The location is superb, on Gang Kuta Pura, a couple of hundred meters off Jalan Katika Plaza, close to restaurants and warungs, Kuta Square, Discovery Mall, Waterbom, and many other attractions, and less than a 10 minute walk to the beach and the Art Market. The room was clean, bed comfortable, aircon efficient, wifi reliable, and has a refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good with about a dozen choices, plus bottomless coffee and juice. The gardens and pool area look to be very inviting, although I didn't use the pool. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a left luggage storage facility. No negatives

Jepun Bali is tucked away up a gang off Jalan Kartika Plaza. The location is convenient to restaurants and warungs, plus Discovery Mall and Waterbom Park. The room, bed and pillows were comfortable, aircon efficient, and wifi fast and reliable. The room has ta and coffee making faciities. The gardens are lush and pool area very inviting. The included breakfast has a least 10 choices, and a bottomless coffee dispenser. I don't think anything needs improving.

The shower curtain wasn't long enough so showers would flood the floor.

I liked that the location was a little tucked back off the busy main streets, but it was still an easy walk to get everywhere. The restaurant and common areas were also pretty nice. Overall I was very disappointed in this hotel. The pictures online are extremely misleading, as the nice wood-filled rooms are their expensive suites, not the standard rooms (which are never pictured very clearly on the website and are pretty dingy). The door to the balcony didn't fit in the frame and there were gaps that mosquitoes were coming in. There is also an open air vent to the outside in the bathroom, which also allows in mosquitoes and makes the rooms not private to people walking by. The swimming pool wasn't well lit at night, which made it nearly unusable. Overall, I was not happy and would not recommend this place to others.

Wonderful location, quite close to the centre of attractions but still off the main road to give us the quiet ambience that we wanted. The beach was a 2-3 minutes walk away. Lots of eateries around so you actually wonder which one to choose. The staff was very helpful. We were checking out very early morning to head off to Nusa Penida and they prepared a well made packed breakfast as early as 6 AM in the morning. The food in the restaurant was very good with an authentic Indonesian touch. The decoration and the upholstery in the room and outside had an excellent heritage touch. Overall a very good experience. None that I can think of

Location was good, yet a long way off Jalan Kartika Plaza, 100+ meters. The entry and reception area is impressive architecture, as are the public areas, with a nice pool area, but which I didn't use. The restaurant area is spacious, not crowded with tables and chairs, and surrounding gardens very relaxing, with water features, and paving weaving through the gardens to the rooms. The room was comfortable, bed and pillows good, aircon efficient, with a small fridge. Breakfast was outstanding, 10 choices, local and western, plus a bottomless coffee/tea, fruit and juices. Safe luggage storage facilities are available, of which I availed myself, staying twice, ten days apart. WiFi was terrible, with frequent drop outs, and I had to go to reception whenever I needed a reliable connection for more than a minute or two. There were no coffee/tea making facilities.

I had to find somewhere new to stay and literally booked a couple of hours before I arrived. It probably would not be my first choice ordinarily but I am grateful that Japun is where I landed. The staff are terrific here, really very nice and friendly. Breakfast is a la carte with drinks and fruit in a buffet. Had two Indonesian meals in the restaurant which were great. Loved the beer fridge in reception, very handy! I found that a lot of the guests were long term repeat customers staying for several weeks every year and they were nice and friendly too. The grounds of this hotel are superb, the gentleman who looks after them is a credit to the hotel. Very quiet being set back from the main road. Great location. Great price. The rooms are very dated and tired, really need a renovation but at the price they are charging it's still good value for money. If I stay again I would definitely try and get a ground floor room as I found my balcony on the first floor too hot and sunny to use until late afternoon.

The room was basic but comfortable, I liked the private balcony and the air con worked well. The pool was just lovely and the garden and grounds very well kept. I had the best breakfasts here, good standard. A little oasis nice and quiet back of the busy street. Towels provided for the pool was good too. I recommend this hotel. The stairs were a bit much for me with a bad knee. I didn't realise there would be so many. Next time I would request a ground floor room. I thought we were booking a room like the one in the promo photo with the lovely ceiling but alas no. No sheet provided for the bed just a duvet which I find disappointing in a hot country. I don't need a duvet, just a sheet.

Our rooms toilet was leaky, the shower didn’t drain, the bed wasn’t too comfy

  • Engine customer Aug 2025

Pool, Location, Room - save for some minor adjustments we'd like to see. General ambience and distance from road noise great. Service great and staff exceptionally friendly and efficient. Excellent breakfast. Pool area and sheltered table and chairs area very enjoyable. No in room kettle or cups for tea/coffee. Some windows need extra cover for sunlight entering too early for holiday makers. Bed ok but not great - falling to one side. No shelves to put your toiletries in bathroom - so much space not capitalized. No hot water at basin for men's shaving and ladies make up etc. TV Channels not good.

I stayed in a deluxe room that exuded cleanliness and comfort, making it effortlessly easy to unwind. The tranquil atmosphere, complemented by lush greenery throughout the property, reminded the warmth and serenity of home. What truly elevated the experience was the staff’s impeccable hospitality. The location couldn’t be more ideal: nestled within walking distance of delightful eateries, soothing spas, and other local gems, making exploration both convenient and enjoyable. I left with a sense of contentment and a wish to return. During the latter part of my stay, I was relocated to a Standard room due to limited availability. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the comfort of my earlier accommodation. The room layout felt rather disjointed, as if the furniture had been hastily arranged without thoughtful spatial planning. The space felt cramped, and the room’s design made it difficult to utilize even the available area effectively. The bathroom lacked functional amenities—a proper holder for toiletries was missing, making everyday use inconvenient. In addition, the WiFi connection in the Standard room was noticeably sluggish. While I appreciate the hotel’s efforts to accommodate me, this part of my stay fell short of expectations. It’s worth considering an upgrade if room comfort and practical design are priorities for you.

Nice villa hotel tucked at the end of a side street. Good location and price

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

The rooms are clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out—many with balconies overlooking the pool or garden. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always ready with a smile or a local tip to enhance your stay. It’s the perfect base if you're exploring on a budget but still want comfort, character, and easy access to Bali’s cultural highlights. A relaxing and down-to-earth stay that captures the spirit of Bali beautifully.
