We have and have always had mixed feelings about Carinthia and the town of Velden. But this time, coming from Italy, we still wanted to spend the night in Velden. It was our first stay in this hotel. We booked the family room and the size of the room was the main reason for our booking. We did not use the terrace, but it would have been possible. We were very impressed by the breakfast, which was an absolutely positive surprise and we really enjoyed it. Many large hotels had less to offer, so a real plus for that. Everyone will find something here, big or small. Perhaps the advertising photos are a little bit too glossy and the reality is a little more subdued, but as we all know, tastes differ. But it would be worth coming back for the breakfast alone, then maybe the mattresses will also be more modern. The room fragrance in the hallway is certainly a matter of taste and not everyone's cup of tea. On the spacious couch in the family room there is unfortunately a large visible stain on the left seat which is not good for the otherwise very modern looking room and we could not imagine being able to use the terrace in summer as it is available to other guests and would not be sufficiently fenced off in terms of privacy. What is not good for the whole hotel or the whole accommodation and very unfortunate is that it is located directly and immediately at the entrance to the Town of Velden or thoroughfare and in summer this can only be bad if loud cars are constantly driving back and forth. It is also a pity that the number of parking spaces is limited and the entrance door is not locked at night. Nevertheless, it is clear that the operators of the Hotel are making a great effort and there will certainly be solutions for many things.

Good location with hospitality and the breakfast was fine Open-plan shower area is unnecessarily huge - no hangers for the towels but the water is spreading all over. Noise from the main road is quite big if you open the window during the night as well

Cosy, modern room. The vibe in the hotel is really nice. Tasty, complete breakfast buffet. Staff was very friendly. Check in was effortless with a key code for the room. The center is walking distance, about 10 minutes on a pedestrian path. Plenty of parking space at the property if you arrive early. A bit expensive, but the whole Velden region is. You can see the lake from the old center, but not from the hotel or along the way, since the lakeside is completely filled with hotels and private properties. The shower was nice but wasn't very practical, since there was no curtain or door to prevent the water from spraying into the bathroom.
