Reviews
The hotel has a great location near attractions, with friendly staff and clean rooms. However, parking is a common issue, with high fees and limited space. Some guests also reported problems with air conditioning, small rooms, and breakfast not being included in the room rate.

Valet guys were helpful and friendly and offered us a fair price. Front desk staff seemed ambivalent about our arrival, questions, and departure. Our A/C unit was dripping and the room smelled a little damp - front desk staff did not seem concerned. We had a spacious, comfortable first floor room right on the street - it was noisy until about midnight, then it was quiet. Breakfast was adequate - fresh fruit would be a nice addition. Easy walk to Alamo and River Walk. Nearby blocks feel pretty seedy.

This hotel is in a great location and has great atmosphere . Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The only negative wasa lack of electrical outlets at the nightstand if you have medical devices. I would definitely stay here again .

This is a fantastic hotel. You can see history in the architecture. Tried the restaurant, Indian food is not to my liking but the staff was great. Walking distance to the Alamo, Towers of the Americas and the river walk, Riverwalk mall and the Go Rio cruise. Used the city pass which was great!! Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel itself is a beautiful historic building that has been very well maintained. While the rooms are on the smaller side, that's to be expected in a property with this much character. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, and since most visitors spend their days exploring San Antonio, the room size was never an issue for us. The complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of options and a great way to start the day. The attached Indian restaurant was an unexpected highlight of our stay. The food was outstanding, and I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional throughout our visit. Check-in and check-out were both quick and seamless. Parking is valet only, but at $45 per night I felt it was worth it for the convenience, security, and in-and-out access. Overall, Hotel 1914 offers a great combination of history, cleanliness, excellent service, and a fantastic location. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Antonio.

This is a great little hotel for a very reasonable price for downtown. The rooms and elevator are small. For the elevator, it would carry about 2 people with luggage. Everything has been updated perfectly. Knowing this is an old Hotel makes the small rooms size make sense. The breakfast was good. It’s in an attached Indian restaurant, but is the good, standard hotel hot breakfast. This hotel Is within walking distance of places like riverwalk, Aztec theater, majestic theater, and several downtown hotels spots. This was a great choice for us!

However, there were several serious issues affecting rest. First, the room faces the street, and noise from pedestrians and traffic is noticeable. We stayed on the first floor, and the windows are fully transparent without any privacy film. Without closing the curtains, people outside can clearly see into the room, which reduces privacy. The most severe issue occurred last night. Due to a major basketball-related controversy downtown, the area became extremely crowded. Numerous vehicles gathered on the streets, repeatedly honking horns loudly and continuously, with shouting and yelling from pedestrians. The noise lasted from around 9 PM until approximately 2 AM. I tried to contact the front desk to change rooms, but was told no rooms were available. This was one of the most difficult nights I have experienced during travel in many years, and I was unable to fall asleep until around 3 AM. I would suggest the hotel: * Inform guests about potential street noise in advance * Improve sound insulation or window privacy * Provide warnings during major city events that may affect noise levels I will also make sure to note noise sensitivity when booking in the future.

The location
- 5/5
Very clean. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Pleasant walking distance to the Riverwalk. The hotel was very eclectic. I did not like that. There was no parking at the hotel. And that you had to pay $45 overnight each day to park away from the hotel. The breakfast was just OK, there should be more meat options and a better eggs.

They didn't do my room for the whole 3 days I was there I would expect my room to be done everyday for a 4-star hotel

-King with “Sofa bed” was not a sofa bed, more like a foldable chair that was very uncomfortable for my son. -The bathroom sink was very slow to drain

The location is good. It is very close to the Riverwalk and Alamo. The walls are thin. I could hear all the traffic and my neighbors cough. They know this is an issue and offer you earplugs at check-in, but it isn't relaxing or restful. There isn't parking on site either, so we paid an additional $50 for valet. The breakfast was subpar, even for hotel breakfast standards.

This was a nice place to stay, it was clean and comfortable. The outside surroundings could get a little loud at times, but it wasn't too bad. The breakfast was ok, plus it was free. Getting around on foot was manageable for what we wanted to explore downtown.
- 4/5
There's a paid parking lot right next to the hotel. A lot of shady characters around. One guy was passed out right there and there were other homeless and drunk folk loitering around. The hotel itself is at the end of the road and the staff mentioned that even they don't venture out in the other direction. If you're on a budget you could stay here but if you can afford a better place, you can find places to stay in better areas. Proximity to the river walk isn't a perk exclusive to the hotel, the whole town is along the river walk, so just pick any place and you'd be by the river walk. This place is just a block away from Alamo, though and other touristy places though.

The building itself isn’t much to look at but It is in a convenient location, extremely clean & a short walk to the riverwalk, not to mention, a full breakfast is included with their very reasonable rates.

