Reviews
Guests generally enjoy their stay at the hotel, appreciating the friendly staff, rooftop bar, and location. However, some have issues with the gratuity policy, noise levels, and parking. The unique decor and spacious rooms are also frequently mentioned as positives.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Unique decor and spacious rooms
- 20% gratuity added to all bills
- Noise levels, particularly from the rooftop bar and surrounding area

Unique, good location

The hotel has a ton of character. I was told (have not verified) that it was an old factory and its definitely not a mass built motel 6. Very unique place. The room was clean and minimalist. The view was amazing. My wife and I used the pool which had the best view of the city. Pool is a little small. Great place for couples. Loved that I did not see or hear a single child.
- 5/5
Every was just superb
- 4/5
The property and staff were absolutely amazing! I will definitely be back! My only downside is that it’s in an extremely noisy area and there’s a lot of windows for you to hear every bit of activity going on outside.

Great hotel with large rooms and comfortable beds. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere so having a car would be best. I'd stay again, I thought it was great value. Super friendly staff.
- 3/5
Cute boutique hotel. However, the bathroom was not cleaned properly. In the morning, housekeeping was literally banging on my door at exactly 11 o'clock, yelling at me that it was Check Out time. I was in the bathroom and the maid was jiggling the front doorknob! Will not stay here again just based on that. Ridiculous!!!!
- 5/5
Eclectic, clean, friendly staff, rooftop pool with great vibes and views!
- 5/5
Of course, the roof top.

Everything about it,is my favorite hotel. Of course, the roof top.
- 5/5
Loved it - great room and staff.

Amazing hotel
- 5/5
My stay was great. Staff was super helpful and kind. Food from the in-house restaurant was solid. Rooftop pool was very nice. Only bit of feedback is the pillows and bed were lumpy and could deter me from returning. Oh also, The Opening Bell Coffee across the street is perfect for coffee.
- 5/5
The only issue was the echo inside the room, but we weren't in the room enough to be bothered by it. Overall, a very nice place to stay!
- 3/5
I was on the 5th floor over the weekend.. 6th floor is open to public dj and drinks. Drinks pricey $20 for a margarita.. but what sucked no sleep until 2am! Once the music stopped 😭 valet is $39 each time you use it. Movie rental was $31 for a movie I did not rent. Working with them to straighten out. Also was charged twice for room service. The hotel its self was super nice.. just be aware of the above avg pricing & review your charges.
- 2/5
Our biggest issue was the whole pool deck with its endless pool parties open to the public. We had no idea we would be subject to endless loud music coming from the rooftop (we were on the 4th floor of a 6 floor building) It went on until 3am Monday morning! Also the steady stream of scantly clad non hotel guest folk constantly in the lobby of the hotel heading up to the pool parties on the rooftop
- 5/5
Everything it was right out side the city but yet had a perfect rooftop view of the city as well as from our room the pool was amazing with a great view! Perfect for couples!!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel loved the rooftop bar
- 5/5
Quick stay / comfortable bed
- 5/5
Great hotel to stay in! Clean, staff is friendly, there is a bar and breakfast!
- 5/5
Room and service was great. I do wish there was a hanger or something in bathroom to place the towel as well as a outlet in bathroom for blow dryer
- 5/5
Would stay again, maybe request a room toward west side (suite side) to limit traffic noise, but that was not to bad
- 5/5
The staff was amazing. The food was amazing. The rooftop bar was awesome.
- 5/5
Room was very clean
- 5/5
If you are here for work, they are extremely understanding and worked with me on getting checked in as well as checked out. The pool upstairs was slightly heated and it seemed there was a canvas style painting happening last night which I was a little too late to go to but it's okay. No hot tub or sauna. Perhaps a red light sauna could be installed quicker and more conveniently to us customers then a hot tub:-) Thank you overall, Canvas Hotel for being as Hospitable as y'all were. It certainly goes a long way and I look forward to my next day with you all :-)
- 5/5
The poolside was until a group of roudy youngish girls got there and decided to play their own music over the music played by the hotel outside. They were pretty ovnoxious and we almost talked to management but decided to just leave the pool. Wish someone would have come and asked them to be mindful of other guests. They ran off at least two other couple along with us.

