Super 8 by Wyndham Amarillo

We booked this room at the last moment while travelling from Colorado to Dallas just for the overnight stay, as the distance was quite long. All we were expecting was the clean room with basic facilities. However, the carpet in the room was old and felt dirty. There was some odour in the room like it was closed for days. AC was no working properly, cooling was inefficient. Bathroom door lock was broken. We somehow spent the night without complaining anything, and departed in the morning. We decided to skip the breakfast. With the similar price you should get the better experience elsewhere.

Restroom dirty ,equipment for waffle was very dirty ,that make my waffle black, I ask if they can clean it ,stuff said she didn't have nothing to clean, that they don't provide nothing to clean the waffle equipment, windows side super dirty. I record , also other think very disappointing, in the room you can small all the dust. Breakfast was good ,except for the waffle machine

The night staff was lacking to say the least, she did not check my ID, she kept having to move her fast food bag so she could check me in, I had 3 rooms they were mediocre at best not completely disgusting but we all kept our socks on and took out as little of our personal items as possible. The breakfast was ok. For the price the place is ok we will find other accommodations on our next trip..

We only stayed for one night, but this was a suitable place for a single night. Bit tired around the edges, but in general this was a satisfactory stay. Nothing of significant note.

The place is nice being construction is surrounding the property. Although, the hair dryer looked rusty and there was hair tangled in the back of it. It was a horrible sight.

Staff was great, bed was good. Shower curtain was ready to fall off the wall, hair dryer didn't work, towels were miniscule- ok for drying hands, not good at all for drying after a shower. Breakfast was good.

The ladies at the front desk were super friendly and we chatted with them for a couple minutes. The room was just what we needed. Clean, soft beds with plenty of fluffy pillows and a full ice machine in the hallway. This was a planned stop on our route to Dallas. It was a rainy day so we were not able to visit the Amarillo Zoo or the Amarillo Botanical Gardens, maybe next year. We did venture out to a local mall and it was pretty busy and had a lot of cool stores. The kids were out of school so it was bustling with young people. We visited the local Twin Peaks, the Billionaires Bacon is the bomb! I got to go to Buc-ee’s for the first time, lots to see there and the food was pretty good. It was fun to hear the staff chant when the new brisket was placed on the chopping board.

Good two night stay....breakfast was good to get started with and property staff was nice and accommodating.

The hotel served our purpose of a quick stop over for the night. For a non smoking facility, the 3rd floor reeked of cigarettes. By the morning it smelled like burnt popcorn due to the guests cooking in their rooms. The bed was comfortable and the a/c seemed fairly new. It is right on the highway so a little noisy.

Nice place to lay your head down after being on the road all day. Highly recommend!

Bath had black mold in seams of shower and VERY thin blanket between 2 sheets wasn't enough. Bed was comfortable though. USB and plug at bedside appreciated.

Was ok. Room was clean but dingy. Didn't eat breakfast. didn't realize there was no elevator and we were on the 2nd floor.

Fridge/freezer didn't work at all. Shampoo/conditioner dispensers weren't refilled; didn't offer body wash just bar soap. Not pet area/grass for dogs to use. Hair all over room from previous guest/cleaning staff > GROSS! There was trash all over the parking lot that had been there for weeks clearly. More like a motel 6 than hotel and not worth the money. Would hands down not come back here.

Everything was excellent at the super 8. The bed was especially comfortable after a long day of driving. Everything was clean and new looking. The staff was friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay again.

There was road and utility construction in front of hotel making access questionable. Used the west side entrance that was narrow and hard to see even with a hotel sign "marking the spot".

The hotel charged my card after Expedia charged me and I had to file a dispute with my bank because they said they refunded me but there is no refund on my account

The problem was that I did not get the accommodation I expected. My travel details read Room, 1 King Bed, Accessible, none smoking (Mobility, Tub w/Grab Bars) My room was not as described, when I told Maria she said they did not have tubs with grab bars and was sorry she offered me a chair to use.

The tank to the back of the toilet didn't fit properly. The toilet ran continuously. The toilet seat had hair on it. The ceiling was patched and the bathroom door was old and worn. The waffle mix tasted funny and it gave me diarrhea. One guest took his plate and got a second helping on a used plate.

Asked they guy if i could check in early, he says yea, i get there its after 5 am he tells me, check out is at 11am, so after sorting that out an not getting my initial refund, i asked if i rebook can i check in now he says yes again. Only fir this time he tells me i cant check-in until 2pm. Im a truck driver just trying to get rest on 10hr reset, only went there because of semi truck parking, but i wouldnt recommend, avoid this place at all cost.

Stay was good. Very accessible. Everything worked. Large truck parking area monitored by cameras. Overall very pleased. Will be back and plan on making this place our place to stay for our duration of job.

This property needs a major overhaul. Bathrooms and carpeting are disgusting. Rooms smelled bad. Noise from rooms around and above kept us awake most of the night.

The wall unit air was so loud and squeaky I didn't get much sleep. Cockroach in the room. I guess you get what you pay for

The air conditioning was very loud, the light in the bathroom had to be shook to come on. The clerk referred to the rooms on the first floor when in reality the rooms were in the basement of the building. The motel is in the middle of truck city, and right in front of Interstate 40, so all you hear are trucks. It was very difficult to find the entrance and difficult to find anything else, expecially restaurants.

Stayed for 1 night to go to the air port would stay again.

