Nice big space. The room is really comforting. At night, it’s darkly lit. Also, why charge a parking fee when it’s right in a huge parking lot?

Great stay

We were not comfortable. Good thing we only stayed one night. When we travel to Louisiana we always stay at the Marriott Residence Inn. This is the first time we have not been satisfied. The property is old, and it is in need of renovation. The carpet, furniture and bathrooms all need an upgrade. There is a bad smell. Something is definitely wrong with the plumbing.

No ice in the hotel at all! The doors are broken and don’t work to get into the hotel. We asked the staff if there was something wrong with our key. Both of their responses were “no those doors are broken and have been for a while.”

Check-in was fast. Breakfast options were nice. Bathroom and towels in my room could have been a little cleaner. But the pillows were great. If I'm in need of accommodations in this area again I would not hesitate to stay here.

The breakfast was minimal. The location was excellent for our meetings and we also liked the stores and restaurants nearby. First we were not told about the hot water boiler being out. Then the elevator was down and 2 of us are handicapped and had to crawl down the stairs. Then we went to a business nearby and when we came back, we could not get in with our room keys.

Ac was blowing right on my face and therefore we couldn’t sleep

The room was nice, the a/c unit was so loud that it was difficult to sleep with ear plugs, and no hot water for the shower in the morning even after letting the water run for several minutes. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

Room had a very appealing layout. Clean and nice in kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and shower. I'll recommend to my sibs who will be visiting Austin in a month or so. Friendly staff from desk to breakfast to room service.

We had booked this hotel over Origin Mueller because of the pool and the buffet. Huge mistake. I was told that this hotel is going out of business and that is the only logical explanation for why it is in such a deplorable condition and why they are neglecting such critical maintenance. - Leaking air conditioner caused room to smell of mildew - and on day 2, we found large amounts of BLACK MOLD. Once we saw this, we left immediately and switched hotels. - Pool was bright green and thick with algae. - Electrical outlets had exposed metal and caused small explosion that was super scary and ruined my plug. - Furniture is at end of life - like free side of the road (exposed stuffing, rips, etc). - Room just generally very tired and dirty. The list goes on and on. Terrifying experience that nearly ruined our trip to Austin.

First room had an A/C that didn't work after trying to adjust it and the shower temperature could only be super hot or super cold. Moved to a new room where TV remote did't work and shower temperature stayed cold.

Location is very good, downtown and restaurants are very close to the hotel. Big rooms with kitchen. No drinking water provided at all, this was really annoying! I had to go out in the middle of the night just to buy a bottle of water because I forgot to buy one before I go to my room!

Difficult to find the entrance. Doors were locked in the daytime. Had to call the front desk to get in.

Loved the location! Close to our son’s home and it was so easy to come and go!

Daily housekeeping is not available. I stay 6 nights and room was never cleaned. Front desk says housekeeping is every 3 days and offerd toilet paper and fresh towels. Pool dirty, with green algae and not heated. Breakfast poor. Cold. Or out of most items. I am surprised Marriot puts there name on this one

This is our second stay at this hotel. Rooms are very nice with lots of space to spread out and a full kitchen. Very convenient location for us. The bathroom could have used a good scrubbing!

Loved: the hotel is conveniently located near shoppes & restaurants, free easy plentiful parking, friendly helpful staff, spacious clean room, comfortable bed, strong water pressure in shower, easy drive to UT-Austin, suite well-equipped water in shower wasn’t hot enough even when turned to hottest setting & hotel pricing was on the high side.

Definite LIKES: ample free parking, was given a room upgrade - 2 bedrooms/2 full baths, lots of space to stretch out, full kitchen, nice living room area, 3 TVs, ample closet space, free breakfast, spacious lobby areas with TV and plenty of room to sit, well-stocked snack area with frozen food choices (room has a microwave), comfortable bed, hotel is conveniently situated in shopping center with many eateries and shopping venues, and Debbie at the front desk was extremely helpful and polite when I was checking in - even ordered me a pizza on her phone and had Jeremiah walk with me to the Domino’s late at night to pick it up! Thank you to both of these wonderful people for being so friendly and welcoming!! Water in shower was cool the whole time - had to be quick or I’d freeze. Also the door to my room did not seal properly to a full close. The locks on that door worked but I felt better sleeping with my bedroom door locked as an added security measure. The front desk person on day of checkout was nice about it and credited my account with bonus points for the trouble.