Price was very good, the location is good, and the room was clean and cool. They included breakfast with the rate, and coffee! I think the free coffee was the best thing. Two issues, they don't have onsite parking and the nightlife is very loud outside of the hotel. The noise level is not something the hotel can control, other than replacing the windows with more sound insulating windows. For parking, you must go to a paid parking lot close by, and there's several choices. I arrived late in the evening, and we were leaving at noon, but the parking lot system charged me for 2 days. Less than 24 hours and I paid for 48 hours. Not the fault of the hotel, but I think they hotel should make arrangement with one of the lots to help make this a better experience for guests.

The hotel was beautiful and clean. The valet parking was just a smidge cheaper than the public parking lot next door. We stayed on the 7th floor and barely heard any street traffic. The room was the smallest room I’ve ever been in. I realize this is a historic hotel that was renovated, but the TV was mounted on a false wall. There was at least two feet from the false wall to the actual back wall. I felt very claustrophobic staying in that room.

First they don’t have a car lot I had to Pat 51 dolls extra for one day and breakfast was only 7 thru 9 two hours only. No ever again would I stay there. To expensive not worth it.
- 2/5
Bad: very loud cars and people outside hotel, breakfast was minimal, enormous cockroach in room, rooms and valet very overpriced (valet $50+tip). If this hotel was half the price, maybe, but at these rates, in this neighborhood, it just felt scuzzy.
- 3/5
Great location, very central. Room was decent . Very loud on the street outside, ask for an interior room. Strong smell of deodorizer everywhere. Indian restaurant on site, if you don’t like that smell you won’t enjoy the hotel. It was strong and then masked by a strong deodorizer. Gross combination. Very very old single pane windows so lots of noise from the streeet.

The hotel pictures are very deceiving, the rooms are very tiny. When you walk in there’s a peculiar smell that for me personally I didn’t like. There’s no privacy whatsoever, everything that you talk or watch in the room is being heard in the hallway. Be prepared to pay for parking, the hotel charges 45 overnight parking, if you park in the lot is 20 per day which isn’t too bad. I didn’t try the breakfast because the restaurant looked empty the whole week so for us personally we didn’t trust the food. Oh and lastly the AC apparently don’t work, room was super hot especially at night. Overall we didn’t feel safe at this place.

If staying here, I would highly recommend asking not to get a connecting room. Well, I can’t speak for all rooms, but ours had one and at the time, there was another family in the other room. The problem was that there was a FULL 1 inch gap from the bottom of the door to the floor! You could hear absolutely everything! I wished I would have taken a picture but it didn’t even cross my mind at the time.

We arrived a bit early and was able to book in which was really helpful and appreciated. The room was a little dated but clean and comfortable. The hotel was great for access to the River Walk, The Alamo and all other areas of interest, for the price it was fine. Breakfast could have been a bit better, it was a bit basic and not the best, but that was the only thing that was not good.

Location, Location, Location! We were 10 min walk from the Riverwalk and even closer to many bars and restaurants on Broadway. Other attractions were only 20 mins in either direction to get to. Very convenient location and very inexpensive stay. Rooms were extremely small! No place to conveniently put your luggage or belongings. Especially when you are 2 people with suitcases. 1 person in that room might have been ok. It is a very old hotel. Carpeting in the halls and throughout was very old and dingy. Valet parking for someone staying there was very expensive at $45 per day! If we had utilized it, it would have cost more than the hotel stay itself. We were forced to use public parking which was actually cheaper per day. If you are renting a car, do your research.

Staff was not friendly - not even an hello when we checked in just ‘ ID and credit’

Well, the lobby floor was filthy for the two days we spent at the hotel…stuff spilled it looked like that just attracts dirt and looks yucky, but nobody cared enough to mop up the lobby floors or those in the elevators. Couldn’t raise the curtains in our room as a couple were broken, and hard to figure out honestly. **The Ice from the hall machine had bugs in it.** The breakfast downstairs was very good…located in Indian food restaurant next door. Coffee was good. Rooms were tiny, beds comfortable, bathrooms were seemingly updated…It was cheap and just minutes walking to all the stuff you want to walk to. Alamo, River Walk and tons of bars/restaurants and sites to see.

I can’t really say I “liked” anything about the property. It was adequate but just adequate for sleeping and not much else. The “best” part was the convenience to downtown San Antonio. To start with, the hotel sent a message that they did not have onsite parking so I was prepared to pay for parking. I did not; however, know the only option was valet parking which cost $102 dollars for 2 nights. The building is historic but not well maintained and shares an address with an Indian restaurant and the smell of Indian food can be smelled even on the 7th floor. Not pleasant. The front desk attendant was less than welcoming. Not rude, just not welcoming. If I had not already pre-paid and could have cancelled my reservation, I would have. I was assigned a room on the 7th floor which was fine but the floor was suffocatingly hot. The room AC was fine but once I stepped out of the room I immediately felt like I needed another shower. The room was extremely small for the price and was only enough room to sleep. There was only a desk chair to sit in, nothing else other than the bed, in fact the bathroom was roomier than the actual room. The complimentary breakfast was only open for 2 hours 7-9, so if you sleep in you’re out of luck. The breakfast was just ok. There was very little variety AND it was served in the Indian restaurant, which was weird. I would not choose this hotel again and feel it was HIGHLY overpriced for what they offered.

