The style of this vintage Mexican hotel is good. Have nice and indie vibe. However, the staff there are dumb, they are lack of management. During our stay, me and my boyfriend were doing things happily on bed and one of their staff used key to open our door directly walked in without any knocking and noticing which scared us badly. And the front desk explained the room service entered the wrong room by mistake and don’t know where is the right room??! If they have room secured lock that would be better, but they are quite old fashioned and unfortunately I don’t feel safe at all. Very uncomfortable psychologically.

It's very old but there's no way to get into contact with anyone for reservations or the front desk. I've been attempting to call for 2 days and it's just robots and robots. Very unnecessary.

Did not disclose prior that bar was taken down and not operation. Provided two drinks vouchers for the mini bar yet still charged me.

We’ve made it a habit to come any special occasion!! The pent house is a little pricey, but worth the cost.

Quaint, with a classic lobby, squeaky floorboards, and doors that don't quite fit the doorframes. Leans heavily on its theme, nominally a hotel in Cuba, and the run down furniture and old school appliances help to see that vibe. It does highlight why some advances were made since that time: the light is warm but dim, the sink is small, the bed squeaks. I visited while both restaurant and bar were under renovation, so they may add some needed amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My rate was reasonable (discounted for the lack of restaurant/bar, maybe) so i cant complain, but if i had paid full rack rate, i think I'd feel less sanguine.

Really nothing more than just a room. Price was not any cheaper than a full service hotel in a better part of town. The bar and the restaurant were both allegedly undergoing renovation so really no services here other than your room.

Bathroom was a little dirty. Coffee was not available in the morning, morning front desk clerk was not attentive. Other than those details, a charming hotel room with a lovely balcony, and close to the River walk.

No restaurant, no breakfast options on site, and the bar is closed indefinitely. This is my second time at this property and I was so disappointed to discover that it had been bought out by a larger company. A lot of the personal touches were missing and the Mojito Bar was one of the coooles bars in SA. The staff are still great and it’s still a beautiful building.

Beautiful historic hotel! We had a corner room with lots of natural light and tall ceilings. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. Liked the full fridge to keep snacks during our stay.

Came up for a Bridal Shoot for my daughter and I to stay here and get ready. Ordered Mimosa's for two that was supposed to be beautifully set up for $55; instead the ingredients stuck in the fridge (ok fine) with no chiller left in the room and I was charged $193 after I checked out ofcourse. I tried calling, emailing and customer support and nothing. This is unacceptable.

Property was located in a quiet stretch of the Riverwalk. It was an easy walk to the center of everything, but you didn't have the craziness and chaos that exists in the central riverwalk area. At night we sat on the hotel porch, drank wine, and relaxed in relative silence. It was lovely. My only issue with the room was that it had no chair to sit and relax, you only had the bed.

Restaurant closed for private party so no dinner or breakfast or river-side beverages. Major bummer. Room was dirty and the whole room kept shaking every 20 minutes - not sure why, maybe a train kept passing by? Told me they were charging me $100 for incidentals, then they tried to put $200 on my credit card, I spoke up, then they put $110 on my credit card. Been a long time guest at the Hotel Havana --- sad to see it's not doing very well. Hesitant to return or recommend it to anyone.

This was an adorable and charming hotel. You felt transported as you entered and were greeted with the smell of wood and leather, so pleasant. The room was equally charming with the four poster bed cute fridge and beautiful wood floors, which did creak when you walked on them. The shared porch was a nice touch. Easy access to the river. Which is so fun at night.

To add to it all when entering this property there is only a one lane driveway that goes past a small porte-cochere where a set of concrete stairs lead to an unmarked side entrance. Since the drive is only one lane wide cars back up in both directions waiting to try to get through while we unloaded and hauled our luggage up the stairs. Again, ridiculous set up. Then when checking in we inquired about the hotel restaurant that was advertised and learned that it was in the back of the building but didn't open until Wednesday (this was a Monday). Then when asked where to park we were directed to a small lot next to the hotel which was obviously part of the property. Upon checking out we discovered that we were charged $25 to use their lot without being disclosed. My recommendation is to not waste your time and money on this old building that has nothing good to offer.

We had brunch at Ocho and the food was so delicious! That was comfortable Room was clean. Very walkable to downtown San Antonio and the Riverwalk. We’ll definitely stay here again!

I’ve always loved this hotel but I think it’s time for a refresh. Upon arrival there were people sleeping behind the hotel. We arrived early but the little bar didn’t open until 6 .the rooms just seem tired. The bath vanity was warped and had water damage in the side . The old furniture used to seem quirky and kitschy but now seems just worn out. Probably won’t stay here again unless they refresh. C’mon Hotel Havana you used to be the darling of San Antonio!

Really beautiful dark wood interior traditional hotel w rooms looking out on SA riverwalk. We loved that it was right next to the Tobin Center where we were seeing a show and the restaurant (Ocho) was a great bonus. The Mimosa package was a nice option. Only suggestion we have is to add in room coffee maker. We will definitely visit again particularly when we go to shows at the Tobin Center.

