The room was clean and comfortable, good location I had reached out prior to our stay, stating that our flight was scheduled to land around midnight and asking if there was going to be an issue checking in past midnight, to which I was told no and that staff was there 24/7. Our flight was delayed a few hours so we checked in around 3am. Apparently, according to the staff after 2am we are considered a "no show" even though we paid in full prior to checking in... this cause a lot of issues with our stay, including the staff "creating" 2 new bookings, one at check in and one the next day. When the manager came to assist and said we ended up in the room he was "saving" - not sure why - he made it seem like it was our fault. They kept saying things like we had the last room, even though there were plenty of rooms left when I booked... also there was not much stocked in the little store.

Walkable to restaurants Staff knocked on my door at 1220am and woke me up to see if I had a barking dog in my room. There was a dog down the hall that was left unattended and was barking for hours. Who thinks this way?

The hotel was nice, everything was clean and seemed to be well maintained.

The air conditioning wasn't very good. It was set to minimum, but I think the upper floors are just much warmer. The hallways on the lower floors are certainly cooler. Otherwise the bad review is from the hotel being cagey about their parking. It's about 65 a night as it is valet only. There is another garage, but it's brutal without weekend rates and those are only from 11-4.

The property was clean. Everybody was friendly upon arrival. The valet was great checkout was easy.

This hotel was lovely. Looks to be recently updated. Very clean. Very helpful and friendly staff. I will stay again if I return to Austin.

Hotel & room were fine. Location is good. Room was advertised as corner room. However it was not, the actual corner location was a stairwell. This was in internal location but charged with a higher price. Deceptive!! Additionally, there was no mention that the only parking option was valet, for $75. More deception!! Staff did state there is a public garage close by, for a little less, but that closes at 9:00pm, so no in/out options. Just be transparent up front!

I think the rooms could use a refresh, and it was pretty noisy. There was fire alarm testing randomly from 8-5 Monday and Tuesday. And one of the mornings housekeeping vacuumed the hall at a little before 8 am, and hit our door which startled us. We were on 6 am California time, so we were hoping to sleep in. Also, the only parking is valet and it’s $64 per night. When I was dropping the car off one evening, the valet looked at me kinda expectantly, and I said “the key is still in it. Is there anything else?” And he said, a tip maybe. Then haha, just kidding. I told him we tip when we pick up the car.

The location was great and the staff were lovely- breakfast was pretty good too. We didn’t get our room serviced at all during our stay despite requesting it for every other day- bit disappointing

The hotel was nice. The staff was very nice and friendly. Even the valet drivers. The Breakfast was quite delicious too. BUTTTTT, we will not be returning, because all they had was valet parking and it was $70.00 a night!!!! That was LUDACRIS !!! It was 15 mins away from our destination. Learned my lesson. CHECK IF THEY HAVE PARKING!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!

The Hotel was fine the valet in the other hand lost my license plate on my car not only that there was a drink in my vehicle that did not belong to me was promised not to be charged for valet parking and they still charged me for it

This is an older hotel in downtown Austin very centrally located. It has been updated beautifully - especially the bathrooms. Really nice. We were very happy with the hotel but the valet parking was $69 per night. Expedia needs to let people know about this expense in addition to the price of the hotel. We had to use the parking as we had many bags and could not tote them from a different garage so we were captive to that exorbitant price for valet parking.

The parking is too expensive, especially for those staying at the hotel. Should be a discount for those staying at the hotel.

The breakfast was good - I would have liked scrambled eggs instead of the option they provided but all in all it was good.

The AC wasn't working properly during my two night stay. I alerted the front desk on the first night, and they sent up a small fan. Engineering found a short the next morning, supposedly fixed it, but it wasn't working properly again overnight. I told the manager the next morning by text, and the response was that, after experimenting with different temperatures & the fan modes, the manager found a setting they felt would've been fine. So apparently I didn't spend enough time playing with it. Totally my fault I guess.

Great experience with staff and the stay was wonderful. Was a little shocked by the $100.00 per day incidental fee. Stayed for 5 nights so $500.00 was an unexpected expense.

The pillows unfortunately were very thin, fluffed, but more hollow thank filled. I wish the restrooms had fans in them as well. And unfortunately all alarm clocks should be reset per stay because we weren't sure how to work it at first when it woke us up at 6 am from previous guests alarm setting. We weren't very happy with the alarm and lack of neck support in pillows mainly.

We did a lot of traveling through Texas and this was my favorite hotel. I wish I could have taken this hotel to stay in wherever we went. The location was great, the staff was so awesome. Breakfast was good, plentiful and the staff kept everything well stocked and cleaned. The room was roomy. LOVED it! The ONLY downside to staying here was the rate to park...OUCH! The valet attendants were exceptional, but it was very expensive parking.

Like the location, spacious breakfast area for games, meetings & other social activities. Enjoyed sitting in the veranda for breakfast, coffee and card games. It’s centrally located & walking distance to congress bridge, 6th street and River walks. Having water refill station is a plus! Pillows can be upgraded so I don’t have to use 3 for my head ~ too flat and soft.

Terrible interaction with the front desk person. They simply didn’t want to help me link my Hilton account to open the room door or even to access the internet. I don’t understand why, if they hate their job, they stay there. It’s very unpleasant to travel for hours only to be welcomed by someone with that attitude.

Cannot fault the quality of the hotel, the amenities or the staff. Breakfast was better than expected with a small buffet selection of hot and cold food, not your normal continental breakfast of rolls and coffee. The rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. Parking was valet only but very convenient. We were only blocks away from the Mooody theater where we saw Yung Blud and we didn’t have to drive. I will definitely be staying there again.