Historic. small rooms yet quaint
- 4/5
I like that it was walking distance to the Alamo plus the Riverwalk. Parking was next-door and it was an average of $25 a night. The only thing that I had an issue with it was raining and cold and there was no way to turn on the heater in the room plus the TV remote was not working and there was no way of watching the television while I was in the room. Breakfast was average , they had powdered eggs which you can tell by the texture and the taste. You’re better off going to the McDonald’s down the street to get a better breakfast.
- 3/5
Parking was valet only, and somehow we received a parking ticket in the mail. When we tried to call the hotel we can not get ahold of anyone or it immediately disconnects us. Very angry about this because our vehicle was in their possession at the time of the ticket.
- 3/5
The stay was great! Comfy beds and clean. What I didn't like was staying on the 1st floor, street level. Had I known this I would not have booked. I did inquire about moving to an upper level, but there was no available rooms. Parking was also a separate fee. This should have been taken care of by the property. Overall we had a great trip!

Great location, close to The Alamo and all that area. Close to Travis Park. Friendly staff, quick check in process, & fast and professional valet. View from window was very pretty at nice. Hotel elevators were very small. Room was a little small to but still very comfortable with a really nice view of Travis Park.

The hotel is old, obviously, and our room was a small one. But I quickly realized that it felt more like staying with family than just having a hotel room — everyone was so astonishingly kind and helpful and friendly. The restaurant is really good — both the generous breakfast and the Indian restaurant they operate later in the day. They talked to my curious teenagers and took an interest in their wellbeing — even adjusting the spiciness of the food for my heat-loving son. I would definitely stay there again.

Location Tiny rooms tiny elevators only paid parking or paid velvet
- 2/5
Difficult finding parking on a weekend. Unsafe rooms with door gaps that can see into the hallway. The breakfast is in the same room as the Indian Resturant they have at night and as a pregnant woman I could not stand the smell in the mornings, I would literally gag walking downstairs and you can smell it in your room through the vents after 5pm. We had a handicap room that had stairs after you get off the elevator. I understand you are downtown so you hear music but this was a different level of loudness, it felt as if the windows were open. Very dirty carpets.
- 3/5
It was almost as if we were catfished. These pictures are very different from the actual appeal of the hotel. The rooms are small and the tubs appear dirty because of the grips in the bottom of the tub/shower, and everywhere is dimly lit (the lobby, the rooms, the hallways) not sure if this was on purpose or not. The soap dispenser in the bathroom fell off the wall and dripped soap all over our toiletries in the middle of the night. There was hair all in the towels and tub when we first arrived. However, the staff members were very accommodating and friendly, and so was valet! The breakfast selection was limited but did the job, however breakfast is from (7-9am) just fyi. The Riverwalk is a quick scooter (3-5 min) scooter ride. The stay was okay for the price...
- 5/5
We were somewhat disappointed in the breakfast selections. We used Valet Parking and it cost us $45 plus tax for one night. Pricey but I guess it was worth it to have secure parking. The room was a bit small but, since it is a historic building, it was managable and it was very clean and comfortable. Our only disappointment is that the windows appear original to the building so they are single pane. We heard road noise all night. Bed was comfy but the noise kept waking us up.

The location is great! The amenities are nice. The hotel is old and not well insulated you will hear the cars outside. Bring some earplugs because it’s a great spot!
- 5/5
Things like caulk lines were wonky and not pristine, not a big deal. You can tell the building is old and has been modified. The floor downstairs could use a grout cleaning, and the restaurant floor was sticky. Those are my only complaints. The elevator is TINY so if you aren't a fan of elevators then that might bother you. It was walking distance from the Greyhound terminal.

free morning breakfast, was one of the better, ... above the norm i have expperienced.
- 3/5
Our stay was good, everyone was curtious and the room was very good. The one thing that ruined our stay was the noxious odor from whatever you spray 24/7 in the entire hotel. It made me feel sick,i wheezed and had to use my inhaler because that air deodorizer is not necessary and it's bad for the environment! Stop, please stop using that.

