Copa Sul Hotel

The location was good, the room had everything I needed, the team was helpful. The room had a little sand on the floor and the bed sheets had stains.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had quality food and variety. The location perfect. One block from Copacabana beach and walkable to Ipanema The only thing I didn’t like was the beds were so hard. I could not have a comfortable night sleep. For some that might not be an issue.

The food disaster

Breakfast is good Air conditioner very old and doing noises and very loud sound. Needed to change room in the middle of the night and they needed to change the air conditioner twice and still only could sleep with earplugs. Asked to talk to manager and he hasn’t bothered to contact me Booked for months for having a good experience for my girlfriend visiting Brasil and priority and it looks they gave me the worse rooom. Very disappointing and staff in the evening specially the supervisor is very rude. Morning staff at reception better but they told me to fix and they haven’t fixed the situation and they haven’t even cleaned the room. Apartment run down and old needs maintenance Do not stay at this place unfortunately despite the great location.

Good location in Copacabana with easy access to metro station, buses lines and Ipanema. Big and confortable room recently refurbished. The price for NYE is s little overpriced but OK.

Location is definetly the reason to choose this hotel. It is located a block from copacabana beach, which was very convenient for new years eve. The facilities were old and dirty. There was a very unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom drains. Sheets and towels were stained and dirty, we found some hairs in the sheets, and the matress was very old and lumpy, and very stained. We asked the staff to clean the shower as it had layers of dirt on the glass panel, but found out they had not cleaned it when we came back to the hotel that evening. The AC is incredibly loud and was an issue for our sleep. There is no water kettle in the rooms, and the cutlery and glassware was generally not clean (very visible smudges). Breakfast was ok, but dissapointing as food in Brazil is very good. Overall, the cleanliness was very poor, would not recomend even if location is excelente. Besides, there are several hotel on the same street, and moving a couple of blocks away from the beach wouldn't be a big deal.

We wanted a place close to both Ipanema and Copacabana. This place was great for that. They have a special entrance for beachgoers to clean their feet from sand before entering the hotel which we thought was perfect. We were able to keep our luggage at the hotel after check out at no extra cost. The staff pointed us to a parking spot nearby which worked very well. It was mentioned in other reviews, but the Air Conditioning is seriously loud. Like a mini vacuum cleaner on all night. That made sleeping quite a challenge. The breakfast was just okay. Nothing special.
