I went out of my way to praise Comfort Inn & Suites Portland Corpus Christi on my TikTok account (which has since been deleted), and this is how they treated me afterward. They charged me a $50 deposit fee claiming there were “blood stains” on the sheets when it was NOT blood at all. It was from a food item my boys accidentally dropped. Anyone with kids knows accidents happen sometimes. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels and have NEVER had this issue before. From what I’ve been told by friends who work in hotels, sheets are literally bleached and cleaned anyway. Instead of understanding that kids accidentally spill food sometimes, they immediately kept my deposit and falsely claimed it was blood. I gave them multiple chances to make things right and return my deposit, but they never did. At this point, it honestly just feels money hungry. So if you’re a mama on a budget, be careful staying here. If your child accidentally spills food or makes a small mess on the sheets, apparently they’ll keep your deposit and make accusations that aren’t even true. 0/10. Do not recommend. We will absolutely be staying elsewhere from now on.

It was a good location The bath tub was very dangerous when taking a shower. It dipped in the center making it hard to stand comfortably. Also there was a plastic sheet over the smoke detector

They are remodeling it so the motel smells like paint which is understandable but the room smelt like painted over mold it was hard to breathe in the room. I don’t have any allergies ever and I had to stop at wal mart for allergy meds and DayQuil cause it’s so “stuffy” in the room. Or the ac filter needs to be changed out. I had to leave and there was an old wash cloth hanging over the shower rod. It’s cheap but at as cost.

When booking we were not told about the current construction. The blinds in the room dont close and the outside lights were on all night. The microwave doesn't work. The ac cover keeps falling and only one vent works. The shower was dirty and the bathroom mirror is loose and moved when you turn it off or on. The TV on the wall is broken so there is a huge TV setting on the desk pace making it extremely hard to do my work from my room as well as the internet only having 1 bar. We asked about the internet and they said it works best downstairs but that area is under construction. Also with the construction going on bag breakfast was offered instead of the breakfast we thought we would be getting There is no exhaust in the restroom making everything damp and a whole in the ceiling over the beds where the fire water spout is.

The bedroom area was fine but the tub was dirty and stained as well as the towels had hair on them. Also the building was under reconstruction so that would be the only reason for the low score on conditions

There was no warning when booking online that the hotel was under renovation and there was construction dust everywhere in the lobby/1st floor which triggered allergies. Our room had the worst mold stench literally hard to breathe slept with covers over head. When I got into the closet for the ironing board the closet wall had mold everywhere which is sooo unhealthy and probably cause of smell. We were so tired we didn’t even complain but to make matters worse there was a cricket In the room that did not let us sleep. Please do better! Close down until ready to operate in a healthy environment.

Paid for double queen room. When I got there I was placed in a room with the whole A/C out of the window on the 3rd floor. I was placed in a one bed room with a pull out couch the size of a twin. I was told a manager would contact me and they never did. I was told they would accommodate me the next day and never did. There was 5 in my stay and two of us had to sleep on the FLOOR! I was offered a 15% off of my stay.

Under major construction. Service very spotty. Showed up to dirty bathroom, was cleaned when i made management aware. The room and bed were comfortable but the general dirtiness was disconcerting. The whole place needs a good dusting and vacume and for employment to pick up trash when they see it. Then when ee returned to our room the next afternoon, the room was half cleaned; only one bed made, trash taken out but trash that fell out of can, still

Family trip! Hotel is in an excellent location with numerous restaurants and stores around it. You are 30 min from whitecap beach and your fishing charter. You are also 15 minutes away from Lexington and Aquarium. The only thing is the hotel is being renovated. The rooms are very nice and beds comfortable but some of the hotel rooms on first floor and fitness room still were still under construction. That being said it’s worth the price. The breakfast was very good but the lobby the clerk said weekend of the 9th will be under construction just FYI! Also the staff were very accommodating!

The room was fine. Just not clean. Hair in the bathroom on the floor and in the tub. The carpet was wet from the air conditioner leaking. They did get me a fan to dry the carpet and did give me 20.00 off my two night stay. And none of the ice machines were working and we were there for a softball tournament. Will i ever stau here again. No. I think I should of received a free nights stay. Gross wet carpet.

I really like this hotel. I say every year in the month of July due to our very Union. I know that hotels are not perfect they do have complications but no matter what I would love to stay here every year.

