Austin Marriott Downtown

We had a very good stay overall. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff was friendly and professional throughout our visit. We did experience an issue with the air conditioning, which took a few hours to fully resolve. However, the hotel handled the situation professionally, stayed responsive, and went above and beyond by providing us with a complimentary $100 breakfast credit for the inconvenience. We appreciated the effort to make things right and enjoyed the rest of our stay. The excellent customer service left a positive impression, and we would stay here again.

Was a very nice place but took awhile to get in because they tried to charge me for the room when I arrived, I had already paid for the room. After talking with them and showing them emails and my bank account it took awhile but they let us in without charging again. Also no robes : (

Convenance to the venue I was at for conference. Staff was great, attentive concierge, clean, Barely any hot water. Luke warm at best. The lights throughout the entire room were too dim. Love dim lighting in the bedroom, but bathroom needs a dimmer option for more light when getting ready.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It offered the high standard of quality I always expect from Marriott. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was great. I would definitely stay here again

Very nice hotel with a very central location Rooms are not very spacious.

The inside was beautiful and rooms nice. They messed up my reservation and charged me an extra $197 and valet when it was included in my reservation. And they tried to charge me the $375 when I got there when I had already paid on booking.

Loved all, especially the restaurants and city view. Layout of room was awkward with bathroom area and clear shower door situated right at entrance to room.

Staff helps us right off the gate. Since this was my first time booking a hotel for our friend's wedding. They were so helpful with process of check in and check out, giving a tour and recommendations! I felt so welcomed with my friend. Would 100% stay again for the next Austin trip.

The room is pretty comfortable, team members extremely professional. Location is really good, you can just walk to the river, restaurants and 20 min to the airport.

Our favorite Austin hotel. It’s modern, clean, great location, comfortable beds, pool & cabana area on roof is incredible as is Zanzibar! Love the free drip coffee, breakfast vouchers, and $25 a day credit toward food & drink!

I had a great stay at the Marriott Downtown in Austin, Texas. The hotel was very clean, and the room was comfortable and well-maintained. I especially enjoyed the fitness center and the pool, which were both in excellent condition and added to the overall experience. I also want to give a special thank you to Ricky at the front desk. He was incredibly helpful and professional when we needed assistance sorting out a room issue. His customer service really stood out and made a big difference in our stay. The hotel is in a great area of the city to walk to near by restaurants or simply enjoy the city. The views from the rooms were amazing and I really loved the setup from our room. It had plenty of space and multiple mirrors. I also was so glad we had amenities for everything to enjoy from; mini market, multiple bars, small coffee shop, the pool, the gym, and the rooftop bar. I liked everything.

Great hotel with a very nice atmosphere. We had a pleasant stay overall, but there were a couple of issues. The room didn’t include a fridge, and we weren’t a fan of the bar soap provided for handwashing. Additionally, our room faced a construction area, and we were woken up at 8 AM on Sunday due to the noise.

The rooms were immaculate and had everything we needed. The valet parking was very easy. The breakfast was amazing and very reasonably priced. The staff were all very polite and helpful. We had a great stay here and would definitely recommend it.

Plenty of option for meal nearby. The price for guest overnight parking should be lower than public parking outside the hotel. There is no heated area in the pool, and no shower nearby, only restroom. Limited food option in the hotel grocery.

The staff was very nice. There is a $25 credit when getting the room. So it’s prefect for a little snack or coffee in the am. The rooms are really nice, and the lady at the front desk was amazed at the price I got for my room through Hotels.com. They take you to the elevator and explain how to use it. There are plenty of things in the hotel to do drink or eat. There is also a few awesome restaurants close by.

The pool and view and drinks. Paid extra for a “king corner room”. Upon arriving was told those were noisey and too low to the street level. They DOWNGRADED our room and gave no compensation for the change. Booking.com is clues about the hotel and the property.

I found blood on my sheets didn’t see it until I was getting ready to check out, it was at the foot of the bed sheets so that’s why I didn’t see it. The staff was amazing, loved the bars didn’t eat the breakfast.

