Drury Inn & Suites Houston Near the Galleria

The one & only thing that annoyed me was that it was hard to open & close the drapes... Also wish the gates would open up itself when getting out. Thank you.

The food was good for a hotel, and the dining area was clean. The woman at the front desk when we checked on Thursday at 4pm in was fantastic. I wish I could remember her name. She is a model of hospitality!

Check-in experience was quick and helpful. I did not know about the "Kick back" complimentary dinner snacks in the evening, and I found it a convenient and unique amenity. Room was very clean. I heard some squeaky noise coming from the bathroom but besides that everything was good. Most of other hotels in the area charge for self paring, but they charged no additional for it at Drury Inn. This was a great way to save money during my stay in Houston!

We liked that the property is clean, the room was clean and fresh, and the amenities are good as well. I think the breakfast was good, a little better than the usual hot breakfast, due to dietary contraints we wish they had a few more options like fresh fruit (watermelon, melon, pineapple, grapes) and maybe a slight variety of small danish pastries would go perfect with their hot breakfast.

Everyone was very nice and we got more than we expected. The hours for the pool. Lol maybe extended to12 midnight.

They offer both breakfast and a limited dinner buffet. You also receive three complimentary drinks for each adult. I didn't know they did this! We enjoyed our stay there and will always check for a Drury hotel when we travel.

I liked the location and the easy access to the highway in an area known for traffic jams. The breakfast was really good and the lady who was running it was obviously very happy being there. The overall hotel looks dated, but not in a bad way, just in that it is older, but there are none of the telltale signs like cheap upgrades or horrible caulk jobs. This hotel is well maintained. Lastly, it is usually obvious good a hotel when you interact with the front desk staff after checking in and everyone I spoke with during my two-night stay was incredibly pleasant and helpful.

I don't always write reviews but I would be remiss if I didn't in this instance. For starters, this was my 1st stay at this chain and it was chosen based on reviews and proximity to the event venue we were attending. The Customer Service was top tier! From the young lady who checked us in to the staff that kept the breakfast and dinner buffet staffed and the housekeeping staff. Check in was a breeze, the young lady at check in was so professional and very informative. It was a nice surprise to have dinner and 3 adult drinks per adult included in the stay! There wasnt anything spectacular about the appearance of the facility, it was adequate. I had a king suite that was spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, televisions in both rooms, ample storage space, and I loved that toilet and shower was seperate from sink. The water was hot and water pressue consistent. The large shower head made for a wonderful way to wash off the day. I didnt use the pool or the hot tub but the area was nice and the pool was partially covered, the hot tub completely covered. The property exterior seemed safe, was well maintained, and parking was ample. All in all, I would hands down stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. Customer service is very important to me and my family and the staff here got it right, every time. The staff here made a pleasant stay, exceptional!

The hotel’s location worked well for our needs, and the property itself was clean with very friendly staff. Our room was clean, although it felt a bit dated. The hotel also offers both breakfast and dinner, which was convenient. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is that our room was directly above the entrance, so we could hear noise from cars and people talking outside. In addition, despite being on the second floor, the room overlooked the open lobby area where meals were served, so there was constant noise from people talking and chairs being moved around.

Viviana at the Front Desk was so gracious and so helpful… We lost power in our home, we went to the hotel had to come back the next night, and she remembered us and was just so compliment and a beautiful spirit, the pillows were comfortable, the sheets were great. The mattress was very comfy. I like to know the mattress brand I forgot to check great experience during a blackout.

Our room was on the first floor. There was a very narrow window and it was pretty dark. Right outside was a parking. Someone parked a car could see inside of our room. We should have choosen upper floors. The facility was a bit dated, however the room was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening happy hour service was quite basic compared to other Drury Inn we've stayed before. They are hit or miss.

Breakfast was good. Hotel was clean, Staff were friendly. The downsides - people were watching basketball game past 10:30pm on a weekday and were yelling. Also the traffic noise outside is loud, both disturbing the night sleep.

I rarely write reviews, but this hotel was a very nice surprise for our stay in Houston for the U of H graduation. Perfectly located, budget-friendly, great amenities (happy hour with free drinks & free food), excellent free breakfast, super friendly staff and an immaculate pool and jacuzzi. The parking is secure, safe, and FREE as well. We will definitely be back.

