Never good to greet your guests with furniture in the hallways from a room being remodeled.

The room was spacious with kitchen and dining area. Free hot breakfast was provided with plenty of food. The road of the covered parking lot was broken during my stay.

The breakfast was very good and the employees were very cordial and helpful. The room was outdated and the king size mattress was lumpy. Due to the poor mattress, my wife and I had a hard time getting comfortable.

Great location, you can literally walk from the hotel to Nordstrom to go into the Houston Galleria Mall, however the room had many drawbacks. The restroom door would not fully close, the heater did not work so the A/C kept blowing cold air despite being in the 30s/40s outside so we spent a terribly cold night, and the whole building stinks like cheap air fresheners trying to mask a funky smell. Would not recommend, the location is the only good part unfortunately.

The hotel was newly renovated. Lova how clean and comfortable everything is! Even the breakfast was simple but a lot of choices for american breakfast and would definitely stay there again! Oh and also walkable to the Galleria which is very convenient!

The desk person was dismissive with a monotone voice. He was willing to change the room to accommodate a disability. The room smelled of stale smoke and was musty. The room was very outdated, and the beds were NOT queen size but full size. I hope there were larger rooms in the hotel, however, our room was NOT. We canceled the days we could and checked into another hotel. Such a loss of money. The ad did not match the reality!

The hotel was good overall and served its purpose for the trip. The room was clean, the staff was polite, and the location was convenient. Check-in was smooth and the amenities were decent, although nothing really stood out as exceptional. There were a few small issues, like little chipped off pieces of the tub and slower service at times, but nothing that ruined the stay. Overall, it was a comfortable experience and I’d consider staying again if I needed a simple, reliable place to stay.

Clean room, recently refurbished, efficient front desk .. unexpectedly offered to store luggage after checkout, so we could explore the area on foot, but leave car in parking lot for an hour or so .. breakfast .. a good variety of offerings, plentiful, well cooked, and refreshed regularly.

There is nothing positive to say about this property outside the friendly staff. It is a really run-down property, and the first impression when you walk in is oh, why did I book this stay here.

Ray at the front desk was great - very helpful and nice at check in and checkout. Room was clean and well considered in design, but we were surprised that what the website advertised as a "suite" with a kitchen/living area separate from the sleeping area was actually one common room. Ray fixed that by moving us to another room that indeed had a separate bedroom with its own door. The furniture was clean but a bit worn - some pieces should be budgeted for touch up or re-upholstering soon. Overall an easy and pleasant experience.

The room was spacious. Bathroom was too small for two people. No paper cups around to take your coffee out. Night staff person was very efficient and helpful. We were only there a short time to sleep. Think it’s a good value for the money. Conveniently located with free parking, which in that area is certainly a perk!!!

The location for the property was excellent in my opinion. It was in a quiet neighborhood, but walkable distance to everything needed. The bathroom sink in our room (207) drained very slowly. It could be annoying. There also other maintenance going on during our stay as the main water had to be disconnected for most of the day Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Great location for shopping centre. Room was nice and big, very clean. Having breakfast included was good - I’d have preferred crockery & cutlery vs polystyrene and plastic.

I like the convenience of the hotel’s location. I was visiting Houston to attend a friend’s wedding and it was close to the venue. Unfortunately, I didn’t like the fact that I had to place a parking pass in my window to avoid being towed.

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at in a few years. We got a great room at a reasonable price. Staff was great and very helpful; had a great breakfast and free parking. We will definitely be staying here when we come back to Houston.

Very nice and spacious room Very noisy a/c, that kept waking me up in the middle of the night. My room was in front of the stairs and people kept slamming the door throughout the night. And not to mention I he fact that someone knocked on my door at 5:30am and at 5:40am, scaring the hell out of me. I didn’t answer the door, but couldn’t go back to sleep after that. In summary, I didn’t sleep well at all neither of the 2 nights I was there.

The staff were all very kind and attentive. Our ice maker didn’t work and the front desk staff supplied me with bags of ice. My family didn’t not get to enjoy the outdoor pool as we had a packed itinerary and one day was filled with thunderstorms. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There were different breakfast options which were satisfying. Lastly, the hotel is across the street from several restaurants and around the corner from the fabulous Simon Galleria mall-all in walking distance if necessary. I would recommend others to stay at this hotel and I would return as well. Thanks!

Enjoyed the breakfast that had the wide variety of hot and cold choices, the room was very clean and comfortable, the hallway carpets and everything in our room looked new, the front desk staff was very informative about the area and professional We paid an online rate that was excellent! Just a short walk to the Galleria where we went for meals and people watching! Wish there had been a hot tub.