The location is great. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfy. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very noisy. I heard everything that was going on in the hallway and next door, and it did keep me up for some time at night. I did expect the hotel in that price range to have better noise insulation. The valet also messed up our car reservation, which made us wait a good while until we received it upon departure.

We were lucky to get an early check in which I appreciated after an early morning flight. Had a great room with the city view. Room cleaning and breakfast which we decided to add after arriving were excellent. Location was great. Staff were nice and friendly.

This is a room designed for the solo traveler. The bathroom configuration is odd and provides very little privacy if you had a traveling companion. But very clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff and surprisingly quiet for downtown Austin.

Hotel was amazing from the beginning! Clean, modern, comfy, and wonderful amenities! Would definitely stay here again! The only complaint I have is about the Valet parking. They were wonderful the entire time, but the morning I picked up my (brand new large SUV) and the person that had parked it the night before hit my drivers side mirror and front bumper on the stone wall. Marriott was wonderful, refunded my parking fees, etc. I have yet to hear back from Valet Manager in regards to insurance, etc. Overall, I would still stay again. The restaurant in the hotel had delicious brunch also, a little pricey, but well worth it!

Amazing hotel, food,’bar. I recommend not staying in 701/702. So loud. With the floor being the active floor it is insanley loud at all hours of the night. Hard to sleep. People being extremely loud, do not recommend staying in any of those rooms. Love everything else about this hotel I will stay again but never in those rooms!!!!

The server/ bartender was so friendly and sweet! We didn’t get to finish our glasses of wine because we were in a rush for a concert that evening so we wanted to go back upstairs and get ready. He told us that we could take our wine glasses upstairs while we get ready! I thought that was so cool and awesome! He called us friends and made us feel special.

Room svce was just ok. Eggs were way too salty. Ice machine was 20 floors below and they wouldn’t bring a bag to fill the ice because “we’re green”. It took 30 min to get car from valet. Not much to do about construction noises outside that started early and ended late.

We have stayed here in the past. It's still one of the best hotels in Austin. Close to everything. Great restaurants. Eddie V's is a quick walk.

Stayed with my daughter and we were able to easily access places of interest. Great room, very clean. Hotel restaurants served good food in a nice ambience.

The only reason I don’t give 5 stars it’s because the high price of the parking, 59$ per night it’s too much. The hotel is excellent, I loved the bathroom! And is super walkable, lots of restaurants and nice view

This hotel is beautiful . A lot of attention to the details. The elevators were a great experience. The staff were very helpful and friendly. You could tell they loved their jobs. We were very happy with our experience and would surely stay here again.

Everything was nice except the smell of mold. Drinks were PERFECT!!! Ambiance at the pool was nice. Service could’ve been better. I’d definitely stay again!!!

When we originally booked this hotel, we mixed it up with the JW Marriott close by but in the end, we were quite happy with the choice we made. The hotel itself as far as facilities. Cleanliness and comfort are concerned. It’s top-notch. The room was fantastic if a little Spartan, But the Zanzibar and the lobby bar more than made this stay a great one that we thoroughly enjoyed. The only drawback is that there is a lot of construction going on in the rainy Street district and getting to the hotel by car was a challenge but doable. My last piece of advice if you want to enjoy the seventh floor rooftop Zanzibar make sure you make reservations as finding a spot without them is going to be next to impossible.

Had my towels changed proactively and trash emptied daily. Would stay there again.. But, would appreciate candor from staff about that smell problem in my floor.

1. Dishonest Service: I spoke with the night manager regarding a matter of concern, and unfortunately, I was given false information. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. 2. Excessive Incidental Charges: The incidental fees applied to my stay were outrageously high and not clearly explained at the time of booking or check-in. 3. Unreasonable Room Rates: The pricing for the rooms was far above what I consider fair, particularly given the level of service I received. 4. No Event Discount for Parking: I was attending an event held at your hotel and expected a discounted parking rate, as is customary for hotel-hosted events. I was shocked to find that no such discount was available. This experience fell far short of what I expect from a reputable hotel, especially one hosting an event. I request that you review the charges on my bill and provide a clear explanation or, ideally, a partial refund to reflect the issues I encountered. I would appreciate a prompt response to this matter