Bed was clean and comfortable. Shower was hot and good water pressure. Hot breakfast was good enough. Could be a bit cleaner and fixed up but i was able to sleep well and be ready for a long drive in the morning. Good enough i booked another super 8 along the way.

I chose this Super 8 due to convenience of location.It is right off of the I-40. Between Big Texan & Buc-cee's. It was pretty clean. I wouldn't walk around without any socks on. The bathroom counter and sink are lower than usual, as well as the mirror, so if you're over 5'7" it will become an issue... if you're staying there for more than one night, for whatever reason.

First impression was bad when entering a narrow hallway below ground with poor lighting. But we found the room to be very clean and as comfortable with the amenities of a much more expensive hotel.

It was supposed to be a “smoke free “ room, but the mattress (not the bed linens) smelled. It was not worth the money we spent. Breakfast was limited to eggs, biscuits and gravy, apples, coffee, juice.

Room was dirty. Carpet filthy, dust on the chairs, unfinished repairs on ceiling in shower area including yellowish brown drips from the ceiling in bathroom. Overall it was just a dirty place to stay and I wouldn’t kennel my dog in a place like that. Will never go back there.

We decided to stay here after reading good reviews of remodeling. Apparently, we got an old room. The bedding was fine. The bathroom left alot to be desired. Our bath room fan did not work. It was clean but super old tub/shower. Old blue carpet and gold drapes. The air conditioner worked great! Close to hwy noise. I felt safe there. Its good for saving oney if you want an inexpensive room with free breakfast.

Needs new sheets for bedding

If it wasn't so late when we checked in I would not have stayed. The sheets were dirty, there were bugs on the dresser, and the TV didn't work.

Motel being located adjacent to I-40, we did expect that traffic din, but not the constant semi truck engine braking noise which is typically prohibited within cities. Check-in/out was quick, the desk manager was very cordial and the breakfast buffet surprisingly good

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the facility and the room. The motel was nice and quiet and I got some good rest. The room was adequate and the bathroom very clean. The location might have some age to it, but the facility is kept up and clean. I didn't have the complimentary breakfast but the area was kept clean and orderly for sure. A bargain for the price and right off the main highway. I'll be staying here again when the I pass through town.

The upkeep of the room is fair considering the rate. Beds and pillows a little stiff. If you are on the first floor, expect creaking from the upper floor. Temperature control worked fine for a cold day in November. Breakfast was definitely 4 stars even if the seating area is very small. I stayed at 2 other pricier hotels in the same weekend and neither was even close to the breakfast selection or preparation.

The room had lots of bugs and there were a few interesting people outside all night and didn’t feel comfortable sleeping cause I was worried they would take stuff out of my truck. There was also lots of stains everywhere even in the hallways to get to the rooms.

Had a nice stay, Maria checked us in and helped arrange transportation to the airport for early morning. The bed was comfortable, great hot water, nice to have a fridge. We did not eat breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

Front desk guy William act like he was doing me a favor and telling me he don’t have room and telling me thinks like he doesn’t now how it’s going to give me a one king bed room if he don’t have one, I tell him that don’t matter a double bed and he said it matter because if the price, and then he give me a one king bed room. We used to like staying at Super Eight hotels. lately though it seems like Super Eight has gone downhill. When we checked into the Super Eight in Amarillo we were told that the only room available was on the top floor. That normally wouldn't be a problem except this location does not have an elevator. So we had to make several trips up and down the stairs to haul all of our stuff into the room. Did I mention that we are both senior citizens and we both have problems with our knees? This resulted in a very painful evening hauling our stuff upstairs, only to haul it all downstairs the next morning. When I asked the front desk attendant if we could get some help she said no. She said that since we had booked through a third party site that she couldn't do anything to help us.?.?.?... That doesn't make any sense and it seems like the woman just didn't want to be bothered with anything at all. When we got to the room there was an aroma of what I can only call "wet dog" in the room. that wasn't a pleasant smell to spend all night with. Then my wife almost fell off the toilet because the toilet was anchored on one side only. That is dangerous. The sink in this room had the bottom broken out at some time in the past. Instead of actually replacing the sink it was very crudely pasted back together with silicone caulk. It looked nasty and the edges of the broken part of the sink were sharp enough to cut your finger. Overall a horrible experience.

I reserved a king size room that was handicap accessible. When I arrived I was told that there were no king rooms and no handicap. Was put in a room on the second floor with two standard beds with an extremely noise a/c and standard tub and shower. Front counter help was very unhelpful and offered no solution for my reservation not being fulfilled. Very dissatisfied.

This property is very outdated. My husband had to mop the floor with a rag was disgusting. Pubic hairs in the bathtub dog hair everywhere. And Kleenex box and toilet paper holder were rusted. The lady at the front desk was very courteous and had a good breakfast that was the only good things I have to say about this property.

There was a case of beer frozen in the refrigerator. A stain on the carpet in the hallway. The paint job in the room was poor.

Can't say much it's small parking is okay if you get a spot it's near a off ramp trucker's use this motel if they need to relax in a room but it doesn't bother me I was driver myself with my deceased husband and my adopted daddy it's clean well lite

Stay was good. Check in said balance due but meant deposit. So that was confusing considering I paid in full on the app. I know a deposit is required but she made it sound like I was being double charged. Walls in room were gross and could’ve been cleaned a lot better.

We travel a lot and always need a pet friendly place to sleep. Sometimes, we end up in some pretty questionable places due to pet restrictions. We were very happy with the room here. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff was extremely welcoming. Recommend 100%.