Great rooftop pool and views!
- 2.5/5
We barely slept due to extremely loud banging through the halls and vent walls.
- 2/5
Expected a couples retreat… walked into a frat party… From the reviews, we thought this would a romantic, intimate experience. After booking and paying, we got a text message letting us know there was a pool party throughout the weekend that wasn’t previously advertised? but since we were guest, we had free entry? When we arrived originally, there was a city wide block party in the parking lot behind the hotel. We spent 45 minutes trying to park with the crowds and traffic to be told we had to valet. There was only one valet working… my husband ended up moving cones and parking himself, by the hardest. The fridge in our room made a clicking/knocking noise all night and kept me up, we eventually had to unplug it. Overall, it just wasn’t it for us, and we wish we would’ve stayed anywhere else.

The place is ok, but it is at the level of a NYLO or an Aloft, not a $250 a night place that also has the nerve to add on a resort fee (also called a maintenance fee or something like that, we heard 2 stories). The pool is nice if you like people 6” from you and blaring music, but the rooms were super noisy so expect to hear everyone going to and from their rooms, and your neighbors activities.
- 4/5
We loved the rooftop area. The pool was either very busy or closed. We were not able to use it. Comfortable bed and nice shower.
- 2/5
The rooms were clean, very well kept and everything in the room was just as pictured on their website. The staff were very welcoming and friendly when checking in. The housekeeping staff was very kind and helpful as well. Our big complaint was the pool situation/pool party that was going on. When we checked in we were very excited to be able to enjoy the pool as we saw beautiful pictures of it on their site. The front desk attendants did let us know that there was a pool party going on which explained the crowded parking lot. We had to pay 40 dollars for valet just to be able to check in due to how crowded it was. When we went up to the rooftop we were really disappointed to see that there was no room at all for us to even sit by the pool or enter it. The pool party they had was open to everyone and anyone so it was disappointing that we as guests couldn’t enjoy the amenities included with our rooms. It was a group of six of us, we booked three rooms and paid $200+ for each one for one night so this was not the kind of experience we were hoping for. I understand that hotels sometimes host parties like that but there should be an area that is reserved for actual guests of the hotel so that they could still get use of the amenities they are paying for. We ended up having to leave and return back to our rooms due to the overcrowding. This was just not something we expected, we did not have children with us but if you are a family traveling I would not recommend booking here.
- 5/5
Hotel was awesome. Cool rooms and super clean. Bar was very nice and staff fabulous.
- 1.5/5
Staff Unbelievable that they function as a hotel and an event space concurrently. We got kicked out of the pool for a public Pilates class ! There was a pool event the afternoon evening before which was totally inappropriate for a young kid even though they said we could use the pool- it was way too crowded.

Convenient location for the South Side Ballroom concert venue. Friendly staff, comfortable room, overall great stay.
- 2/5
The main complaint is that I reserved based upon the amenities that were NOT accessible. The pool and rooftop bar was closed for a private party. If I had known that, I would have stayed somewhere else. Don’t include an amenity that you are not going to honor.

The hotel is clean, the staff was friendly and effective. Cute eclectic place to stay with an awesome restaurant and rooftop pool bar. Highly recommend!

Canvas Hotel was an excellent stay for us! Check-in was quick and easy. There is a small resort fee and deposit required at that time also. Our room was very nice! We got the Lifestyle Suite w/ 2 queen beds. Room was cool, clean and great decor! The view of downtown at night, was pretty from our windows. The beds were sectioned off by curtains and elevated with a big step. There are 2 huge tvs in the room - one in the bed area and one in living room area. We did have a microwave and refrigerator. Your key card has to be used to turn on your lights in the room and for elevator access. There are 2 restaurants to eat at, that i knew of. We ate dinner at the rooftop pool restaurant, which was great and the downtown view is definitely a sight to see from it! Food was good and we only waited maybe 5 mins for our food. The next morning we went to eat breakfast at the restaurant in hotel lobby. Food was delicious and coffee was one of the best I've had at a hotel, but we did have to wait quite a bit for almost everything. There were maybe 2 tables the whole time we were in there. The Southside Ballroom is less than a half block away, so that saved us from dealing with parking at venue. Parking at the hotel is self parking during the week, in the parking lot next to hotel. Staff was helpful and friendly too. Overall, an excellent stay and would definitely stay again! 👏✨️🏆💎

And door placement is awkward. )Vibe and comfort of room is great however. Not sure if it was a typical weekend when we were there, but there were many outside party (not hotel guests) parties so the rooftop lounge was unavailable. Small things like simple room amenities were unavailable (bring your own plates and plastic ware etc, if you have your own snacks). No microwave in room. It was clean and decor is very fun. Room was quiet, from outside noises at least where we were located
- 5/5
Very helpful and great food too.
- 1/5
The hotel turns into a full on club on the weekend which prevented us from using the rooftop pool or being able to park at the hotel without having to spend $39 additionally each night to valet. The drink glass had a baby cockroach on it and they automatically add d gratuity to the bill and do not tell you so you end up double tipping the bar. The loud music keeps you up until 2:00 am and the blackout curtains do not exist so tons of light and noise all night.

