Hotel Peninsular

Very centrally located. Nice staff. Historic building with lots of atmosphere. Air conditioning restricted (by law, I believe) so the room was far too hot at night. Bring a fan with you!

The property is a good location to La Rambla and a lot of nearby sites in Barcelona. You also have easy access to the trains. There is a beautiful interior atrium with green plants and vines hanging, which makes for a lovely place to relax. The room is bare and you have to rent a hair dryer from the desk. Also, you are required to leave your key with the desk each time you go out. I found this a bit odd, but we had nothing taken from our room during our stay. There are no basic complimentary toiletries available. We had an attic room which was on the top floor and it go quite warm during the summer days.

The location was convenient. Close to La Rambla and a comfortable walk to waterfront. Our room was very basic, but clean with nice shower with good pressure. The breakfast was good, offered several options. Walls were thin and could hear many guests arriving at all hours, doors slamming. There was some sketchiness to the area within a block or two. Many younger guests, solo or couples. Not really a good fit for families.

Great location and a rather quirky building. Breakfast was awful. No fresh fruit juice, no toaster, no fresh fruit. And what was there did not look to be of a very good quality. Room smelt but was ok once the Air Con had been running for a few minutes. Bathroom adequate but open shower so everything gets soaking wet It is an old building but is Quite grubby throughout

The hotel was centrally located, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast offered a nice variety of options, including several meats, cheeses, pastries, juices, and a coffee machine that provided a selection of specialty coffee drinks. The room was somewhat compact, and the desk showed a bit of wear and instability. The shower area was quite small, and drainage was slower than expected, which occasionally resulted in water pooling during use.

the hotel is historic and full of character, i love it as it makes me feel that i was transported back to the early 1900s the balcony overlooking the indoor courtyard was so grand..the breakfast was a nice addition, they have generous portion for everybody, the ladies working in the kitchen who were there were so caring ,sweet and helpful.and i've noticed some of them also cleans the room so they work really hard and still smile so kudos to these women. the room were quiet, and it is charming and clean as well, the aircondition was a bonus and a good surprise! the manager was extra nice as well. it was always quiet the entire time we were staying at the hotel and it is a good experience for me and my parents.

Simple place, but overall happy with the stay. Everything was clean and breakfast was minimal but good enough.