Easy, plentiful parking. Large rooms. Free breakfast. Polite employees. Located in large shopping center with lots of stores & eateries. Shower water pressure too low. Housekeeping did not come in to clean or replenish towels/washcloths. Huge RV was parked outside our hotel room - we could hear their generator running all night long. Also TV remote didn’t work - couldn’t turn down volume on bedroom TV.

The first room we were given had 3 roaches crawling in bathroom area. Gross! I immediately called front desk and requested a new room. We were immediately switched to a new room on a different floor but was offered nothing for the inconvenience. The front desk people were far more helpful and friendly the last time I stayed here than the people this weekend. Also their TV remotes are noisy and not efficient - this happens every time I stay here. Click twice just to change channels…annoying.

Great location and front desk staff. The breakfast, however, lacked plates, eggs, and (a bit later) coffee. Other than that, a great start to the day.

I was disappointed with the options of the breakfast and particularly the coffee. "The bathroom and bed were great, but the room could use some extra dusting and carpet cleaning, and it would be nice to have a microwave and ice bag available.

Overall the experience was great although i woke up to a roach falling on my chest. That was unpleasant. The supervisor said she couldnt give me a discount since i paid through expedia.

I’ve used this hotel before and it has been good. This time I had some issues. I woke up in the middle of the night with ants on me!! They quickly changed rooms but that affected my sleep obviously. Then we had a second room that we had trouble getting out of because the electronic lock wouldn’t u lock.

Had to take a 3rd room with a smaller tv screen because the first 2 rooms had tvs that were not working properly. One only had 20 channels and none were local, the other had a non functioning guide button and had to scroll through each channel to see what was playing.

Loved our stay. It was a cute and clean hotel.

We stayed there for a couple of nights. Room was very clean and comfortable. We had our dog with us and they were very accommodating. There are many dining and shopping options in the area, some are walkable. We will be staying here again in the future.

While there's always room for improvement, this Hotel always pleases me. The women running the breakfast buffet get an A+ from me. Always fresh food, AMAZING bacon, and a friendly "Good Morning" every day. I stayed a week, and LOVED these women. As for the front desk, Patrick was my favorite. The friendly African-American male spoke TOO LOUDLY and made me feel that my private questions were now the public's business. Otherwise, no complaints with him or the women also working the front desk. My experience with the housekeeping staff was not so great—my room was supposed to be cleaned every other day, but it was only cleaned ONE DAY total. Disappointing!

Set back next to a Home Depot the property is clean, the rooms large and staff nice. Restaurants close early (9pm) so late night nothing to do. Not walkable but not a bad place.

We planned to stay in Residence Inn by Mariott Austin – University Area from September 1 to 4, 2023. After only one-night stay and at the morning of Sept. 2, we found that the bed was full of ants, a terrible experience that shocked us. We immediately quitted the hotel. The terrible hygiene of the hotel made our labor-day weekend completely unpleasant and horrified.

We had a great stay. The best/weirdest/favorite part? The elevator was always open and ready for me to head up to my room. Staff was friendly and the area was ideal.

It was comfortable. Nice breakfast, but a waffle iron would have made it better. Staff was friendly. The slope on the south entrance is pretty steep in places.

If you’re going with your family, particularly if you have a dog, this is a great place to stay. There are good walking paths nearby Starbucks, restaurants etc. Very convenient and a decent enough gym. Wish it had a little bit more but we will definitely be staying there again.

Although the hotel seemed to be in a nice area, several cars in the hotel parking lot were broken into and items were stolen. My car window was broken despite being parked right in front of the hotel and under a lamppost. The hotel staff were sympathetic and had alerted the Austin police, but were otherwise unconcerned. I did not notice any security cameras in the parking lot. Don't leave any bags or belongings in your car!

Decent area with lots of shopping and dining nearby. Hotel room was very quiet. It was clean but had a few noticeable areas of wear and tear. Overall it was a fine place to stay.

The hotel was clean and convenient but I have issues with the AC unit right next to the bed. It was pound when running and kept me up all night.