I have stayed at this location for several years for quick trips to Austin and have had some great experiences, but my latest trip felt like this hotel needs some definite upgrades and remodeling. Elevators are small and dingy and not all were working on my last stay. Just getting up to my room floor took 3x the normal time. Room bath towels are thin and worn, often smelling of smoke, the kind of towels you would expect to find at a motel 6. Bathrooms and showers are clean and modernized, but the rooms and carpeting need updating. Parking near this location is always a challenge, if you don’t wish to pay the $65 valet charge.

You are close to all the downtown areas you would want to go. The property has a decent gym, “a” pool (not anything to really mention), but only valet parking ($65 per night) which was not advertised anywhere. Their staff was less than pleasant.

The pillows were very flat I had to use all 4 pillows because they get flat once you lay on it. The mattress was uncomfortable you can feel the springs coming through. On the website it did not mention that I had to pay $65 for valet parking as there are no other options for this facility this would’ve been nice to know before I booked as I would’ve definitely went somewhere else.

Location for downtown was good. Just so much construction around it made it feel chaotic.

We picked up a rental car because we were traveling to Dallas for a wedding. We asked if we could park it in the garage for an hour while we got our things packed up and loaded and were told no. when I returned home, i found that hotel has charged me some fee. I contacted hotel and they told me that this is some TRF fee. i hav enot agreed to this fee or even been informed. this is attempt to rip offf guest.

The room ac did not work well and took all night to cool of. The mini fridge had a glass from with a big light you couldn't turn off and illuminated half the room at night.

Nice place. Enjoyed my stay minior inconveniences but overall enjoyed my visit.

Overcharged for parking and no assistance to correct the charges! Fees were $100 per night!!! But I was quoted $65.00. Hotel won’t assist and says to contact parking mgr who will not respond! Beware if you use their parking and it’s difficult not to as there’s not much else to choose from in that area.

The staff wasn't helpful when the guests were lined up waiting 20 minutes for an available the elevator in a 15 story building. Too many stairs to haul luggage for 70 yr old guests

Great room and stay, was not impressed with the pool

Great stay. Clean room, good breakfast. Two minor complaints of $60 mandatory valet parking and slow elevators. Couldn’t be helped but the staff was nice and the location was good. Stayed here for a 2 night concert at the Moody Center. Walked the 1.5 miles back one night. Would stay here again.

Front desk was very friendly and accommodating! Didn’t use any other facilities, but the rooms were clean and shower and beds were very nice! If you are looking for a hotel close to the bars and music this place is a great place to stay. Thank you staff for an amazing stay!

During my check in I was having some difficulties and Emma came through and helped out. She was the absolute best, and was so patient and helpful.

On the website it says parking availabl, but when you check in, there is only valet parking available. I had to pay an extra $200.00 for valet parking. I couldn't even park to check in wirhout using valet parking.

All should be warned that the Hampton provides no free parking. Your only option is to valet park your vehicle for $70 per night. They also did not have luggage cart’s available. My wife and I had to hand carry all of our luggage to the room.

The room is alright. Could use some updating. What worries me some is the elevator is not controlled by room keys. Anyone can go up and down.

The location of the property is great, you can walk everywhere in downtown, and it's in a safe neighborhood. The luggage carts were hard to find, we finally came by one on our way out after staying for 3 nights.

The room we stayed in was huge and super nice. Breakfast was good, typical continental breakfast. Only thing I would say is if you want to swim the pool is very small so if you are wanting to lounge poolside then you may want a different hotel, for me it was fine. But I would definitely be happy to stay there again.

Close to Downtown, so we were able to walk. This gave us great access to food. I enjoyed the quiet location.

Staff was great!

There were a few things that we didn’t like or were annoying. There is no restroom by the pool/fitness center area. You have to go back to your room. Two of the four days of our stay, there were no pool towels. We had to call to have them restocked. Also, the ice machines did not work on most of the floors. We found one that was working. We called and they fixed some of them. We asked for room service daily just to get fresh towels and make the bed, not full service, and the first day we were skipped. All in all, nice hotel and would stay there again. They just need to pay better attention to some things.

Nice and comfy

We walked in to soaking wet carpet by the door of our room. The front desk said they’d have maintenance look at it and never addressed it. The carpet remained soaking wet both nights we stayed. Also, there was a cockroach at the waffle station at breakfast!

The dining area had some character. The room was clean and spacious. Infinite walkable restaurant and entertainment options.

Hotels.com did NOT inform me about the mandatory $65 per night fee for guest parking, which added another 40% to the cost of the stay! Guests are required to use valet parking, there is no self-park option. Not happy about not being informed about that, could have picked another hotel with parking included.

The hotel was great, super clean and spacious room. The bed was very comfortable (if you like it soft) and the AC felt so nice with this heat. The breakfast was pretty good too, not many options but still good food and it helped for us that it was served between 6-10AM. Overall a great stay, will be back for our next weekend trip to Austin. :)

Everything was good but $100 per day security deposit was too much as we stayed for one week. We are in our 60's and we are not there for a Bachelor/Bachelorette party.

Lovely staff. Clean rooms and amenities. Comfortable. Pool was much smaller than it looked in photos. Good location for downtown.

I liked that it was walking distance to ACL Moody Theater

The stay itself was perfectly fine! The room was clean and the hotel was well maintained. Unfortunately, one of the elevators was malfunctioning and caused myself and several other people to get stuck in for 10+ minutes several times. My main complaint is tied to the cost of parking. The hotel only offers valet and charges $59 a night to park your car and sites the only reason for that charge is because parking in general, in Downtown Austin is the 3rd most expensive in the country. However, you are in charge of your parking for your guests, the charge $59 a day is your choice, and you are simply taking advantage of your guests lack of options. Shame on you.
