The guy on the afternoon shift was very friendly. The room was clean. Location was great.

The hostel lacks basic facilities for a hostel, specifically kitchen. Also the prices are waaaay too high, but that's a Barcelona issue, not the hostel's

The double room is really big with the entrance to a terrace. I think there is enough space for two couples. The location is quite nice. It's close to some Gaudi's buildings. Metro is in 4 minutes' walk. Spar literally is the next door. Unfortunately, sound isolation is quite poor. You could hear neighbors.

Hostal Muntaner was located in good neighbourhood. It is possible to walk to many Barcelona´s attractions if you like walking and also transport options are nearby. You can find restaurants, bars and cafes nearby and also markets, if you need to buy anything. Reception was friendly and polite. Bed was quite ok and certainly i would choose room with the bathroom anytime. I wouldn´t like to share, but there are this kind of options too. Room wasn´t too small and it was quite clean as well. Rooms were bit cold and AC worked, but not very well. It was pretty noisy behind our door. I was thinking it is main area, where people can heat their food and just chill, but later I noticed that it was workers kitchen or resting room, where hostal´s employees spent time and yelled. Someone had their kids with them in there and we heard everything in our room. In the bathroom, the window was almost open all the time and that is why the cold came in. The pillow of the bed was really hard, unfortunately this all took down the points, why we didn´t enjoy our stay so much.

Everything was great, but the noise from neighbors was a little disturbing Thicker walls?

The location was excellent for visiting the city. It was the cheapest option for a room with a private bathroom on land—only staying on a boat in the port was less expensive. When I arrived, the room wasn’t prepared, and I had to wait 12 minutes for it to be cleaned. There was no air conditioning in the room, despite it being stated otherwise. The central heating was present but couldn’t be controlled, so it was off. The temperature of the hot water kept fluctuating constantly. The shower curtain was so close (about 90 cm) that it kept sticking to me, so I had to remove it. There was a permanent smell of cigarettes in the room. Let’s say it was clean enough, but everything felt quite old. Only one staff member working nights spoke English, while the rest didn’t seem to care and continued speaking Spanish, perhaps hoping I would eventually understand.
