Very, very small rooms with little to no space (even by, say, Japanese standards, and compared to all other locations we visited in the cities of Spain.)

The location is very close to Las Ramblas, Mercado and the metro station so it is very easy to move around the city. The size of the room is fine, even enough for a solo traveler. The room has a minimalist design with a small updated bathroom. Staff are very helpful specially I arrived after midnight. The single bed is a bit small. Bathroom is a little small but other than this, it was a very good choice.

The staff were very helpful and nice especially the one who checked me in. He gave me tips and a map for easy navigation of the city.

Location The AC was capped at 26 degrees celcius and there were, in fact, 1 fight of stairs before getting to the level with the elevator.

We enjoy Hostal Marenostrum, close to areas we enjoy frequently as we pop into Barcelona four times a year- all seasons. It is difficult when we have a large suitcase with us, as we fly in and out of BCN and train to our second home in Southern France. We stay 90 days and bring things in and out. Stairs are getting more difficult for both husband and myself.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Hotel Marenostrum! They have absolutely amazing staff, clean facilities, and a great location steps away from La Rambla, shops, coffee, and the metro station. It was an affordable addition to our amazing trip to Barcelona!
