    The park across the street has to many homeless people which made my family uncomfortable when exit the hotel main entrance. This will be our last stay here at this property.

    Very nice hotel. Room was very nice (jr suite). It was close to elevator so there was noise from that. There was only 1 elevator working (of 3) so there was alot of waiting for an elevator. Good location. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. We were there for a wedding. All the events related to the wedding were wonderful.

    2 of the 3 elevators were broken. The bed was great but, the room temperature stayed moderate to warm. Very clean. Very helpful staff. Beautiful hotel!

    Everything was very nice. There was not . A refrigerator in the room but one was beought to room when I asked. There are no ice machines. You had to call for ice. Only 1 elevator out of three were working.

One of the other management team members(I believe) Monica, walked us to have a drink on the Hotel for my birthday and made a reservation for the restaurant. Awesome service! While dining at the restaurant we were greeted by the general manager. Edith our waitress answered all of our questions of the menu. all I can say is AMAZING, AMAZING , AMAZING...... We would like to reserve a day with all our family member! (6 adult children and 8 grandchildren. It was fiesta and the young adults were loud and came knocking on our door. The other thing the tv channels are not good. overall we had an excellent time.

    Aside from us being pushed to a late check in (without notice) to being moved from our original suite to a smaller room without a fold out couch. They brought in a roll away bed (that remained in our way the entire stay). The bed arrived 4.5hrs late after we were assured it would be in the room once we returned from our outing. Issues with shower and coffee maker as well. Valet was great and easy (3rd party tho) Won’t be using this hotel again.

    Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite live up to the caliber the hotel promotes. Our room was immediately next to an elevator that appeared to be having mechanical issues, making quite a bit of noise throughout the night. I also had to make two separate requests for a rollaway bed before one was finally delivered. During room service, we ordered a bottle of champagne, which was brought to the room but no one offered to open it. We were unable to get it open ourselves and ultimately didn’t drink it. At checkout, I asked if it could be refunded since it had never been opened or used. The staff member did check with a supervisor but ultimately said that wasn’t possible. Another thing worth noting: there’s no refrigerator in the room and no ice machine on the floor. If you need ice, you have to request it to be brought up. I did appreciate the front desk letting us know this ahead of time. The rooms themselves are beautiful, but the overall hospitality experience was lacking. Throughout our stay, we didn’t encounter many smiles or welcoming interactions from staff. It felt like most of the attention was directed toward a convention or business group that was in-house, rather than the other guests staying a

    Impressive old property with modern twist . Rooms large / great location . 1. Service levels hit and miss. Breakfast is good but expect to wait to be seated (1st morning - 10 mins standing around to be seated took 45 mins before order arrived ) - 2nd morning different staff - much more efficient - take of 2 halves . Room make up - missed - bedroom not hoovered / dusty The management of this hotel is very poor . It has massive potential but needs direction . Be careful if booking through OTA where breakfast included as hotel tries to apply a $40 credit - which contravenes what you booked and paid for on OTA . Manger is very inexperienced and has no understanding of how OTA works or basic customer respect

    When I checked in, I was given a pool view room instead of the garden view room that I paid extra for and when I switched rooms, they gave me the garden view room that shared a wall with the gym (the wall where the bed was located) so we were kept up by vacuuming in the gym at 10 p.m. and woken up by hotel guests throwing or dropping weights in the gym, which shake the bed. The hallway noise was substantial until midnight or so as well. Overall, the hotel lobby was pretty and the amenities were fine but I wouldn't recommend this hotel for people who want to get a good night's sleep or quiet.

    It looked prettier online The staff when I got there putting me under stress, room table not clean, an elevator didn’t work then the other was having issues. Trash in lobby was full, should’ve had staff on it. Saw another guest throwing trash, it was so piled up she had to press it down. Not too impressive for a luxury hotel

    We stayed for 2 nights. Housekeeping came to our room only to put in hand soaps that was not there in the first place. They didn’t replace the towels that we needed and left on the floor of the bathroom nor make the bed. The parking was bad. There was so much cars at the valet area that we didn’t have space to park and had to go around again or stop in the middle of the road. Not safe as cars were coming.

    I liked the hotel's history, the cake pops left by housekeeping. Bed was super comfortable too and Anacocha restaurant was a delicious. I didn't like that the hotel did not accept cash. That's a convenience expected of most hotels and it hurt my ability to tip staff.

    Location was nice and the lobby looked very nice. The hotel is little run down. Bathroom was dirty and some towels were falling apart. They seem to be understaffed, lines for check in, restaurant and check out. A/C didn't work, we were sweating all night, thankfully we came only for one night, so it wasn't so bad. The room smelled little funky, probably old carpet. Some of the wallpaper was peeling off. I would not call this luxury.

Apparently there was a water problem with the city on another day that somehow affected the boilers but not the actual water coming to the building (in other words lame reason as to why no hot water). Did I mention the maintenance guy who showed up at 1030pm to fix the tub, or the housekeeper ringing out buzzer at 730am waking us up and everyone on our floor wondering if we wanted our room cleaned (different day then the one they missed).

