. Breakfast was delicious! Valet parking was easy. Gym was nice except only one treadmill. Can’t wait to go back!

Room was great. Staff so so. Not very welcoming and rushed. For the accommodations i stayed, it can be a lot better.
- 3/5
Decent hotel but they messed up my bills by charging me twice for the $30 COMPLIMENTARY food and drinks, there were no snacks in the mini-bar, couldn’t sleep during night 2 due to an odd double tapping noise coming from the 18th floor ceiling. They still owe me $40.91.
- 4/5
I really enjoyed staying at this property for my 48 hours stay in New York. I came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and I called the hotel in advance of our arrival and asked them to do a special surprise. The staff was more than accommodating to my request, they left us a nice letter in the room thanking us for being VIP members and also gave us a free bottle of wine, with macaroons. Another thing I really loved about this hotel was that they were very nice on accommodations and had a wine tasting and discounted breakfast for one key members. This was an amazing hotel, and I would stay here again.

It was a very pleasant hotel experience up until the moment that the both elevators were out of order and I had to leave for the airport. I don’t have the body strength tp carry a heavy luggage for 9 floors. The person at the front desk Brady was very mean to me at the phone, not helping at all, not telling me when he can send help. Just saying they have only one person to carry luggages. Even when I came down, he put words in my mouth saying I wanted help immidiately which was a lie. I always asked a ballpark of minutes not to lose the plane. Even at the last minute when I was at the door he was like: “If you’re not early for the airport, that not on us.” Super rude man. Everyone and everything else was great and I loved the hotel till the last hour but I won’t deal with obnoxious front desk people on my vacations and broken elevators in NYC. I made it to plane because I’m an organized person unlike rude Brady.

Breakfast is good, 5-7pm free wines at the lounge is good too Their check out process was a mess, and they mistakenly over-charged us for one more nights. Their response to our request for bill correction and reimbursement has been extremely slow and not helpful.

This was my 3rd stay at Hotel48 and Lex. My daughter and I always enjoy our stay here even if it’s just for 1 night. This hotel is expensive but I believe what saves me money is the fact that it is walking distance from all of the places that my daughter and I like to go to so we do not have to spend money on expensive Ubers. The hotel also allows you to suite away your bags prior to check in and after checking out while having access to their impeccably clean basement. This hotel is very convenient. I’d I want to meet up with friends it is easy for them to commute to Time Sqauts so that we can hang out. Hotel is very centrally located so that you can enjoy the city while feeling safe. The shower in the hotel rooms are my second favorite part lol

Elevator was not working during my stay there - and they put me on the 10th floor

Hot water pot to make coffee didn’t work. The coffee was in teabags that didn’t steep very well. The hot water in the shower was hot sometimes, but only lukewarm other times. The elevator did not work, so one evening I had to walk up the stairs to my room and this morning, I had to carry my luggage down five floors to get to my Uber to the airport. The rooms are lovely, but a little dark. The staff and the conditions were great though.
- 2/5
Appear to apply an airline approach - nickle and dime on poorly explained charges. Don’t know meaning of the term hospitality. It’s unfortunate given great location.
- 5/5
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the Prosecco and macaroons waiting for us in the room a perfect surprise! We took advantage of the complimentary wine tasting in the lounge which was very nice. We will definitely be back!
- 1/5
Pricing on Expedia is very misleading. The hotel lists a daily rate AND a separate required hotel daily rate of $50 for basically nothing but a discount in the restaurant that you must pay for. Expedia should not allow this practice or they should include this required daily fee as part of the daily rate as other sites due. I am very disappointed that Expedia allows this practice and it makes it difficult to compare hotels easily. I spend time comparing this hotel to other hotels with a similar price to only find that this hotel is $50 more when I read the fine print. This practice should be banned by law.
- 4/5
I really liked the location — it was super convenient — and the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room itself was nice and comfortable. However, the elevators were a bit of a hassle — only one was consistently working, and the other was on and off, which caused some delays. We also experienced some water interruptions on a couple of days, which was frustrating. With some improvements to maintenance and facilities, this place could be a great stay overall.

Faucet for shower was broken, and kept making the water boiling hot. The front desk receptionist on the first night was slightly rude and passive, but the one that worked during my check out time was great and very helpful! Overall , my room was beautiful and I enjoyed my stay.

I loved my stay there. They let me check in early and the front desk associate was so pleasant. The room was beautiful, right in the middle of everything but yet quiet. Walking distance to timesquare and multiple restaurants and activities. Upon checkin in the heat in the room was not working and they were able to get someone up right away that fixed the issue within 30 mins. Overall I would definitely stay again.

Our experience with this hotel was nothing but exceptional. Our flight was cancelled and Mariah at the front desk was absolutely amazing!! She definitely went above and beyond for me and my daughter. Will definitely be back!!
- 4/5
There is a confusion with the voucher for breakfast. To my understanding it was per person since we were two persons in the room. It ended up not being per person but per room, so since breakfast is over $32 per person for a fixed menu,no substitution plus 20% service, you end up paying much more than what was planned. The photo of the front desk is not exactly as nice as what it is in reality. It’s good to have that clearly stated, but pleasantly surprised with the rooms and atmosphere.
- 4/5
the bathroom was big

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel, thank you!

Stayed here in January to bring in my best friend’s birthday and our stay was excellent and very welcoming. We would definitely spend time here again. It was very clean. Room was amazing. And staff was incredible and accommodating. However lighting in rooms could be better and brighter and also a lighting infront of the closet mirror would be recommended. Bathroom was sufficient!
- 4/5
walkable and convenient location to my needs. Not the cleanest room but it was large for NYC standards.

A rare find...i stunbled upon this property on hotels.com. Located centrally on Lexington avenue and close to everything that you need in NY City. Great service and very helpful staff. I stayed there nights and the Front desk accomodated my request for an early check in.Breakfast was great and the luxury was at par with any 5 star....highly recommend !

Overall, I can only recommend it.
