I have stayed here before, and it's better now with the remoded rooms. A jewel for folks that like comfort and quiet. The staff is so friendly.

No breakfast at all despite It said so in the website. Refrigerator did not work. Noisy at night.

It was cheap, bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Stayed based off of high review scores... Room was dirty, lots of dust, stains and marks on the walls/floors. room needs a paint job and new carpet badly. Didn't feel comfortable walking barefoot or using the bathtub.

Motel clerks are choosey when picking guests. Had reservation, they were almost empty and was told no rooms were available and the reservation was cancelled.

The bathroom tub had a bit of a drip.

My over all stay was great. The only thing I didn't like was I had to call at 8AM and wake management up for breakfast.

Check in was easy. Room is clean. Flatscreen TVs with HD service. 1 bed room with a couch. Has a refrigerator and microwave. Non-smoking room smelled nice. Room made up each day. Not sure what breakfast was because I have to hit the road early. Located in a really rough part of town, but its tucked away. Fencing and large bushes keep nearly all the parking lot out of sight from passing traffic and riff raff. Ok for single guys and maybe couples. Because of location in this part of town, I do not recommend for women travelling alone or families with children.

i stay here from time to time. kind of a rough part of town and a bit out of the way for me but its my "go to" when closer places cost more or if they're full. the parking lot is tucked back off the main road, so never had any problems with people messing with my car. motel is quiet at night. everyone is able to park right in front of your room, so no long walks or stairs to climb. free internet works well. they have flat screen tvs now. non-smoking rooms are always clean and comfortable. rooms are made daily. front desk people are competent. always have to leave before breakfast, so I don't know what they have other than coffee. never see any bugs. I never have any issues here, and thats the best!

Be advised that it isn't in that great of a part of town. When I told my family about the area I stayed at they were pretty surprised.

It was absolutely horrendous. There was literally feces on the wall in the bathroom and the rooms stank. Would not move us to a different room and would not refund our money. Had to beg to cancel our following days so we could stay at a different hotel.

The neighborhood may not be the best, but the front desk staff is pleasant, the property and room clean and quiet, and I was able to get some sleep after a stressful evening.

The room was dirty and smelled horrible. Looked like someone was already staying there. Front desk was hesitant on helping me locate better accommodations and still charged me for one day. I was extremely unhappy.

Everything was good. Couldn't connect to the wifi that they advertise, but overall it was a very pleasant stay.

As many other reviewers have noted, this motel is an outstanding value for the money. True, the facility is a little dated, but the room was in 100% working order and was spotlessly clean. I have stayed in many other "better" motels (bigger name and higher prices) that had moldy bathrooms, broken A/C, broken towel bars and shower rods (that previous guests had used as grab handles and had gone unrepaired). NONE of that was present in my room at Budget Host, Hempstead Inn. Add in the lower prices, and it is an outstanding value. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Facilities are old. Carpet is old and not clean. Room doesn't smell good unless you keep the door open. However it was quiet which is good.

Hotel is tucked away from what is a pretty rough part of town. So I still feel safe and that my vehicle won't be messed with. Best water pressure and hot shower for a motel ever. Internet is average speed and stays connected - no lag when watching non HD videos. Room was made up daily and is clean upon arrival. Non-smoking rooms smell nice. Furnishings starting to show a bit of wear. TVs are old even for boxes and barely work correctly - need to be upgraded to flatscreens ASAP. Staff were considerate & helpful. I had to leave before breakfast, so I don't know what they had out, but probably typical coffee/waffles.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly, but a train runs loudly nearby. Not the best, but certainly not the worst.

First of all, I was grateful to the staff for accommodating me, despite my very late arrival. I arrived at the hotel at about 1:30 AM and the staff processed me in.

It's was what you'd expect for the $$. Nice people running the place. Quiet and clean enough for me.

I wish one of the criteria used to judge the Budget Host Hempstead Inn was value; in that category, they'd receive a "5." The fact of the matter is that this motel is in a bit of an out-of-the-way location (about a 10 mile, 20 minute drive from most of Houston's attractions) -- but it's a NICE location (i.e., totally safe). Furthermore, it's a convenient location in certain respects; there's a Burger King next door and a little convenience store within easy walking distance. The place is run in a sensible, considerate manner. They have (but don't advertise) a typical, modest, "continental breakfast" for their guests (orange juice, milk, coffee, cold cereal, and packaged pastries) available for free in the lobby each morning -- and they end its availability at a ridiculously early hour (as certain other motel chains do). The beds are extremely comfortable, the rooms are well maintained, there are TV's, microwaves, refrigerators, blow dryers, iron & ironing boards, complimentary soap (bath and facial), shampoo, and even body lotion. If you're still in your room around the sensible 11 am checkout time on an extended stay, the front desk may call you to ask if you need room service; you don't have to worry about a maid using her key to barge in at an inopportune moment.