First came in the doors, avianna was working. And she was amazing from the get go. Very helpful. It was my daughter's birthday.And she accommodated her. The next day on the ninth for day shift, we went to panda fest.And the staff put my daughter's birthday cake up in the room for us, even though they were busy.And I really appreciate that as well.We will definitely be coming back and staying. Everything was amazing. The only thing that I did not like was the pillows were so soft and the jacuzzi.Although, very relaxing could have just been a little bit hotter

Property is clean and secure. Front desk staff friendly and gave excellent service. Enjoyed a wonderful free breakfast that was really top notch. Room (king suite) was beautifully clean and nicely appointed. Chip-type room key cards worked infinitely better than card-scan types used at other hotels. A couple of the wall-mounted lights had what I think were fluorescent bulbs near the end of their service life — they buzzed when on, so we used the table lamps instead. Also, the bathroom sink drained very slowly, which I think could have been fixed by judicious use of lye-based bathroom drain cleaner.

The location was nice. They always have such a good breakfast. I like the secure parking, that was really a nice extra park that I didn’t realize. Our room smell like smoke. Immediately reported it so there wasn’t an issue with being charged a cleaning. The room was a little rundown and I think the hotel may need a little upgrade. The carpeting was a little gross. It wasn’t as nice as the other Drury’s that I have stayed at. We were in town for a cheerleading competition and they allowed the girls to be so loud in the lobby very late at night and our hotel room faced it. That was super disappointing that there wasn’t more controls in place.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was disappointed. The service was slow and unhelpful, and the amenities did not match what was advertised. Overall, it did not meet my expectations, and I would not recommend it.

When I checked out, my invoice was for 499 USD! And the ‘deposit’ was not integrated at all in the final amount of the invoice.? Even if they would reimburse me tomorrow the 49 USD, they still overcharged me 51 USD!!

Excellent value for the price. Consider the fact that each day comes with two meals you wouldn't have to eat out! I would pay 20-30 more than other hotels and still consider this worth it. The staff are friendly than most places I've stayed.

The breakfast was typical for “includes breakfast” type buffets that one would find at any moderately priced hotel. The dining area was very clean. In short, this is a very comfortable, clean hotel, and a very good value.

One night there were a lot of kids in the pool, a bunch of middle school boys and my small kids. The kids were playing and of course were making noises. A staff came down to tell us to keep our kids quiet or another customer will call the police? She didn’t even stay there and observe if my kids were really that noisy. A couple told her that it weren't my kids that are making loud noises, it were the big kids, but she did not bother talking to the parents of those kids. But even though they are making loud noises, kids didn’t go to the pool to keep quiet.

Rooms on road side have a lot noises and you can not sleep well and when we go for checking reservations gave us a room on road side with a lot noise, so we requested for quiet rooms but he didn’t corporate with us

We have stayed at many Drury Inns. They clearly have no priority in the Houston area. There are many beautiful Drury Inns and Plazas and none outside of Houston and Dallas areas in the huge state of Texas.

Staff was nice and welcoming. Unfortunately we got put in a room on the first floor set apart from the rest of the guest rooms. We were right next to meeting rooms, elevators and the lobby. To say it was loud was an understatement. I would recommend not staying in room 106 while there. The bathtub also doesn't drain, we did disclose this with staff.

The young lady at the front desk, Jackie, was so polite and so accommodating to us and others. She was efficient, personable and smiled all the time. I’d come back to stay just for her!

My only issue was that I thought that when I booked it was supposed to be cheaper than what I paid but I need to look into that in my end. That and the bar was only open from:30 to 7pm and that was what time our show was so we weren't able to enjoy that part. We had to leave at 5 pm and didn't get back until 7:15 so no drinks for us and barely caught the dinner in time. The staff was really nice though.

Service was great. They took care of me promptly without any issues. Room and bathroom were very clean. The galleria is no more than a 10 minute drive which made it convenient. The breakfast buffet was great, it had plenty of options. And at night they gave us a voucher for free drinks and snacks. It was a great surprise. I would definitely come stay there again.

Room was a little loud with traffic noise, but it was clean. Appreciated Leslie in housekeeping and the free breakfast/drinks.