The location was PERFECT!! A very short walk to the Riverwalk. Lots of food options nearby, and quiet!!
- 5/5
For our trip there and time in hotel, it was a great hotel to stay at.
- 4/5
They charge for the parking.
- 2/5
I had to locate offsite parking, and pay for it separately, parking next to the hotel was 32.00 per day. The continental breakfast was very limited as to options and hot foods were not kept refilled. No plans to visit this business again.
- 5/5
The restaurant next door was so good!
- 4/5
Only stayed one night
- 5/5
The staff was excellent super nice . The rooms were clean and smelled good . I loved the area I was in . It felt super safe and 3 mins walk to the Alamo and 7 mins to river walk . It’s around a lot f stores and food places . We have stayed here twice and will continue too. We recommend it always .
- 1/5
Room was dirty along with the bed sheets and restroom. Tv was strangely crooked/ mounted wrong. Staff seemed annoyed if you asked them questions or just showed your presence.
- 3/5
Be ready for intense smells. They have diffusers throughout the hotel, which isn’t ideal for anyone with migraines. The rooms are small but walkable and cheaper than other hotels downtown. The water pressure in the shower for hot water was terrible. Nowhere to park that doesn’t cost $85 a night Probably would stay again.
- 2/5
The elevators are super small. If you stay with kids, be aware that there is a side of rooms that face the street which is full of nightclubs and bars. The music blared until 2 AM. We asked to change rooms but they said they were full. They should have the courtesy to put families on the side of rooms that doesn’t face the street- but they didn’t. However, the Indian food restaurant had delicious food!
- 5/5
Todo muy limpio y recogido
- 2/5
Two we had no soap at sink or soap or shampoo or conditioner in shower area. Three the sheets were like sandpaper.
- 4/5
We stayed here for Spring Break. Location was perfect walking distance to the Alamo, River center Mall and the River Walk. The rooms were very clean and staff was friendly. The parking is conveniently located right next to the hotel. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
I didn’t go to the gym
- 5/5
….
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and not fancy.
- 3/5
Pool was freezing and although it is surronded by walls its technically open on top and was freezing
- 3/5
You should really put information on your website that the indoor pool isn’t heated because if we had known that we wouldn’t have stayed there. My grandson wanted to be able to swim and he was so disappointed. Very unfair
- 2/5
The pool was not indoor as it is advertised. Ice cold water, was sad to not be able to swim as we thought. All night long there was a “alcohol party” as the front desk called so loud we could hear the music, microphone, and people it happening right below and behind our room. Front desk told us it would end at 9:30/10 and continued well after 1am on a weeknight. Could also hear/smell people smoking right at our window through night as well. Overall very poor experience.
- 4/5
Location was perfect. The river walk was just around the corner. Loved the gym, breakfast was great and staff was nice. but parking was a struggle, and elevators were very sketchy. But overall it was a good experience.
- 4/5
Customer service needs improvement and elevators are too small.
- 3/5
Pros: Location: Unbelievable location. It is two blocks walk to The Alamo and four blocks walk to the Riverwalk. That can't be beat. Breakfast: The included breakfast was as good as you'll get at a hotel of this level; warm eggs and bacon, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, etc. No waffle maker, but that's fine. Also, the breakfast is served in the part of the hotel that is normally an actual restaurant meaning for the first time in my experience, there were PLENTY of tables for the guests (no fighting for that one open table). Beds: Beds and pillows are comfortable. No difficulty sleeping at all. Beds may have been a bit smaller than an average Queen size, but not noticeably. Shower: The shower includes a tub. We didn't take a bath, but the nice part about the combo is that you can set the shower water temperature perfectly BEFORE you switch it to the overhead shower. No more standing in freezing or boiling water waiting for the temperature to settle. Cons: Room Size. The room is small. I mean... small. The refrigerator is in the closet and you can't actually open the closet all the way to get to it because it smacks against the bed. We asked the staff if there was something that could be done, but they pointed out there was literally no space to move the bed at all. Stuck. Cleaning: Although the hotel is definitely clean (no stains or smells), if you want...
- 4/5
Elevator was way too small to get in with the wheel chair.
- 5/5
Perfect location
- 5/5
The hotel had a great location. The room was awesome. It had a convenient location about a three minute walk from Alamo. They had an excellent gym. Breakfast was pretty good.

Y tu apretados o varios viajes para subir todo.lo unico nuevo en el cuarto es el baño remodelado Las alfombras en el segundo piso pasadisimas de estilo te dan la sensacion de un hotel Viejo y sucio , no lo recomiendo,

This hotel was great. It was right by the Alamo. The gym was great! The pool was very nice. Even my walk didn’t find anything to complain about!!!!!!!
- 5/5
A couple of blocks away from the Alamo and shopping center! We had a great view of the nearby park that was hosting a crawfish festival and the room itself is cozy and clean. Staff were friendly, helpful and

Room was small but no surprise in a heritage bldg. Clean, good amenities, nice breakfast, easy walking to River Walk and Alamo. Staff were friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Awesome room. Slow single elevator. Great breakfast. Great location. I’ll stay here again.
- 4/5
One thing to be aware of is that this hotel’s pool is not heated and was very cold during our stay in march. The pool is technically indoors, but has no roof above it. Other than that, the pool area was nice and clean with chairs and tables provided.
- 5/5
room is not huge but it was comfortable and clean...great location to river walk and down town shopping(walking distance)

I love old classic hotels. The room was very clean and cute. The only slight negative about our room was the lack of soundproofing. We were on the sixth floor and could hear everything on the street through the old, ancient windows. But we played a sound app on our phone to help cover the noise, so overall not a big deal. The front desk staff was exceptional. Very friendly :)

Customer service was perfect. Parking was very convenient. The room is small, but who cares because all we did is sleep. Hotel is located directly next-door to an amazing Indian restaurant. My only complaint I did not like was the fact that the toilet paper was a little bit rough from when they put decorations and it was hard to get use. But, the flower on top of it was a perfect touch. Check-in was nothing far from amazing great Customer Service checkout was mediocre. It was a Sunday morning, and the Guy really looked as if he was needed to be unbothered. Breakfast was great zero complaints full of carbs. Will stay again!!!

