About South Pier Inn
Situated between Lake Superior and Duluth Harbor Basin, this waterfront hotel is nestled at the foot of the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge. Free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV are provided in every guest room. All waterfront suites at South Pier Inn have private balconies, which provide the opportunity for our guests to look eye-to-eye with ships captains, as international vessels enter the harbor under the Aerial Lift Bridge. A refrigerator and tea and coffee-making amenities are also provided in each room. Guests can enjoy a walk or enjoy a sunset from the private 400 foot shoreline path at South Pier Inn. A complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning. Duluth Entertainment Convention Center, located across the harbor, is less than one mile away. Duluth city center, Great Lakes Aquarium and Bayfront Festival Park are a 5 minute drive from this hotel.

My room was very clean and well appointed. Nothing broken or damaged which I have seen in most other rentals. I stayed for 3 nights and had only brief interaction with desk staff. I would stay here again.

quiet- nice daylighting- friendly atmosphere- lovely private yard area and front seating outside. Access to Canal park and downtown by foot--walkability!! TV didnt work well but that was ok!

Beautiful place to stay, especially if you’re in town to see a ship come in! Short walking distance to the piers around the canal, but you certainly can see the ships from your room (I watched the Barker and was not disappointed!!) Very clean room, loved the whirlpool and the bed was sooo comfy. The gas fireplace was nice in the evening. Quiet neighbors (or good soundproofing!) Continental breakfast was quaint. Will stay here again next time I come up to see the ships!

The room was very lovely, clean and comfortable. The hotel was quite full when we stayed but it was very quiet! We enjoyed a wonderful walk around the property and across the lift bridge. The view from our room was amazing and the location couldn't have been better for ship viewing! We truly enjoyed our stay! Perhaps the bed could have been a little better. It was very soft and offered little support. I'm sure that's fine for some people I just like a firm bed to sleep on.

The view that’s about it The front desk lady at night wasn’t friendly at all. Too expensive. Not worth the price. We travel to Duluth so much and this was the only place available. We usually stay at pier B .

Location was prime as I was in town to watch ship traffic and get some good food. Lexi at the front desk was such a sweet girl and wonderful to chat with. If I come across another deal to stay here, I will.