The property was very chic but didn’t feel as welcoming. Was greeted quickly, wasnt asked to be assisted or needed anything. My phone in my room didn’t work so I couldn’t call down to speak to anyone. When I ordered coffee thru the QR code which was easy to do. I never received it. When I checked out I had to tell them I never received my coffee and it seemed like an inconvenience. Just minor things but still makes a difference in enjoying the hotel experience
- 5/5
Complained because the AC did not work very well. The hotel is very accommodating and gave me a room, Credit. I’ll be back.

Actually like the hotel. Aesthetically it’s beautiful. The bed is very comfortable..The double bed room was very spacious. I will definitely book it again. The pool was not heated tho as advertised.

This place is such a unique find! Super comfortable rooms, great food service, the pool area is so much fun. My only complain is I wish the shower had a door. It’s a BEAUTIFUL design but the open concept makes it cold.

The whole experience was nice. The theme was really dope. Walking in to a painting of Freddie Mercury made the visit special. Staff was really helpful and friendly. Great job!

Clean look, nice atmosphere, beautiful building, nice staff Only 2 carts to load clothes and suitcases to take to room, carts were not never available. Pool was not "heated", only 1 roll of TP, and 2 pairs of towels washcloths..have to call front desk for everything..ridiculous. what really pissed me off was not having more carts available for guests for clothes suitcases etc..

- 4/5
Everything was great. Lovely rooms , great drinks , beautiful pool perfect for those who love to tan. Will see a lot of proposals . The only thing I didn’t like was the parking ,very small parking lot . Theirs is to many valet parking spots with those dam cones.Which by the way you do have to pay a $20 for amities/parking so I don’t under stand why they don’t have another parking area for that . Also they share the parking lot with 2 other facilities. So just be aware that you might have to park and uber around because if you leave the parking lot. You might not have anywhere to park when coming back.

Great view of Dallas skyline from Suite

Great atmosphere, clean and spacious room. We’ll be back for sure!

Having a 1pm engagement party in the middle of prime swim time was really annoying. Than all these nasty kids who arent even part of the hotel start jumping in, in underwear and diapers. Totally not what i paid for but i got over it cause i have a wonderful wife. She was just as annoyed as well.

We ran into a couple of challenges which I'll list below: 1)When checking in... the valet told us the cost to valet and when I asked about other parking, he told us about the areas around the hotel but I noted they were already full. He didn't have any other recommendations. When I got in to the desk to check in, they had other parking options and gave us a pass to put on our dash. I felt the valet should have been aware of that. 2) When we got to our room, the TV wasn't working appropriately. The picture was very dim and purple. It was Super Bowl weekend and we were planning on watching from our room. When we brought the issue to attention of the staff, they said that most of their TVs were not working and were going to be replaced soon. I explained that would have been helpful to know when making our reservation. They did try to make it right by compensating us for the issue. 3) The area rug in our room was filthy. It may have been vacuumed, but it was dirty. 4) The last thing I will mention is the shower is unsafe. There is a bit of a slope and if you have soap on you, you could slip and fall. I will say that the staff we dealt with (with exception of valet) were exceptional! Very attentive and kind! Those that I recall their names were Erika, Juan, Gina! We are grateful for them! Although we had a few issues... the hotel is currently going thru renovations and it is a unique, beautiful place! I would encourage others to check it out!

We stay here a lot. We loved the new room, the only thing I would mention is our tv was a blue color. This is the only place we will stay in Dallas!
- 4/5
Other than that. The hotel it self is pretty unique, the food was prepared well also.
- 5/5
Parking lot being full and having to walk a decent distance to get inside the hotel.
- 3/5
The room was clean enough, but there were plenty of cracks in the concrete and brick. Repairs were made to some areas, but many didn't inspire confidence.
- 5/5
Love this hotel! Great area, best staff ever, all very friendly. Both bar tenders very personable and accommodating. Receptionist was great! Our new go to hotel when in Dallas.
- 4/5
The lobby, rooftop bar and pool are immaculate. Very quaint and charming. Great views from roof. Lovely pool area. I have been there many times over the past 15 years. Never stayed in the rooms until now. The room is very industrial w/ concrete floors and exposed ductsl. I'm not sure what I thought it would look like. the walls are thin. We could hear people singing, talking, playing music. The room was very spacious, high ceilings, good closet space, large shower and the bed was comfortable. I would stay again.

