Every one was very nice and hopefull!!! It was very loud at night!!

Location is very convenient for shopping, restaurants, health care. We had stayed at this specific hotel in the past and were completely satisfied. This time, our room faced the highway and was not very quiet. Steps from train tracks with trains using their required horn when passing through crossings. There is no way to get around trains passing through overnight. The hotel was full, meaning paper thin walls having to be dealt with. It was a weeknight when we stayed. No rowdy guests. There was no way to set the temperature in the room. It was either hot and stuffy or very cold. The temperature in the room had to get at least 5 degrees above the thermostat setting before the fan would kick in. The fan would not shut off until the room temp dropped to a couple degrees below the set temperature. Perhaps it was just this room. We have never had this problem when we have stayed there in the past.

Pool was nice but parents were allowing their children to have up to 25 kids in the hot tub at a time when there was a limit of 4.

The staff was courteous and helpful. The toilet didn't flush, the air conditioning was not consistent, and the bed was not very comfortable.

I forgot to tell them our room had no water pressure. It was literally a tiny sprinkler coming out. I almost took the shower head off myself and tried to clean it out but I didn’t have time. It was clean, but looks like it’s being renovated. It could definitely be a little better. It was a cheap stay but you definitely saw the rust on the bathroom doors, the over flow sink would go all over the toilet paper, some of the lights didn’t work. But it wasn’t a terrible stay. Just could have been improved.

Breakfast was great! A pretty decent spread, although the same everyday I really can’t complain. The pool is huge, and hot tub too. Room seemed very clean minus carpet. Socks got dirty so maybe needed a shampooing. I wish the curtains closed all the way… I used a hair clip to help. Staff was all very kind. There were graduations and was a baseball tournament so a thousand kids running around and filled the pool, but they were respectful. I suspect that’s why I didn’t have a lot of hotel options when choosing a hotel. However after visiting, I think I’d come back if ever there again. Very close to everything, so the location was convenient. Quiet, too.

Room was very large and clean but bathtub was poorly patched and painted. The pool and ho5 tub were huge and very clean by far the best pool at a hotel I've been to. The continental breakfast on the other hand was the worst I've had 1 hour into the 3 hour breakfast wind they were out of most items and kitchen staff was just bullshitting with two guests instead of doing their job and they finally started restocking breakfast an hour after that.... piss poor excuse for a continental breakfast if this had been managed well this would have been one of the best hotel stays I've had.

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. My family was staying at Comfort Suites Coralville while my brother was critically ill at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. During our stay, we were fortunate to receive lodging through Rossi Guest House, a University of Iowa program that helps families of critically ill patients. Because of this unexpected opportunity, I contacted the hotel to see if our reservation could be modified. Unfortunately, no accommodation was offered despite the circumstances. Even the Booking.com representative told us this was the first hotel they had encountered that refused a stay modification in a situation like this. What was most disappointing was the response from the general manager. I explained that we were in town because my brother was critically ill and hospitalized, yet there was no effort to show empathy, discuss options, or offer any flexibility. Instead, I was simply told it was hotel policy. While I understand policies exist, there are rare situations where compassion and common sense should matter. What made the interaction even more frustrating was that the conversation somehow shifted to the fact that the hotel used to have a water slide. We were not there for a vacation or to enjoy the pool. We were spending our days at the hospital with a critically ill family member. The lack of compassion and understanding shown during that interaction left a lasting impression and was far more disappointing than the reservation issue itself. There were also issues with the property itself. The first room we were assigned had such a strong fragrance that it triggered my asthma. We were told it was likely related to a previous guest smoking or using heavily scented products. The front desk employee was courteous and helpful, but had to obtain manager approval before we could move rooms.
