Hotel España Ocean Drive

Location. Beautiful hotel. Proximity was walkable to nightlife, restaurant and shopping. Transportation was very accessible. Breakfast was a good value. Bar closes early. Rooftop bar DJ only played music for certain lifestyles, was not willing to take music requests. Rooftop bar made us pay for drinks at each order, would not allow us a tab. Rude and biased service

Everything about this hotel was amazing. How its decorated, its so classy, the staff very helpful and friend. Breakfast has everything you want. Rooms brilliant, rooftop bar great, pool is small. Location wise its perfect. Nothing really, the pool was smaller than i expected but apart from that nothing.

The hotel is an architectural jewel It’s in a tough area so coming in at night was a little scary

Exceptional location, wonderful staff and delicious breakfast. Highly recommend! Only one small thing: how "public" the bathroom area is in relation to the bedroom. No door and frosted glass for the toilet and shower. My teenage sons were horrified :)

Loved the art work and decor. Room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Quiet street just off La Rambla. Very central. Breakfast was good with fresh juice and good coffee No desk or table or workspace in the room

After the renovation the atmosphere of the hotel and architecture is very impressive. Location of the hotel is in the heart of city center which is pretty close to Liceu metro station entrance and La Ramblas. The stuff is extremely kind and helpful at all times. The main problem is; there is no seperate door between the room and shower/toilet area. Ther is also no closed wardrobe (only open shelves) in the room. The room is quite smaller than the photos. Max two person will feel much better. There is always disturbing noises during the night time. Because of the street is very narrow we felt the noise so much. A back side room willbe a better option.

Location perfect . The service from the moment we arrived , the front desk and the restaurant and bar … we were welcomed and made to feel entirely at home . Kelvin who took the greatest care of us in the restaurant. And the senior gentleman who ran the front desk welcomed me as though an old friend “ delighted to see you have returned “ it was lovey . View from my window into the back of the hotel to roof top below ( not hotel property perhaps ) room 313 contained lots of cigarette butts and debris … it did sort of take the shine off the beautiful decor. I understand the hotel was undergoing refurbishment , and the corridors outside my bedroom had construction begin , hammering , it began after 8.30 am or 9 am so this was a blessing . But the staff made up for it all ps … shame roof was closed .

The room and the hotel in general have a beautiful interior design and aesthetic; the lounge, check-in area, cafe, breakfast room are all noteworthy to view and truly take in, from the floor to the ceiling there is stunning handcrafted design to see. The staff were all very kind and willing to assist with any needs or questions. The location is centrally located however the streets nearby could be slightly sketchy at night for those who are not used to large cities or do not use common sense for personal safety. As of April 2026, there was still renovation/construction on going at the property. Street can be slightly loud at night.
