Villa Waturenggong Ubud

The staff were amazing and the place was clean. The staff kept asking daily if I want the room cleaned. They took care of us. The owner doesn’t reply from messages. But they reply to the staff. I find it a bit rude since we stayed 7 days.

Need new aircon

This place is quiet, away from the busy area. So, no traffic or club/music sounds to disturb you. The place has more of a traditional balinese hut design. It's charming, but also a little more rickety and 'open'. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our wishes. Bonus points for that! All in all, we had a nice stay. Unfortunately, this place has an ant problem. There are ants crawling over the bed, which has disturbed our sleep. Staff acknowledged this, but couldn't do anything about it. To us, this negatively influenced our stay and therefore our rating. As said, this place is a bit out of the way, there are no shops or restaurants in walking distance. It's kinda nice and quiet, but also inconvenient. Also, the aforementioned hut design isn't soundproof, it's not sealed properly at the corners and edges, so little critters can, and do, come through sometimes. We luckily didn't have too much trouble with this, except of course with the ants.

The Staff were excellent, ready to help . The villa was great . Ants ! which we complained to the staff , who sprayed the insecticide , so we could have a comfortable night sleep.

Superb

We spent 5 nights here. The staff are amazing. Very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The Villas are quiet, very peaceful, breakfast was simple but very good. A very nice Restaurant is about a 10 minute walk. Great little pool, had it to ourselves pretty much all the time. Our Villa was the largest one, it could do with a slightly bigger Aircon in the lounge/dining area.

Beds were amazingly soft and comfy however we couldn't get a full night's sleep due to the noise from the busy road right next door. Hotel is very remote and no restaurants near by unless you get a taxi into ubud Town. Breakfast was nice with a good selection of fresh food and juices. We loved the lodges but the lighting was very poor and made it impossible to get ready properly in the night make up etc. Our room didn't feel very safe at night as it didn't have a lock only a metal pin to slide into a bracket then a padlock to lock it from the outside. Staff were friendly. Only 5 rooms there in total so apart from the road noise it's peaceful. Road noise Room safety (didnt have a proper lock) Lack of lighting in room No hot water for shower in the evenings Too remote, no restaurant's near by and hotel only did breakfast.

Pretty pool/garden area, nice view from villa balcony, friendly staff. Pool made our blonde hair turn green, lizards and insects can easily get into rooms from our outside bathroom, can hear everything going on outside, limited breakfast.

In the room, there is no fridge, an essential in the tropics for keeping medication and drinks cool. There is no room safe/ deposit box. The TV didn't have a plug on the antennae lead, but I could cast movies to it from my phone. The Tokay Ghekos are large and very noisy at night *. We had a 25cm one in the roof which woke us several times each night ? And the curtains are very thin, so the room is quite light at night time. If you'd prefer to sleep, have earplugs and eyeshades at hand. Not very pleasant bathroom, the floor doesn't drain and was puddled when we arrived. The bamboo towel rail is rotting in the puddles. We moved it outside where it is more practical. This stay does not meet the description in several respects: The location is very noisy (motorbikes, ghekos) - we struggled to get any sleep. There is no restaurant at the stay. Descriptionsays there is. Breakfast is prepared fresh each morning but there is no suggestion of lunch or evening dining. The main street does not have any proper restaurants. The best we found is Mama's which is a hazardous 7 minute walk south. Be careful to not fall down a drain or get hit by a motorbike or car. Use your torch to show yourself. The swimming pool is small, only sunbeds for 3 guests. The stay claims to have a Spa & Wellness Centre. They do not. Such a feature implies a high standard venue. The houses were very nice, very spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helped us a lot( did laundry, breakfast was flexible). We rented a scooter and the location was pretty good to see Ubud and even some more distant waterfalls.

Starting the day with big smiles of the very welcoming people of the hotel is a great feeling Breakfast was good I strongly advise this hotel

Exceptional

The place had a bucolic vibe to it and water was provided for free. Cleaning was very below average. Sheets and towels full of stains, bathroom was dark and dirty, floor was dusty… more than that, staff had little to no notion of time. They asked what we wanted for breakfast the next day and what time. We said early due to a day trip. They completely ignored, though. We ended up leaving 30 minutes late. Also, there are not enough tables for the guests to have breakfast at the same time and a street dog - which was messing with a pile of trash in the front of the Villa - kept entering the hotel and staff allowed him to be jumping the kitchen counter. Not very sanitary… lastly, staff had nothing for us to purchase late at night. Despite Villa being far from everything
