Rio Design Copacabana Hotel

Location is the main reason for booking this hotel Staff is wonderful Breakfast average to good Shower n bathroom dirty full of someone else's hair. Sheets not clean. Towels not soft. Room phone was not working. I had to carry my luggage myself. No help on the stairs.

Rooms were too worn out

Great Location. The breakfast was disappointing there were very small portions and tiny cups, clearly to cut costs. Their card terminals didn’t work, and I had to look for an ATM in the middle of the night just to pay for my stay. The staff didn’t assist or care at all with this situation. The room was also dirty, there was no cleaning room service during my stay, and the shower drain didn’t work, causing the entire bathroom to flood. Overall, it was a very bad experience. If you’re reading this, I strongly recommend avoiding this place!!

The room provided is clean and each floor has its own theme. The cleaners tend to forget to put new towels.

Cheap and location are very good. Very dirty rooms with terrible bedding, the blackout isn´t good and the AC also very dirty, only would stay here for being cheap.

The smell in the room when the air conditioner is off. Also the elevators. There are only two and they are not synchronized

Close to the beach and to everything we wanted very nice people I think very nice city just have to be careful on taxis some over charge over all nice stay would do it again same place Really there was nothing we didn’t like

Good location and clean Pool and gym were closed . This was not told to me at time of booking . I booked a deluxe double room - expected a large room with two beds and was given a small room one bed - air conditioner was either off or too cold - toilet leaked consistently

The internet speed was suboptimal for doing a video call and there wasn't any option to purchase more speed.

This was a low budget motel; the room door didn’t lock; it was a roach and dated esthetics

The staff was helpful. The facility was terrible and filthy. Our room smelled like sewage the entire time due to an open, clogged hole in the bathroom floor filled with dirty water.

Noisy!!, old bathroom with huge leakage from the shower of the room upstairs. Windows are extremely old, not closing properly and very thin. Even though the description says soundproof, it is not at all. Impossible to sleep at night due to the heavy trafficed street and the very thin and nor closing properly windows. Rooms are not as shown in the pictures and is definitely not a 4 stars hotel as advertised. Looks like in brasil 4 stars is a regular 2 stars elsewhere.

Breakfast was edible, you get what you pay for. I normal eat lots fruits and yogurt so I was good. All in all not bad for the price. No body lotion, soap and shampoo only. Shower head needs upgrading. Towels were bit thin and hard but usuable. No expelair fan in bathroom or not working.

Really dirty

Deceiving pictures. Other than location nothing is good about this property. It’s more like a hostel than a hotel. Outdated, dirty and absolutely not worth the price. No cleanliness, bad rooms and above all it’s not at all worth the premium price being charged.

Reception staff were superb in every way. My room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very adequate. The location was very convenient. The lifts were efficient even when the hotel was busy. All in all, a very satisfactory stay. The AC in my first room was faulty and leaked water. However, the reception staff quickly found me better room. Although the breakfast was adequate, the cooks were unable to fry eggs properly!! Not a big problem but such an easy task!!

Cleanliness was the biggest issue. The room is old and poorly maintained. The bedsheets are too small for the bed and constantly come loose during the night, and there is no protective layer between the undersized sheet and the mattress, which is unhygienic. Overall, the accommodation did not meet expectations. The staff is really nice though.

AC and sink dirty.

Location was Perfect! Walking distance to the beach and various restaurants. Hotel need to be updated a bit more.

Location is great to access Copacabana and Ipanema. The room service was substandard. Of 5 nights, my room was cleaned 2 times regularily, 2 times after reminders (leaving sand and dirty towels on the floor), and 1 time not cleaned at all. There is no gratis water, no kettle, no coffee station. The bathroom products are little sachets and a block soap. The towels are rough. The breakfast is very carb and sugar heavy. The cappuccino function of the coffee machine didn't function. It seems like the hotel has seen its glory days in the 90s. As there is a huge variety of hotels along the Copacabana, there is also better value for money just around the corner.