Renovation is going on. Nice but our room was at an angle by the door and closet smelled like mildew. Beds were comfy and they were attentive to help when I couldn't figure out the blinds. Breakfast was okay...it works. I would give an overall 4 out of 5.

Well check in time is @ 3. I arrived @ 3:30 checked in received the room card went to the room and beds were not made, so the room hadn't been cleaned. So was issued amorher room.

The lights flickered, the whole third floor smelled moldy, the bathroom smelled stale, the TV had a big spot in the middle, there were bikini bottoms left in the restroom, the fire alarm went off multiple times the first morning and one of the lamps didn’t have a bulb. Avoid this place. The only good thing was the staff at the front desk was nice and helpful.

The hotel was in construction I just think they should let us know that I didn’t change the reservation cuz we were tired and wanted to rest the room was new the bed was awesome, they didn’t have anything for breakfast but toast bread and cereal

I made a reservation just 1 hour before check-in, & as soon as we arrived, it was clear this hotel was a disaster. When I asked for a refund, they flat-out refused—even though the conditions were absolutely unacceptable.The hotel was under heavy construction. The entire first floor was out of commission, & only the third floor was somewhat complete. There was dust everywhere, the floors were filthy, & the building reeked of paint. We even saw members of the construction crew drinking while working during the day, completely unprofessional & concerning. The ice machines on floors 1 & 2 were broken and mold-covered, and the only “working” machine (on the first floor) was just as disgusting. Every trash can we passed inside& outside the building was overflowing with garbage—completely unsanitary. At night, things got even worse. The pool area turned into a party, with loud music and guests hanging out all night. Around 3 AM, they stormed through the hallways with music blasting, and the front desk did absolutely nothing to stop it. On our second night, the fire alarms went off twice, at 3 and 4 in the morning, waking up the entire building. As if that wasn't enough, we had strangers knocking on our door multiple times, trying to open it, clearly looking for someone else extremely unsafe and unnerving.Bottom line: this place is unsafe, unclean, & completely misrepresented online. Don’t waste your money or your sleep. I would not stay here again!

I wasn’t aware that there was so much construction and remodeling in that and there was a mess everywhere and the air conditioner in our room was noisy all night I couldn’t sleep and the service was just terrible. The only thing that was fairly good was the breakfast in the morning

Room wash very clean and fresh. Pillows were too small and went completely flat when we laid on them causing neck pain in the morning. Besides that, the room itself was wonderful and the cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very nice people,clean place, had no trouble getting a room. I highly recommend.

I was able to walk a short distance to a nearby bar with live music for some evening entertainment.

The property is under construction of renovation. They should not rent any rooms on a floor that is not completely finished with renovation.

Under construction, noisy and messy

There was many renovations and construction happen within/inside the hotel making the stay very noisy early the morning and dusty while leaving and entering the room. Many trip hazards with tools and items on the hall ways and walking aisles making it unsafe for people. Hotel should consider and communicate in advance if not reimburse some of the money people spend on these stays.

Bathroom was dirty. Did not know it was under construction when booking. Gym had duct tape on machines and the smell of the hotel was not pleasant. Recommendations would be not to book until renovations are completed.

Booked 2 queen beds through Expedia. When we got there, they gave us a king with a pullout couch. Said it was expedia's fault and couldn't give us the room we actually booked. Neither Expedia nor the Hotel willing to take accountability.

About the room the pillows were stinky and the toilet wasn’t flushing and then why do they still pay $50 if the room doesn’t work.

Rooms are not as described on the website everything is outdated and the rooms have a dusty smell along with many stains on carpet. Restrooms are not updated and do next feel cozy at all.

This property is filthy! Mold on walls, wet rug smell, they had to switch us twice because the rooms were not cleaned upon checking in, everything is broken. Walls have holes. Fridge microwave do not worked. Floors had old pieces of food by bed, next to tv, under curtains. One room the floor was soaking wet and had mold on ceiling. The second room there was mold in floor and walls. Blood on sheets. Shower was broken. It looked like previous persons dirty soap was still on counter. Toilets looked moldy where they aren’t cleaned. Very disgusting property. Did not want to refund us nor give us a discount. Will contact health department for This hotel. Do not stay here especially when you have little kids!!!!

