First of all, we travel a lot, and I would normally never choose what I think of as a traditional motel. I was BEYOND pleasantly surprised from the moment we arrived. There was nothing dated or “motel-like” about it! It felt fresh, modern, and far more upscale than the price point. Our in-laws, who live in Roanoke, convinced us to give it a try while we were in town waiting for our daughter to have our first grandchild. We wanted something close to both the hospital and our daughter’s home that wouldn’t break the bank. We typically stay downtown and enjoy all the amenities, but we didn’t want to deal with parking garages or valet parking. After staying at Colony House for a week, we can honestly say we would absolutely stay here again! The staff was INCREDIBLY friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious, with fun décor, blackout curtains, a smart TV, and what felt like a brand-new bathroom. The shower was fantastic! Since our grandson decided to arrive later than expected, we had to keep extending our stay. The process was easy every time, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. We loved being able to pull right up to our room, and the value was outstanding. It was exactly what we needed and exceeded our expectations in every way. We travel to Roanoke about once a month, and Colony House will definitely be our first choice from now on.

This is a wonderful place to stay close in to all of the places to see in Roanoke, VA. The staff was top-notch, the room was clean and fresh, the shower was strong and pleasant, and the bed was comfortable. The staff did everything right to make sure we had what we needed. Thank you so much!

Great refurbished motor court! We loved staying here and plan to stay every time we go to Roanoke. The paint smell in our room was strong. Maybe a fan would help.

This establishment was the best. The staff are extremely friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and resourceful. The grounds were immaculate and the room was extremely clean, very nicely decorated and had everything we needed. We would fully recommend staying at the Lodge and would stay there again.
