La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Corpus Christi - Portland

Check-in was poorly handled. The manager was distracted on her phone and had to call another staff member instead of assisting me directly. I was given my key with no explanation of the property or amenities. There was also confusing pet policy paperwork i had to sign stating dogs were not allowed and a $250 deposit would be charged if pets were found, despite the listing on Expedia showing it as pet-friendly. This was stressful. The elevator was also broken and heavily used by both guests and staff; I had to wait about 15 minutes just to get downstairs in the morning to check out. The property felt poorly maintained. The gym had a broken window, and there were visible dirt and grime remnants in the room. Walls were very thin and I could clearly hear neighbors, particularly a baby crying. The only positive was the comfortable king bed. Overall, the stay was not worth the price and I hope the duplicate charges are refunded promptly.

This was not a great hotel but not the worst I’ve stayed in. I expected a lot more for the price I paid. Rooms smelled bad. The beds were hard and pillows were super thin. Staff was very nice and location was good.

Luckily we only stayed for one night, it wasn't very clean and I saw a few roaches in the lobby. The staff wasn't very helpful and she took a long time to check us in.

The bathrooms were not great, water pressure was so low that it was hard to shower or flush the toilet. The Pool was not well maintained, was dirty and had cracks all over the Pool. The ameneties were very small and barely had anything in them, had to buy some seperately. Too expensive for what it was.

Kids in the room next to us were extremely noisy, kept playing with doorknob between rooms. 11pm the kids were screaming & being extremely noisy! This behavior was going on from the moment we checked in @ 3pm up until midnight. We called the front desk at leadst five (5l times & nothing was resolved! We could not go to sleep until closed to midnight because this issue was never resolved! I will not ever stay there again!

My toilet bowl seat needed to be changed. There were permanent black marks on it I could not wipe off. Also, there was a Spider in my towel that you put on the floor. We needed more towels because we went swimming. The sheet on the sofa bed wasn’t clean.

I have stayed at this hotel several times when visiting Portland because the location in the town is great. Always clean and friendly, easy parking and the beds are comfortable. This time we stayed on the first floor and the noise was awful. Pool closes at 10pm but kids were running in and out and up and down the halls screaming until after 12am. The breakfast area is at the end of the hall and all the noise echoing down the hall woke us every morning at 6am. On our third evening there was a large group in the lobby hanging out until 3am and their voices and yelling again echoed down the hall we could hear every word in our room, very frustrating especially since we were woken again at 6am by kids screaming in the breakfast area. If you are expecting sleep do not stay on the first floor, we were in room 101

Mold in the caulking of the tub. Shower head water pressure terrible, Room cleaning not available unless requested, but no one tells you this ahead of time. Air conditioner is loud. Weekend breakfast closes at 9, can you imagine? No ability to watch Netflix or prime with tv.

I loved the location. Very close to good restraints and the theatre. Cheap uber into downtown corpus. The AC unit leaked our entire stay and made the carpet on one side of our room wet.

Hotel is a great location. Very close to eating places and even a movie theater Very friendly and efficient staff. Rooms are great. I would recommend upgrading to the deluxe room. It is worth it. Bed is wonderful. Pillows are just so so. Breakfast was interesting but edible. Eggs a little soft. Did not understand the sausage gravy with no biscuits or anything else to put the gravy on.

I would like to stay at the up flat and the staff at the front desk ask if we would like to stay . I did ask to stay at top flat but the staff say no room available upstairs but only was available lower flat . The staff at the front desk was not friendly

hotel itself was fine, and staff very friendly. Not a place you can walk around much, surrounded by other hotels and highways. But you know that going in; it's not a surprise. Air conditioner was noisy, would have been great to be able to open windows. Breakfast was convenient but please don't use styrofoam.

After contacting the front desk and getting hung up on. My husband went downstairs to find out the problem and Mirah was extremely rude and not apologetic at all. She gave my husband the paper that had that rule on it only to snatch it out of his hands. Long story short she contacted the police and got to make the judgement of having us removed. The police took us to our room watched us pack up our things and escorted us out like we were the problem. While I only asked to be treated fairly since I spent my money. I will never visit another LaQuinta Inn if this is how they treat their customers. I was in town from Thursday until today and was displaced due to someone not wanting to do their job. I feel attacked and discriminated against. I must say that Fernando was very helpful.

They did run out of coffee at breakfast a coyple times, but it was really good coffee and there was usually a line, so maybe invest in a couple more carafes in case.

The rooms were super clean, they even smelled good when you walked in. The gentleman at the desk in the morning was friendly and very welcoming. The location was great and felt safe. Everything was great.

The outer windows were broken, rooms were small, beds were full not queen, pillows were stained with some yellow substance and no other pillows could be given.

We arrived late, at 2AM and check in was easy enough. The room was comfortable although we realized the next morning that only the fan was on, not the 'cool' option. So it was a bit muggy by the morning.