The walk into lobby floors had old porcelain like tile which when wet turned slippery. Bath towels were frayed, thin and not wide or long enough to make a difference. Also has only one set for two people for a 2 night stay. Had to request 2 times to have them bring new clean set an only 3 bath towels were brought to room. No wash cloths or face towels. Room had a musty smell and carpet wasnt clean. Room was extremely small which made moving around with 2 people a challenge. Bathroom had no vent fan so the steam from shower was on the counter, mirrors and everything. Phone receivers cord wasn’t holding and came off whenever I tried to use. Elevator was small and the luggage cart and 2 people was so tight, to where you had the lift the cart to put it in a position to be in the elevator. Remote for television was waste of time to use. It was generic and basic functions glitched. The staff was accommodating but overall condition of the interior of “hotel “was dingy, old and rundown. Breakfast as it was, shouldn’t been offered. Less than average variety and quality.

Clean, nicely renovated, complimentary breakfast and close to convention. Although the rooms are rather small, other than that it was a great stay.
- 5/5
Room was spotless. Staff was very helpful and engaging. NOTE: Pay their parking rate of $25 a night which is much cheaper than using the surrounding lots on your own.

Amanda was super helpful and recommended a great coffee shop. Location was very convenient, close to river walk and airport. Rooms were a bit small but not bad for the price.

Amenities
- 4/5
The room was wonderful & everything I needed. My only complaint comes from my check in process. My room was cancelled by the property & Expedia fixed the issue by rebooking working in concert with the hotel. The check in person was nice about the situation, but that was the last thing I needed after a long flight into San Antonio.
- 5/5
- 5/5
Room spotless awesome stay go for it
- 2/5
The room was smaller than expected. However, most of the staff were very nice. One front desk representative did give a hard time when asked why i was charged for parking and i had not chosen any parking. Aside from having my money taken out of account without my permission, the stay was below average.
- 5/5
Great Stay
- 1/5
The elevator didn’t work and we were not told when I had called a few hours before, after we checked in they told us it wasn’t working and our room was on the third floor we asked for something lower and they didn’t have anything then if that wasn’t bad enough it was during an artic blast and we had no heat I got them to come show me thought I might be doing something wrong and he showed me I told him no air is coming out and he said it takes time so we went to our show and came back 2 1/2 hours latter and still was cold so we had no heater all night and I got sick we would have left but it was dark and ice on the roads, then it was really noisy , people being loud in the hall, on check out I told them it was the worse stay I’ve ever experienced I told them everything and they said oh that’s to bad, we will never stay there again or recommend it to any, matter of fact we will tell people not to stay there. I have tried to call several times to rectify this but they seen my number and never answered
- 3/5
Room was clean. Staff was okay. Breakfast was for only a short time and a grab and go. We could smell the curry from the restaurant. Overall it wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t Stay there again.
- 2/5
The room was smaller than expected, the elevator wasn’t working and it was hard to get out things up and down. Also the breakfast was very par and hardly any options.
- 3/5
The room was fine but dated and small. The elevators are too small also. Luggage cart doesn't fit without having to lift and move it.
- 1/5
The elevator didn’t work, the room wasn’t properly cleaned, leaving on the stairs and seeing what was being done in the kitchen was not okay.
- 3/5
Elevator was broken room was really small. Bathroom door got stuck couldn't even open it after showering
- 3/5
Place stinks, unexpected parking fee, no breakfast included
- 5/5
My stay was AMAZING! Amanda and Vanessa were very hospitable and allowed me to have late check out due to my late flight home. The hotel is close to everything I wanted to do. The nights were quiet, the showers were warm & the room was comfortable. I had an exceptionally great view of downtown and I didn’t even want to close my blinds. Thank you so much! I wish my stay was longer so I could try the Indian Restaurant that is attached.
- 3/5
Kinda dirty
- 5/5
I enjoyed it. Very clean smells very good . Close to everything walking distance. I didn’t use my car at all . Parking safe $25 at night . Nice view depending which side you’re in . I’ll will come back for sure .
- 2/5
The place was very small and cheap, badly remodeled, parking was expensive, customer service was 3out of 5 no shampoo or soap to shower provided
- 5/5
The bathroom was kinda messy prior to us arriving but besides that it was an awesome stay and would come again
- 5/5
The young lady at the front desk on the morning of 01/18/26 was very attentive and she was helpful. She was very nice and friendly.
- 3/5
The location was good. Plenty of parking (that you have to pay for). The "indoor pool" is inside but there is no roof, so it was freezing. The room was small but it was just us 3. For $90 a night it was good.
- 5/5
Greeting with a smile and attention to details of surroundings attractions

