Best Western Plus Portland

I stayed for one night, and unfortunately, we were given room 114, which was in very poor condition. The room had a strong moldy smell that made it difficult to sleep. I was especially concerned for my children because of the odor and air quality. The room felt old and poorly maintained. One staff member, Mara, tried to help by providing humidifiers, and I appreciate her effort, but the condition of the room was still unacceptable. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

TVs didn’t work. Said it was because of the storm. Moved just next door to another hotel and their tvs worked. Doors were not sealed could see in the hall with door closed. AC leaked all over the floor and never cooled the room. Did not have connecting rooms like requested. Rooms smelled like mold. Pool was green and water fall isn’t working. Dinning area doesn’t even look like the photos posted on the page. False advertising

The staff was very nice and accommodating. Expedia had messed up and booked the wrong type of room and the front desk clerk made the best out of the room we ended up having. The manager saw us the next morning at breakfast and was also very apologetic and helpful.

Staff were exceptional! Friendly, happy, and eager to help. Room was clean, everything felt comfortable. The check in was the worst. I reserved two rooms next to each other and even called days in advance to ensure they were together only to discover on my arrival that not only had my reservation been deleted, but when they finally sorted it out, the rooms were not together. Staff did their best, but the error was on technology.

Wonderful place to stay! Very clean either new or updated hotel. The front desk lady was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Would 100% this hotel!

Mata the front receptionist deserves a 5 star ! She went above and beyond to try to make our stay best as possible. I will give credit where credit is due. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the rest of the staff (April) and hotel itself.

We were greeted by name when we arrived, which was a pleasant surprise. After speaking with our host and explaining why we were in town, we were placed in a room close to my daughter’s teammates which made my daughter really happy that she would be able to visit with her friend right next door. I had never had such an experience like this in any other hotel, it was fantastic! Through out our stay we were constantly greeted by a smile and good positive conversation as well as directions to local eateries and the park which was where we were having our baseball tournament. Over all I recommend this location to anyone and thanks to E. Mata , we will defiantly be staying here in the future. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable to sleep in. Thanks for the wonderful experience, Mata.👍😊

Booked a king bed, was given 2 queens. When I went back to the front desk, they said those rooms were already sold out. When walking into the room it was hot. One of the towels, had stained streaks on them. No orange juice was available during breakfast. Well lit parking and friendly staff.

The lobby and corridors are being renovated so they aren’t currently the best looking but the room was great. Bed was comfy, and the room was quiet and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is undergoing renovation, so there is a strong smell of paint and other construction materials. The breakfast was poor. What food was there at 7:30 was not warm. The coffee was always out and the desk clerk also was responsible for preparing the food. Noises from adjacent rooms was very noticeable.

It was under construction it was dirty and had nails in parking lot. I ran over a nail while i parking. Food: fruits were spoiled!!

Hotel under construction at the moment but my room was completed. Very nice room with awesome pillows. Clean and huge. Staff was very friendly. Disliked breakfast menu. I feel if you’re gonna serve biscuits there needs to be gravy for it. Also coffee machine not working. Only first two were working. Should’ve had sign on it. Plus I needed a guest computer so my daughter could do her homework but there was one.

The woman that checked us in (and seemed to have the role of every position there) was friendly and a delight. My daughter and I checked out a few hours after checkin because of the conditions. We did get our money back so that was good.

My stay was rather nice. The hotel is older but clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. Also the room that we stayed in was very spacious. I have a business trip back there in a couple weeks and will definitely be staying here again.

The alarm went off every night of my stay at 2:30am even after being told the first night that the issue qould be resolved it never was. I ended up cutting my stay short. I planned on staying 4 nights but cut it short due to this issue.

Saturday morning my wife walked into a flooded bathroom where the toilet overflowed. I had to use all the towels they gave us and that still was not enough. they did fix the toilet later that day so we did not have to change rooms.

My complaints really have nothing to do with the staff or the hotel. It was more with the other people staying there. There were lots of men/workers loitering everywhere. We were two females by ourselves. When we would walk by, they would say things like " hey baby, come sit with me." They would make it very obvious they were looking at us to the point of being uncomfortable.

