The stay at Candlewood Suites was absolutely perfect! The hotel and room were spotless. No smell of mold or mildew at all. Checking in was so easy and straightforward. The guy who checked us in “M” (I know I can’t say his name here) was very professional and kind. He offered me an upgrade and I’m so happy I accepted. He was so welcoming and made me feel like an honored guest. The suite reminded me more of a luxury apartment with it’s modern appliances and cabinets. It had everything you could possibly need. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Quiet, comfortable, accommodating, friendly, and professional staff. Everyone we encountered in the hallways was smiling and greeted is. This place is on repeat whenever we visit SA. Thank you Candlewood Suites for such a wonderful experience!

The only reason I gave the property 2 stars is there were a lot of people standing outside the hotel that definitely weren’t staying there doing inappropriate things

The only thing I didn’t like was I was woken up in the morning by staff asking if I was still in my room as they were knocking on each door to see which one was vacant for those that had already checked out early. Isn’t the system supposed to let them know of this? Instead of knocking each room?

Parking and Staff were great. I didn't know that they don't clean the rooms everyday and you have to empty your own trash cans.

We got there before check in time and they let us check in !! One of the cleanest hotels I’ve been to in a while. 5 minutes from the Air Force Base, he was great since we were there for our son graduation.

We always try to stay at a place with suites because it usually comes with a kitchenette, and a large bathroom. Candlewood did not disappoint! Will stay at another in the future. It was perfect! The staff were very helpful, the bed was more comfortable than most hotel beds.

My companion and I have stayed at this hotel at least three other times while visiting family in San Antonio. It's clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near our family as well as restaurants, shopping, and attractions. I like the Candlewood Suites brand having stayed at the location in El Paso, Texas a few times as well. The amenities vary based on location and ownership. This location has an indoor pool, which I have not used; a fitness room (nice) and a laundry room (dryers aren’t great), as well as a room where you can purchase snacks, various sundries and a free coffee bar. However, unlike the El Paso location that offers a free continental breakfast, this location does not. They do have some breakfast items for sale, and fruit such oranges and apples, which they charge you for. We found it more cost-effective to purchase food items from a grocery store for our nearly weeklong visit. It’s disappointing though that they don’t offer continental breakfast since they get a lot of business from the military base in the area like Lackland Air Force base. Besides that, they seem to have an elevator in the center of the building that is frequently out of order. There is another one at the far end of the building that they recommend you use in addition to the stairs at both ends of the building, but it can be inconvenient depending on where your room is located. They have a security guard on duty at night, which offers some sense of security. Overall, it’s a nice hotel.

They do not clean the rooms daily, you have to stay longer than 7 days to get cleaning services. I have never stayed in any hotel that didn’t offer at least every other day a room refresh, This includes clean towels, We stayed 5 nights, on our 2nd night, i called front desk and requested clean towels and was told if i wanted clean towels i needed to come down to the front desk to get them. Like seriously, god forbid any customer service be given!!! So 4 floors down I go! There are 2 elevators that services the hotel, the day we checked in the agent told us 1 elevator was broken so the only accessible elevator was on the far side, ok i get it, things break, no big deal however 2 days later the only working elevator broke down too. Soooo now there are no working elevator’s.Honestly taking the stairs is good cardio but when i asked the front desk what about someone with mobility issues or an elderly person, who’s going to help them? They just kind of had an attitude of oh well. Staff was not very friendly our entire stay.. and why didn’t they get the first elevator that had already been broken for days fixed? it was broken 2 days before the second one took a crapper. Talk about zero sense of urgency! I do NOT recommend y’all!

The Lackland area is pretty terrible so I wasn’t expecting too much but I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were and overall property was. Everything was very clean and every member of staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying here again when I come into town.