This was our 2nd time staying here and we loved it! Clean, friendly staff, fun atmosphere! We will definitely book again! We also loved the chicken and waffles restaurant across the street and the pizza joint at the corner that stays open super late! Great location!
- 5/5
there was free breakfast?
- 4/5
The room set up wasn't the best. The TV had a weird blue tint to it that made watching TV unenjoyable. The bathroom also didn't have great lighting and the due to the open your could hear anytime someone used the bathroom. Other than that it was a great stay.

Room was clean and the decor was great. The walls and/or windows are a little thin so I could hear people arguing all night long.
- 5/5
We’ll definitely be back!
- 5/5
Clean. Professional
- 1/5
The room I was in just was all round a horrible location. There is something above it so I basically heard things being dragged across the ceiling at all hours of the day. Was woken up from the dragging at 9 am and 1am. While in the room at other times, 3:30pm and 6pm the dragging happened so I left the room for peace. I also saw two bed bugs. Squished one on the white table and the cleaning crew did not clean it up, the second one was squished on the floor and was not cleaned up either. There were also coffee pods on the floors when I checked in and hair etc that remained in the spots even after the cleaning people came they just stayed in the spots they were in before I checked in. I am also currently dealing with receipts that are not mine etc so I do not know what happened here but this stay was just not pleasant. This used to be my hotel of choice for my business trips but this will be my last stay here.
- 5/5
Renovation was noisy below. Had a great time at this property.
- 2/5
There is no sound barrier between the main floor and the second floor, which is where our room was. The hotel had events morning and night and we could hear everything. On Saturday night music was blaring until 11:00 pm for some kind of party. My 7 year old daughter had a hard time sleeping it was so loud. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone unless they can sleep through a tornado.
- 4/5
Good comfortable room with good ac/heater Great view of Dallas with roof top heated pool and bar that is open until 11 pm
- 5/5
Very courteous staff. The king room was large and has great views. The food was quite tasty
- 1/5
It just wasn’t the right place vibe energy for our elopement I regret choosing them wish we stayed somewhere else
- 1/5
Horrible they have renovations where you can't sleep after 6 am because of the noises.
- 4/5
Loved the hotel, rooms, beds, rooftop bar and pool. Bathroom door would not stay closed which was kinda awkward
- 2/5
Nice lobby and courteous staff at check in. Spacious room for a family of five. Room renovations taking place after 9 p.m. while getting young kids to bed- not cool. Obvious holes in the sofa, very uncomfortable beds, and the wall shared with the bathroom had a rather large leak from an unknown location leaving pools of water in our living area are the reasons for our poor review. Tolerable for one night.
- 5/5
Hotel rooms were nice and clean, beds were really comfortable, affordable place to stay.
- 5/5
One of the best places I have stayed in a long time. Loved everything, my only suggestion is maybe normal sized sleeping pillows? Otherwise 10/10 regardless
- 3/5
Parking situation kind of sucks. They allow you to park for free or pay to valet. The parking lot is across the street but valet is right next to hotel. Rooms were nice. Bed was very uncomfortable and dipped in the middle. TV screen didn’t work half the time and was discolored when it did work. The halls were dark and dreary. Heated pool wasn’t very heated but was a great view. Wouldn’t stay again
- 5/5
Very Clean Good Restaurant and Rooftop are amazing
- 5/5
The decor in the hotel was stunning! The rooms were tastefully decorated but practical at the same time. Love the rooftop bar and the view of the city. Food was also very good! I will definitely stay there again if I come back to Dallas!
- 5/5
Awesome room, best hotel room ever with a great view of downtown Dallas. Staff was awesome and very helpful, we will be back! THANK YOU!!
- 5/5
Great rooftop pool and bar as well well appointed rooms
- 5/5
Great location, rooms, and staff! Loved the infinity pool on the roof. Ate a quick salad - and it was wonderful too! I have nothing but great things to say about the Canvas Hotel Dallas!
- 5/5
Great staff, clean room and no charge for parking!
- 4/5
Room was ok . Definitely clean , the room I wanted wasn’t available. Staff was polite, didn’t offer me anything extra for not being able to satisfy my request also was there for a birthday and didn’t receive any courtesies.
- 5/5
Rooms were very spacious & clean! Hotel had room service for cleaning everyday in full. Very nice restaurant downstairs & the best rooftop views in Dallas for the downtown skyline. Great distance to many city attractions. Self parking is allowed & it’s free!
