Kututs Palace Cottages offers a genuinely peaceful retreat that feels removed from the busier parts of Ubud while still being conveniently close to plenty of dining options. The property is beautifully maintained, with lush gardens, traditional Balinese architecture, and a calm, tucked-away atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and relax. The cottages themselves are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed with a traditional aesthetic. I even had a Buddha statue in my room, which allowed me to make daily offerings. It’s clear that care has been taken to preserve the character of the space while still providing the essentials for a comfortable stay. Sitting on the porch in the morning or evening, surrounded by greenery and the sounds of nature, was one of the highlights. The pool area deserves special mention—it’s quiet, well-kept, and never felt crowded. It’s an ideal place to unwind after a day exploring Ubud, whether you want to swim or simply relax with a book. The staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. They were especially helpful with arranging transportation and offering recommendations, which made the stay feel easy and well-supported. They connected us with a personal guide, Dewa Okta, who tailored activities for both my daughter and me. He shared insights into Balinese culture throughout our time together, deepening our appreciation for their strong family values. He even created videos of our experiences—something we’ll treasure for years. We enjoyed our time with him so much that we joked about attending his wedding someday. Overall, Kututs Palace Cottages strikes a wonderful balance between comfort, authenticity, and tranquility. It’s an excellent choice if you’re looking for a quieter, more traditional place to stay while still being close enough to enjoy everything Ubud has to offer. I would absolutely return. Due to road construction and traffic in general, found it difficult to take the short walk to town. Ride share companies and taxies are available, but a shuttle would have been nice to have.

Location was very near to ubad centre

The property is very green and feels peaceful. The villas / cottages are spacious. The staff is helpful and try to do the best with all your requests. The system of having to order breakfast a night before is not great and is a bit jarring to the relaxation mood. The towels in the bathroom are not enough and also old and ragged. The sheer curtains on the four posters need better installation.

I was so happy and so comfortable in the villa I didn’t want to leave! Staff is great, property is amazing! Everything was amazing!

Convenient location. Large, clean, comfortable room. Wonderful, kind, friendly, helpful staff. Excellent attention to detail.

We were also pleasantly surprised by the quality and generous portions of the breakfast included with our room. The pool area felt like a lush jungle oasis. Our room was very spacious and beautifully designed, bringing the Balinese culture to life through its layout and decor. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and were genuinely sad to leave. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with authentic Balinese charm and warm hospitality. The bed was a little firmer than we prefer, but that was a small detail in an otherwise wonderful stay.

The place is as on the pictures. The villa was amazing from outside and comfy inside. Water pressure good and water was warm after few minutes which is great for Bali. Staff very nice, place safe and quiet. 2km walk from Ubud centre. Kettle, tea and coffee plus water available every day. Great pool.

Breakfast was OK Its not clean

Beautiful old Balinese property with decent sized rooms/balconies and stunning views of gardens/forests. Attention to detail. No hand towels or bath mat given, old yellow sheets and very tired furniture & unclean fabric furniture coverings. 400,000 extra per night just for an old mattress on the floor for my daughter to sleep on. coffee machine not working and usually nobody at the bar to serve. My biggest issue was the amount of Koi fish crammed into small unclean ponds. Over crowded and dirty.

The staff was nice. Nothing else was nice. The property needs cleaning and the outside walls had mildew. The room needs to be renovated desperately.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful and services were great.

Only the toilet hose was giving off water, but it was a beautiful hotel with nice staff.
-
The size and lovely placements of the villa’s. Beautiful pool area, perfect size. The staff were beautiful and so helpful, always with a smile on their faces. Loved my villa, my home away from home. Nothing.

Breakfast and lunch were excellent. Staff were very good and prompt. Traditional buildings and garden surrounds beautiful Bed, linen and towels very old. A little musty, as was room smell. Bathroom stinky, sewer smell. Room close to road and noisy. No TV as stated, but supplied when requested, though that meant fridge stopped working, even after checking at time of being installed and being told it was still working. About 20 minute walk to town, as told they no longer run a shuttle….we hired motorbikes!