The location is great. It was a comfortable stay. I would definitely go back.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, and great parking
- 3/5
Breakfast was cereal bagels or toast and the noise level we were on th fourth floor and windows were still old single pane as cars drove by on broadway engines and loud music was like you street level on a porch
- 2/5
Room was extremely small!!!
- 1/5
No parking was $45.00 when i could've had parked at the same parking for $25.00 the room was super small nothing comper
- 4/5
Parking was very close and easy. Walking distance to restaurants and Riverwalk. But in a quieter area. Great price. Comfort and all the amenities you need.
- 5/5
Nice hotel with onsite parking. Easy walk ti river walk. Historic building
- 4/5
I would not, however, recommend this hotel for a business trip. The room is a little tight and the desk was small.
- 1/5
The hole hotel stinks something terrible. For being historical hotel i excepted so much more. The additional 38 dollar parking pass was just a slap in the dace.
- 3/5
Nos dieron un cuarto con el baño sucio , La taza del baño sucia y el shower sucio , podrían mejorar en la limpieza . Podrían mejorar en el servicio de limpieza

- 4/5

- 4/5

- 2/5
Rooms need updating, water wasn’t hot at all. Friendly workers
- 1/5
Not worth the price felt like a cheap motel and no parking
- 5/5
Very clean very nice loved the quietness
- 3/5
No bar, no breakfast, no dining in the hotel
- 2/5
Street noise was VERY amplified in the room. Dirty hand towel was found in the bathroom. K-cup machine didnt work, but that was fine as they had good coffee in the lobby. The hotel is located a couple of blocks outside of what I would consider my "comfort zone" in terms of personal safety.
- 5/5
Very clean room, I love the old building. Friendly staff.
- 4/5
The room we had was ridiculously small, and the weekend partying was loud until about 2am or so… But most importantly the bed was comfortable - which is honestly biggest consideration when choosing a hotel. The price was reasonable…The room was clean too - a big plus,
- 4/5
Clean rooms no breakfast bar
- 3/5
The rooms are small, you have to pay for parking, and you can hear everything in the hallway and from outside.
- 2/5
No breakfast
- 5/5
The shower had a great transfer bench for accessibility.
- 4/5
If you love Indian food perfect place to stay. Very clean and quiet. After several flight delays arriving and staying here was absolutely wonderful.
- 4/5
A clean comfortable room for a reasonable price. Also walking distance to many of the downtown popular destinations.
- 5/5
Located in downtown, walking distance to river walk. Very reasonably priced.
- 4/5
Conveniently situated in a very good location within all the shops/restaurants etc.
- 4/5
The room was clean, but the windows were very thin. I had to check if they were open due to how much noise from the street was coming in. As for parking, it was about $40 for night in the public parking space next door. They were going to comp my parking as I had paid for breakfast and there was no breakfast. However, you have to purchase the parking before going in or you will have a chance of needing to pay for a boot removal on your car. In other words, if you are traveling with someone, ask if they can stay in the car while the other person checks in. If you’re traveling solo, it seems you’ll run into the same problem. The hotel is very close to the riverwalk with about a two block distance. The convenience of where it was located was very nice. It made it easier to enjoy downtown without having to worry too much about other commuting expenses.
- 4/5
Great location. Very cool historic building if you like that kind of thing like I do. Staff is very friendly and helpful. But you have to be OK with downtown noise. The windows are historic and therefore very thin and you can hear lots of City noise. Bring a white noise machine if you don't party during the night hours. Also the walls between units are a bit on the thin side. If someone is listening to loud music or screaming, you will hear them muffled. But honestly for the price it was a nice stay. Definitely more higher end than a budget hotel!
- 2/5
The first thing you notice upon entering the hotel is the smell. They use automatic air fresheners, but instead of making the place feel fresh, the hallways and rooms smell unpleasant, and it gets worse the higher you go. The room had a thermostat, but no matter how low we turned it, it would not cool the room. It was extremely hot and you can hear every car passing by, as well as noise from outside, the hallways, and even neighboring rooms. Combined with the heat, it was nearly impossible to get any rest at night. Overall, while the hotel tries to present itself well, the strong odors, lack of effective cooling, thin walls, and noise made for a very uncomfortable stay.
- 2/5
The room was clean but the hotel had a lot of bad things happening, the service was bad
- 4/5
It was like going back in time, but in a good way. Very unique looking hotel inside. The room we were in was small but updated. Convenient location.
- 5/5
Everything was great, except that we could hear the doors bang closed really loud in our room and the beds seemed to small for a queen size beds. Besides that everything was great.
- 3/5
The parking was too pricey, the structure of the room was weird. The elevator was very small my family of 4 barely fit. It’s not what the pictures online shows. I would of expected more from best western premier
- 5/5
There were plenty of food options within a walkable distance. The staff was the best part of the stay. They were so pleasant and more than accommodating. I've stayed a few times at the St. Anthony and now always stay at the Best Western if they have a room. I really appreciate the staff for their kindness and hospitality! Oh and excellent Indian food restaurant connected to hotel ❤️
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and courteous allowing me early and late checkout. Very convenient for me
- 3/5
never happened before and I always use the app.
- 5/5
It was great in all aspects and was conveniently located.
- 3/5
Small room, no free water bottles, no soap bar in bathroom.
- 2/5
The room had wroches
- 5/5
Great place.
- 5/5
Overall great experience!
- 5/5
nice helpful staff and beautiful room with nice soaps
- 4/5
Pretty good for the price. Parking was a little confusing and we didn’t have soap in our room, just lotion and conditioner (?) No remote for the tv either. Other than that though it was pretty good! Indoor pool, and staff was more than kind. A little dirty in the hallways.
- 4/5
The hotel was excellent. Room was a little cramped for a 2 bed but was super clean and in a great area. BUT do not go to the Indian resturant tied to this hotel. The wait staff was super rude short staffed and seating and taking other Indian customers who just walked in went up to the waiter asking to be seated, if did not say anything he was going to give our tabel away. Finally one of the waitresses told us its not good to sit because they have so many orders pending they might close and not serve us even if we had already sat down. Also one of the waiters tried to argue with us about how many were in our table looking down at us and laughing at one of the females in our group. Worst experience ever.
- 5/5
Property is clean, good bfast, fast check in and out, and lasty islts convenient locations
- 3/5
The first impression was nice but for parking is kinda a joke. $81 for 2 days is reasonable considering if it was through the actual website would be $108. Room upon entrance immediately smelled of mildew and quite small but room was overall clean while the coffee machine inside was dirty. Elevator made me aware of a fear of them. I loved the stay but some improvements could be made. Delicious Indian Cuisine under the facility is absolutely delicious though and would definitely recommend if you’re a fan of good food.
- 5/5
I love this historical building! The gentleman at the front was so polite. Check in was easy and fast. The location was perfect, we were just far enough to be out of all the commotion but in a safe and quiet area. Everything was within walking distance! Parking was great. The room was small but perfect for us, we just needed a place to sleep. Bathroom was spacious and shower felt amazing! No complaints. We had a wonderful time!
- 4/5
Parking is close and affordable. The price for the area is great. Staff are reliable and honest.
- 5/5
Amazing place
- 5/5
Very clean and conveniently located near the river walk and eateries.
- 5/5
Great location 2 blocks from the Alamo
- 5/5
I think the owners did a good job in keeping the historic hotel charm and modernizing it. The room and bathroom was clean. There is a $20 charge for parking, but it is well lit and has cameras. I would recommend this hotel.

