Courtyard by Marriott Houston by the Galleria

parking was supposed to be $25 but i was charged $50 when i arrived. i asked the front desk lady why i was charged and she tells me its $25 per night. i told her i was only staying one night. she said "oh it's for security" so two completely different things. then hours later i was charged an additional $30 on top of the $50. i go back to the front and i ask a different person about the issue. he says it is $25 but they always tack on an extra $50 "for security" would have been nice to know this upon arrival. i was told i would receive the extra $50 back within 2-3 business days. so i'm hoping that is true.

When the room was reserve I had no idea a parking charge was charge atb the end of my checkout. Can it please be notified to whom it reserves a room.

The staff at this hotel were by far the friendliest and most professional staff I have encountered at a hotel. The maintenance and housekeeping staff were also incredibly courteous and helpful. Overall it was an outstanding facility and experience.

Nice hotel for the price. Best part is that it is very close to the galleria mall. Walking distance is about 5-10 mins. The hot water gets very hot which is a good thing. The toilet had a very slow and weak flush. The pillows were very deflated and flat. Really close to the conservatory which is a nice place to chill and grab a bite to eat from a variety of food restaurants, definitely check that out, and the galleria mall. Really good bang for your buck. But If you are looking for a more luxury stay pay a bite more and check nearby.

It was pretty old. I asked for towels after they did not service my room. I had to keep asking 4times till finally called at 6pm and got towels. Room was never serviced

This is my 2nd stay here, and it's a great hotel. Nice, comfortable, clean rooms. It's right next to the huge Galleria Mall for excellent shopping and eating, and easy to get around the city using rideshare.

The only amenities we used outside of our room were parking and the pool. The pool while obviously older seemed well kept and was in a nice quite area of the hotel. The parking garage can be stressful when packed and cars are coming back and forth but that's not on the hotel, that's just on people driving 60 in a parking garage. Overall the room was PERFECT. It was clean, the AC worked perfect, we had a great view, the shower (water pressure was nice), and the beds were a nice firmness. Also everyone who was on staff during our stay was AWESOME and so flipping helpful

Room was ok. Plenty of space. Bathroom grout was dirty, otherwise room was ok. This hotel had a strong perfume sprayed in the lobby areas that gave me a headache.

I wasn't told that you had to pay for breakfast. It's 2025 and I feel that breakfast should be complimentary. And it took almost 5 days to receive my partial refund. No complimentary breakfast

Windows were very dirty with fungus, no body cream or hair dryer in the room, when I tried to contact the lobby from the room, it never rang.

The location is great✅ The front desk staff was not very welcoming or friendly. There wasn’t even complimentary water or tissues in our room and it had an unpleasant smell in the room.

Did not stay at this hotel!!!! Had to book another hotel last minute because of the elevators not working. We recieved an email that the elevators didn't work and they encouraged us to cancel the hotel and they will send us the funds back for booking.

After unexpectedly having my children for the weekend the hotel was able to easily switch my rooms. I was so appreciative as it allowed me the ability to rest a bit before getting back on the road. The elevators need an upgrade. The staff did a PHENOMENAL job of accommodating our needs within the time of the elevator outages.

Follow-up from my previous review of 1. I spoke with a supervisor and they told me that the shower situation was completely unacceptable and took some very generous measures to rectify the situation. They also followed up with a phone call and asked me if there was anything else they could do. I truly appreciated the gesture.

This was my first stay at the property while visiting Houston. I normally stay at Hotel Derek but this has become my new favorite place. The staff was very professional and friendly and didn’t hesitate assisting when asked. My children and I really enjoyed our stay. Even though it was only one night, we look forward to our next time there.

Everything is nice here and i was thinking bout coming back on my next stay but i get back to my room and all my medication from the dentist is gone. Im very upset because i asked for no service since i been here and came back to a clean room and all my medication is gone. Im very hurt by not having my medicine im in so much pain. Looks like to me no one at front desk cares..very nice and peaceful. Just needed my medicine and its gone

The property isn’t worth the price and needs a remodel or a really good clean. The carpets were filthy. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling and there was water ring stains on the nightstands. The house cleaners could do a more thorough job overall. There was also either a kids sporting event or family reunion there the weekend we were there, there were kids everywhere running up and down the halls and playing in the elevators all weekend. The front desk staff didn’t say a word. Will never stay here again.

Wait for 1 hour and 45 minutes on the lobby to finally get my room I wasn’t the only one with the same issue!! They need to wok Berger in logistic and gave real customer service to the guest !!! I drove for 4 hours and it’s not fair for us to wait for a room when the hotel took my money right away !!

Property is a little dated and parking is somewhat expensive, but a decent place to stay, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Location was our main consideration for picking this hotel.

When I brought these issues to the front desk, we were offered a move to a sister property. Unfortunately, it was late in the evening, and relocating wasn’t practical. The following day, housekeeping didn’t improve the situation much. This experience was far below the standard I’ve come to expect from the Marriott brand. I hope management addresses these issues seriously.

I originally was booked across the street and wasn’t happy with their service and came over to stay at the Courtyard and from the time I walked in to my stay, was great!

Hotel is in dire need of a deep cleaning / renovation. Area is excellent, and staff were okay, but would not stay again.

This hotel was run very professionally from the reception at the front desk, to the Bistro servers, and the room cleaning staff. On site garage parking was convenient and secure with access only by using the room key to operate the entry barrier. Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable.

Hotel was nice great location room nice and clean. Only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is the hallway carpet in the hallways needed shampooing.

The staff were all warm and welcoming. The facility itself is a bit outdated and in need of update. Lighting was dim, items in room were worn or broken, and amenities weren't the best.

Property in poor condition. Cleanliness is awful, it smells like cigarettes and old building throughout the hotel, especially in the rooms. Curtains have holes in it, the carpet is ancient, dirty and torn

Was a wonderful place, for my daughter’s bday they gave us a nice room with a great view!

The pull out couch mattress looked dirty and unkept with some stains. I had to look for the sheets to put on and they didn’t fit properly. Worked for our daughter but she was hesitant sleeping on it. A lot of water dripped in the floor when showering and shower itself was poorly maintained. My kids were excited to use the pool. Unfortunately, when we went to use it the temperature of the pool was FREEZING Cold! I called front desk and asked if they could heat it up & was told it was having to be repaired. It was fine for one night but I would have preferred a different hotel after this stay.

I would stay again but I would phone the hotel directly to get the temperature of the pool. It was 72 degrees when it is usually 82 degrees. Excellent staff: courteous, efficient, quick response time. The room was clean and a good size. It was handy to have The Bistro where you can order several food items: quesadillas were good. It is pick-up only, no room service. Biggest disappointment was that the pool heater was broken since I specifically chose this hôtel for the indoor heated pool.

Not to be ‘that’ guy, but there’s no media guide on the tv system. You gotta cycle thru every channel to figure out what’s on.

Breakfast is from a Starbucks inside the hotel but quite basic. The 2 oatmeal and 2 teas came to $30 and the oatmeal was not really hot.

I will not return to this hotel again. The only plus they have is location , but it was dirty and the rooms smell old. In the 3 days we were there the only day that our room was cleaned was the day we arrived. I have no idea what house keeping do there or maybe they only change towels, but our room was not made at all even though we always left at 9 am. Will not return