As a member, I was offered an upgrade to a corner King room (instead of 2 queens) to which the receptionist said "it's a suite". So I expected a suite, meaning there is a separate seating area. Turns out this wasn't the case. It's a room with a small long chair right next to the bed. There is a door between the bed area and the bathroom area, that's it. The pool was cloudy; it didn't look dirty like there was trash, but the water was cloudy. The pool bar (Zanzibar) was OK; food and drinks were good but it was hard to find the server. We ordered room service (brunch) the next day. I expected it to be on real china (plates and silverware), but our brunch was packed in styrofoam containers and drinks in plastic cups, all carried to us in a paper bag (with 1 set of plasticware when I specified there were 2 people). I mean, I could have just walked downstairs and picked up the food myself and spared us the service charge tips. Valet was the only parking option for $65/day. Upon our departure, we texted the number to request for our car as usual. 30 minutes went by (we just assumed they were busy) and still no car. The valet desk didn't know about our request when we asked (showed the text message), saying their system has been acting up all morning. The receptionist mentioned nothing when we checked out. Great downtown location for a quick work trip. Bed was comfortable, needed a few more amenities within the room. But was a good stay overall.

Great hotel. Great staff. Easy valet

A valet rep misrepresented the hotel exclaiming that it was a valet-only hotel, only for me to realize there was a parking garage under the hotel after I checked in. Other than this, the property was exceptional, save the immediate area around it.

Excellent service at the front desk & valet. There was significant traffic due to a marathon and the valet department was out directing traffic! Above & beyond effort. Room was clean and well appointed. Overall would recommend.

Was not happy with the room Amenties, Room did not have micrwave, fridge, and internet to use. the free internet provided sucks, not able use it, cost extra money to upgrade to use internet, you pay $300-$400 a night to big name hotel and get nothing no complimentry breakfast either

This was a tough rating. To be completely frank, so much of the experience was great. We had an amazing lake view room. The service was nice, friendly staff, good restaurant etc. but the rating is for me based on my night sleep. It was pretty darn terrible. There was a strange knocking coming from the AC unit or from somewhere close to it. It was loud and constant. The noise sounded like the cadence of a machine gun. It would sound for about 10 to 20 seconds for what seemed like every hour throughout the night/early morning completely waking me up. I would finally fall asleep and bam the noise would return. I wanted to many time call but I kept hoping it was a pluming sound that would eventually stop. While checking out I was asked how the stay was and I was completely honest with the front desk associate. She advised me that she was sorry and that someone would contact me. A few hours later I received a text from someone named Garrett apologizing about the situation. He stated that if I wanted to speak further about it we could but when I responded he stop texting. Never got one more word back. The whole conversation seemed pretty wasted and

Great stay, with good food. Comfortable beds, and nice view on 30th floor.

The most important thing to us at a hotel is a good night's sleep. Every 30 minutes throughout the entire night, there was a terrible rattling noise in the room that would wake us up. We had an awful night's sleep and left early the next morning to drive back home. The hotel couldn't do anything about it because we purchased the room through Expedia. Purchasing through Expedia was not a good choice because we paid a lot of money and they couldn't reimburse or compensate for a bad experience.

We were in Austin for New Year’s Eve. The property was centrally located and walkable to shopping and restaurants at SoCo and we were a few minutes walk from the fireworks celebration over Lady Bird Lake. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast (have the biscuits) was wonderful!

I cannot even call this a 2 star hotel, We booked a lake view room, while we got a roof view - neighbors outside roof- that was terrible view. The photos in the website was not real. The vanity was located inside the room that was not so good. They charged extra for some services that they did not serve it although they refund it when we claimed. The vale parking was taking more than 10 min when Asme your car. There was no one to bring our stuff down and I had to carry the luggage wheel to bring down our suitcases and no one opened the hotel door to the move out of the hotel lobby. In general, not a good experience with this hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay, the only complaint is that there is a miscommunication about free breakfast. I paid for it with my stay but you get vouchers for the restaurant that gives you a dollar amount that your breakfast cannot go beyond otherwise you’ll pay the difference. I just wish there were more upfront with what their “free” breakfast is just to know ahead of time