I always stay here when I travel to Houston for work. I get a great per night rate. The rooms are spacious like a mini apartment. Free parking, and free breakfast are hard to find in the Galeria area.

There were roaches. We checked in & came back to a baby roach on the kitchen counters. The next day, we saw an adult roach on the walls in the hallway. There were spiders on the walls. We checked out early right after. The room was outdated. The shower faucet was so delicate. To turn on the shower, the little handle almost ripped off the faucet. The shower temperature only had steaming hot water, so my kids couldn't take a bath properly without yelling & screaming bc it was too hot. The only faucet that was safe to use for my kids was the bathroom sink that had both cold & hot wayer temperatures working. The kitchen sink was really hot too. The swimming pool was dirty. The only thing nice was the breakfast with its options. Never booking again. Its cheap for a reason. Get something pricer that'll be worth the bang for your buck

Firstly, the photos on Expedia and their website are NOTHING like the actual property. I had expectations of a clean, kept up hotel. It was the opposite. The first room I was assigned to had a missing tile piece in the kitchen, filthy air vents, scratches, and cracks and stains on the walls, and a backed up bathroom sink. The light in the kitchen was also partially dim. The room had a certain odor so i asked the front desk if they could send room service up to spray something. The receptionist gave me a spray bottle to do it myself. The room was so humid the bedsheets and the clothes I laid out on a chair felt moist. It was extremely uncomfortable, so I requested a new room, which I was given, luckily. It was slightly better in terms of the condition, but still extremely humid. Beware.

The check in was fast and easy. The hotel is out dated, but it was clean. The room we stayed in was noise. We could hear everything going on outside (people walking, talking, cars driving by,etc.) Also, the air conditioning unit inside the room was loud when it turned on and off.

We loved our stay!! We cooked and relaxed. The breakfast was good as well. Just a standard continental breakfast but the ladies kept it coming fresh and hot. The staff was super nice. The spoke to us every time we walked by!!

I understand there were reasons beyond their control as to why the water didnt work but they didnt offer anything to quell the situation.

Facility was clean and suited my needs. Common areas were well kept and looked recently redone. While the room furniture was good and updated with convenience power, the room itself was looking worn. There was wall damage and peeling paint where it has been painted way too many times, and the carpet was frayed at transitions.

The suites were spacious and clean. We will definitely book here again.

I was super impressed with this property. I had never stayed at one. It was so clean! It had a dishwasher sink, coffee maker, full-size refrigerator. The suite was absolutely perfect!

This hotel was awful. We got a refund right after check in. Very dated, holes in couch, linen was stained. I could go on and on.

Rooms ok,staff good, hotel old : room 109 hot water was very bad, elevator broken ( seen like nerver get fix) not handicap friendly.

The entire property smelled like marijuana and our room was 80 degrees when we got to it.

Only stayed one day and did not check put breakfast. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Wish it was more updated and painted. Paneling and fixtures in room detract alot. Elevator was not working and was a let down considering I had alot of luggage to haul.

I was pleasantly surprised by the clean and modern room. The only downside was that the elevator was out of order, which could be bothersome if you have a lot of luggage to transport to/from your room. I like the lobby coffee bar available until noon, and the breakfast choices were perfect to have a healthy start to my day. The area is safe for a solo female and it is practically beside The Galleria Mall if you go through the Nordstrom entrance. There is a bar across the street that plays loud music on weekends until 2 or 3 am but I personally didn't mind that. Great value and friendly staff.

Really great value for the price. Except for the size gym towels for the bathroom. This Sonesta Suites is a hidden gem for the price. Less than a block to the entrance of Nordstrom which leads into the galleria mall. We didn't eat the free breakfast but for the price this is in a great location within walking distance of places to eat.

The property and location were GREAT. Even the breakfast was passable. The after hours club across the street (but basically felt like they were at the foot of the bed) was a nightmare. I recommend asking for a room overlooking the pool, NOT on Hidalgo! Overall we would definitely stay again, just in a different spot in the hotel.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly, which I appreciated. However, the high-speed internet was unusable throughout my stay. The connection would drop after about 3 seconds and remained unreliable between 7 AM and 9 PM. When it did connect, the speed was only around 490 Kbps, compared to my phone’s 5G connection of 240 Mbps. Please consider improving the internet service to a satisfactory level, as reliable Wi-Fi is essential for guests.