Perfect hotel for what we needed! Literally across the highway from Lackland. It only took us about 8 minutes to get to base. The hotel is clean, has FREE laundry facilities, and thr staff was wonderful, all of them! We felt safe there. There was a security guard that was in the parking lot each night. We will definitely stay again of we are in the area. Great hotel!!!

Staff was extremely helpful, friendly and the rooms were a great size for 4 people. If you need a place for an extended stay they have kotchens and all the things you need to cook too. The location was great as we were close to everything but not in an extremely busy area.

We loved our room! The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are super comfortable and you really feel at home! Staff are kind and friendly, the gym and laundry room are well equipped and are easy to access. Instant hot water and close to everything

Even with windows closed the freeway traffic was very loud at night. I havnt been to a hotel in 15 years that still uses basic television antenna for tv service. Smart TVs would be a nice upgrade. Every night there was a guy smoking marijuana right next to the hotel exit door. Onsite security would be nice. Some of the "fresh fruit" in the coffee area was bruised and spoiled. Both elevators were not operating for for almost an entire day.

Great spot if you need to attend Air Force boot camp graduation! Clean quiet rooms. Only issue was the elevators were out most of our 4 day stay.

Incredible area, considering the distance from LAFB for a BMT graduation like us was perfect!! the room is super clean especially the bathroom I am very pleased. Only little negative comment I have... maybe it's just the room we had #309 the toilet room when you flush was super loud yup! you had to see it to believe so If you had to go in the middle of the night just be aware otherwise I highly recommend and will go back there again.

Room was spotless and well kept!! The kitchenette was equipped with everything we needed. Very nice staff. Our room key didn’t work at first, so we headed to the front desk again, but the receptionist found out about it and was already on her way to our room to give us new keys.

Rooms were very nice & clean. The salt water pool was amazing. Staff were incredibly friendly & helpful. Laundry facilities broke while I was using them & they had them fixed by morning. I will definitely stay at this property again when I go to visit my daughter on the Lackland Air Force base.

Property is great, super close to post for BMT graduations. Surrounding area not so nice. But if you have a car you can just drive downtown and have a great time. If you don’t plan on venturing out and wanting things close walking distance then stay downtown. I enjoyed the hotel it was quiet and I didn’t mind driving to the city. Check out the River Walk, the Alamo and the mirror made. River walk is all restaurants very little stores. If you walk in the city towards The Almo there are tons of shops. I loved the convenience of this hotel to base!

Honestly one of the sweetest staff and always helpful! The little snack shop on the first floor is very helpful with many last minute necessities. I will be rebooking in the future so amazing.

it was a budget for the hotel close to Seaworld and I had no issues with the room. The area was not bad. It was great they had security in the parking lot during the night. I like that it was free parking so I don’t have to pay extra. they have an indoor pool, which is really nice and clean. we stayed three days in the room and I like that it has a kitchen with appliances, a fridge we’re able to put a pack of waters and our leftovers. It’s 30 minutes away from the cantera outlets. we needed a crib for the baby and they gave it to us right away and it’s free.

Staff was nice and courteous, the hotel condition was average to below average. The elevator seemed fairly rickity, and unreliable. Luckily my fiancé suggested we take the stairs. About 10 minutes later, we got a text saying the elevator was out of order. The televisions work, but would be nice to update to a tv with app options, not just cable. Appreciated nonetheless. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way, unless you force it shut. Then to open, you felt like you were pulling the handle off. Bed and linens were good, ac worked, ice machine worked, everything else was about average.

Been there twice & both times the staff were very polite and very helpful. It's a place of comfort soon as i walk inside. Pet friendly, i would recommend this place to anyone that is going to travel for military graduation or just vacation in the city.

This hotel is by far the newest and nicest place within close proximity to the Luke Gate of JBSA LACKLAND. This is the place to stay if you are attending BMT Graduation. Bring your Airman back to relax and visit. The surrounding neighborhood is older, but the hotel property is safe!

It is a very clean, comfortable ,new and safe property. The surrounding area is an older neighborhood.

