The energy is totally pure and the Sankara’s staff was absolutely amazing

I also noticed that nearly every staff member was wearing a ‘trainee’ badge, which left me wondering where the more experienced team had gone. While the staff were polite and tried their best, the overall service lacked the polish you’d expect from a resort of this level. As other guests have mentioned, there is ongoing construction right next door, and it looks like it will continue for at least another six months — something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a quiet stay. That said, the resort itself has potential, and with some investment in maintenance and staff development, it could be a really special place again.

Everything! It had a lovely vibe and my room was exactly as described if not better. All the staff were wonderful: helpful, very professional and very efficient but the front desk staff was exceptional - especially Yumi, Diva and Donko

A Peaceful Escape in Ubud – Loved Every Moment Just got back from a 3-night stay at The Sankara Resort by Pramana in Ubud, and I already miss it. From the moment I arrived, the lush greenery and serene atmosphere made me feel instantly relaxed.​ The Room My room was a beautiful blend of traditional Balinese design and modern comfort. The spacious layout, comfortable bed, and open-air bathroom with a marble bathtub created a tranquil retreat. Waking up to the sounds of nature and the view of the surrounding gardens was a highlight each morning.​ The Pool The resort's infinity pool is a standout feature. Surrounded by palm trees and overlooking the lush landscape, it was the perfect spot to unwind. Breakfast Each morning, I looked forward to the complimentary breakfast. The variety of delicious options, from fresh tropical fruits to traditional Balinese dishes, ensured a delightful start to the day. The meals were beautifully presented and catered to different tastes.​ The Staff The staff was exceptional—always attentive, friendly, and eager to assist with any requests. Their genuine hospitality enhanced the overall experience and made my stay even more enjoyable.​ Location Situated just a short drive from central Ubud. Overall, The Sankara Resort is a hidden gem that combines natural beauty, luxurious accommodations, and outstanding service. Comfortable and beautifully designed spacious rooms,.nice rice fields within the hotel grounds. Behaviour of some of the staff, lots of trainees at the restaurant not understanding English and breakfast orders. No Yoga classes due to instructor sickness, very poor for a large company like Pramana not to have a replacement. Located in a busy little area away from town. Construction one side, the other a day club. And not informed us about their current constraction next door, no apology from the staff upon arrival. Very noisy around the pool due to this, not relaxing at all and disappointing. The Sankara certainly is not the usual Pramana standard as others. Shuttle service was good and nice spa.

The staff was just amazing, always smiling and so happy to help you. The food was lovely not a vast menu but what we have was excellent Just a few small niggles the towels looked grubby could do with throwing away and being replaced, old toiletry bottles were corroded and looked a mess. Last thing not really suitable for the elderly and disabled no stair rails. Apart from those few niggles we would definitely go back

Nice and quiet resort Bathroom does not have door, breakfast is very limited for choice and very small portions.

Exceptional

Someone takes you to the room and explains everything, like where are the towels, soap, window, desk, water, making you feel like you have never been to a hotel before. Every thing is the same as any hotel anywhere in the world. They try to be nice and welcoming, but I don’t think it’s necessary sending someone in the room to show me where the stuff in the room is.

Review: I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. We paid €650 for three nights, expecting at least a decent level of cleanliness and comfort. However, what we encountered was absolutely unacceptable. As soon as we entered the room, we were shocked to find dead bedbugs on the beds, which was beyond disgusting. The entire room had a horrible smell, and the towels were extremely overused, looking dirty and unhygienic. The furniture and equipment were old, faded, and poorly maintained, making the whole place feel neglected. As soon as we saw the condition of the room, we left immediately and requested a full refund. However, the hotel only refunded 50% of the amount we paid, which was completely unfair given the state of the accommodation. For the price we paid, this was a complete rip-off. I would never stay here again and strongly advise others to avoid this hotel at all costs.

We loved everything about this hotel! It was absolutely fabulous. The room was stunning, very private and quite. The staff were very accommodating. We will definitely come back. I think the breakfast was a bit poor. I would prefer a bit more variety and options. However,that wouldn't stop me from coming back. It's just a minor issue to complete perfection.