The staff was rude. I entered for breakfast with my children at 8:46 pm and most food was depleted. When I asked the lady if there was more sausage available, she rudely stated no, breakfast ends at 9. Yet I saw her smile and greet people coming in after 9am. There was a couch with a cover in the room that looked like it was never washed(should have left then). I would not recommend anyone staying here. This place was worse than staying at a motel. I have stayed at other Sonesta hotels and never had this experience.

This hotel could really use some upgrades, the carpet was stained, and the walls were dirty and cracked. We could have overlooked those things, but what truly shocked us were the gunshots that woke us up around 5 a.m.

This hotel is wrongly rated as 3-stars and needs to be re-evaluated. The overall hotel is in a dilapidated state. The first room I was given (#317) had molding on the ceiling and by the windows. This room is a clear health hazard. I asked to be moved to another room and got (#314). The writing chair was broken, which was later replaced. The tank of the toilet was broken and leaning forward, and the handle of the flush was broken, making me lift the lid and readjust it every time. Despite putting in a complaint, it was not resolved during my two-night stay. The photos of the bathroom are inaccurate; they are not upgraded as shown and are missing the most basic of amenities for a 3-star hotel. Other inconveniences included loud noise from the AC unit all night, the AC unit is next to the writing desk blasting cold air making it uncomfortable to get any work done, no luggage rack, no towel racks (you could see the holes in the wall where they might have been), no bodywash in the dispenser that I realized in the morning during the shower, and I had to call and wait an hour for someone to bring some to my room. The overall condition of the room was in a sad state (peeling paint, uneven floor). The only saving grace is the location, but there are other hotels in the area, and I would not stay here again.

The room was convenient & clean, but very outdated & old. None of the plugs worked on both sides of the bed, so we couldn’t charge our phones while looking at them in bed. Also, the bathroom door awkwardly clashes with the toilet area and it makes it very cluttered & weird. One more thing they need to improve on: those awful polyester sheets! It's like sleeping on fiber glass! A real bummer!

I had a wonderful stay. My room was quiet, clean, comfortable, I felt safe, and the staff was very friendly. I walked to the Galleria and it was only about a 3 minute walk and I felt safe in the area. I would definitely stay here again.

Todo bien, solo que tuvimos la mala suerte de dejar un AirPod sin darnos cuenta y llamas para averiguar si está y dicen que no, aunque sale localizado en ese lugar, pero bueno no regreso es la primera vez que me sucede algo así, en cualquier otro lugar si se te queda algo siempre lo reportan y lo entregan , en fin a tener más cuidado para la próxima pero es muy molesto que digan que no están las cosas cuando están ubicables , lo bueno que existen mucho hoteles en esa área

Small sugar ants were present on the kitchen counter. Also saw a small spider in the bathroom. Everything else was very nice. Some wall repair needed.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! We were close to everything for shopping, food and fun! The hotel was nice and clean, room spacious and staff was amazing! Will definitely book here again!

The cable went out but other than that, I was pleased.

The bathroom door made a lot of noise so woke us up during night when one of us went to bathroom. TV in living area was missing but we did have a remote. Staff was friendly and nice

Everything was excellent except there was no hot water for bathing/showers the two times I tried. Other than that, the experience was very good.

The maid was the lazier ever we left for her to clean returned two hours later nothing. i called down stairs requesting at least she clean the bathroom and bring fresh towels. We stayed 4 nights cleaned cleaned the day before we were to leave. i will never stay at any Sonesta. Please install a full sized toliet. There were no grab bars in the shower. The tub felt like it was going to cave in SERIOUSLY I AM REQUESTING A REFUND MY KNEES ARE THRIBBING FROM HAVING TO ALMOST SQUAT TO USE THE TOLIET. I GAVE YOU 1 OUT OF TEN.

This property is old and shabby. Big chunk of carpet missing in the room, corner of couch ripped up, peeling paint in the bathroom, big crack in the wall around the door frame. Lobby reeks of bug spray.

Room smelled stuffy and AC vent is loud. It woke me up every time the AC is on.

My rental was towed from the property. I believe they should have a better system for there towing contract. A list of cars and tags should be supplied to the towing company once you're checked in. $305 for towing on vacation is horrible.

I think some simple fixes would have made my stay better: smiling faces on staff, usb outlet in room, cleanliness of pool, pest control outside, some better landscaping, better breakfast items, cleanliness of patio area and front bench area... positives were great housekeepers (room refresh), good value for room and room amenities and location!

