Excellent location near downtown Roanoke. Located in a residential area with lovely quiet streets for walking. Lovely home with recent renovations. Very comfortable room and private bath. Breakfasts are lovely with lots of fresh fruit and nice entrees. Our room was large enough to accommodate 2 yoga mats. Nothing, all good

The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bedroom had ample lighting. The closet was very nice and had plenty of hangers. The bathroom was very nice and everything was very clean. We were very pleased with the breakfast, which included yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs, and bacon. I enjoyed sitting outside. My only suggestion is to beautify the outside area. Perhaps add a bird feeder or place seasonal decorations around the outdoor area.

The bathroom outside the room was very nice, but a bit awkward, as we always had to ‘dress’ to use the bathroom since it was in a common area.

The property was beautiful and the accommodations were very comfortable. My only comment would be the accessibility. There are a lot of stairs, so patrons should be aware of that in advance. Also, the lighting in the bathroom was very dim. I loved the historic feel of the property. It was very clean, comfortable, and well decorated.

The owners are awesome. They went out of their way to make our weekend as good as possible. The room was beautiful, very clean, cozy, and comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at Black Lantern Inn. The home was beautiful and our room was extremely comfortable. Our hosts Cindy and Doug were so thoughtful, welcoming us, sharing recommendations for the area and ensuring we had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent (and thoughtfully accommodated dietary restrictions) and the bed extremely comfortable. We would happily stay here again!

We have stayed at the Black Lantern several times and stayed in all 3 of the rooms. All were very clean and comfortable. The new owner, Cindy, was very pleasant and the place was clean and the breakfast delicious. She has carried on where the past owners, Chris and Jayne left off. We will be back next year for sure! There's nothing we didn't like.

The owners were so friendly and welcoming. I was there for a run and the owners wife also happened to be a runner! She gave me great advice and insight as well as shared her excitement for me. They worked around my schedule to provide a wonderful treat after my run and also I had a delicious breakfast the next morning! Nothing

We loved our stay in the Black Lantern. The hosts were so helpful and friendly, breakfast perfect and the location was super. We only had one night there but would have loved to have stayed another. Can strongly recommend.