Did see roaches which is the reason I put 3 stars for cleanliness.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay the only thing it is loud on the weekends lol
- 5/5
A little hard to find not after that 10/10
- 5/5
The hotel is a historic building upgraded. Very good job and a unique experience. The Alamo and river walk are within a 5 minute walk. Very clean and safe area.
- 4/5
Very nice "historic" hotel. Like many reviews, the room was small (just a 1 person walkway between bed and hanging cabinet), but worked for us. Highly recommend for single or couple in this king room. Bed was great and lamp access from each side, with charging ports/outlets. Bathroom/shower was great. Elevators were small (3-4 people at most) but quick and efficient. Some covered parking is available at guest cost.
- 5/5
The staff was very polite
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
Rooms were to small but clean not happy because you had to pay for breakfast and parking
- 5/5
Everything great
- 5/5
Only a little hot in elevator but rooms are very comfortable!
- 4/5
They charge a lot for the parking
- 3/5
Ac problem but the moved me to another room. Very clean .
- 4/5
Property is in a great location to walk to everything, there is a rooftop bar one building over that will keep you up all night, windows are thin. Beds a very firm so sleep was not great at all.
- 4/5
It was very nice
- 3/5
Room was ok but very noisy being at the front of the hotel on the main road. Overall the hotel served a purpose, and the price was good compared to others in the area. It’s a case of “you get what you pay for”.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly. You should be aware they do pay for parking lot, you have to ask
- 4/5
Nice and close to Riverwalk
- 5/5
Great location ... comfy rooms ... great amenities ... very good value ... highly recommend
- 5/5
I would definitely stay here again. Great Location. Very clean and comfortable. Its an older building so the rooms and elevator are a bit smaller . Great value considering the location is 5 minute walk to the Alamo and a 10 minute walk to the Riverwalk. Hotel has great ameneties such as in room fridge and microwave , water and coffee in the lobby , keureg machine in room , modern shower and air conditioning that works well. I would highly recommend this hotel !
- 4/5
It was quiet and close to many things. Very walkable area, safe.
- 1/5
Be prepared to pay extra per day for parking. Staff was not helpful about payment. I canceled my reservation and went somewhere else. Not the honeymoon i planned.
- 4/5
Room was very nice and clean but parking is an extra $40/day and there is constant loud beeping and noise on the street outside.
- 1/5
The elevator was very small. The pool was very cold. It states there is an in room crib, not true, which was EXTREMELY inconvenient. There was a roach in the closet. There were only 2 washcloths in my room for 4 people and they couldn’t provide any when we asked for more. The staff was very nice.
- 3/5
Overall I enjoyed my stay. I have a little frustration. I called ahead of time for early check in and it wasn’t honored. Also the desk clerk did not welcome me in as I stood right in front of him and had to start the conversation myself. When I arrived I was told that the room was being cleaned. Also when I asked to go ahead and pay for my room while I waited I was told I could not. There were several plugs in my room that did not work and the lighting in the room was very dim. Honestly I would stay again as these were minor disappointments.

