Valet parking was terrible. They took my car to an off site lot and it got booted. Took two hours for them to retrieve my vehicle. Just waiting for a citation from the city of Austin.

Great location and great service. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. However, you can find better deals for parking in the area than what’s offered by the hotel.

My only complaint is there is no coffee offered after 10:00 and the little coffee pot in the room is just rage bait. All in all this is wonderful place to stay.

The location is great allowing for walking to various restaurants and 6th street area. The room was clean but possible renovation needed for bath tubs. Water pressure is great.

Staff very friendly and helpful . Safe in room did not work. Upon many attempts to have someone come up and fix. No attempts were made to do so. Water was not replenished daily in the room. Had to ask and was giving to me without hesitation.

One of our favorite things about this location was the convenience. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance, and having a store directly across the street made it easy to grab anything we needed. If I could change a couple of things, I would love to see a swimming pool at property! The only other challenge was the valet process during checkout. We visited during a particularly busy weekend with UT graduation and Mother's Day celebrations happening at the same time, so downtown Austin was understandably very hectic. It took about an hour to receive our vehicle after checking out. While the wait was longer than expected, we anticipated delays and made the best of it by relaxing in the beautiful lobby area. Overall, this was a great stay with comfortable accommodations, an excellent location, and outstanding customer service.

I absolutely loved our room! We had a corner room. It was spacious. The mattress on the bed was super comfortable. We had a room on the top floor and had a great view of the city from our room. I will 100% stay here again. It’s my new favorite Austin hotel.

Valet young guys regularly stood in the doorway so had to move around them our all them to move so we could get through. At times, literally picking his nose while lacking awareness of other people. Good location, close to many nearby restaurants and bars.

The complimentary water in the hotel lobby (an infused water container with cucumber) had already run out, it was around midnight, and the grocery store was already closed. We asked a staff member working at that hour if they had bottled water available since we were tired and just wanted to go to sleep after spending hours chatting and having a couple of glasses of wine near the reception area. When we asked for water, the employee requested our room number and then spent about five minutes looking around without giving us any information. At that point, I was getting frustrated because we were exhausted and simply wanted to go to bed. I may not have sounded very patient, but a clear answer would have helped. It turned out they did have bottled water available. What surprised me most was that getting a simple bottle of water became unnecessarily complicated. We even had to speak with a supervisor just to get one bottle of water. A little communication and customer service in that moment would have made a big difference.

Hotel was fine, housekeeping was great and some valet was friendly (day staff). Night shift people at the front… I would say probably the worst customer service since we arrived. I booked for a night and one day and they still asked us to checkout at 11. There was no talking through to them. Don’t work customer service if you don’t like talking to people. They offered 0 help. Couldn’t answer questions and the manager was worse than the two front desk ladies. He was disrespectful and rude. My friend actually recommended us to stay there and when they saw how completely bad the service was he felt so bad because his previous experience was nothing like that.

The room was clean. However the lighting is terrible! I am older and need good light when putting on my makeup. It did not exist. The breakfast was very crowded and picked over. There was no place to park on your own except for a garage two blocks away. I realize we were downtown

Staff enjoys lying. I checked out a couple days early, the staff told me because I booked through Expedia that Expedia would be able to handle my refund for the days I wasn’t staying. I contacted Expedia who called the property who told them they would not issue a refund. The front desk worker flat out lied to avoid having to address the issue. What a loser. Don’t stay here.

I googled hotels to stay for my weekend i came across this Hyatt hotel downtown Austin Tx. The add on Google maps shows pics of this hotel with a pool and so after I checked in naturally I asked what the pool hours are and the front desk lady stated that they did Not have a pool I explained that was the reason I went was so my 80 year old dad could relax and watch TV and me and my husband could enjoy ourselves in the pool while my dad got yo relax abd us as well. The young lady processed to tell me well you could mabey go to Marriott and buy a pool pass ? i was like u have to ne kidding me if I would have know that I would have just booked with Marriott so I asked to speak to tje manager and was told oh that is pics from 2013 and that it was a 3rd party pics ? reallyyy now how was i supposed to know that google is outdated? yeah ok I even showed her and said I wanted to be able to swim for this vacation time I had off so I asked if I could cancel my reservation she said due to booking through booking.com o would have to speak to them but when I was asked how I was going to pay I said pay at hotel which I did and NOT THROUGH BOOKING.CON.I explain this to the manager and she said we'll since its not on our original website we can not cancel or reimburse you for this stay I was like wow ok just know now where I will never spend for this business again even called customer service for Hyatt the agent seemed very irritated and Inconvinced so Never again Hyatt is not even close to the customer service as Hilton or Marriott so reminder Hyatt will never be my choice ever again not worth what you pay for here the pictures Are on my post of what the Manaher Mckensy said were 2013 pics ? My only complaint was the hallway noise insulation. I could barely hear the guests in neighboring rooms sharing a wall with me, which was great, but conversations from the hallway sounded surprisingly loud, almost as if people were inside the room. It wasn’t excessive or disruptive behavior from guests, just normal talking carrying very clearly into the room. What makes it especially surprising is that the room layout includes a small entry hallway near the bathroom, so the bed is not directly against the corridor wall. Despite that, hallway noise still traveled quite noticeably. Overall, a very pleasant stay with excellent staff and cleanliness, but light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.