I normally don’t write reviews, but this hotel is heavily INFESTED with ROACHES. We found 4 during our stay, some on the ground, bed, and bathroom. The bed had HAIR along with the towels. In addition, we asked for clean towels and they had STAINS including residue that looked as if they were NOT washed. DO NOT come here.

Clerk that checked me in and out was great! Waffles at breakfast were soggy and my raisin toast disappeared. Biscuits surprisingly good but barely held together. Sausage was pale gray instead of brown. All in all very good and I will stay here again.

The breakfast was great and the 5:30 kickback was really a wonderful treat as well. This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The kids loved the pool and the hot tub was nice as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Both beds were not properly made. Trash was not removed from the room. Carpets were not vacuumed. The air conditioning unit appeared outdated and produced excessive noise. Overall, these issues significantly impacted the quality of my stay. I kindly ask that you review these matters to ensure better service for future guests.

Front desk staff was amazing! I was able to check in prior to my arrival. Pool was clean with lots of towels available. Breakfast was the same each day the evening had different variety and the staff kept the area was clean, stocked and staff was very helpful hotel was clean inside and out. Building required key card to get in to hotel unless you came in from main door. Some may not like this, it didn’t bother me as I was with my family and safety is always a priority.. Love staying at Drury when possible.

Hot tub water look like it needed to change

Staff were amazing and so were the facilities. AC is room was potentially a little dirty. One of the lights in the room made a humming noise but overall great experience and would come back.

The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfast and 5:30 kickback kept us out of the Houston traffic which made our entire trip very smooth!

Last night the person who checked us in last Mr. Reyes was wonderful and helpful. He moved us to a closer room. With my handicap it was kind of me.

staying here was the best decision I made for my family and I! they served breakfast, they served popcorn for a “snack” at 4pm, then they served dinner that was also included and you got 3 alcohol drinks of course 21+. it was great!

This hotel did not disappoint! The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. The location very safe and close to target and a few restaurants as well as the mall. I have never been to a hotel that had breakfast, dinner and 3 drinks daily included! And for a very good price! The bathroom was a bit dated but very clean and functional! This is my first time back in the US after 10 years and I was warmly welcomed!

The concierge was so friendly. The room is very nice and comfortable. I wish the pillows were a little more firm. I like that it was free parking and they had a free happy hour and free breakfast. Where most hotels nickel and dime you, the Drury includes them with your room. Will definitely come back. The location is great as well.

The hotel was nice but dated. We stayed on the 5th floor North side of the hotel. The car noise from Loop 610 was horrendous at night!

This is an older hotel but very clean with great beds. I didn’t take advantage of their evening dinner but wow! You could feed a family there. I really appreciated that I didn’t have to pay $35 for parking!

Drove in to this well secured property after 10 hours of driving to feeling welcomed by a polite and extremely helpful while multitasking front desk staff. Kudos to you!!! Oh and quite entertaining was the robot parking lot security rover. The breakfast and afternoon snacks are great for those traveling on a budget, even if not on a budget the perk of (if you consume alcohol) 3 free adult beverages along with the food is well put together.

This is a great property in close proximity to everything.

Property is not as per Drury standards, Stinks, Bath tub not clean, water stoppages, limited dining options & sitting capacity.. Would not stay against this property!!

The hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating. The hotel was clean and family friendly. The kids enjoyed the snacks available and the adults enjoyed the happy hour. Will definitely be staying at the Drury inn for our future trips.

For an older property, you can tell alot of love is being put into it. Check in was fast, Ms. Cheryl and the other staff members were cheerful and helpful. Not only do they offer breakfast, they have nightly "kick backs" where each guest is allowed 3 drinks (with a wide variety to choose from) and they have dinner here offered as well! Avianna (the bartender) had a big personality and made the best drinks. The property also felt extremely safe. You can only park if you have a room card and leaving is the same way. They have a little patrol robot (it looks like a robot lol) that also circles the property. The pool and hot tub were just lovely and the gentleman who cleans the pool area, did a phenomenal job cleaning it before opening. The rooms were quiet, beds clean, ac cool and bathrooms sterlized. I will definitely be booking again in the future. I see why they have such a high rating. Book here!!

