Proximity to where I needed to go. The first room I was given had an “Ozone Machine” in it and it smelled like fish from the previous guest. I was offered and placed in different room. Also, I did not realize that breakfast would not be available. No pool.

Everything... location, comfortable beds, great staff members. Ironing board. It was useless it was the size of a skateboard it was flimsy and cheap. Please supply the rooms with full-size ones. Had to go to a wedding with a wrinkled shirt.

It was very well maintained the staff was so nice and friendly from the night crew to the morning. The laundry was an unexpected amenity that we used the entire time and came in handy more than I thought. Will definitely stay again when I return I wish there was a pool on property

As soon as you walk in the place smells amazing and clean staff at the front was very courteous and helpful quick check in he also helped me with a beach recommendation to which my family and I went and it was in fact as he mentioned room was spacious and had all you need to enjoy your stay fridge microwave plates cups you name it my wife and I also forgot our shampoo and believe me they had it all including bodywash and conditioner right on the shoer so we were set. Will definitely book this hotel again and hope all the candlewood hotels are like this around the world because I will book everywhere I go.

The room was nice, however our room had a odor and had to ask for an air freshener. No swimming pool, no breakfast, the gas grills looked like they hadn't been clean i a long time. Not recommended for a weekend stay with children.

Great rooms, EXCELLENT staff! Very minor issues with some of the kitchen electrical plugs but nothing major. Bed was super comfy! Won't say that I didn't like anything. But the shower head wasn't too wonderful. Wish it could be adjustable as in spray and or height.

Surprised the hotel didn’t have a breakfast. Same category and price of many hotels that include a breakfast. Front desk person said it’s because room has kitchenette. Room was good size with separate sitting area which was one thing I look for when booking. Given other options in exact location—hotel area—I probably wouldn’t stay there again

Diane, the Receptionist at check-in is FABULOUS!!! The cleanliness of the room was NOT as expected. There was a bottom part of pajamas under the recliner in the room and there was some dirt on floors. For a Hotel as nice as Candlewood Suites, the cleanliness was a disappointment.

Unfortunate experience, but it affected my stay. I would think it would be best to schedule power washing that allows them to look inside the windows and run power generators—have them work during the week when there is less weekend hotel guests.

Although the highway along where the property is located was under major construction with many closures ( which ultimately was very confusing) this property was very conveniently located to the area on which I was on business. The property is very clean and new feeling. They have a great sitting patio area, but unfortunately, the fire feature was not working...would have been great for the 2 chilly nights I was staying.

Hotel isnt bad. Looked newer until i got in the room. Shower still had hair in it and woke up next morning to ants everywhere. But, because i used Hotels.com, they couldn't "make it worth my while"

We came in to Portland for a 1 day softball tournament. The hotel was nice and it was one of the quietest sleeps I’ve had. Literally no noise, loved it. We would stay here again. Room was nice and spacious. The shower was nice just needed a little more water pressure. Other than that , great stay!

The a/c was off in our room when we arrived, so it was 80 degrees in the room. The ceiling had mold spread across more than half of the ceiling. The bathroom had multiple mildew spots in the shower. The entire room smelled musty. The hallway managed a smell that I can only describe as a combination of: gym socks, cheap industrial cleaner, and new carpet- very weird and unpleasant. Both of our daughters had multiple bug bites when we left- so, bed bugs? The staff was friendly at check in and check out, and as much as I appreciate that, even friendly staff does not make up for the subpar standards in the room upkeep. The photos online are not representative of the actual room we were in.

Clean and comfortable. The only issue we found was the A/C units. If the temperatures were above 68 in the room, the A/C has a musty smell in both the bedroom and living room area. The A/C systems should be looked at. Perhaps the filters need attention?

We took our two large Rottweilers to the beach with us and stayed two nights at this hotel. The staff was amazing and friendly, they even moved our room so that the big dogs could be closer to the back entrance( we didn’t want other customers to be frightened). The room was comfortable and clean.

We liked the decor of the rooms, that I was given a suite instaed of the room I reserved and the friendliness of staff. I didn't appreciate the non-refundable pet fee that I wasn't expecting. The microwave had not been wiped down, were not enough bath towels for the number of guests I mentioned online and appeared to be a very small splatter of blood stain above the shower door, to the left on the wall.