- 5/5
Everything was excellent!!
- 5/5
Amazing view of the city from the roof top and great style!
- 3/5
The rooms are minimalistic by design with high ceilings. All walls were concrete so it allowed for a lot of echoes throughout. Heard people vomiting on the floor above.
- 5/5
It was the best stay we have ever had.
- 5/5
GREAT!!!
- 5/5
Amazing Staff! great rooms!
- 5/5
The stay was great. The size of the room was nice, it was clean and spotless. The bathroom had a water closet which I loved. The rooftop area was nice as well and they had good food/drinks. The location was okay. There were good food options within 15 min of the hotel.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staff, comfortable room, great location, good price.
- 5/5
Loved the Hotel! Great location !
- 5/5
Yes! Very cool retrofit and decor!
- 5/5
Everything was amazing. I just didn’t know pets was allowed. I’m totally allergic but the front desk gave me allergy meds and saved the day….
- 4/5
Great room, spacious. Easy check in/out.
- 5/5
Beautiful rooftop view, loved the hotel’s aesthetic, and how convenient it was to Southside Ballroom.
- 5/5
Excellent all around!
- 5/5
I didn’t try breakfast. The rooftop pool and bar was lovely
- 5/5
My only complaint is spilling water on the rug and the rug dying all my stuf
- 5/5
Clean room, good location and helpful staff
- 5/5
Nice rooftop bar, pool and view
- 5/5
We didn’t spend a ton of time at the hotel but the time we did was great. Had breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. An excellent experience overall.
- 5/5
We had an amazing time at the Canvas Hotel Dallas! The artsy vibe, friendly staff, and beautiful rooms made it such a great experience. The rooftop pool and bar with skyline views were unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back!
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, nice rooftop pool area
- 3/5
Pool on top was nice
- 4/5
The property and rooms are very trendy looking. Very beautiful!!
- 5/5
Super cute hotel in South Dallas. The rooms were spacious and very well-maintained; the staff was attentive, and there was great art on the property. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Very nice experience! Everyone is super friendly. My only complaint is parking can be a little difficult. I would rec using uber for long distance if possibly so you don’t have to fight the others for a space. The hotel property itself was very nice, but I wouldn’t linger outside of the hotel very long at night esp since it’s downtown Dallas. Very nice rooms & slept peacefully / comfortably. Will be back in the future! :))
- 5/5
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Canvas hotel for one night while we saw Twenty One Pilots. Our experience was amazing. Parking was easy and room service was extremely quick. 10/10 stay!
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful but the self parking is very limited so we had to get valet parking. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable but the bathroom door didn’t lock and didn’t close completely because it’s a barn door
- 3/5
Wonderful stay, service was difficult,
- 5/5
Pool activities awesome. The aesthetics in the lobby and room were nice different touch.
- 5/5
Beautiful unique place. Very comfy room with such a nice rooftop bar with the best views of the city!
- 5/5
Beautiful place. We enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Great view of downtown Dallas and a nice, clean room
- 5/5
The room and the pool Did not received 20% off what we order rd from the bar though
- 5/5
This is my second time staying at the Canvas and it did not disappoint. From the stylish rooms, to the attentive and welcoming service.... everything about this unique and beautiful property exceeds expectations. The food is shockingly delicious, and the drinks are made with care and precision. Such a breath of fresh air in a sea of Dallas's generic hotel offerings.
- 5/5
It is a place that I would consider for another stay.
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly!
- 5/5
Love this hotel! Alway
- 2/5
The reason I book this hotel is because of the great amenities on the property such as the roof bar and views. Unfortunately, there is always a private event that is prioritized over the guests that are pending money on the reservations. This is becoming an issue.
- 4/5
the pool area and the view is gorgeous but the pool is only 3 feet.
- 3/5
The AC was not working great even though I had it at 60 degrees it felt like 70 degrees. But besides the AC everything else was good.
- 5/5
Clean room and roof top pool. Bar and restaurant were excellent. Near concert venue.
- 5/5
Staff at front desk were friendly and helpful! Loved the pool however, service was poor and needs to be improved by 90 percent.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the pool and restaurant food was excellent!
- 5/5
Pool was fun. Rooms were very loud.
- 4/5