It was a good hotel with nice big rooms at a reasonable price, but the AC was very loud and made it hard to sleep the first night. Hopefully this is just a luck of the draw problem, but if you are sensitive to that sort of thing, you might consider booking elsewhere.

It was our 1st visit to Austin and it was wonderful. Maria at the desk made us feel so welcome like family! She was so friendly and gave us 1st class service! Everyone at the place was so friendly and personable. It was clean and comfortable! It exceeded our expectations. Thank you!

I loved loved loved my stay. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, it was clean.I absolutely loved the area it was a walki g distance to restaurants, shopping and Bank. We stayed in the suite and it was set up already so we bought groceries and we able to cook and eat in the room. Breakfast offered at yhe hotel was also great.So many options for different dietary needs.

I was disappointed with there being no room service and the food offered for sale was not good. The mattresses were not to my liking - much too soft. It was difficult to get the shampoo, etc. out of the pump bottles as the nozzles and not been cleaned and there was dried product on them that made the contents shoot out in different directions.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating however the hotel was a bit run down. Our air conditioner kept us up all night with loud noises like an airplane taking off every 15 minutes. We had a changeable fare and cancelled our first night a week ahead of time and were supposed to get a credit from the hotel however this did not happen and now we cannot get the manager to respond.

Front desk at 3pm was stressed and short staffed making her a little short with me. Been there and understand completely. Checked in about an hour and a half later than normal. All worked out in the end.

AC was so noisy, it showed like a large truck parked next to the bed. Room 225. No shower cap. Breakfast was just ok.

The suite was nice with 2 rooms and 2 separate baths. Since the suite was in the corner, there was lots of loud street noise. The area was OK depending on which side of the neighborhood you were on. There was a large roach that was dead on the kitchen floor had to call the front desk.

Hotel was mediocre. Seemed somewhat run down for not being that old. We had to switch rooms 3 times due to AC issues. We ended up purchasing a fan instead of moving rooms a forth time. Issue is the bedroom area does not get as cold as the living area. I hope they fix this issue because it is a great location and the staff was very accommodating.

We wanted a kitchen for convenience and this was the perfect place. Clean, modern room with full refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. The only thing we didn’t have that we wanted was The Golf Channel. Hopefully, full daily cleaning service will be in place soon with the waning of the pandemic!

I really loved all the restaurant options nearby. I thought it was a great deal but when I got there I was blindsided with a $100 charge for my dog. Whether there for a night or a year you have to pay. Had I known I would've gone for a nicer hotel for the same price.

Hotel location was perfect for what i needed, though there was a bit of highway noise from I35. Maybe because i was high up and facing that direction, but overall had a great stay.

The rooms were not sparkling clean, which was concerning during a pandemic. Some things were in need of repair - for example peeling wallpaper in the bathroom or stains on the upholstery. The breakfast food was very low quality - packaged with lots of sugar and chemicals. The coffee was disgusting. There were no options if you were vegan / gluten free / food allergies. The service was apathetic at best. I know this is a pandemic and it’s hard, but the front desk staff seemed totally apathetic. There is no housekeeping unless you request it. But the hotel isn’t also replacing the consumables like dishwasher tablets.

We still cant figure out why we were overbilled since the rate was pre negotiated and they had homeless people everywhere

We’ve stayed @ this hotel twice in the past 6 months- myself & my daughter. The hotel is clean & the staff are friendly. The first time that we stayed, we did have a mishap while checking in but I believe that it was related to the inexperience of a new employee. It didn’t stop us from returning & we had no issues during our second stay. Prior to COVID, the breakfast options were wonderful & the food was better than @ most hotels. We stayed in the same room both times- we loved the size of the room. Also, considering the COVID situation, we liked the fact that we could prepare our own meals & eat in our room. The best feature of this hotel is location! It’s in close proximity to the airport, the university, & most other Austin hot spots. We will be traveling to Austin in the future & would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is very conveniently located to the Mueller neighborhood in Austin. We enjoyed our stay during this unprecedented time. Did not use many of the amenities or the bar or breakfast offered. Did use the pool which was basically clean (could use a little scrubbing along the edges) but there were plenty of clean towels! My only complaint on the condition of Room 127 is the entry door and the bathroom doors stuck and had to be wrestled with to close and open. Otherwise a very nice hotel.
