Windsor California Copacabana

We were given the worst room with a view of a wall. The required paperwork that had to be filled out by each guest was ridiculous. The room was never cleaned daily, and had to continually request towels For the price we paid, I expected much better service.

Beautiful views of Copacabana beach. Excellent staff - friendly and sioee helpful. Secure environment. Delicious breakfast. Room was a bit smaller than expected. Mattress was too soft. The mattress has a heavy pillow top, so if you like a soft mattress, you will love it. For me, it was too soft.

Turn off there could have been a little more understanding about friends visiting in the lobby when they live in rio.And we're here in town.

Personnel is the best, always eager to help. Also, we had a midnight flight, check out at noon and they have available a hospitality room where you can shower or change clothes before going to the airport. The curtains of Rooms in lower floors facing the beach do not provide enough shade and there is a intense light.

Just about everything was absolutely fine.

Right across from the beach, close to restaurants and grocery stores. Super friendly staff. Mayra at the front desk was exceptional.

There was no kettle in the room though there was a coffee machine. The coffee was not free which was not a usual practice for a four star hotel.

You can sometimes hear people in the corridors when sleeping but it didn’t bother us too much

Room small. With a small window. Refrigerator running noisy. Curtain can’t block out side light.

Breakfast and location were fine. Staff wonderful. The BIG PROBLEM was lighting. It was hard to shave because it was hard to see with inadequate bathroom lights. Also reading lights were TERRIBLE as was the general room lighting. Plus, it would have been thoughtful to have a night light. But we were lucky to face the ocean and enjoy spectacular morning sunlight. LIGHTING!

Beautiful, clean! Nothing i did not like

The breakfast was nice. There is a strong chemical cleaning detergent odor in the lobby and through the hotel . The reception desk people are snobby and unwelcoming. The room was okay , considering that it was the most expensive one. Quite outdated and requires renovation.

We asked to check in at 2:00 instead of 4:00. We were told there would be a $40 fee to check in early even though the room was clean and available. With 8 out of 20 rooms unoccupied I would think checking in early would be a good will gesture and not cost the motel anything. Instead it soured my attitude. Plus when I wanted to use the hot tub it was out of order. On a positive note, the Camille restaurant attached was very good.

Breakfast was great, overall property had great amenities, the location was also excellent. Anything financial was a nightmare. First, they declined my card and told me they'd cancel my reservation (my card was fine). Then i had to email them 2x to pay which they did not respond to. I think called them several times after which they finally emailed me the link to pay. Then once it was paid 4 days later they double charges the entire $1200 reservation and i had to call them to reverse it since it was not authorized. Then during checkout they couldn't reverse the pre-authorization (which even though they promised to cancel is still pending a month later 3/27), during checkout it took trying several cards to get them to close things out. I was in Brazil 5 weeks and only had card issues here. For a 5 star hotel the communication and frustrating financial situation was so bad I'd never come here again.

Great location in the heart of Copacabana beach. Rooftop pool had a great view, breakfast selection was delicious with many choices. My room didn’t face the beach, but not a real problem.

Straight at Copacabana, everything you might need is in the vicinity. Rooms are great, big, clean, with everything you might need. Pool on the rooftop is great addition, with beautiful views over Copacabana. Staff is very professional and helpful, in all areas (reception, room service, cleaning, pool, etc.) Breakfast has variety, and is delicious, and room service food is also good. Would definelty consider staying here again. Nothing major, but it would be nice to have a light duvet, instead of some rough, thin cover on the bed, which was not comfortable at all to cover ourselves with. Also, our wardrabe was hard to open or close, with doors sometimes falling down. In general, room could do use a bit of maintenance, and light touch ups to elevate the experience.