The TV had a blue tint to the screen and the hotel know it is an issue and havent done anything about it (had same issue last visit). The room also had the sound of constant running water throughout our stay coming from the toilet area but was not from our room. The rooftop bar is fun and the staff generally helpful.
- 5/5
Pool was gorgeous but cold. Rooftop bar after 8p was a great vibe. Room was great & beds were comfy. Pillows were great too. Staff friendly. This was my 3rd stay here.
- 5/5
Cheers.
- 3/5
Although the service from the hotel staffs were great, the valet service wasn’t too friendly. The hotel is cute and our room was uniquely decorated, the bed was super uncomfortable. The pool area was fun. Overall the experience was ok, it would of been great if our sleep was better.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Clean rooms
- 3/5
Incomplete room building
- 5/5
Great hotel! Decor and room size both exceed expectations
- 5/5
I love how big our room was and they gave us a room with an amazing room for my mom’s bday who was also impressed too. I would stay here again
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Infinity pool was wonderful and had great views of the skyline.
- 5/5
I really wanted to get pictures on the rooftop a swim but didn’t get that chance yet. But absolutely LOVE this place it’s beautiful
- 5/5
It was a nice boutique hotel
- 4/5
great hotel for young 20-somethings and party guests, but very loud DJ saturday nights at 1 am
- 5/5
Everything was great! Very clean, nice staff, great location, and lots of walkable options! I'll be back!
- 4/5
Loved the hotel. Fantastic rooms but as other reviews have mentioned there is a lot of noise because of the way the rooms are made. Concrete floors and high ceilings. You do hear almost everything. We were lucky and had a quiet stay for the 3 nights we were there. Infinity pool is small and only 3ft deep but the view is amazing. Don’t forget to buy a daiquiri pool side. Mucho booze in them. :). Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
great place to stay in Dallas, pool is the best part!
- 4/5
It went well, however a few things- it’s a bit inconvenient to have to go all the way to the living space to turn off lights (I had a suite); the shower head was a bit wonky (opt for high flow ones with more coverage for two people, especially for suite). Employees were also very nice (:
- 5/5
Great property really enjoyed my stay
- 4/5
The area attend the hotel is not the best, lots of homeless, dirty streets and police/ambulances through the whole night. Very noisy neighborhood. Only reason I’m rating high, it’s cause the rooftop view of downtown it’s really AMAZING! The rooms and lobby are also a vibe!
- 5/5
Everything was amazing! The interior is so unique and all amenities were excellent. Everything together made our couple vacation so memorable and special.
- 2/5
Beds are not comfortable
- 5/5
Very nice staff and property!! Will be back!
- 5/5
We didn't have time to enjoy the pool or bar, but they looked interesting. The air conditioning was very good which is unusual for most hotels.
- 3/5
Room was ok, but not clean. Tv was not even clear was blue like it had be messed up. Tried to see if I could change the picture quality but no luck.
- 5/5
Decor and rooftop bar/ pool/ restaurant were very cool!!!
- 5/5
enjoyed the rooftop bar and pool table!
- 5/5
Loved it
- 3/5
Front Desk support on standard requests was lacking.
- 5/5
We loved our stay at Canvas - everyone was incredibly kind and we loved that they had monitored parking 24/7. The pool was amazing and relaxing and the room was cute.
- 5/5
My room was large and clean. The building is not well insulated and you can hear footsteps and voices quite clearly. The decor was outstanding and the staff was impressive.
- 5/5
The carpet over the cement floors could stand to get updated, as could the lamp. The lamp fabric had...water damage(?) on the base, and the rug had some makeup(?) stains on it. The room overall was clean and the bed was SOOOOOOO comfortable. My husband never writes reviews and he said he would write a glowing one just about the bed. The drinks hit the spot at the bar! We had a lovely time rooftop and a wonderful waitress, Gina, in the restaurant. The steak was fantastic and so was the salmon. Front desk was so friendly. I think we had Alyssa first and she was such a sweetheart. Really great time! We will return!
- 5/5
Nice view
- 5/5
Rooftop is amazing!! Rooms are spacious and unique! Will stay again!
- 5/5
Friendly staff and room was pristine when I entered. If I come back to the Dallas area I’d stay here again easily
- 5/5
This is our second visit here. It was just as good as the first time. We love hanging out on the rooftop bar.
- 4/5
The hotel itself is amazing. This is our 3rd time staying there. The rooftop pool and city views are outstanding.
- 5/5
What a lovely decorated and lxurious hotel. It's a total retreat in a great location!
- 5/5
