Decumano 23

The place is located right at the main street. It is surrounded by incredible restaurants and cafes and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. I absolutely loved the check-in experience; it was smooth and easy. The host provided coffee pods and the kitchen had all the essentials for cooking. I would definitely stay in this place again!

The host has a very uncomfortable check-in process. She started sending me messages the day before my reservation, insistently asking what time I would arrive. On the day of check-in, she pressured me to give her an exact arrival time. I was in Amalfi and had to take a ferry back to Naples. I couldn’t see my friends in order to arrive at 3:00 p.m. She told me that I had to be there at 3:00 or wait until 7:00 p.m. I arrived at 2:58, but she was busy and made me wait until around 3:30. Because of her check-in process, I couldn’t meet my friends. On the Booking page, it says check-in is from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m., but she requires you to confirm a specific time and starts pressuring you, which is very stressful for a traveler who’s never been to the city. The bubbles in the hot tub never worked. She also insists that we turn off all the lights when leaving or entering the room, which means you have to walk into the place in complete darkness.

Absolute best location. Amazing for people watching and being part of the great city. It’s not noisy in the slightest once the windows are closed.

The noise made it necessary to close the balcony at night, but when you do, you can hardly hear the party going on outside your room!

Good wifi, great location - everything is walking distance The host was quite a hostile lady, not friendly at all. The location cannot be faulted, walking distance to all major sites. Wifi worked well, but all else did not work properly. The kitchen is misleading, because there is nothing in it, no cups, no plates, no stove, no kitchen towel, no tea/coffee making facilities. If you buy the food outside, there are no plates where to put it (and obviously cannot cook anything). So the kitchen is not real. No washing machine either. No shower gels, no shampoo, very poorly equipped rooms. There are no numbers on the rooms and all doors look the same, to the point where the other guest tried to break into my room with his keys at 2 am in the night, just because he confused the doors. This is unacceptable. The whole flat is very dark at any time of the day, there are no windows in the communal areas, so it is dangerous to walk around in darkness even during the day, because the landlady demands you do not use the lights. She also says you cannot use the lights and aircon at the same time (what the hell?) because then all electricity trips up and the entire apartment ends up without electricity. For a few hours all flat had no electricity whatsoever because a guest used lights and aircon at once. And she has 5 rooms - how can all 5 guests not use the lights or aircon (in +35c heat) is a riddle to me. Quite gross. Would not recommend and would not stay again. My friends had an entire apartment next door for less money (50 Eur per night for two people vs my 70 Eur per night for one person) with a much more adequate landlord and proper fully equipped kitchen, so there are better prices & properties and hosts out there. Avoid.

Cleanliness I had a dreadful experience at this property. The host kept me waiting in the street for 45 minutes, despite my timely arrival and clear communication. She constantly asked about my arrival time, but when I got there, she stopped replying to my messages and gave misleading directions, leaving me wandering with a heavy bag. When she finally showed up, she falsely claimed we arrived at the same time and dismissed my concerns, implying I was lying about the wait. Her attitude was incredibly rude and condescending. She spoke over me, and when I tried to explain, she demanded I lower my voice and follow her rules, making me feel unwelcome and disrespected. Only when I mentioned contacting Booking did she reluctantly apologise. Avoid this place at all costs. The host is unprofessional and disrespectful, making for an utterly unpleasant stay.