The continental breakfast was bountiful and awesome. I did valet parking and felt the staff was eager to serve, well. Despite having a rental available, I felt it was more practical to use lyft to move my father and I to the local museums that also charged parking fees. The Backspace local restaurant’s happy hour was a fantastic deal for really good food and wine.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel itself was nice. Our room was spacious. However the beds were very hard. We got 2 queen beds. Both beds were like you were sleeping on boards.

Any food delivery necessitates going to the lobby to receive the food. This Hyatt is bare-bones: is this the new standard for Hyatt ? There’s only 1 port for re-charging phone and computer, and THAT one is cleverly hidden on the side of the telephone

The other hotel I stayed at. At first they had no record of my stay, tried to make me pay again and then when "there was no available room because someone smoked weed on our floor and they had to close it" they made us walk with all of our stuff to a sister hotel.

The staff were great but would not help with luggage. Considering I’m disabled and am not allowed to lift anything heavy they still would not help with luggage. Room was fine and clean however air conditioner extremely noisy and blew on us the whole night. Had to go to pharmacy to get meds for neck. Toilet ran the whole night so not much sleep. For the price I believe it could have been better.

The rooms are modern, spacious, and well thought out. The breakfast is excellent. Lots of options. Beautiful seating area as well. The staff are all quite friendly and create you upon entering and exiting the hotel. Perfect except it doesn't have a pool.

My stay was “good” overall but I had an incident with the valet, some items were stolen out of my vehicle and neither the hotel nor the valet company wants to take responsibility. Make sure you read the “agreement” for the valet parking they’re not responsible for stolen items even if it was one of their own employees.

Had a great stay at this hotel! The location is perfect—close to plenty of restaurants and great spots to grab dinner, which made exploring really easy. The atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming and comfortable, creating a relaxing vibe throughout the stay. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety to start the day right. Breakfast was great! There was a great variety of food and it was delicious. The one thing people need to know about this place is that the rooms are not sound proof or anywhere near. We stayed on the 8th floor, and we could clearly hear what people were saying in the hallways and in the room next to ours. It was loud and hard to sleep because of that. For that reason, I would not stay at this property again, although the rooms themselves were nice and well maintained.

Not a very good experience.I was really looking forward to swimming laps and found there pool is closed permanently.Parking in downtown Austin is a real problem,and the hotel offers valet only which will cost you 63$ a day.Even though they have like 4 or 5 floors of parking .Seems kinda scammy to me.We were supposed to have a downtown view but it was blocked by the building next to us.The design of the shower lets water move all over the bathroom floor,using the sink we often would be standing in a puddle.The breakfast was one positive and and a nice add on . Also the location is very central Downtown and close to 6th street which is nice.Would not stay here again or in downtown because of all the parking issues. Got Expensive and not premium at all.Just my experience maybe others had less issues.

Really lovely rooms. My first room had issues with the shower having low pressure and no hot water so they moved me and the issue was resolved! Staff was very helpful and kind. Super conveniently located within walking distance of many restaurants, conference centers and venues.

Staff was wonderful. A few issues with the room regarding the mini fridge not working, random losses of hot water and loss of AC last night. But overall the hotel and staff were great.

The room was not comfortable at all and the shower was horrible. The water flow was so bad I literally had to run around in the shower to get wet. The room was terribly noisy all night long with back up horns and slamming dumpsters. I got no sleep at all on the first night. The sofa was uncomfortable as well I expected more from a hotel at this price even though it was in downtown. Other hotels nearby were similarily priced and much nicer.