Easy check in but the room looked run-down. When we walked into the room it smelled like feet. There were small cockroaches inside the coffee machine and on the nightstand. There were hairs on the bed. The remote control did not work. I put socks on my baby so that she would not be barefoot and they turned black even though the room has mostly carpet.

I am hopeful that under normal circumstances when Texas isn't facing a winter storm that the hotel is more comfortable. The rooms are clean and well appointed, but it was freezing cold both in the rooms and corridors. The HVAC unit in the room only had cold air regardless of the temperature setting. The hotel is aging but is wearing well.

The best part about our stay was the staff. I didn’t catch his name, but one desk clerk in particular was very friendly and helpful. The room we had was really nice, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast bar as well. We would definitely stay here again.

The walls need some cleaning that not normally something staff would do to clean the room. Lamp stands at the base are rusty. The main eating area has major stains that need a professional cleaning. Most of these things could be done easily. However this is not items that normal cleaning staff take care of. In my room the wall thermostat does not control the temp in the room. You must change it on the AC panel. I like hotels that take care of these items before I see them. For these reason I would not stay at this location again.

Two times and as many weeks, La Quinta did not have my reservation did not have my information could not work with hotel.com and managed to piss off my boss to a point where La Quinta will now be losing thousands of dollars over the year because they couldn’t get a simple reservation, correct

Seems to be a hotel for working men. We seemed to be the only family with grandkids there during our stay. Breakfast was adequate. They seemed to have a happy hour thing that we weren't told about. That featured about 12 men at the bar. A nice thing for them.

We love La Quinta! Its our choice whenever we are traveling. This time, the didnt confine the dogs to one floor like theu usually do so there was barking at all hours and like any hotel, the walls are paper thin. Also im not sure why housekeeping starting banging on doors at 7am for laundry when checkout is 11 but this is still where we will stay!

Not sure why but they took our pillows...I arrived and then left to a funeral. When I came back. My pillows were gone

Staff was extremely nice. Its one of the nicest hotels for the area. They need to do some repairs and replace showers instead of just painting. No foul smells, bedding and towels were good quality newer, clean.

The amount of trash around the hotel outside was really crazy. The trash cans at the front door of the hotel were full and trash was just thrown and left on the ground around it. The rear hotel door had trash all over the gtound and not just a few pieces but like 30 pieces of trash. Included is one small section by the back door which was propped open because the card reader on it did not work.

I didn't want to ask for a different room because it seemed nit-picky but my back was killing me. I'm sure they would have let me switch but whose to say it wouldn't have been the same thing. Overall, this is a great place to stay and felt very safe.

This is a nice new property, it is well managed.

I loved the cleanliness, the breakfast area was fully stocked and Walmart is just across the Highway with dining just as close too.

Absolutely will never stay here again! $6 for two bottles of water that were from Walmart not name brand. The second night when we came back to the hotel they were allowing parents to let their kids run all over the hotel. It was like baseball team and tons of kids everywhere. Up and down on the elevator just all around bad experience! I have kids and would never allow them to behave like that in public. Then they charged us a pet fee for two nights which is fine then they called me after we left and told us they would be charging us a fine for the dogs and said we never registered them. I said yes we did. We paid a fee even wrote down their names on the paperwork. All around horrible stay!

Everything was good. Secon time staying here and this will probably be my first choice of hotel. I'm impressed. Staff is great and very helpful throughout the process of chevking in.

Friendly staff

The property was in a great location with easy access. Restaurants, shopping & a larger city close by.

Everything was fine, but the shower had very low water pressure. The shower felted like a gentle sprinkle.

Great customer service, and CLEAN hotel.

I’ve stayed at this Location multiple times and this is the worst I’ve seen it. Showers look dirty. Tile areas look dirty (like mopped with dirty water), there was trash on the floor. Very upset with this stay. I will definitely not be going back.

I approve of the many outlets near the bed. With my family we have 3 CPAP machines and 3 cell phones. There were more than enough outlets for is to use. If I had any criticism, it would be the toilet paper. Despite being Angel Soft brand, it was rough and thin.

I will definitely return to this location

Hotel wasn’t clean and condition was mediocre at best.

Cathy was an excellent host. She greeted us, gave us information about the local area and attraction. She was so friendly. Thank you for the very nice room with a great bed!

Well maintained

One we left a bag of wet clothes The other a pillow with a i phone in it The bag of clothes was turned in the pillow was not REALLY? Housekeeping needs to be questioned

Nice, clean and quiet, even with kids next door! The breakfast was good but no muffins. Plenty of food choices around and WalMart and Academt across the freeway. Movie theater is next door. Must try the Texas A-1 Steakhouse across the street. Even the burgers are great price and taste good.

I will definitely not ever stay here again.