    The service was excellent, beautiful property. Only downside was the smell - reminded me of very old European properties with a vague sewer smell in the room like the drains do not have proper traps. Common areas smelled fine. Valet was overpriced, the bar was excellent!

    Excellent hotel. Staff is amazing- friendly, and professional. Rooms are beautiful and very convenient. Also it’s located very well centrally, walked around as many beautiful places to be seen within walking distance of the hotel. Riverwalk is just a few blocks away, there is a beautiful church across the street veterans memorial is amazing right next to the hotel. We had breakfast in the restaurant downstairs and it was beautiful and tasty.

    We didnt get to stay. They claimed that the suite i had reserved was no longer available. They offered to get me setup into a lower room with two queen beds and i said if you comp my valet. They refused. Looks like they were only interested in heping themselves. I have been a loyal customer of this hotel for years so i am overly disappointed in the hotel. But hotel contessa actually made up for it. $400 cheaper and extremely welcoming. I've found a new hotel in San Antonio. They also trued to blame Hotels.com. i told them Hotels.com only knows what is available from st anthony telling them. Poor excuse.

    I've stayed on the property before and my previous experience motivated me to stay there again. The desk clerk that checked me in was not very friendly - as if he was mad I had questions about the property. I booked a junior suite, not cheap -- so I expected the room to be comfy & quiet. It was far from that. In the bedroom, I could hear the elevators dragging at all hours. It sounded as though an upstairs neighbor was dragging a couch back and forth across the floor. I arrived to check in very late on the first night so the noise was minimal -- I assume all guest were asleep and the elevators were not being used. I booked through Orbitz so I had to work with both the hotel and the booking service for any "fixes." Mario, a member of the hotel staff, was extremely helpful, friendly and professional as we attempted to work this issue together. I was refunded half the cost of the room for the first night. Because I identified the issue on the second night, they attempted to find me a new room for the last night. There was no partial refund provided for the second night, as I had requested through Orbitz -- I had to remain in the very loud, unpeaceful room. Very disappointing. When I was moved the next day, it was to the other side of the property (no noise thankfully), but into a smaller room. For the amount that I paid or that anyone pays to stay in this hotel, room 431 should not be available to any patron if the elevator is not fixed.

Restaurants are very good, lovely lobby, concierge is wonderful. Our first stay in San Antonio and we enjoyed it. Also, great restaurants nearby, and the River Walk is an easy stroll. all in all, very very nice.

    This was my first time at this property and, WOW! The staff from the moment we pulled up was absolutely amazing. The entire place was perfectly decorated for the holiday as well. The room service was great, providing ice when requested so we didn’t have to go on a hunt indoor it. I will say there are/were several ‘crackheads’ in the surrounding streets so just be ready for that. I think that’s a SA problem and has zero impact on the actual property. Anytime I ever come back, this is where I’m staying. I loved the bar, the spacious rooms and the architecture was breathtaking.

    The worst hotel stay i have had in a long time...luxury hotel?? 700 dollars later for one night..emailed days before and called 2hrs before stay to make sure we could get in just a little bit earlier than 4.. waited in lobby for hours with other guests. I was told they need to change pillows..that took an hour. Then they came in to room while i was in shower early to clean room. I have never been at a worse hotel. Awful awdul awful

    We were late checking in and the room type we paid for was given away. The hotel gave us an in-house credit but the room wasn’t bad it just wasn’t what we paid for and expected. Only one elevator out of three was working. The hotel was short on the waitstaff but our waiter Derik was phenomenal and gave great advice on the breakfast items. If not for Derik we would’ve went to the local IHOP.

    Rooms walls are paper thin so u could here everything going in neighbors rooms could here neighbors so slept with ear plugs each night- everyone was very professional beside one female individual that acted like she owned the hotel at the breakfast restaurant by the name of OVI — apologized to me for being short staffed and then made me wait 30 minutes because she was gonna help someone carry cereal and coffee to their room-when only 1 elevator was working/ of course she did it on purpose since I told her she had 3 tables sitting and 7 tables available — so she made it a point to teach me a lesson- so yeah/ this young lady does not belong in this type of job or hotel

    Decent hotel. Lobby is nice and beautiful. The cheap decorations and art scattered among the real art and antiques is really off putting. Parking is outrageously high. LOTS of homeless in the area. Especially in the park across the street. Final bill was WAY higher than quoted.

This is an older hotel but our room seemed to be in a bit of disrepair on the walls and the shower. The service was great, room service food was pricy and fell short on flavor, TV screen in the living room was going out. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times but I think now it’s time to find a different favorite in downtown San Antonio. This was not worth the price

    The two drawbacks were that the gym is long but small with a limited amount of weights and equipment. It's ok if there are a few people in the gym, but crowded with 5 or more. Outside the hotel, horses and carts congregate. This leads to horses urinating creating a smell.

    It was ok for price and being in the city. Cable was out the whole time so couldn’t get the local news. A lot of construction. Asked for towels as we did not ask for the room to be cleaned but they didn’t bring them. We got some from the pool. No morning coffee downstairs. Keurig pods went quick. Good place but not awesome. Good price. Awesome city!!!!