Pool was amazing! Hallways were a bit hot but the room temp was great! Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Our only complaint are shower floor was very slippery. Actually made me nervous sometimes while showering. Our room was on the 2nd floor and near their garbage bins which we didn’t care about until we were woken up very early by the grease/garbage truck during the week which was frustrating while on holiday trying to sleep in. Even with those minor complaints it was a great experience and highly recommend staying at this hotel!
- 4/5
I actually love staying at this hotel when I come to Dallas by myself. It’s so adorable and has everything you need in it and around it. My only issue is this past time that I came, I did find a bed bug in my pillow the morning of checkout unfortunately. The past two times I stayed I haven’t seen anything like that, but i did wrap it up and inform the front desk about it upon checkout. If I didn’t have positive experiences in the past, I maybe would have raised a fit, but thankfully this last trip was just a 24 hour stay so I didn’t sleep in the bed much.
- 4/5
Property has a great mid-century modern vibe, which I enjoy. I like the revamped old building into a hotel. Didn’t seem too large and the view from the rooftop pool is divine. I however would say the rooms do not reflect the pictures, but is still pretty cool!
- 5/5
The rooftop pool was amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
I was charged twice and nobody even mentioned it. I had to learn when an automatic refund was being initiated by my bank and it held up funds for my trip.
- 3/5
Nice decor. The gallery pool staff was rude. Guest couldn't ait around pool when hotel had a paid / bottle service event
- 5/5
Lots of art and fun place to stay.
- 5/5
Loved this hotel really quirky style but siper comfortable. Staff were very helpful, food was good and the pool and bar area were really nice.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! It wasn't long enough though. We're looking forward to returning for a longer stay.
- 5/5
Hotel workers were very hospitable. I’d stay there again. Rooms were big, clean and spacious.
- 5/5
I love our room was immaculate ! The service was amazing
- 5/5
Friendly and courteous staff always ready to assist. We were thankful for the shuttle and used it a couple of times. Enjoyed the rooftop bar and pool with a gorgeous view of downtown. Rooms were clean and loved. The the vibe and decor.
- 5/5
I truly enjoyed my stay and this super cute, unique hotel in Dallas. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The roof top pool and bar were perfect! I loved the view and was able to sit up there after a long day of work which was the perfect way to add a bit of vacation time into my work trip.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Stayed overnight which wasn’t long enough!
- 4/5
Room was unique but NOT comfortable. Plus the Casting feature on the TV never worked. Should have been a couch at least to sit on and a small bench or something in the bathroom.
- 4/5
Everything was fantastic other than the mattress. You could tell it had been used/not replaced in a while due to the huge divots in it that we sunk in all night
- 5/5
The hotel Itself was amazing. Love the pool and will definitely be coming back.
- 2/5
It was loud the entire time
- 5/5
From the check in to the room, to the attention to details, the welcome and all the attentions, I can only say THANK YOU! Can’t wait to be back!! What a beautiful hotel, with an amazing pool and best ever staff!!!
- 5/5
This place is amazing. The only thing is their parking. It was very limited and you have to park across the street. Besides that there are beautiful views and the energy is great.
- 5/5
Excellent service
- 2/5
Our hotel room faced the outside street with Gilley’s. Very noisy!!!
- 5/5
Stayed here two years ago and loved it. Same this time. Staff were amazing and room was awesome
- 5/5
A beautiful decorated hotel with rooftop pool and bar overlooking the Dallas downtown skyline. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the restaurant in the lobby and played a game of pool one of the nights. Will stay here again on our future Dallas trip.
- 5/5
Great stay. Clean. Nice vibe.
- 5/5
Unique rooms and atmosphere.
- 5/5
Staff was lovely. Pool view is very nice. Loved the room decor and the was super spacious❣️
- 5/5
The bed was so comfortable and the food options were great I ordered food service and gang amenities were nice
- 5/5
The property has great character with the aesthetic and feels of the room. The lobby and rooftop are modern but the rooms are a mixture of modern and old feels. It’s cute and has a great view of the skyline from the rooftop. Definitely a party vibe. Like a hidden gem outside of downtown.
- 5/5
Loved it!!
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Loved the large room and bathroom, not well insulated, so neighbors were really loud, no microwave to reheat food. Liked that it was convenient to walk to Gulleys for a concert. Never seen hotel room use your key card to just have lights in the room.