We have stayed at this property multiple times and always have a nice stay. The key card required parking and security robot help provide a safe stay. It is an older hotel, but it is well maintained. The staff is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable. The indoor/outdoor pool is great for unpredictable Texas weather. The gym is small but adequate. The free breakfast, dinner, drinks, and popcorn are what seal the deal. The food is basic but plentiful. There are some days when you just don’t feel like (or can afford to) eat out again, especially if you are there for medical reasons. We have 4 more stays lined up and see no reason to stay anywhere else.

The breakfast at 8 o’clock was packed no place to sit. There was plenty of food. The servers were not very nice, I was waiting in line to get my toast out of the toaster and one had come behind me and kept saying excuse me in a not so friendly tone, I wasn’t sure what she wanted or who she was but after she went by and grabbed a tray in front of me and took it to the kitchen I realized she was working for the property. That wasn’t too nice. The check out was straight forward. Expedia lists this as an exceptional facility, I think average is a more fair assessment. There is construction on the lot next door and the associated noise.

I’ve never had such a hard time getting in or out of hotel because of being right on 610 highway in Houston

The property was very well maintained in terms of cleanliness. It is obvious that it is a little older of a property, but the place was very clean. The staff at both check in and check out was very friendly. The hotel, however was a little loud. The walls are clearly pretty thin and not very soundproof, and it was a little loud because of that. We could hear other guests and smell popcorn being cooked in another room. The air conditioning in the room we were assigned was also very loud when it came on and would rattle at a very high pitch for about three minutes every hour, which was very inconvenient at night when it woke up our child. Unfortunately, the lot next to the hotel is currently being demolished for future building, and though it was only during daytime hours, the jackhammer and bulldozers and excavators were also very loud. My husband and son went to the breakfast and said that the food was adequate and what is to be expected of a typical, included-in-pricing breakfast at a hotel. We did not visit the pool. We did request two additional pillows of the housekeeping staff upon our arrival, and when we return to our room that night, they were there for us. There were also two pillows included in the closet for the sofa bed that our child needed to use, which is nice because most hotels only include one. Common areas, like hallways and elevator, earth uncomfortably hot, but our room cooled nicely. Overall, I’m not sure we would return because of the interior noise.

good stay, convenient location

We've always enjoyed staying at the Durry. We usually go to thevone in Downtown San Antonio on the riverwalk.

The property was clean and the staff was kind. The front desk staff was welcoming and accommodating. The rooms desperately need an update. The carpet held a smell similar to urine and the wallpaper was dingy. I found a brown paper bag behind the night stand and several strands of hair in the shower. I cleaned a bit myself to make my stay comfortable. The breakfast was nice, and I appreciated the secured parking. Perhaps the funds spent on the parking lot robot could be allocated to an interior makeover. Overall, not too shabby for a one night stay. Would not recommend for an extended stay.

Only glitch, housekeeping came in every other day. That's ok, but I had two blankets on the bed. Once they were folded and second time they just threw them back on the bed, all scrunched up. Definitely not a showstopper.

It was okay. There were some things left in the room by the previous tenant that somehow weren't found by housekeeping. The woman behind the drink/bar counter at dinner time was quite rude. Other staff members were friendly.

When we got there, we realized that Hotels.com made a mistake and booked us for a one-room king bed with a pullout sofa bed when we booked a two-room suite. We went down to the front desk to remedy the situation only to find that they had sold out of rooms due to the Beyoncé concert and a sporting event, so we couldn’t be switched to the room we booked. Avianna at the front desk was very apologetic and offered a partial refund since the room we booked was a higher price than the room we had to stay in. I considered the matter resolved at that point, but she made a point the next day to move us to the room we initially booked if we still wanted it. We declined the offer but appreciate the gesture. Avianna’s customer service is what turned the visit from a 3-star to a 5-star visit. Thank you for making the experience as pleasant as possible, Avianna. Reasons to book 1. It’s an older hotel, but it’s clean 2. All of the staff are very friendly 3. It’s close to the Galleria Mall and has easy freeway access 4. They have security that monitors the parking lot, and you have to have a key card to get in and out of the parking lot. I felt safe. 5. They offer free breakfast, a 5p meal, and alcoholic beverages if you are on a budget.

Pool area was dirty

The kickback is nice. You can drink three glasses of alcohol a day, I love this.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The AC worked flawlessly. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best we’ve had (so many options). The gated parking was a nice touch. Great stay and will definitely use again.