The floors of our room had loose dirt and food particles. There was a bag of old fast food in the microwave and a pair of pants in a corner. The bed side tables were sticky. We changed rooms, only to find a dirty bathtub and black mold behind the bathroom door. There was also an old frozen soft drink in the freezer.

This place is a dump. False advertising by the pictures and its ratings on your website. It was so bad , in my room and my brothers room, these people left the used soap bars for new guest to use.

The room was very humid and thick air from the mold that's been painted over for dog years but is still noticeable throughout areas in the room. The phone was disconnected like a scary movie and most the lights in the room didn't work. The carpet had moved than five large who knows what kind of stains and between the bed having hair the mold and the fact the lights and phone didn't work I decided to switch rooms. The second room was much cleaner but almost too clean it reeked like cleaning products enough to give anyone a head ache. In this second room although it was clean the appearance was terrible the was big paint and drywall sections missing all over the place,the window to the outside had a bullet hole and a crack going all the way across window the bed was at least ten years old and worthless as a bed and like the last room there were mysterious looking stains all around carpet and walls of room itself. The pictures online for booking are very deceiving please do not book a stay here for you or your family you will be highly disappointed and there are no refunds of your booking to put towards your stay at another location in the area.

Since you step into the room you get hit by a moldy smell that won’t stop. Breakfast is adecuate, but there are options nearby that might be better. It was only for the night and on a budget so I guess it’s ok but if your planning a longer stay this is not the place to be

The stay at this hotel is two thumbs down. Inside the refrigerator we found a open lunchable that had mold(nasty)and a soda half way and the refrigerator was just awful. The shower has mold around it and no towels. The other doors to enter the hotel didnt required a card key anyone can enter.

It was horrible, we came for 1 night & there was 2 Roaches on the wall, bed was stained & ac did not work smelled like mildew. They did move us but other room wasn’t any better. Mold in shower & roaches. Never again!!!!!

Overall the hotel was fine no real issues. The carpet is old and has normal wear and tear. The location was perfect, right off the highway. There is construction going on but not overly inconvenient. Staff was friendly...would stay again.

I will say the room size is HUGE. Walked into the restroom and immediately felt disgusted. The restroom was poorly cleaned. The tub was HORRIBLE not to mention it dips inward. Our room had no remote for tv, no do not disturb sign… The chair at the desk(in room) was severely peeling. The breakfast I’m sure would’ve been good but running out of food didn’t help. Unfortunately not ever staying here again.

The hotel we stayed in was very unsanitary. I had to ask for new bed sheets because they had brown/red stains on them . When we first came in there was a very bad smell and we bought lysol and sanitary wipes, there was dust on the counters bed bugs . This was an absolutely disgusting and disappointing hotel nothing like the pictures the bed was out of the bed frame and the pool was so dirty I didnt let my kids go in there again there was paper n the pool , old cigarettes etc this was so DISGUSTING never again .

Great hotel for an overnight stay. Lots of other hotels are in the same location to choose from. Lots of places to eat nearby. Would be nice if the side doors were locked like it said they should be so outsiders can’t just walk-in. I would stay here again.

They never changed our bedding we had to ask for towels the A/C wasn't working right.

we did not stay, had to cancel our stay due to the room smelling like big spray. we walk into the room and walked out. we asked to be moved to a different room but there werent any clean rooms available so we Had to cancel our stay. the manager was awhere of the issue but stated only Hotels.com can cancel once yall call to confirm. this should be refunded due to the fact that we didnt cancel, the hotel was in bad shape n awhere of the smell.

Hotel was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The only thing that I didn’t like was the fact that the side does don't lock like they’re supposed to and anyone can walk in. Otherwise, everything else went well.

My wife and I loved our stay at this hotel. Our room was clean, the hallways were chill no noise at all. My kids enjoyed the pool as well.

It was not in the location that was shown on Expedia! Check out time is 12pm (noon) not 11am. Their walls are insanely thin you can hear your neighbors WHOLE conversation.

The room had a musty smell which was unpleasant, and the carpet had several dark stains which made me feel the whole carpet needed cleaning.

The room itself was nice. The one thing that got me was a $5 white shower head that didn’t match decor norvehstbivwould expect from this caliber hotel. I would expect maybe from a motel 6 or cheaper but spending close to $300 for 2 nights I definitely expected more. The hotel is clean and nice I would stay again with no problem.