Close to Gallaria shopping centre fairly close to town. Helpful staff let us check in early one off but appreciated after 22hr bus ride. Room spacious clean comfortable.

You get what you pay for. The room is older needs to be repaired and updated. But for the price and location it was good. Front desk was helpful when needed and stayed for an extra day.

The hotel was clean and the woman who checked us in was very nice. The only negative was there was no hair dryer. Also, for those wanting a place nearby attractions or activities, this would not be the place for you as it's located in a fairly secluded industrial area.

They are upgrading the technology. Uses cards for entry, nice shower with good water pressure!

It was a last minute decision. Didn't think I was gonna like it much but it turned out nice.

Was good for sleep. TV remote has to scroll one channel up or down at a time, picture not good . Bedside lamp not working, even when bulbs were switched. Breakfast very minimal. If you just want to sleep, it's ok for the price, just don't expect more. Management said they are new and need to do the repairs, maybe the same story to other guests,

We checked in late and the clerk was very rude and intrusive about who was staying in the room and was trying to look in our vechile to check for extra people. After checking in we found a pair of socks and men's boxers behind the bathroom door.

We reserved a Double Queen room for six nights, but the room was unavaillable when we got there, and we had to use a pullout bed (in poor condition)with one queen the first night. Other than that the acommodation was comfortable. This motel is cheap because it's WAAY out of town, and a train goes by across the road several times at night.

Clean room, good service, needs upgrades but for the money it's hard to get a better deal. I've stayed there before and I'll probably do it again.

Tried to cancel second night because the room was so poor. Ended up going to another hotel but they wouldn't refund our night. Hotel is so many kinds of wrong.

Ordered a non-smoking room. Arrive to learn that they have no more non-smoking rooms. The proprietor says pretty much "too bad." Only after I argue and argue does he finally give me a non-smoking room - and tries to upcharge me $10. Room smells of mold, no hot water.

The area is very low rent. The hotel old but the room was clean and it was quiet. The big ewes complaint is they did not have TV remote.

Toilet wouldn't flush, room was very hot and muggy when I arrived. It is very hidden and the area of town was very questionable. I will not be staying there again, nor will I recommend to anyone.

The people were very polite and friendly

This is perhaps one of the best you can get for the money charged and if you are on a budget. Modest, but very decent. No-nonsense service. Room is clean. Equipment (TV, etc.) not the state-of-the-art, but everything works. Wi-Fi works. Hey, you even get a nice little breakfast!

The service at the budget host was exceptional and i will come back whenever i'm in Houston.

The room was decent for a place to stay the night. However there were several electric issues with the room.

The hotel its OK for yhe price, but keep in mind that the area is completely isolated and not nice AT ALL. if you just need a place yo stay cheap, I recomend this otherwise find something closer to the civilization.

Nice & professional staff. Wifi worked, frig, no microwave in room. The worst part was the shower knob was broken & would not turn on. The attendant was surprised & seemed genuinely concerned by telling me I can take a shower in another room. I understand a rare inconvenience happens and the desk attendant found a solution quickly. Great staff but hotel needs to be updated bu then again the price may reflect any upgrades. Would I stay again? Yes

Hotel is very dated. Guy at front desk was nice and helpful, but there is NOTHING in the immediate neighborhood that would mak you want to be there. Room looked clean but just smelled old.

It was a short stay.y wife had a medical procedure down by the galleria early that morning we decided we wanted to stay close and not deal with traffic. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, the room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I would recommend to all friends and family was a pleasant stay.

Located in an Industrial park, but secluded enough on the property that it doesn't matter. Large room, friendly staff. Wifi didn't work in far corner room unless you stood by the window but overall a nice stay. I had an unusual issue that should be uncommon so I won't hold it against them or mention it.

Not a very clean room and the microwave does not work. U will get a knock on the door to see if u are checking out before ur check out time I hear them knocking everywhere loudly.

Great room. Clean. Easy to find. Room was quite large with a sofa. Free wifi access was fast and convenient. Great place to stay if you're looking for a clean inexpensive place to stay. A rare find.

Great hotel at a goodnprice. I was impressed. You don't have to worry about anyone messing with your vehicle at night due to the way the hotel is set up.