Frustrating on arrival to find there is apparently 1 luggage cart for the whole hotel. Wish they had parking options instead of valet only but we did know about this. Breakfast was delicious with fresh tasty fruit etc! Lots of options and staff was wonderfully accommodating with a toddler. Vallet staff was amazing as well! Room was a lot smaller than we expected and I thought I booked a king but it was definitely a queen. That was maybe on me though.

For the price of the hotel, valet parking should be included. The breakfast should be better much better than it was. The waffles were cold and the sausage was terrible. There should be more than one option for meats. The waffle mix should be a batter that you prepare at the time you get ready to eat. Not cooked ahead of time, cut up, and placed on a tray to serve. It was cold. The waffle brand needs to be changed, not a good taste.

The staff is very attentive and polite, from the door, to the desk, tot he table/buffet attendants. The bar could have been more of a "bar" than it seemed it was on the nights I was there. It was not utilized much, because there was not an atmosphere or set-apart location for it. Attendants from the front desk helped me at the bar??

Valet was worthless having not walk around and find someone to drop my car off too and even picking up my car I had to track someone down to help me and get my keys.

Between Expedia and Hyatt they toss the ball to each other not owning responsibility. Between Expedia and Hyatt they toss the ball to each other not owning responsibility. There goes to show you how these companies only care about profitability not customer service.at the end, I didn’t even spend the night at the hotel losing my money.

Right around the corner there was a good bbq restaurants and also within walking distance there is the Capitol, and 6th street. Expensive valet!

Sound proof was terrible. Next door guests were talking, laughing and bed exercising loudly in wee hours. We understood its holiday season and didn't bother to complain about it. Also the springs inside the mattress in my room was squeaking each time I turned around. Breakfast was quite ok with many options.

This Hyatt truly went above and beyond. The staff was wonderful, and James was a standout…he made everyone, including my mother, feel special. He’s a true asset to the Hyatt and leads with genuine care. The valet was always prompt and ready with the car. The rooms were comfortable and perfect for three travelers. Helpful directions, great suggestions, and maps made our Austin stay a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

We had to switch rooms because the first room we were assigned was under renovation. The second room was clean and comfortable but we did not like that the bathrooms have sliding glass doors instead of a traditional door. That may be fine for couples (as bathroom privacy might not be an issue) but if you are sharing a room with a friend or a relative, they can hear every single thing you do in the bathroom… we were also disappointed in breakfast.

Pros: Breakfast was simple yet offered several options. They offer coffee/lattes outside of breakfast hours for about four dollars. The gym was clean and well equipped. Staff was top notch Room was clean Cons: The pillows need to be replaced as they are old and completely broken down. Poor water pressure in the sink Shower curtain was ripped and did not close all the way leading to water on the floor. The A/C was loud and no matter how it was set never got below 70

The staff was very professional and courteous. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Close to a lot of activities - the location was perfect for all things Austin. The breakfast offered a lot of options, both hot and cold and was replenished as needed. Would stay there again.

I was really disappointed to find that the hotel didn’t provide basic lotion in the room—something I consider a standard amenity at any property. When I asked the front desk, they told me they were out of stock. It’s frustrating to see a hotel running without such essential items, especially when guests expect a certain level of preparedness and comfort.

Awesome views from the high floors, conveniently located near downtown hot spots. Clean rooms, friendly staff & valet parking tenants. Large variety on the breakfast spread. Did not have any issues during our stay, recommend this location. Will book again in the future.

It was very convenient to restaurants, shopping and the highway for travel. The staff were extraordinary. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a pleasant stay. The room was very nice and clean. I don't recall them offering breakfast but did dine in there bar one evening and the food was delicious.

The bed was extremely hard/firm it made it difficult to sleep and my room was next to the elevator. The sound of the elevator going up and down kept me from having a good nights sleep.

