Location, size of the room and the charm of this older hotel which prefer because it has character. Breakfast was lovely at the restaurant and also enjoyed the food for lunch. Enchanting overall. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Would happily return No in room coffee or tea, shower needed upgrade as hard to step into the tub as my knee hurts (smile)

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 6 days (from June 6 to June 12), and we found that one of male staff in the front desk was very rude with guests and he should be fired based on the norm of industrial standard. In addition, the hotel does not provide a kettle for guests to boil water for tea in each room. During these 6 days, the hotel's hot and cold water dispenser was out of order for last 4 days of our stay. (The only dispenser in the hotel was not repaired at the time when we checked-out in the morning of June 12). We reported this problem to the male staff at the front desk and this male staff was rude in dealing with us for this issue. Each room should have a kettle for guests to make teas. The hotel should provide two bottles of drinking waters in each room each day.

Nice hotel, enjoyed the front sitting room for gathering with friends. Liked the connected restaurant, made it convenient for meals, especially the breakfast buffet offered. It was nice with good selection/variety of foods. We had lunch there which was nice also. Enjoyed the large spacious bathroom area and liked the ledge which held a lot of toiletries/makeup. Didn't want or need the bidet, just took up space in the large bathroom.

Loved the location close to La Rambla. The breakfast was very good with great selection of food. The elevator is small and slow. There is nobody available to assist with baggage or explain room services. I would have like a little more service in explains the services available.

Breakfast was diverse and well done. One receptionist was friendly but the other older one was miserable, demanding and not customer oriented.

The hotel itself is really nice, with little balconies and a great location. Amenities are pretty standard, i.e. wifi and breakfast for a small charge. Beds were very comfortable, and A/C was appreciated during our mini heat wave. The staff were not very friendly, and rude at times. The process of creating the reservation on booking.com was also very difficult--Nouvel requires that you verify a credit card outside of the booking.com system (which already has a verified credit card on file!), and Nouvel sends emails every day, threatening to cancel your reservation if you don't comply. Even when their system was broken, the would not reply in a helpful way, and would just send additional threats. So--if you can get past this, and just ignore the front desk treatment, the hotel and location are lovely.