Elevator near lobby needs service. Even when working it’s too slow and was not working part of the time. Bath sink did not empty properly and it took two calls to get help. Eventually it was fixed. Upstairs room had two small children and one call to desk got them quieter. Desk staff was exceptional

Great place to stay. Kitchen facilities were perfect for our needs. Beds comfy. I wish there were more than 3 towels and washcloths for 2 persons for the 5 nights. The sign at the entrance on both sides is not visible due to it being too low to the ground and behind trees. Makes it very hard to locate.

The location is perfect. Super close the Luke visitor center. The staff was really friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that I found a German roach in the bathroom and if there is one there are millions.

nice hotel that is far enough from the hustle but close enough to still be able to get around, if needed. stayed here during fiesta and it’s close to stmu. has tesla chargers as well, which was a nice surprise. overall, great stay.

We stayed here for our son’s Air Force BMT graduation. It is a great location for Lackland Base activities. The room was clean and very comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Our stay was wonderful and this hotel was extremely clean, comfortable and welcoming. We felt very much at home and the free laundry was a big plus. When you stay at a hotel you either have those that feel kind of icky and those that are so-so, and then those that you feel completely at ease and comfortable in - Candlewood Suites was the latter!! Would most definitely stay here again!

I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The staff was friendly and it was a very peaceful environment. I felt safe and the room was so convenient with many necessities in the kitchenette area. Originally I was booked into a room that was a down grade and upon entering the room it was not clean . The staff corrected the error , but once I was booked into the correct room . I noticed the toilet was cracked . I informed the front desk which they stated they were aware of the issues. The hotel was full for the air force graduation. The elevator was extremely hot . Which was a concern, so we took the stairs.

The Hotel was great close to lackland Airforce base 5 minutes away. The staff was great. Would definitely recommend for Airforce graduation. We stay 3-4 to 3/7. Only we didn’t like was the neighborhood. But candlewood has security so we fell safe

The people at the front desk were very polite, friendly and efficient. What I didn’t like was no continental breakfast and no vending machines on our floor.

Arrived and the sheets on the bed had either blood or urine spots. I kept flecking black spots on the bed the room was nonsmoking but you literally smell the smoke. Our phone in the room (108) didn’t work. The couple above apparently had a kid that was running. Sounds like he was coming through the ceiling. Two hours no good rest.

This was a great choice, nice and cozy. The staff was amazing, warm and welcoming, gave us the best recommendations on local food spots. It was cold 27° but it didn't matter with the "indoor" heated pool. Seriously, we enjoyed every minute of our stay at "Candlewood Suites" definitely would recommend staying at this location.

This hotel was great! Clean and spacious for what you need it for, sleep n relax! The staff were so nice and accommodating! Only thing is it is on the highway so no matter what it will be noisy get you earplugs, lol I did and couldn’t hear anything.

We had a great stay. We were in town for my son’s Army graduation and this place was perfect. Close to Lackland, easy drive to the airport, easy to get to the Riverwalk, and lots of things to do near by. Staff was excellent and I liked that they texted me to see how everything was going. I even spent a few hours outside on the covered patio outside as the weather was so nice. Thank you for a great stay.

I chose this hotel since it was close to Lackland AFB. Hotel and room were clean, bedding was comfortable, staff was friendly and professional! Highly recommend.

Everything was great but the restaurant referral first night. It was awful!

This property was not what I was expecting at all. The building is very very dirty inside and out. The bathroom had a broken drawer and a hook that was ripped off the wall and not replaced. Also no room service so if you need clean towels etc you had to go to the front desk and get them yourself this is not what I was looking for especially for what I paid a night. We paid $707 for 4 nights and got a dirty building, no breakfast and no room service. We’ll never ever stay at a Candlewood suites again.

The rooms were a good size and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only real negative was a terrible smell on the elevator. Other than that I would definitely stay here again.