The location is decent and the parking set up is good if you will be using your car.

Very nice and clean hotel. Kind staff. This probably has to be one of my favorite stays so far while visiting downtown San Antonio. I would love to room here again someday.

The location was perfect. We were just 5 minutes from the Alamo and the riverwalk. Lots to do. Also the Indian Restaurant was fantastic. Great food
- 3/5
The hallways and common areas reeked of cleaning products (i would sneeze each time i left the room), there was in-room coffee but only French Vanilla flavor. The room was oddly laid out and the blackout curtains didn't fully darken the room so sleeping was tough. The restaurant looked good though and I do wish we'd had time to try it.

Love this spot. Very clean very quiet staff is awesome. Definitely coming back.

The hotel is nice and clean. Our room didn't have any city view. The windows were covered with some window signage. But the room was very clean. It's 2 blocks from the Alamo and river walk.

The room I booked was very small no room to walk around it was just a very small room with a King bed the bed still had candy under the covers no cable and staff was very rude
- 4/5
Very loud, due to outdoor noise, parking is 36$ around 41$ with tax otherwise I liked the hotel and the history behind it. Also no free breakfast you must buy it.

The property was great if I go back to San Antonio I’ll definitely stay here again.

I booked three rooms and they had all the rooms in different floors . I wanted all three rooms in the same floor . Bad services about parking lot . Not a good place to stay for Christmas vacation.

My check in was at 4pm, when I arrive at 3:50. I was told our room wouldn’t be ready until 5pm. We walked around the areas a bit, when we came back at 5 they said the room would not be ready until 6 or 6:30pm. We made a 5 hour drive to go to the game at 6:30pm. I as never able to check in, shower or anything. We had to go straight to the game because our room was not ready. After the game ended around 9pm, we drove 5 hours back home because this hotel could not clean a room that was reserved 2 weeks before arrival. The worst hotel experience of my life! -100 / 10 stars

Near river walk

I just very like how much they kept the original ways of the old hotel, and how modern the rooms also look at the same time.
- 5/5
The hotel is located so close to everything...walking distance to so much stuff!
- 4/5
Although rooms were small, hotel is a great affordable option within walking distance to the Riverwalk.
- 5/5
Love the hotel. The only thing I didn’t like was the 40$ a night parking fee which they give you comp pass but for only one vehicle.
- 4/5
Property was decent. My room was comfy. I got what i needed from my stay

Well kept historical building located within walking distance of many popular sites, like the Alamo and the Riverwalk.

Really enjoyed our stay except the heater didn’t work and it was a little cool. Very nice staff.

This hotel is in need of a deep clean and some maintenance.

Convenience

I loved how the building is historic and has been there since 1914! The inside lobby is beautiful! It was a short walk to the river walk!
- 1/5
No security on site and anyone can walk in 24 hours a day.
- 5/5
Comfortable, and convenient location. It’s a great option for the price!

Clean Hotel! Everything you need is in walkable distance!

Conveniently accessible to Riverwalk and all the restaurants,

A.C. never worked in the room. They changed us rooms twice before getting a room that would cool down enough. Once I'm getting comfortable again in the third room, I noticed dried up puke on the bathroom door and carpet. I just gave up by then. There was no need to mention it the clerk. Obviously, these issues are acceptable to them.

Love the unique vibe that the property gives off. Enjoy it alot
- 5/5
The staff was accommodating, the area was beautiful and was surrounded by many restaurants and bars. The optional parking pass sounds like a lot at $36 but you will end up paying more just trying to park in the area by yourself so I recommend the parking pass. The hotel in general was very nice and clean.

Hotel is average. However night front desk staff was not friendly.

Everything was great!

The room we got was tight. Barely any space to move around in.
