Villa Semana Resort & Spa

A beautiful property just a short distance away from the bustle of Ubud town center. Situated perfectly on the bank of the Ayung river and next to a locally owned rice field. All of the employees are so kind, detail oriented, and helpful. The villas were stunning. Having only 10 villas made our stay very personal and special.

This is a gorgeous place. We had a villa with a private pool. The spa was excellent. The view over the river were stunning. We were shore to arrange tours to wherever we wanted to go easily and affordably. The staff were kind and fantastic and they always seems to know where we were, so our room was always cleaned every time we left it. It is about 30 minutes from Ubud town with traffic, and almost 1.5 hours from the airport. This meant we are at the restaurant every night. Which was fine, but a little limiting. They do run a free shuttle to town twice a day

Everything was perfect!

The room and grounds were beautiful. The tub in the bathroom looked dirty and the water and hand held shower didn't work. You had to take a shower outside.

Lovely villa hidden in the greenery of Ubud. Beautiful and clean room with up to date facilities, very friendly and accommodating staff, delicious breakfast and the spa is just a dream! Private pool is the cherry on top! Loved everything!

Very nice close to the riverside You can mot set I your room comfortably, to set out side to many mosquitoes, Our water heater for coffee or tea I the morning was not working, I gave up for repair never came back.

I couldn't find anything that I disliked about this place.

Amazing resort in the middle of the tropical region. It's so peaceful and serene. The staff is friendly and super cooperative. I especially loved the breakfast along with the view.

The views of the rice terraces, the largest range fittings of the rooms and villa exteriors, the friendly staff - it was all Magnificent.

Exceptional

Words cannot fully convey how truly wonderful our one week stay was at Villa Semana! It is truly paradise on the Island of the Gods! The staff were exceptional!! I stayed with my son, who is special needs, and they were so wonderful with him. He keeps saying how much he wants to go back - so do I!! Our villa (Cempaka) was amazing, luxurious and roomy with everything you could want. We both had our own bedroom and bathroom, as well as our own private pool (all 10 villas at Villa Semana have their own private pool). It is simply the most relaxing place I have ever stayed (I read 3 books in the week I was there)! The view from our villa over the Ayung River was so beautiful and serene! Breakfast was fantastic, served every morning at the restaurant overlooking the river! There were so many different choices (I had a different main dish each day) and I always found it quite filling. I also loved the Bali coffee! We looked forward to breakfast every morning! We also ate dinner at the restaurant every night (except one) and the food and ambience was absolutely wonderful. The daily complimentary afternoon tea was something we looked forward to as well! We also had a couple of incredible massages at the Semana Spa, which is located right on the river with the most serene and relaxing atmosphere! Dewi, the guest relations manager, also arranged for me to take my son to a doctor. They made everything about our stay so easy! I would like the thank all the staff, especially Sudiani and Budiani in the restaurant, and Dewi, as you all looked after us so well and made us truly feel like part of the Semana family! We will definitely be coming back!! My favourite place I have ever stayed! Nothing. Everything was perfect!

Beautiful nature, the air the trees the river the rice fields the morning rosters the birds sing...

This place truly feels like a little piece of heaven on earth. There’s absolutely no reason not to give a 10/10—everything exceeded expectations. The value for money is exceptional. For tourists, Ubud is all about rice fields, waterfalls, and poolside relaxation, and Semana Resort somehow brings all of that together in one place. Waking up here every day feels like a privilege. The kitchen could be improved, but I understand they’ve kept it simple since most guests likely spend their days exploring Ubud. It’s a reasonable trade-off given the overall experience.

Stunning grounds. Lovely spacious bungalow. Quite a distance from town centre. Would not have been such a problem except for very heavy traffic.

recreates certain conditions and experiences from the past.a very quiet and secluded place.... there is no television or other system to keep you connected to the outside world. there is internet but it is complicated to get the password every time you need it....

Perfectly situated by the river. Beautiful view of rice terrace farm. Lovely grounds that are painstakingly maintained by a dedicated gardener. Generous with complimentary welcome drink and fruits, afternoon tea, entrees at dinner, cooked to order breakfast. Very attentive staff who genuinely enjoy working there.

Exceptional, exceeded expectations.

Amzing and friendly staff. 12/10 for the staff's hospitality. Very welcoming and always keen to help. Food was tasty and fresh. Only issue I had was cheking in with my daughter. This facilty is aimed for 12+ and older for safety reasons. But manager made an exception as it was too late at night. When i mentioned my daughter can swim and i wont hold them responsible for any issues they let us stay in for the entire duration. This is an unique place to stay and experience the beauty, calmness and traditional balinese hospitality!!! Swimming pool edge was made of concrete (sharp edges sometime) but floor and wall was made of tiles (smooth). So be careful as we got scratches from resting our hand on concrete. Wooden furnitures and utensils has a tendency of building mould when it is close to water.

A Truly Amazing Resort Experience! From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the service at this resort was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of, providing detailed information about the Ogoh-Ogoh parade and Nyepi Day, which made our stay even more special. The rooms are beautifully designed, offering comfort and privacy, while the private pool was an absolute highlight. The main pool and the breathtaking jungle views added to the overall charm of the resort. Dining at the on-site restaurant was a great experience—delicious food at excellent value. The spa, nestled by the river, provided the most relaxing atmosphere, and I can confidently say I had one of the best massages ever! The location is perfect—just outside Ubud’s busy center, offering a peaceful retreat with stunning scenery, yet still convenient enough to reach town quickly via Grab scooter or the resort’s free shuttle service. They also offer affordable transfer options. I highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Ubud. It was an unforgettable experience, and I truly hope to return one day!