Also, the bar and restaurant advertised were closed. Room service was available and delivered in Styrofoam containers; there's better presentation at a Holiday Inn Express . All street traffic – as well as humans conversing on the street – could be heard from the second floor. Also heard from our room: every move of the guests in neighboring rooms; another guest woke us up at 2 a.m. And at one point the side entrance was locked and the hotel staffed could not open it. This meant exiting the front of the hotel through the enormous iron gates, onto the public sidewalk, through the parking lot, and back again to retrieve anything from the car. Also, only 6 neatly folded tissues were provided in the bathroom. We had to bring in our tissue box from the car. This was not a practical, convenient, peaceful or relaxing stay. The hotel's only positive is that it is near the Riverwalk.

The hotel was about a 30 minute walk to the Pearl and 10 minutes to downtown. The room was noisy from traffic on Saturday night and the wi-fi was hard to get on. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom had cracked tile on the floor and needed updating. I would rate it as average overall.

Loved that it was a unique older small hotel. The room was beautifully styled. Just a little disappointed that I couldn’t get in my room until 4pm. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm. Bar closed. Restaurant limited hours. I wasn’t able to enjoy my VIP perk of a free drink. I suggest let the free drink be something from the fridge in the room if bar and restaurant are closed. Staff were friendly. I would stay again.

It is kinda funky. Restaurant is Cuban, so be prepared for unusual food. Bar downstairs is great, but does not open until 6. Parking is a problem for oversized vehicles. Suites are not really suite rooms. Not comfortable seating etc.......and to watch TV you have to be in bed. We still like it and keep going back.

My daughters and I went on a girls trip. We loved the hotel because of the old atmosphere with modern comfort. Beautiful old wood, creaky stairs, an old warped mirror in the hall but with a great mattress, and very nice towels. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. The basic coffee service in the morning only had powder creamer, but the coffee itself was very good.

Ocho was absolutely wonderful and we really liked the Havana Bar. The whole place has an awesome vibe. We would definitely stay again!

This was a hotel stay that I'll never forget. It was the most beautiful place I've ever been. The second you walk in the door and the beautiful scent hits you I was engulfed in tranquility. It was so beautifully decorated and really spoke to my aesthetic. Our room was so comfortable and the bathroom was so cool! We had the Hemingway Suite and it was worth every penny. In the morning I went out and sat on the balcony and enjoyed soaking up the sun and hearing the river going by. Some people complain that you can hear everything happening in the hotel but to me I felt like that was part of the charm. It's a 100-year-old building! I liked all the creaky wood footsteps you could hear mixed with echoes of laughter. The bed was so comfortable I had to ask what it was and yes, I did order one for myself for my home. The young men at the front desk was so lovely and kind and helped with any and everything I needed. I honestly can't stop thinking about this place and how badly I want to go back. I'm already planning my birthday next year so I have a reason to come back down to San Antonio and enjoy this extraordinary place. Cool little bonus was at check in they give you free little mini Topo Chico's!

a beautiful hotel with so much history, when we were checking in a couple stated they were there for a haunted pod cast, did not know the history of the spirits. we only experienced lights flickering but from what i heard the activity is in the pent house floor. this is a much stay, wonderful customer service, exquisite restaurant and ambiance, and rooms exceptionally clean and comfy. great getaway or in our case anniversary weekend.

The ambience is all what you could hope for. Basement speakeasy is a mood -and the entire hotel will transport you to a liminal place in time. Wooden shutters on the windows and good quality snacks seal the deal on the charming room. Can’t wait to go back! Oh and the OCHO restaurant? Amazing food. Like seriously amazing

We had an awesome stay. Place is perfect. It’s far enough from the crazy busy areas of the river walk that you don't even notice all the kaos with people and traffic.

This is a FANTASTIC HOTEL! The employees are friendly and the place is like stepping back into old Cuba. The auditorium next door always has something wonderful going on. Or one of our favorites is going to the rooftop seating and watching old cartoons on the wall. It’s on the tail of the river walk and close to the downtown area with a nice little in and out without the downtown traffic once you get familiar with the area. We love staying in different rooms each time and we’ve stayed in four different beautiful rooms. I Highly recommend for a wonderful experience and I didn’t even mention the 5 Star Restaurant Ocho. Cheers

Justin was the absolute best! He knows amazing customer service. We had a great time. The old world charm was just as I expected. Bathrooms definitely need an update. While I did not really enjoy the food at Ocho the drinks were perfect. I woyld stay here again. Great location on the less traveled path of the Riverwalk.

I love this hotel. The vibe is laid back, it's in a great location, the restaurant behind it is delicious. I felt welcomed as soon as i walked in the door. It's my favorite place to stay when i work in san antonio.

Our room was not ready at checkin when we really needed it, as we were only in for one night and needed to prepare for our event. The restaurant was not open and the staff gave poor support around helping us find some food, and they were unwilling to give us an hour of grace on check-out time even though they did not have our room ready for an hour at check-in. This is a funky hotel, and I supported the original vision for it and the initial creation of it, I understand they are now under new ownership. I would never stay there again based on the attitude and service of the staff and their unwillingness to make it right.

The hotel was ok. Our room was close to a bar and was very loud until about midnight. Definitely not family friendly.