Well, I also want to share our experience at the Hyatt Place Austin Downtown. I've never publicly commented on any place or service we've experienced, but this time I can't stay silent. When we arrived at the hotel to check in, the first surprise was that they were going to charge us $59.00 to park our car in the hotel parking lot. Wow. We went to the desk across the hall and checked in; everything seemed fine. We arrived at our assigned room, and the first surprise was that there were two beds in the room. The reservation I had made and paid for was for a king-size bed with a city view. It was our wedding anniversary, and I didn't mind paying extra for these extra amenities. So we went down to the lobby, and I explained what was happening. The response was, "Well, we're full, and we don't have any king-size beds available." My response was, "Well, what are you going to do about it? I reserved and paid for a king-size bed with a city view." Magically, a room with a king-size bed appeared. We were assigned another room with a king-size bed. When we arrived at the room, sure enough, it had a king-size bed; but our view of the city through the window consisted of the walls of the other buildings surrounding the hotel. I called the front desk and explained that our reservation was for a city view, that we had paid extra for this amenity, and that all we could see were the walls of the other buildings. The person who answered said they couldn't do anything about it and didn't know

Recently stayed 10/11/2025 and was not impressed. Place was mediocre for the price. Just pay the extra to stay at the jw marriott across street. The location is not too bad but room should be in the $150 range not $300+ 60 valet.

The Staff was very curtious after I had found fleas in my bed and carpet. Late sleeper beware Dogs are allowed in the hotel and they are all barking in the morning.....

The hotel is busy but comfortable for a downtown hotel. Our first room was noisy from a loud whistle coming from the wall. We roughed it out the first night. In the am went to the front desk and Hakeem at guest services was fantastic. Changed our room and got us all set up. Hakeem is a fantastic member of the hotel staff.

Everyone was very nice. The rooms were clean and sanitized. Valet was quick and very polite.

The only thing I did not like was that there was no parking at hotel unless you use valet for $50.00. Wasn’t a cost I realized I would have. No one ever said anything about not being parking there. I am a 100% disabled veteran who lives on a fixed income. So they extra cost and then every time we would leave and come back it was an additional $20.00 to park it again.

The location and pricing was good. When we arrived our bathroom sink wasnt draining and the staff sent someone to fix it in an hour. The fridge in the room made A LOT of noise and the pipes above the room made a loud high pitched noise all the time. The breakfast was good and staff was courteous.

Fantastic location right at the heart of Austin. Easy walk to Rainey & 6th Street. Everything else was also a quick to walk (parks, shopping, restaurants & boards). I was genuinely shocked — providing slippers is a basic expectation, especially at a 4-star hotel. To make matters worse, by the end of my stay, they still never provided slippers. However, the room was clean and tidy, and the only negative point was the lack of slippers. Everything else was satisfactory and good.

The hotel is a great place to stay. It conveniently situated to plenty of shops and restaurants at a walking distance. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

The bed was comfortable but I thought it weird and annoying that the chair at the desk was not on wheels. I was there on business and needed to use the desk a lot and the heavy, hard to move desk chair was a surprisingly disappointing inconvenience. There are rolling chairs in the business area of the lobby- those would be good in the rooms.

Really enjoyed my stay. Staff was always helpful and friendly. My only complaint was breakfast - quality of food was poor.

Great hotel. Rooms are nice. Only issue I have is I wish the comforter was thicker for how cold I like the room at night. I like to sleep at around 68 and the comforter was too thin for me at that temp.

Great walking distance to all the places to see, 6th st., So Co shopping, Lady Bird Lake, and so many great restaurants. Parking at the hotel was expensive and we found that parking on the street was the way to go, especially if you’re checking out different spots like Barton’s Springs or Travis Lake. Street parking on Sundays is free! Overall it was a great stay except for the hiccup of being accidentally locked out of our room due to a mistake made at the front desk. My only suggestion would be to work on customer service and being more accommodating. It’s a great location and walking distance to a lot of great attractions Austin has to offer and felt pretty safe to me. Rooms were clean. I would stay again.

The staff were great, and the location was perfect—within walking distance to a variety of restaurants in downtown. We really enjoyed the vibrant street nightlife. Austin is a beautiful city filled with happy, welcoming people. My family loves spending weekends in downtown Austin, and we definitely plan to return.

Valet parking that was expensive it ended up being $130 to wait 30 hour for it. Dallas told us our car was coming then disappeared. Grayson was very accommodating and deserves a raise

Property was fine being down town you’re going to get the 2-3am drunks running through the halls but that’s typical the only let down was the cost of valet. There’s no additional parking so you have to valet and it’s 57 a day a little high especially with tips etc they should consider lowering or making it more known that hey you have to valet or provide alternate parking locations on the site

The Hyatt was a clean and comfortable stay with everything we needed, right in the center of downtown. The staff was so friendly and helpful and we had a great time overall!