- 5/5
Great pool, great viewing. Love this hotel.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
Canvas was great. The decor and property were very fitting to Dallas. It's also a good distance from everything including downtown and the Galleria.
- 4/5
I loved this property so much I may have found another favorite when visiting Dallas as I travel a lot. The area it’s located in is right where you’d wanna be in Dallas if you’re young. I felt very safe around the property and it was gorgeous inside. My only complaints of my stay were how terrible the parking was even though there was overflow parking; and also the room had literal holes in the ceiling…now normally I would make a big deal but due to how quick my trip was I wasn’t worried bc everything else was fine. It did make me a little paranoid with some of the holes in the ceiling being positioned right in private areas, but I assumed they’re still working on the hotel. Also I love the resourcefulness to reuse and repurpose materials but some of the furniture did look a little too reclaimed if you know what I mean. Lol
- 5/5
Did a midweek girls 1 nighter for the pool. The hotel is great, very boho chic. Rooms were good size. Pool area is small but was great, assuming very crowded on a weekend. Had amazing staff at downstairs bar and shuttle driver. Great experience.
- 4/5
Decent food options around the hotel- enjoyed the snacks and drinks at the pool bar. Gym is an interesting “situation” in a shared space in an adjacent converted warehouse. Apparently a lot of cowboys workout there… I’d believe it from the intimidating workout groups there… I just wanted to elliptical! Echoey room and could hear a lot of noise from the room above. Clean with cute fixtures though
- 3/5
Staff didn’t anticipate things a visitor may need to know. Expected me to know a lot of things about parking and the property. Gave poor directions about parking and how to get there. Very loud music in the check-in area. Difficult for a 65-year-old man with a little bit of a hearing problem. Even when I did ask them to speak up, it wasn’t clear what they were trying to explain to me. I’m a well educated physician, but it just doesn’t seem that they were trained to tell the visitor all the things they needed to know about their place and how to get around in it. I don’t plan on going back.
- 5/5
Such a fun place to stay!! Close to a gas station, close to places to go out. Bed was comfy. Staff friendly. The food we ordered both nights was delicious and reasonably priced. The cherry on top is the roof top bar and pool. It’s a whole vibe
- 5/5
Absolutely love this hotel! Best one I’ve stayed at in Dallas in a long time.
- 5/5
Location and the view from the pool was awesome
- 2/5
The hotel was nice and had a cute style . The front staff was a little rude and our truck was broken into on their parking lot . The pool was a lot smaller than the photos . It’s a newer area and across the street from the Dallas Police Station .
- 5/5
Atmosphere was great.. best view of Dallas skyline.. relaxing and enjoyable.. will definitely be back and will tell others to go.
- 4/5
Bed was good. Was a bit noisy though. Drinks were good but not great.
- 3/5
Bed sheets had blood stain, bed in couch was broken.
- 3/5
I enjoyed the stay as a whole, I didn’t like that the room I stayed in didn’t fully resemble what was pictured. The tv has a weird tint to it and couldn’t correct it with the remote provided because you can’t access the settings on tv.
- 5/5
Everything from check-in to checkout went very smoothly. We really enjoyed our time at the rooftop pool. Rooms were extremely comfortable so were the beds!
- 5/5
Good service!
- 5/5
The pool is amazing and the art and decorations add that extra touch,l.
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful and loved how big the rooms were and well decorated and view was really nice too!
- 5/5
The hotel is great in all aspects except the pool/bar. It’s kind of hostile when you enter there - the staff is actually aggressive and unwelcoming. It’s annoying that you cannot even take a water bottle out to the pool and then they let you get cups of water that are super small and no ice. It would be helpful if they came out to take orders so you don’t have to go in to the bar all wet. Also, they should have some kind of drink specials like a bucket if beers/seltzers at a discount or a drink of the day. It has potential but you really almost feel unwelcome there. The last night we went up to take pictures and the man said he was hosing off the deck so basically hurry up and take your picture and leave. It was just such a damper on what would have been the perfect hotel. On a positive note, we appreciate the free parking and friendly desk staff. The gym was really nice. The room was very clean and the crew did an excellent job each day with freshening up.
- 5/5
Not all the staff is friendly
- 3/5
It was cute but just not it
- 3/5
The fire alarm went off at 6 am two mornings in a row.
- 5/5
Great place