The room I booked is not what I received. I booked 2 queen beds since I was traveling with my mother and my daughter. We were given a king bed with a pullout sofa. The hotel also smelled liked mildew everywhere.

Second time we stayed (totally forgot about the first time experience-otherwise would not book here!), there was a guest at our room as we tried getting in. Our clothes drawer was full of food crumbs. The shower curtain had mold all along the bottom of it. Our room had just the very basics,no t.v. guide,no local attraction flyers,no bible. Roaches present. Breakfast had rubbery eggs and salty sausage.

Our room was infested with roaches! We were offered another room but when went up there it was still occupied! The previous guest was supposed to check out and had not done that! They didn’t even notice! They gave us a can of off and some lawn and landscaping insect killer!! The manager was supposed to call me the next day and of course I didn’t hear from anyone!

There was no water pressure in the shower. There was no breakfast available either day.

I have stayed in multiple hotels and not one of them have heated water in their swimming pools including this one. Not a single hotel wants to invest money in heating their pools. I have small children and the swimming pool is the highlight of staying in a hotel. I’m very disappointed.

Clean, friendly, and good pricing-- amenities were good

The cleaning people left he bottle cleaner and a towel like they had not finished cleaning. We could not lock the door dead bolt. There was coffee pot but no coffee or cups. No glasses to rinse your mouth. The heater was not working.

Very clean very comfortable everything you need for a stay. Front desk service exceptional. Pool beautiful can't find a thing to complain about. My large dog welcomed with a $20 pet fee. Will definitely save as a favorite for when in this area again.

When we checked in the room was ok, not super clean but not dirty. We checked in on Sunday and the beds were made til Wednesday, trash was taken out on Wednesday as well. The bathroom was never clean and had roaches and one of the tiles of the wall fell off and broke that was never fixed either and we report that to the front office . Pest control arrived on Tuesday morning and asked us to leave the room because they were going to spray it and so we refused to leave since it was early in the morning . I guess the hotel takes care of the rooms only on Wednesdays!!

A nice place for our budget. The staff is very friendly. The space is large enough for two kids running around. The only thing I would complain is the smell of smoke, although it claims to be a non-smoking room, the smell comes from the wall, furniture and carpet (the so called “third hand smoke” accumulated from the past).

I was disappointed to get to breakfast area around 8:30 AM and there was no hot food, no one available to inquire about it. Others came as well and no food. Also, after a two-night stay and staying another night, I was trying to get fresh towels from morning all day, finally got clean towels later in the evening after 9 PM. Very Disappointing and if towels are not available for the rooms, then might want to reconsider having towels available for swimming.

Rusty bath tub , Dust 2 inches thick around bed , not enough towels, the cleaning lady left the room dirty and didn’t bring clean towels, Had to go to front desk to get clean towels after we return to our room around 8pm

We found a moldy rotisserie chicken in the microwave , and a vape in the sheets . We advised the front desk and weren’t even offered to be moved rooms .

Property was under renovation which is understandable but had a very strong mold smell and bathrooms were not very clean. Staff was very nice.

It's an ok stay. Didn't like that smoking is ok by this property next to the main entrance of the building. Breakfast wasn't adequately stocked to accommodate all the guests.

Hotel staff were very pleasant. Treated us like they have know of for years. Service was great. Hotel a little out dated over all we enjoyed our stay. We will be back again.

The hotel check-in was good. The room itself was horrible. Shower won't drain properly at all, the handle squeaks like it's getting ready to fall off. The shower wall was damaged. They also didn't clean our room which was disappointing especially since many families come here for the beach.

Clean , what I disliked was same men sitting outside the main entrance most of the days and drinking beer . Very unpleasant

The trip was Holiday family gathering everything went well we gathered around the kitchen and all pitched in and prepaired The meal. The Hotel staff was polite helpful and a joy to be around

Great hotel it is not only this hotel but several I’ve stayed in. Sweep edges and dust more often in areas you don’t see anymore that your customers do

The hotel is very nice and clean. But the reason we have stayed three times at this location in 2021 is the incredible staff. Dwayne and the rest of the staff are the best. I would highly recommend this hotel. We have our choice of hotels around the Corpus but we always stay here because the people who work there.

Rooms where clean, and very comfortable. Surrounding are quiet and close to many stores restaurants, and other amenities.