The hotel was conveniently located for our travel. However after long hours of driving & enjoyment at local museum,got to hotel to check in,that was smooth I guess! After I signed the required paperwork the front desk guy then tells me that not 1 tv on the property was working bc of storm. It rained however there was no storm(7/25/25). Another guest was standing n line & stated that was he wanted to know as he was already checked in & coming to find out when the tv’s would be back working. We were told not til the next morning, however we could utilize the wifi and watch tv from our mobile devices! Well off to our room,start the shower & notice the water was taking a very long time to get hot(never got hot) I went into kitchen area,ran the water there,same thing no hot water(room 405). I went downstairs to let front desk know what was going on and he did spring into action to accommodate me. He moved us to a different room(228). Once we were settled in the room,I checked the water as advised,there was hot water. However in the kitchen area crawling on the wall was a roach.

This hotel is a great choice in the mid-price range. Free and easy parking, comfortable and quiet rooms, efficient staff and good breakfast buffet. Onsite gym is small but serviceable. Recommended.

Comfy bed, great pillows. Breakfast with lots of choices. I've stayed here 3 times in last 2 months. In the rooms with bedroom AND living room, seems like 1 TV is often not working. I can live with that.

Great location with walkable access to Galleria mall, restaurants, and more. The pictures do not adequately depict the room which was pretty small and dated. Breakfast was decent as it provided typical continental meal options. Service was great and staff were welcoming.

A bit run down. Chairs obviously peeling, doors peeling paint/ coming apart, areas of carpet extremely frayed, 2” burn in drapery, sofa bed full of crumbs under cushion, very uncomfortable. An air mattress would’ve been better. Tub drain plug didn’t work

Due to the shortness of my stay, the check-in host accommodated my breakfast request to allow access prior to the posted hours. This exception was readily communicated to the morning check out clerk. While not having full access to the breakfast buffet I was able to take fruits, yogurt & add-ins, muffin / bagel, juices & coffee. The location was nicely located to walkable restaurants and shops and fairly easy access to freeways. Rooms amenities were clean and eclectic. The patio overlooking the pool needed some paint but otherwise was well maintained. Pleasantly surprised on all levels.

One of the more affordable properties in the Galleria area. Clean and comfortable, with a nice breakfast.

The property and rooms are a bit dated. The hotel smelled nice, but the room had this constant smell of humidity. It was super close to the Galleria Mall and walking distance to the waterwall.

Excellent and clean hotel. We got a suite, which was super convenient as it came with a fridge, sink, and stove. Comfortable and clean rooms and quick walk to everywhere in the galleria. Free parking and amazing breakfast!

First off the front desk greeted me and got me checked in with ease. Was happy with parking and not having to pay extra

My stay was fine, not really great or really bad. I didn't love the $100 deposit they charged on my card, but the area was nice & safe, and having a couple restaurants across the street was appreciated. I was glad they offered free onsite parking, because so many hotels don't nowadays. The breakfast was pretty decent too; it was nice to get a buffet instead of a plain continental. Also, the setup of the room was done well, there was no wasted space, though some of the furnishings were a tad older.

Besides that, it has a buffet, that ends at 9am, a little bit early. and the parking is free, and you can walk to the galleria mall.

Check in was quick and easy, with a professional staff member. There was a $100 deposit for incidentals. The suite was spacious, a bit dated, but clean. It was incredibly convenient to have the Galleria Mall within walking distance (5 mins.). Our stay was affordable and enjoyable!

Catfished by a hotel. Ratings must be fake. Mildew smell on entire floor. Slant in room so bad, door wouldnt lock properly and can see daylight below. Severe water damage stains on ceiling in room. No hot water in shower. Room phone disconnected and wires everywhere. No ice machine. Dont typically put in reviews but this was one of the worst misrepresentations of a hotel ive seen.

The only issues were the furniture and parts of the buildings need a little bit of a refresh. Also the hot water was not consistently hot for the shower. Overall a decent facility for families.

The property is well maintained. Beds are moved and comfortable. This hotel has been our preference each visit to Houston.

My only complaint is that the AC that kicks on and off all night somehow wakes me up. This doesn’t happen at other hotels for me. I will however still stay at this hotel because everything else is great.

I absolutely love staying at this hotel when I visit family in Houston. I feel safe staying there. The staff is always friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Houston, plus it's so close to the Galleria.

Convient and close to shopping

This was a very nice family friendly hotel. Fantastic hot breakfast that had waffles, sausage, eggs, and potatoes. They had an amazing coffee bar with creamer options. There was a very nice pool with towels so no need to bring your room towels. Plenty of parking. Nothing bad to say about this place.
